I also have the Joolz Aer Plus and just tried out the minu v3. I had a hard time opening the minu V3. It is definitely not as smooth as the joolz. I don’t know if I got a defective one or if that’s the way it is on all. Is anyone having trouble with squeeza and fold/ unfold on minu v3? I absolutely love the one-handed fold, and the light weight of the Joolz. I hate the useless recline and the tiny under basket. The minu has a huge and capable basket and a great recline. It’s a tough choice, but it is 3 pounds heavier also

We are in the same situation as you, city living, no car, no option to store the stroller at the ground level of our walk up.  We bought a Joolz Aer + with a bassinet attachment- baby’s not quite here yet so I don’t have a full review. But I am happy to say it feels really solid and not like just a travel stroller, especially with the bassinet attachment. It’s a lot smaller than my friends bugaboo (because of course it is) so I dont know if we will use the bassinet attachment for as long. But it folds great, with or without the bassinet, and the bassinet is easy to take on and off, which is what we wanted for our 2nd floor walk up (3rd floor european) apartment. And I cannot imagine buying a heavier stroller than this - it’s supposed to be one of the lightest but still damn! 2 things I might see as negatives with use- 1. The suspension isn’t as good as a full size of course.  I am hoping it is good enough, but we live in a town with a fair amount of cobblestones and even some “stroller approved hikes” so I will definitely be putting it to the test!  2. I wish an engineer would make magic and find a way to make a lightweight travel stroller with the storage capacity of a full size- since we also don’t have a car I know I will be filling the storage underneath to absolute max capacity and I wish it was bigger, but I know it’s not possible and actually the Joolz aer has been praised for having more room than other compactsThe way I reassured myself to pull the trigger on this one was to start with the smallest stroller that could work and get it on sale/ used. That way, if it didn’t work out as an every day stroller, we had a good stroller for flights (all family lives abroad) and we could feel better about keeping this one for travel, store it away (like I said, it folds great) and then invest in something more robust for every day if we really needed it. Good luck with your search!

Hi there. If you are worried about travel and wanting your stroller to fit in the overhead on the plane, then do NOT get the Butterfly. It is slightly too big to fit. I cannot speak for the Redsbaby Skip as I have not used it. I have the Redsbaby Jive though and I am 100% happy with the quality. For travelling we were gifted the Joolz Aer+ by my inlaws. I absolutely love it. It is light and practical and very easy to carry around. Also fits comfortably in the overhead compartment.

I have the Aer+. There’s a bassinet attachment that you can purchase for a newborn- my baby used it and it seemed quite comfortable for her! I love that it’s a one handed fold too- very helpful when I’m managing things by myself day to day. As for the recline, does your baby only sleep in full recline mode? My baby actually sleeps better in the Aer+ than my full sized Uppababy Cruz 😅 I’ve since discovered she doesn’t like sleeping flat on her back when out and about

i have the joolz aer+. bought it for a holiday abroad and ended up selling my other prams (nuna mixx and cosatto giggle) and keeping the aer+ for my daily. i bought it when my baby was just turned 1, she's 3 next month and it's still in like-new condition. it's so sturdy and good quality, you can tell it's well made. i cant recommend it enough. the accessories are fab, it's lightweight and compact, easy to fold, easy to push, the extendable hood is a good size. absolutely 0 complaints from me! my friend has the bugaboo butterfly and the leather is scuffed from her walking through doorframes etc and the seat fabric has worn away - she's only had hers a year and has spoken with bugaboo who essentially said it's normal / common so i would avoid tbh

I was at Baby Bunting recently and the Bugaboo Butterfly was on a raised shelf and did not have time to take it down and test it. I have used the Yoyo and though it feels strong, my partner and I could never get it to collapse effortlessly without some issue. The Joolz Aer+ test was fantastic. My partner struggled on first go to collapse as she was being too gentle, but on subsequent attempts was a natural and the weight and stretchy strap made it a breeze to carry. We were looking for a primary full size pram with parent facing and larger wheel features and ended up going with something else however out of all the travel prams this was the easiest and simplest to use and felt quite sturdy. Side note, the Bugaboo Butterfly has a 2+2 year warranty whereas the Joolz Aer+ has 10 years transferrable. I do not think you can go wrong with either so long as they are accepted as carry on. You may be able to get the Aer+ with bonus bumper bar for as low as $604 by clicking on Baby Bunting's product page price match + -5% link and using the current price at Banana Baby. I have used their service in the past and usually their response time is less than 24hrs.

Another vote for Joolz Aer+! We bought it for an international trip (went in cabin overhead), but have been reaching for it over our usual big pram since we got back too. Fantastic fold, zippy and lightweight, shade canopy is about the biggest I’ve seen on compact prams, and the basket is way more functional than the yoyo without two rods running straight through the middle.

