Ok I’m only 6 weeks in to being a Mom, but I love our Joie Mint Latch and Joie Ginger! We also had a friend give us their City Mini Baby Jogger and I’m excited to use that when my LO can sit up. The Joie Ginger is nice because it can turn into a bassinet and then when baby can sit up it becomes a seat. The Mint latch is baseless and clicks into the Stroller frame. It’s also a great price! Like $500-600 for the whole travel system.
r/NewParents • Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought? ->I have a joie ginger and it’s ok! I like it but I think the folding mechanism on it are definitely lower end than the more expensive strollers
r/Buyingforbaby • Ergo baby Metro 3 deluxe or Nuna Trvl ->I’m pretty sure you can fold the ginger with the adapters? I think I’ve done it? The basket has two sections — one with a cover flap. I keep the adaptors in there so they don’t get lost.
r/Buyingforbaby • Joie nutmeg and mint vs ginger and rue for travel systems?? ->I do like the pramette mode on the ginger! It’s nice that it’s not a separate piece/purchase and it’s not a whole conversion like it is for the bugaboo fox. That’s thing I probably like the most about it & why I wanted it. At the moment the stroller lives in my car for a few reasons… It doesn’t fold in pramette/rear facing so you either have for take the seat off, turn it & fold it — or what I do, remove & store the seat and then fold and store the the base. Both are super easy for me to manage on my own weight wise but I’m not sure how well I’d manage with them combined on my own. I’m also pretty sick of having to do that before & after every walk I go on; but that might be my own fault for storing it in my car. The Rue (and I think ginger too) are not no-rethread harnesses & im not looking forward to dealing with that. A friend warned me against it but I ignored her in my FTM naiveté. Oh and it’s not washable at all. I literally put a burp cloth under my baby because I’m not sure what I do when a big mess happens. And you can’t put a sheet on the way you can with the Uppababy bassinet. The canopy is meh. I don’t know if the nutmeg is anymore washable. I take it on sidewalks for the most part. It does fine. It’s nothing special but does the job. It did ok but not great the one time we took it “off road.” I will also say the folding mechanisms definitely feel cheap to me, you’re getting budget materials for a budget stroller, imo. I ended up buying a separate cup holder because I couldn’t get the included one to stay on
r/Buyingforbaby • Joie nutmeg and mint vs ginger and rue for travel systems?? ->Yeah the canopy isn’t great on the ginger. I have the Rue and it’s not great on that either. I do think it’s easy to manage on my own. You can’t fold it in bassinet mode so I always take it apart and put it in my trunk in two pieces. I’m not sure how well I’d manage with two pieces combined but the frame isn’t bad at all. I have taken it “off road” a bit and it’s so great but we’ve managed
r/Buyingforbaby • Joie Ginger w Mint Latch vs. Chicco Corso LE Travel Set ->I have a Joie Ginger which is way, way cheaper. I got it telling myself I could spring for something more expensive down the line if it wasn’t cutting it. tbh, I don’t hate it— I’m able it manage getting it in and out of the car solo if I take the seat off the base. It does have a paramette mode so I’m using it with my newborn. But the mechanisms on it are just very flimsy compared to a higher end stroller (or at least I hope they are, I’d be pissed if my $1K stroller buttons felt this way) So ideally the butterfly 2 would be for a little bit down the line but I’m trying figure out just how far down the line that is! She’s five weeks now sooo at 6 months? A year? Because it also doesnt go parent facing & we don’t have a compatible car seat
r/Buyingforbaby • Reminder that the Target Trade In isn’t just for car seats, you can also use on strollers. Plus it stacks with your registry completion discount. Got a Bugaboo Butterfly 2 a lot cheaper. ->So I do like the pramette mode! It’s nice that it’s not a separate piece/purchase and it’s not a whole conversion like it is for the bugaboo fox. It did ok but not great the one time we took it “off road” I’ve started to see a few of them “in the wild” but yes it’s pretty much only influencers! I think I saw it in target but it was up in a shelf so you could see but not try it. But even if you could, staff in target wouldn’t be able to help you like a baby store. 🙄 Also, i don’t think I have the LX, just the regular ginger? But it has the pramette mode!

Got a Bugaboo Butterfly 2 a lot cheaper. ->Ginger is in fact easy to fold and unfold you can unfold with one hand by popping the latch but need both hands to fold it I’m able to lift it to waist height to get it in my foresters trunk easily it’s done great on all the terrain I’ve tried haven’t taken it to a beach or rocky area yet. If you can get the newest version I have the original and would have waited for the LX just so I could have the extended canopy. Only downside is there’s no travel bag. Also look at the chive.
r/Buyingforbaby • Joie Ginger w Mint Latch vs. Chicco Corso LE Travel Set ->We love our Joie Ginger! We got the Ginger LX with the Rue car seat combo, which has a base. They also have an option to pair it with the Mint, which is a baseless car seat. The LX stroller has a few more features but if you wanna save a little bit more you could get the Regular Ginger. They have a few other stroller models that are also worth looking at that are all a little different.

r/pregnant • Best affordable travel system car seat + stroller ->Same! It's well priced, the bassinet converts to a toddler stroller seat, and it has the adaptors to use the car seat with the stroller. Plus good safety standards!
