Yeah the canopy isn’t great on the ginger. I have the Rue and it’s not great on that either. I do think it’s easy to manage on my own. You can’t fold it in bassinet mode so I always take it apart and put it in my trunk in two pieces. I’m not sure how well I’d manage with two pieces combined but the frame isn’t bad at all. I have taken it “off road” a bit and it’s so great but we’ve managed

Same! It's well priced, the bassinet converts to a toddler stroller seat, and it has the adaptors to use the car seat with the stroller. Plus good safety standards!

Is it important to you that it's newborn compatible? Are you planning on using a carseat with it? Can it stay in the car when not in use? I personally love Joie and looking at the Nutmeg I think it's a really great option. It's the cheapest that for sure checks all the boxes. I would personally pick a lightweight stroller if I was you and had to do a lot of pushing up hills or taking in and out of the car.

I live in upstate NY so similar climate in terms of winter. We have a dog and trial walk a lot. Having a summer baby so realistically it’ll be used multiple times a day from birth until it gets too cold here. I wanted to get a travel only option but wanted something that would stand up to the trails. I wanted a stroller bc I didn’t want to baby wear and hold a leash - that seemed dangerous to me for some reason and my dog is a great walker. I spent most of last summer on the trails we use looking at strollers to see what people seemed to use the easiest. We wanted similar needs to you: a travel stroller that could stand up to weather/walks and not be huge and clunky. We couldn’t find one. We went and looked at a ton in person. We ended up with a Joie Nutmeg or a minu v3 for a travel option (will get this next spring) and an uppababy vista v3. So a huge and clunky option. 🫠

We did a vista v3 w a chicco keyfit and adapter but just got the nutmeg as our travel stroller now that he can sit up a bit and I love it. He seems comfy too. The chicco seat will set on the handlebar like a travel system too but i wouldn’t use it like that as it’s not recommended.

Joie Nutmeg looks so cute and is the one we have been most considering, but my mom friends have been trying to convince me to get a stroller with a true bassinet function for nap walks in those early days….nutmeg has a pramette feature but not a true bassinet. Joolz aer+ has a lot of great reviews and can also be bought with a true bassinet attachment. However, it’s ofc more expensive. Not sure if it’s worth the extra price….

I started out with a Vista V2 but was only able to use it for local trips to the park because my elevator has been out for ages at the train. Otherwise I'd been wearing baby if I had to go anywhere. Finally I bought the Joie Nutmeg and mint travel system from Target. It's been amazing! Apparently the same manufacturer as the Nuna but it costs much less. Weighs less than 15 lbs, it has near flat recline with bassinet mode so it's good from birth to 50 lbs, a huge expandable canopy, mesh peekaboo window so I can see baby while pushing, one handed fold and it came with a car seat that appears to easily latch in "any" car and that also fits easily on the stroller, too. I haven't tried that yet but I'm planning to take baby on a plane later this year so we will be taking an Uber to the airport with the car seat, gate checking the car seat and folding the stroller to put in the overhead bin. The basket only holds ten lbs and it's probably not the most rugged stroller but overall I'm sooo glad I went for this one. I'm likely going to end up selling my Vista.

Joie Nutmeg Travel System from Target. I was struggling with my Vista until this travel system changed my life. It comes with the stroller and the car seat and a storage bag. The car seat fits a baby up to 30 lbs or 30 inches and fits into "any" car without a base as well as fitting onto the stroller. The stroller itself weighs less than 15 lbs and collapses with one hand -- I can easily lift baby + stroller up stairs if necessary. The stroller can fit a child up to 45 lbs. The stroller seatback reclines nearly flat for naptimes on the go (or even in the house!) and the UPF 50 canopy can unzip extend super far. This is also considered a "budget" stroller system, so it retails for like $460 at Target. I wish I had gotten this travel system to start with. I will probably sell my Vista soon.

Nuna trvl or Joie nutmeg! Depending on your price point, obviously the Nuna ranks a bit higher in quality. Both allow you to click the car seat onto the stroller with no adapter needed, and without removing the stroller seat.

If you travel a lot, having a dedicated travel stroller is usually the way to go. Even a lighter regular stroller can be bulky and tricky to handle in airports or busy cities. The Joie Ginger LX is awesome for everyday use with great features, but it might feel a bit too big for travel. Travel strollers like the Joie Nutmeg are made to be compact and super easy to fold up. So really, having two strollers means more convenience when on the go, while just one saves money but can make traveling more of a hassle. Oh, and if you want to check out more travel stroller options, [here’s a with some good suggestions](https://tr.ee/b2r2xD).

Hi, I just got the joie nutmeg and kava which are comparable to the trvl and triv by nuna. Do you think having the triv is enough for you? I got both since the nutmeg is smaller for travel

When I first moved here I thought it was silly seeing so many Cadillac sized strollers with big wheels- seems contradictory. But then I realized its the cobbles stones, albeit not so wide spread in Berlin, I’ve now traveled with a stroller to Copenhagen, Prague and Lisbon and the bigger the wheels the better really or else they get stuck between stones. Thats why in Berlin and CPH buggaboos are so popular. Also, easywalkers, joolz and joie.

If you drive a smaller car, make sure the stroller is gonna fit in the trunk. We have to take the wheels off our stroller when we take my husband’s Golf. Luckily, the Joie stroller we have is meant for that but still.

As a new parent, buying and choosing stroller felt like a total new world with so many choices and things to consider. To be frank, it was overwhelming when starting out. We quickly realized, we wanted lightweight and easy to use ones as we would travel quite a bit. I would suggest: 1. Go to a shop like Baby Kingdom where they will explain different type of strollers. 2. Choose the stroller type you want and then look for sale or discounts over next few months. 3. We finalized Hamilton Z1/R1 something like that and it was 450, but we got a sale on Mothercare and got it for around 320. 4. As others said, carousell can be a good option and 2 years later after quite heavy use of Hamilton stroller we bought a like new Joie on carousell. For new born, I think it is important to ensure the stroller has at least 170 degree recline if not 180. We didn’t buy car seat or baby seat attachment for our stroller.

I used to go to Mummy's Market at Suntec to try different brands of strollers, then bought during Shopee sale. Personally I used Joie until my baby was about 15 months old, by then the seat was getting too small for her, so I switched to Baby Jogger and been using it for about a year now. I think both are pretty good for the price. I know Bugaboo / Babyzen Yoyo brand is very popular but it's beyond my budget, and I'm not keen on getting second hand due to personal reasons.