I have the Joolz Aer+ and it is really sturdy, good basket space, easy to fold down and quality materials. Only main difference between it and butterfly i found when researching was you just need to unzip the seat to recline it which takes a little longer than bugaboo, but it hasn’t affected usability day to day. I just liked the feel and colours of Joolz more - I purchased the Taupe

The Joolz Aer + is amazing. Carryon sized, super lightweight, true one-handed collapse and push, very maneuverable, handles all terrain I’ve taken it on including trails with roots and cobblestones, high height and weight limit, flat recline (the older US version isn’t completely flat but flat enough for a comfy nap or a diaper change), very nice materials, big sun shade, big basket. It’s my only stroller now. It’s sturdier than the YoYo and feels nicer than the butterfly, it’s closest competitors, and it’s one-handed close/open/push is better than both.

FWIW… I hired a Yoyo for a two week holiday and loved the travel pram compared to our big Uppababy Vista, so I knew I had to make a purchase. I did a fair bit of research and compared the Redsbaby and Aer+ as well and I ended up purchasing the Aer+. Zero regrets, worth every penny. It’s way more sturdy than the Yoyo and just better quality/features. The Vista’s in the garden shed now lol. I use the Aer+ daily!

We got the skip 3 recently and am loving it so far. Had the yoyo 2 previously that I got second hand off fb marketplace and so many little things annoyed me so I wanted to replace it. Also liked the Joolz aer bt the price was a bit steep and skip was just a bit cheaper. Bugaboo looks good too (sister has it) but it didn’t have a bassinet option that I wanted in case for bubs coming in November.

We got a single to double (Cybex gazelle) and like it as a single. Our second is due in November so yet to know what it’s like as a double. But honestly if I was to do it all over again, I would get a travel pram that comes with a bassinet option (Redsbaby Skip 3, Yoyo or Joolz Aer+) and then use that as the primary pram. It’s small compact, you won’t need to buy another thing if you travel and it’s so easy to put in and out of car etc. If you then become pregnant with a second and realise you’ll benefit from a double pram- then get the big double pram. The reality is you never know when you might fall pregnant with a second. And so you don’t know what the age gap might be. You might even be able to just use a single pram + toddler board if it’s a large enough age gap. For reference, we got the skip 3 and it’s great. We had the yoyo - don’t love it. The Joolz aer looks really good and I sort of wish I got that when i was picking between Joolz and yoyo. But skip 3 is new and more reasonable price than Joolz.

The joolz aer+ is a great pram. It has a genuine one hand, one movement fold unlike the yoyo and also has a carry strap. It comes with a travel bag. The only real downside for us is the lack of a peekaboo window. It is a bit exxy but sometimes comes down to just over $500 on Amazon or thememo. The butterfly is by all reports also a great pram but be aware it is 7.3 kg (aer+ is 6.4), so it technically exceeds the 7kg limit for carry on luggage some airlines have should they check.

As other Redditors have said - consider your use case before buying. I started with a Bugaboo Bee and sold that for a Joolz Aer+, which is way better for our needs (one hand fold, travel friendly, light). But I wouldn’t spend a lot on a fancy one off the bat; your child may not even want to sit in it. Mine didn’t until she was 3.

I just bought the Minu v3 today!! The local baby store had literally just gotten it in. We currently have the Nuna triv and wanted a travel stroller to keep in the car. I brought my 13 mo son and tried out the bugaboo, joolz and the minu V3. The minu was the best one out of all three. Easiest to fold up, has a flap on top to be able to see down to the baby, and easiest capability to expand the seat up/down. it was super helpful testing them out right beside each other!

I tried the butterfly 2 and joolz aer+ and thought the aer+ was better constructed. I bought the aer+, but then literally the day after taking it out, realized the bottom basket was a bit too small, and was a little annoyed by that - and ALSO found out about the joolz aer2, which hadn't been on my radar. The joolz aer2 has a larger basket, so that would've been perfect! I regret not considering the basket, and would've really preferred the aer2, but am (overall) very happy with the joolz aer+.

Second testing at Albee baby! The staff is fantastic, and that’s how we landed on the Joolz Aer+ too - I frequently see the others but found the Joolz Aer+ to be the only one that was truly a simple one-hand fold. We have an 8mo, and have the vista as our main stroller (the one the nanny loads up to stay in the area but be out and about) but the Joolz is a game changer for getting anywhere on the subway/travel in general.

We have the uppababy vista for our main, and then the joolz aer for our travel stroller, and we love it. I went up to Albee Baby on the UWS and tried out all the folding mechanisms (I’d definitely recommend that if you can swing it - they’re so helpful and it was so informative for me). IMO, the joolz was the only true one-hand fold. It was also super light and I loved the stroller strap to carry. We’re about to take it to Europe for a week or so, and based on what everyone told me, it’s going to make the airport a breeze.

Can you wait a little longer? There are new versions of the Butterfly and the Aer+ that are coming out in the next month or so. Whatever you do, do NOT get a Yoyo. Had one as my main stroller for a few years and they're the most overrated strollers on the market. The seat makes kids slouch, the fold is unnecessarily complicated -- unlike the Butterfly and the Aer+, it requires two hands and two steps. Also the basket sucks. I prefer the Aer+ to the Butterfly currently because it has a smoother push -- the Butterfly can't even handle the slightest sidewalk bump. But they're changing the wheels on the new one so that might resolve it. The Butterfly basket is very hard to beat.