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->I second this. After much research I am getting the joie ginger xl travel system. Great reviews and a fraction of the price
r/Buyingforbaby • Alright, what's the catch.... ->I got the Joie Ginger and Rue and love it. Also have a wrap carrier that I use if I want to run in somewhere quick
r/NewParents • Stroller Recommendations ->I love my Joie Ginger +Mint Latch. Great wheels, a little smaller and lighter vs uppababy, toddler seat converts to a bassinet, baseless car seat with built in ridged latch is a lifesaver for car shares and it clicks right into the stroller.
r/nycparents • Best stroller/travel system ->My baby isn't here yet but I just received the Joie Ginger LX/Rue travel system as a gift and it's really nice imo. The stroller folds down but I wouldn't say it's super small or lightweight, but I am short and scrawny so it may just be that lol. My husband enjoyed pushing it around the house and it was a smooth ride, the pramette was a lot bigger than I expected but that's not necessarily a bad thing if you plan to let your older toddlers nap in the stroller. I love that the stroller turns into a pram just by leaning the seat back. I don't think the Ginger LX converts to a double stroller, but I remember seeing another Joie travel system on the website that did (maybe the Nutmeg)
r/pregnant • please just tell me what stroller to get ->I would say the jogging and travel stroller may be two separate things HOWEVER I recommend you look at the Joie Ginger stroller with the Mint car seat! The Mint car seat uses the LATCH system so it can be easily installed in any car made after 2003 (in the US, anyway, not sure of dates elsewhere). The Ginger stroller seems really sturdy, and the toddler seat transforms into a bassinet (they call it pramette mode) so you don't have to buy a separate attachment. We are expecting our first in 2 months, and this is the system we went with. Don't have long term use stories for you yet, and can't yet speak to how easy/difficult it is to travel with it yet, but we also love to travel, go on walks, and live in a city where we use rideshares fairly often, so our wishlist was pretty similar! We also considered the Nuna Pipa and coordinating stroller, but the Joie system was half the price and I am so far very pleased with the quality.
r/BabyBumps • Am I being naive in wanting an absolute UNICORN of a stroller? Or do I just need to accept that I actually need three strollers? ->We also did the Joie Ginger but chose the Mint car seat for the LATCH system so we didn't have to buy two bases. Baby is due in August and our Joies just arrived and I'm SUPER happy with the quality. The LATCH system on the car seat in particular seems like it's going to be so, so convenient, and AI love that the ginger can be either a pramette/bassinet or a regular stroller for when baby is older. Plus half the price of the Nuna!
r/BabyBumps • Where to start with strollers and why is it so confusing! ->You’re asking for two different strollers here imo. Car seat compatible, light weight, errands is one category is one and the other is for walks and spacious storage. There’s basically no stroller that’s gonna hit all your wishes. A car seat shouldn’t be used as a stroller seat for walks. It’s fine for quick errands and dr appointments but if you’re taking kiddo for a walk they should be in a newborn ready stroller (flat surface). There is a few travel stroller that’s are but they won’t be great for walks. One the wheels are tiny and two you won’t be able to see your little squish. Storage in these are limited as well. Ergobaby metro 3 or uppababy mini v3 are good options to hit most of your needs, just know the limitation like they’re not gonna be the best for outside walks outside smooth road and sidewalk and you can’t look at baby unless they’re in the car seat which they shouldn’t be for walks. Joie Ginger stroller and Rue car seat are cool. The seat converts to bassinet style for baby while they’re little, seat can face either way, and you can click the car seat in when just running errands. It’s made by the people that make Nuna. I have had bugaboo donkey, vista v3, and bumbleride era as full size strollers. Bumbleride is perfect for just one kiddo. Infant ready without any bassinet needed, can clip in certain car seats if you want. My kids have napped in it daily. I use the vista way more now because that basket is fantastic when you have many kids and need to carry all their crap. I don’t use it as a double though. Loved the bassinet and used til baby couldn’t fit at all anymore. If my very tall three year old want to ride I wear the youngest. It’s really about your specific needs, where you will use it, how often, for how long at a time, etc. I prefer one full size and one travel size because they fit perfectly to each specific need whereas a middle size one doesn’t fit either need I have. Too big to use as a travel/lightweight one and too small to have proper storage and walking in all my terrains capabilities.
r/Buyingforbaby • If you could have any stroller… ->I have been going back and forth on this (also between a graco and a Nuna) but finally decided on the joie ginger lx with mint car seat. Apparently graco, joie & nuna are all owned by the same parent company & even manufactured in the same places so the joie seems like a good middle of the road option. I like that the car seat is baseless and basically a nuna pippa urbn dupe. Baseless was important for me bc we have lots of family out of state and it’s one less thing to take when we fly, plus no added expense of buying separate bases for both cars. I also like that the ginger lx lays all the way flat and the seat turns into a pramette. This means we don’t have to purchase a bassinet attachment, so also additional savings. The graco had this option as well but I don’t think the nuna laid all the way flat. A lot of the other features were comparable but the above was most important to me because if I was going to spend a significant amount of money on something I didn’t also want to be stuck buying a bunch of extras too. The joie ginger lx with mint travel system ended up only being slightly more expensive (~$30) than the modes nest to grow I was looking at. I think the nest without the expansion option was about $150 less but in both cases the car seat needed a base & buying an extra base would nearly make up the difference. I also am due early Jan so take what I say with a grain of salt as I’m not a parent yet. Just wanted to share bc I was in your shoes for months & was literally spiraling going back and forth between different options until I found this one & finally felt like I could get everything I wanted without breaking the bank & buying lots of extras. edited to add that the reason I was looking at the nest to grow was the adjustable height handle & I wasn’t clear whether the regular nest had that, but we’re both tall and I have felt like I had to hunch over pushing other strollers for family members before. The joie and nuna both had that feature as well.
r/Buyingforbaby • Car seat + stroller or baby wear? Nuna or Joolz? Also travel stroller or a full size one? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