I have the Minu V2 and absolutely hate it - of all my baby related purchases, it’s my biggest regret. Similar to you, I wanted to use it as a primary stroller, but found it was annoying to fold and unfold, like it often got stuck when I tried to fold it. I went to an Uppababy tune up event, and they essentially told me it’s a travel stroller so it’s not meant to be used all the time, which is why it’s getting stuck when folding it up. As a travel stroller, it is not parent friendly. You need two hands to unfold since you need one hand to unlatch and one hand to unfold. It doesn’t fit in the overhead bin on flights. Finally, you need to remove the back wheels for it to even fit in its travel bag to gate check - it is wild that they didn’t just make the bag bigger since you’re checking it anyways. Because of all this, I have no faith I’d be able to travel own my own with baby and this stroller. I ended up getting the Joolz Aer+ which I use for travel and daily trips. I don’t know about the V3, but wouldn’t have faith in it based on my experience with the V2.

We have the Uppababy Minu V2, Joolz Aer+, Uppababy Ridge (jogging stroller) and Uppababy Cruz (hand me down from 2015). I was really adamant about getting a travel stroller because I didn’t want anything bulky to have to take in and out of my car and we do like to travel (fly) quite a bit. I started with the Uppababy Minu V2 as the stroller I thought would be my primary. I had bought into the Mesa V2 car seat as well to make a travel system in the early days. It was fine, but the stroller wasn’t user friendly (two hands to unfold, not super easy to fold), my baby never liked actually sitting in the seat, and it wasn’t great for travel (we got the Uppababy travel bag but you had to remove the back wheels to fit in, and it’s too big for the overhead compartment on the plane) so much so that I have no confidence that I would be able to travel with baby alone without my husband. This was probably my single biggest regret in terms of baby purchases. I’ve heard the V3 may have fixed some of these problems, but I’d go with a stroller brand that’s known for travel strollers. In my opinion, Uppababy is known for the Vista. Our friend got us the Joolz Aer+ (very generous!) and we love it. Once baby was out of the infant car seat and thus we didn’t need the travel system, this became our go-to - in and out of the car for outings and for travel, also works for neighborhood walks. We got the Uppababy Ridge since we wanted a jogging stroller and we love this as well! More user friendly than other jogging strollers (no need to inflate the tires), and a super smooth ride. Greta for jogging, but also became our go-to for neighborhood walks. Super easy to go over railroad tracks, large sidewalk cracks/unevenness (travel strollers will struggle here and you may need to lift up the front wheels to get over them). We don’t use the Uppababy Cruz much to be honest, since we used the other instead, but nothing against it. If I had to do it all over again, I’d just get the Joolz Aer+ for car outings and travel and the Uppababy Ridge for neighborhood walks and early travel system compatibility. If I had to pick just one, I’d do the Joolz Aer+ and find a car seat that’s compatible with it so it can be used as a travel system.

I got the Minu V2 with the intent for it to be my primary stroller, and it’s probably my biggest regret as far as baby purchases go. I am on the shorter/smaller side as well, so wanted something easy to lift in and out of the car. To answer your question, it absolutely will get stuck on larger sidewalk cracks, railroad tracks, etc. However, this is true for probably all travel strollers since they have the smaller wheels. It takes two hands to unfold it, which is very inconvenient. What I hate most is traveling with it, ironically what it was designed for. It doesn’t fit in the overhead compartment, so you have to gate check it. Even to gate check it with the official Uppababy travel bag, you have to take the back wheels off for it to fit (not a big deal if you have another adult with you, but can’t imagine doing that alone while wrangling baby). I once went to an Uppababy tune up event and mentioned how my Minu was hard to fold and unfold after less than half a year, and she essentially said it’s meant to be a travel stroller and not meant for everyday use, implying that it’s not built well enough for everyday use. I was similar to you in that I just wanted one stroller and balked at the people who had 3-4 strollers on standby, but I have 4 strollers now haha. The Minu V2 which I retired the second I didn’t need the travel system with the Uppababy car seat. Joolz Aer+ which is our go to everyday stroller and travel stroller, which both we and baby love way more than the Minu. Uppababy Ridge as our jogging stroller and also what we use for neighborhood walks (goes over sidewalk cracks, railroad tracks, etc easily). And a hand-me-down Cruz which we’ve barely used, since we’re covered between the Joolz Aer+ and the Ridge.

I hate that all of the luxury brands have some sort of compromise. I love the Joolz Aer+ but the zipper recline is so weird and it’s crazy that a flimsy footrest is an add-on. The Yoyo fold is just ridiculous, I’m sure you get used to it but every time I’ve looked at it in store, the salesperson struggled with it. People love the Butterfly but it feels big and heavy to me for a stroller that also feels tippy (and it’s just a pet peeve of mine when there is no seat back pocket lol). The Minu V3 looks really promising but not sure when it will come out next year. I’d take a look at the Zoe Traveler and the Bombi Bebee v2. I’m leaning towards the Zoe because it’s smaller and lighter, but it looks like the basket isn’t as accessible. Also consider the mountain buggy nano urban.

Oh my gosh, I can’t imagine carrying the e-gazelle up and down stairs. It’s already a heavy stroller and then the battery adds more weight. If you’re going on the train and/or up and down stairs, I’d strongly recommend a travel-sized stroller like a Yoyo, Aer+, or Minu V3. Or just baby-wearing. The Vista is also awkward to carry, doesn’t have a good handle for it. For the hills I can appreciate the benefit of the battery… but I’d say a lighter stroller or baby-wearing is still the way to go. Or maybe consider a 3-wheel jogger type stroller since many have a really nice push (most are heavy though). The Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 isn’t too heavy and has a really easy, quick fold. Thule Spring might be a good one to look at as well.

We got the Joolz Aer+! We really love it. So lightweight, easy to maneuver and fold in seconds. We got the car seat adapter attachments and a compatible Nuna Pipa car seat, which has been our primary seat so far since our little one is still very small. We also got the flat bassinet attachment (second hand) which was great when he was super small and didn’t care to look around much yet. The only 2 downsides (which other lightweight strollers probably also suffer from) are the wheels aren’t large so if you’re in rough terrain like a bumpy path or park grass, you can’t move as effortlessly. Also the bottom basket could stand to be a little larger, but we make it work! I bought the Joolz Aer+ during a really good Black Friday deal. No regrets, it’s working out great for us!

We've got the Joolz Aer+. We do like it. One thing to note is the European version is able to recline flat, whereas apparently the US version does not (something to do with US regulations for travel strollers). I wish I had ordered the European version. I do wish the basket was a bit bigger and the seat more upright, but apparently those are issues with most travel strollers. It does have a ten year transferable guarantee, which is nice! While I don't regret our purchase, having found it on sale, from what I've read the Bugaboo butterfly may be slightly better in a few ways - I think the basket is bigger, and perhaps a few other factors. I wish I had gone to a physical shop and tried them all out first!

If you’re not using it in the airport can you look into whether you can hire one on holiday? I’ve tried lots of pushchairs and we travel a lot. We have the Doona (which a lot of people don’t like) but I LOVE it for travel because it is also a car seat (we use lots of Ubers and hire cars on holiday and business travel). It does have a weight/age limit of 2 years though. We also have the Joolz Aer+ and it’s a great compact pushchair that also has a shoulder strap to carry it when not in use. Not on your list (and not the cheapest for sure) but thought I’d share my experience! Both of these pushchairs are compact enough to bring into the cabin/put in the overhead bin. Edit: clarity

I would look for the Babyzen yoyo, Joolz Aer+ or the Bugaboo Butterfly on marketplace. You’re probably not going to get everything you’re wanting in a travel stroller, so you’ll have to compromise on something. Very few models will fit overhead on an airplane but the yo-yo and Aer+ definitely do if that’s important enough for you. Finding a big basket or a good recline will be the hardest.

If you do a lot of traveling, I think the Doona is worth it. I would never use it on a daily basis at home because it’s very low. But it’s very convenient for the airport and means you avoid bringing both a car seat and separate stroller. However, it is going to be a short-term investment because baby will grow out of it by a year. Then you would probably want a specific travel stroller. So you could consider a travel stroller with a lay-flat option or bassinet attachment now, you’d just also need to bring the car seat. For daily use we went with the Uppababy Vista and love it for our lifestyle. We use it primarily for walks around the neighborhood and nearby trail system, to bring to the park, etc. It is bulky and not as easy to bring in the car. Now that my son is older we actually use our travel stroller (Joolz Aer) a lot if we’re just going to the mall. For infant car seats we chose the Nuna Pipa Rx Lite and I’m so glad we went with a very lightweight option.

We have an Uppababy Vista that we got new with our first. We knew we would have at least 2 kids and wanted a stroller that could be used as a double. I love it because it handles so smoothly (we live near a gravel walking trail) and the huge basket (perfect for bringing all of our stuff to the park). We use it daily for walks and to the park. We also bring it to places like the zoo. It is bulky and not the easiest to get in and out of the car so it’s not my favorite to bring on errands like the grocery store. If I was starting over, I might instead invest in the Bugaboo Kangaroo or Donkey because I prefer the configurations for a toddler and newborn. We ended up also getting a Uppababy Cruz (used) so that our nanny has a stroller to use and we have one while on parental leave. For travel and errands (stays in the car), we have the Joolz Aer+. Love that it folds super easily and can fit in the overhead space on a plane.

We only have the Joolz Aer+ (well, and the Doona for my husband’s car which we were gifted). I didn’t even consider a full-size stroller. My logic is either I drive him somewhere if it’s far enough, or we hop on the train. So for the train, I needed something I could manage on my own. My building also has 5 steps up to the elevator so I have to lift him in it. Works for us. The sidewalk cracks are annoying but I’m just careful

We use ours (Aer+) as our daily for 6 months now and love it. It’s lightweight, folds with one hand and swapping from the bassinet to carseat to regular seat can be done in either seconds or minutes. I take it on the subway myself between Queens and Manhattan, it’s gone upstate, on flights. The suspension is decent but it’s not as bump-proof as big wheeled strollers of course. Personally I didn’t want 2 , didn’t have room for 2 and we’re doing just fine. You just are mindful of big cracks in the pavement. If you are interested, I am selling an excellent condition carrycot bassinet attachment for $125 (retails for $250 I believe).

Hi! I’m a mom to two kids in Singapore and my best advice is to get a second hand stroller on carousel. All of the premium brands are available with 30-40% discount and many are in like new condition. Premium strollers are generally very sturdy, easy to maneuver and have good resale value Also (personal opinion) the best stroller on the market is Julz Aer plus. Retails for about 760$ brand new or 500$ on carousel. Perfect for both travel and city life.

Joolz Aer+ is 10/10. I spent hours researching different ones. Bugaboo was my runner up. Avoid the Nuna Trvl, I had it and returned it, it has a hole in the seat structure and a very low back, which became uncomfortable as my child got bigger. Grew out of it before even turning one.

I have a Joolz Aer+ and a Bugaboo Fox 5. We are also a family that walks a lot. I love my Bugaboo, it works so well. It’s a dream to handle. The Joolz is great for travel, but I wouldn’t want to use it every day with how much walking we do. TBH if you have the budget to get both, I’d get both. Look into getting them secondhand, so when it’s time to resell, you can recoup most of what you have spent hopefully.

The Joolz Aer + is suitable for newborns as it reclines almost entirely. We used it for a long international flight when my baby was 12 weeks old. He is also quite small (in weight at least) but he slept fine while we were on that travel. Before and after the trip we always used the bassinet but now that he is 4 months old we are switching to the stroller alone, so I guess at 6 months you should be fine! We love it and our son loves it. For reference, my son at 4 months weights 6.3Kg.

We use the Joolz Aer as our only stroller. We live in a country where we mostly move by car and there are not my “off roads” paths. We are also expats so we travel a lot internationally and we bring the stroller with us in the cabin. Baby is now almost 1 year old and we are still very happy with this decision. I think the Aer is nice because it’s a travel stroller but also not that tiny and it comes with the bassinet (we also have the European version that lays completely flat). Edit to add: keep in mind that it’s not safe to use the car seat for longer than 30 minutes when the baby is less than 3 months old. Also some babies don’t like the car seat so they don’t sleep well in it. I would look into a travel stroller that also has a bassinet (like to Joolz or the Yoyo)

We have the Joolz Aer+ and, while it's considered a travel stroller, it's our primary one since my son was born (he is now 9MO). I think it's around 14 pound, it can go from fully reclined to almost totally upright, the canopy extends almost to the bumper bar. The storage basket is ok, you can fit a diaper bag if it's not huge. I saw that the new Joolz Aer2 has been just released, and the basket is bigger and they also improved some other parts. I am not sure about the snack tray, they do have the cup holder. And if for some reasons you decide to travel, it's cabin approved!

Since the Joolz Aer 2 is coming soon, I would expect to see some discounts on the model +. We got the cup holder, the leg rest and the foldable bumper bar, everything works perfect! The basket size is not huge but for me it’s more than enough for daily use. I keep one of those foldable changing pad with the pockets for wipes and diapers, a small pouch with some changing clothes, a muslin blanket. With of all this, you can still fold it easily, and you still have some space (for example I also usually put his daycare backpack there). I also got some pram straps that I use for shopping bags. Honestly I never felt the need for a bigger basket, except maybe when we travel and it would be nice to fit more things there.

I live in the UAE and most people here have a travel stroller as their main one. The reason is we tend to travel a lot, and we move mostly by car so it’s better to have somenthing light. I think the Yoyo is the most common one, everyone I know is happy with it. We decided to buy the Joolz Aer (we have the + but I think now they are realising the 2). We preferred it with respect to the yoyo because, while still being a travel stroller, it’s slightly bigger and also fully reclinable which is a nice feature to have in the first months (we also bought the bassinet but my son outgrew it when he was 4 months old) but also later if the baby is taking a nap. We are still very happy with it!

Hi :) yes I find the Joolz Aer still super easy to manouvre in cafes and restaurants and I agree that the it’s odd that the Yo-yo is not fully reclinabile (I have more than one friend who also realised this around 4/5 months). The only con with Joolz for me is the way you adjust the inclination, it’s a little impractical expecially if the baby is laying in it. I saw that they are now selling the Joolz Aer 2 in Europe and they partially fixed this problem, and also added the bumper bar and the leg rest (we had to buy these separately). The basket should also be a little bigger. I saw the other week that Momestore is still selling the + model but maybe it might be worth waiting for the new model!

It's slightly bigger and sturdier than the Yoyo, it's fully reclinable (perfect for naps), still extremely light, and cabin approved. I would expect to see it on sale when the 2 comes out.

Joolz Aer plus - I cannot speak highly enough of it, it’s honestly a wonder of engineering. It’s super lightweight and you can fold it with one hand. It fits as cabin luggage (but also really good for going out and using public transport). It lies flat so appropriate for younger babies (or for good naps) and has a really big canopy thing (don’t know what it’s called? What you pull over to get shade).

Can you use the Doona as a car seat for airplanes? You'd have to buy an extra seat, but it is safer than having an infant sitting in your lap. (There's a recent NYT article from March on this.) This doesn't mean you won't need a travel stroller, but it gives you time to use at least one stroller to know what you like and don't like before purchasing one. You didn't list your budget? If you really do want a travel stroller, the Nuna Trvl Lx stroller can be a travel system with its infant car seat. The stroller also has a cocoon mode that's you can use from birth without the car seat or extra bassinet (although check with your pediatrician since the recline looks a bit high). Nuna is certified greenguard gold. A con though is that their seatback heights tend to be a few inches shorter than other strollers, so if you have a taller baby, then they will outgrow their Nuna stroller. Uppababy Minu V3 is similar but I think their seatback height is higher and they have car seat adapters compatible with other brands if you don't want to use their infant car seat. Both Uppababy and Nuna car seats can be used on airplanes. You can purchase a stroller travel bag for Minu and register it before flying so if you can't stash it in the cabin overhead, then damages from gate checking it will be covered. If the Minu V3 was available when I was looking, that probably would have been my top choice. Unfortunately it wasn't and there weren't many NB compatible travel strollers at the time. I ended up getting a Joolz Aer+ with their bassinet attachment. Someone mentioned Joie and I own the Joie Hazel myself for daily walks. I just got off a call with them for troubleshooting something else and confirmed that they do add flame retardants to all of their products. It is in compliance with CA Prop 65, but that just could mean another flame retardant that hasn't been tested/banned yet.

I have the Cybex Gazelle S and love it. It IS a lot sturdier and heavier than my Joolz Aer+ which is a lighter stroller we use at the grocery store. However, in the suburbs when we go on walks the Cybex is much better because the wheels are bigger and it's more stable so that my 13 month old daughter doesn't feel every bump in the road. And like OP said it has a lot of configurations. It's compatible with the Cybex car seat we have for our daughter since the day she was born and we are planning on buying the convertible to toddler Britax car seat for her this black friday. That way our son who will be born in April can inherit the cybex infant car seat and we can use it on the Cybex Gazelle S. Like you, we planned on having babies 24 months apart. It did not happen that way and they will be 19 months apart. 19 months means she's just over a year and a half so our daughter will definitely still need the stroller- she won't be able to walk everywhere.

We got that when she was born! From the very beginning when we were on smooth surfaces it worked fine. Our cybex cloud g car seat is compatible with both the Joolz aer+ and the gazelle s. We were really paranoid that it might not be compatible with the Joolz aer+ and checked the company’s website and msged them to be sure. She really loved the cloud g and would instantly fall asleep in the car and we let her sleep in it for up to two hours (I know I know you’re not supposed to let her sleep in there for too long). That being said it’s a little bit heavy because it’s so sturdy

"Travel System" just means a stroller bundled with a compatible car seat. Most strollers are compatible with multiple car seats with adapters, so I wouldn't limit myself to just packages advertised as travel systems. The notable exceptions are Uppababy car seats, which I think are only compatible with Uppababy strollers, and Nuna strollers, which are only compatible with Nuna car seats. Apologies in advance as my examples are mostly the higher-end brands; I swear I'm not a plug for any of them, it's just the space I've done the most research. IMHO, the main factor you should consider (aside from budget) is lifestyle. I'd broadly group strollers into 5 categories (excluding 3-wheelers and side-by-sides, which I don't know much about). Narrowing down which category fits your lifestyle best will help you eliminate a bunch of strollers immediately, which will make it much easier to further narrow down the best choice for you: 1. Ultracompact/travel strollers: - Most compact fold; IATA-compliant (i.e., approved as overhead luggage by most* airlines, although each airline may be different) - Typically <= 15-ish lbs - Non-reversible seats - Typically tiny wheels (<= 6" at rear) and minimal suspension - E.g.: Uppababy Minu v3, Bugaboo Butterfly, Joolz Aer+, Stokke/Babyzen Yoyo, Cybex Libelle, Peg Perego Volo, Ergobaby Metro +/3 2. Compact/Lightweight (Non-reversible) - Bigger (but still compact) fold, but probably not cabin approved. Can gate-check - Typically <=20-ish lbs - Non-reversible seats - Slightly bigger wheels (maybe 6-8" at rear) - E.g., Uppababy Minu v2, Nuna TRVL/TRVL LX, Cybex Beezy, Silver Cross Dune, Peg Perego Selfie 3. Hybrid (Lightweight Modular) - Bigger fold again, so won't fit in overhead, but should be able to gate-check. - <=24 lbs - Reversible (i.e., modular) seats - Bigger wheels (typically 7-10" at rear) - e.g., Nuna TRIV Next, Bugaboo Dragonfly, Peg Perego Vivace, Cybex Mios, Joolz Hub 2 4. Full-size Single (Modular) - Much bulkier fold; might not be able to gate-check, most likely have to be checked luggage - Typically >24 lbs - Bigger wheels (typically 10"+ at rear) - E.g., Uppababy Cruz v2, Nuna Mixx Next, Cybex Balios S Lux 2, Cybex Priam, Peg Perego Veloce, Silver Cross Reef, Bugaboo Fox, Joolz Day 5. Single-to-double - Has ability to add a second seat - Biggest folded dimensions; will be checked luggage - Typically >26 lbs - Biggest wheels (typically 11"+ at rear) - E.g., Uppababy Vista v2/v3, Nuna Demi Grow/Next, Cybex Gazelle S, Peg Perego Ypsi/Agio Z4, Silver Cross Wave, Bugaboo Kangaroo, Joolz Geo Everything above is a gross generalization - the Bugaboo Fox has massive 12" rear wheels and the Agio Z4 is lighter and folds more compact than most full-size single strollers. I think it might be easier to ignore categories 1 and 5 above as they have more specific use cases, unless you're having twins (although a side-by-side might be better in this case) or know for a fact you'll want the ability to toss the stroller in the overhead right from the get-go. So, between categories 2-4, the first question would be whether you want a reversible seat so the baby can face you? If you want this feature, then eliminate category 2. You're left with just 3 and 4, which should hopefully be a more manageable decision. Do you live downtown and walk everywhere? Then a compact fold might not matter for you and you'll want a sturdier stroller that can go over more varied types of terrain and stand up to all-day use - so stick to the full-size single category. If you live in the suburbs and drive everywhere, you might want what I've called a "hybrid", which has a reversible seat but still folds smaller than other full-size singles (easier to fit in trunk). As others have mentioned, I would also highly recommend trying them in-store. I actually found Dear-born baby to have more strollers to play around with than WCK, which had many options locked up.

Just took the Joolz Aer+ overseas with us and it was great. Super easy to fold and small enough that it fits in the aisle so you can push the pram all the way to your seat. It weighs only 6.1kg and is noticeably lighter than other travel prams which are closer to 7kg. As mentioned above, the level of sun shade is really good! I would've loved a lay flat, however this didn't stop bubs sleeping in the stroller. The way the stroller reclines is prob the worst feature as there's a zip and then a strap so it's either reclined or not and you can't really adjust it. If we didn't get the joolz, would've gone with the bugaboo. We just found the joolz slightly easier to open up. If you want one that folds completely flat and is a good price point then check out the babybee miles.

Just thought I’d update. I eventually chose the Joolz aer+. My reasonings being, the fully flat recline, not liking the position of the air vent on the butterfly (it will shine directly on baby’s face/head - I have a ginger baby so shade is imperative!), the 10 year transferable warranty and better on different terrains (lots of people I spoke with said that the butterfly tipped or didn’t cope well as it doesn’t have lockable wheels) I will say that I do have a few slight issues with it. The tiny basket size is annoying (I have a joie travel system and the basket size is immense) It’s annoying that the footrest or bar isn’t included in the price! Overall I’m really happy! Unfortunately I am one of those people who will always think the grass looks greener. But on the whole, it’s fantastic travel or main stroller! I also got a great deal (with £120 off!)

We have the Joolz AER+. I really love it. You're right that it doesn't recline flat, but we've found the recline is still totally fine for naps on the go with our little one. The one handed fold is excellent and it steers incredibly easily. The straps are super easy to adjust and I like that the sun cover comes down quite low given that often when travelling we're out in the middle or the day more often. It's light enough to fold up and carry on your shoulder for a little bit if you needed to (obviously not to go for a hike! But like, through an airport or up a few flights of stairs or something is totally fine). We've taken it in the car, on trains, and on planes and used it non-stop and it hasn't shown any signs of wear. The only time we had issues on a plane was when we were flying between regional centres on a smaller, much older airplane where it didn't fit in the smaller overhead compartment. I think it was a Qantas flight and they just put it underneath at the gate and gave it back to us at the gate when we landed. So, you could ask about checking it at the gate if you're concerned. I haven't flown with it on Jetstar, but have found they often weigh carry on luggage and I think it's technically over the carry on allowance. So that might be worth checking (but might also be the case for other prams too!).

I say this as someone who could buy a Doona and not bat an eye at the price if that helps. It’s good in theory but then your baby has to be in a car seat 24/7 which isn’t good or safe. Babies shouldn’t be in car seats when not in the car. Positional asphyxiation is a risk. Also it’s just not good for their development. You’ll need a travel stroller anyways for when they’re too big for the Doona so might as well just start off with the regular travel stroller. I recommend Joolz Aer+ or Uppababy Minu V3 then just get the adapters for your car seat if you need a car seat on your trip. Both strollers fit in overhead bin

Doona is a car seat, not meant to be an every day stroller. It’s good for very short transits between needing to be a car seat but awful for using every single day walking around cities. You wouldn’t strap your kid into a car seat for hours on end at home. Get the Joolz Aer+ travel stroller instead, it’s great and fits in overhead bin. Do you even need car seat? You can get by with public transport in most places in Italy

I had a Yoyo with the newborn attachment, carseat adapters, etc... it absolutely was a royal pain in the ass to open & close, particularly when flying on my own with the baby. I used it for 6 months and finally was so fed up that I also bought the Joolz Aer+. The Joolz is 100000% nicer & easier to use! So mad I initially bought into the Yoyo hype.

Second the Joolz aer+ We have used ours since birth, taken it on multiple flights... it's folds down with one hand which you don't realise how useful that is till you really need it. And it's super light. its only downside is you have to have them outward facing, but to be honest once they are in the pram they want to be looking outwards anyway so it was fine for us.

I think there’s a few things here: 1. Part of what makes stroller shopping so hard is the attempt to “have it all.” Realistically no stroller will truly do it all. Once you find comfort in knowing what it needs to do for you, you can rest a little easier and ignore what doesn’t apply. 2. Personally I decided that I wanted to prioritize lightweight & infant compatibility without using the car seat, so I narrowed down to that “cohort” (yoyo, bugaboo butterfly, joolz aer +, nuna trvl) 3. Once I narrowed it down I used some desktop research to eliminate (eg too much bad reviews on yo-yo for me) but the biggest driver at this point was interacting with the strollers in store! On paper I could have spent forever trying to debate Bugaboo and Joolz. In store — the stroller picked me. For whatever reason I kept crashing the bugaboo and had no problems with Joolz. In conclusion- half the battle is defining your criteria half the battle is going in person to see for yourself and then after that it’s just sticking to your convictions as you keep getting bombarded with marketing and advice where people apply their own needs and declare their choice the end all be all! You got this!!

We got joolz aer + with bassinet and are planning to get Nuna Pipa. Highly recommend that you try to experience them in person if possible. I really liked Bugaboo Butterfly too before “test driving” and maybe I’m a dork but I found the handling much more difficult on Bugaboo than Joolz - it was so obvious which to get bc with the doll/weight I kept running into things with Bugaboo 🤪🤦‍♀️. I could never have online researched my way to such a clear conclusion!

I have a Joolz and a Cruz but couldn’t manage a Cruz up a flight of stairs. If I were you I’d look at the mid level vs full size or travel, based on what you’ve shared (suspension + light enough for stairs). This seems like Bugaboo Dragonfly, Nuna Swiv/Triv territory to me. But one thing that will be super helpful is if you can get somewhere to test drive and see the fold / carry for yourself!

Have the Aer+ and safe sleep bassinet and forward facing would be very valuable to me if I was using it as my primary stroller (I was… but got stuck in an “in between phase” where my child doesn’t want to lay in the bassinet but isn’t old enough for head control on toddler seat).

r/Buyingforbaby • Experiences and pros and cons between Joolz Aer+ vs Joolz Aer2? ->
Reddit Icon
linds__7 • 9 days ago

I have an Aer+ and the time in between bassinet and when baby has head/neck control for the seat made it so we felt like we needed an option for infant safe seat facing parent. I don’t know if that applies here with Aer2 but just in case. It’s a little tricky tbh bc you don’t know what your or your kid’s preferences will be and kids have different developmental timelines. We do have car seat adapters for Nuna Pipa Aire RX. It works fine but is not the typical mode we use it - we did bassinet way more often. You can always get something and add a stroller once you have a lay of the land and better understand your own needs. That being said I think the sort of in between strollers here in this category could be a Bugaboo Dragonfly or Nuna Swiv/Triv. I think every parent’s desire is to get the stroller that does it all but every scenario will have its drawbacks. Super compact strollers almost always mean very limited basket storage for example and there’s just no way around that.

r/Buyingforbaby • Joolz Aer 2 vs Hub 2 for short+tall parents — and Nuna Pipa Lite RX compatibility? ->

linds__7 • about 1 month ago

Ok so this is super common and I started out wanting to do travel stroller only. I now have Aer+ and a Cruz. But what I noticed is how important is it to have a true travel stroller that goes in overhead compartment of the airplane? If you want this IMO you should know that your biggest sacrifice is probably basket space. Eg the lululemon backpack diaper bag doesn’t fit in the Joolz basket. If you don’t need it to fit in the overhead then you could consider those in between strollers like bugaboo dragonfly, Nuna swiv/triv. A few other things to note about the travel strollers. If you plan to use with newborn you need to either get a bassinet (eg Joolz or yoyo) or use car seat adapters. Personally have the bassinet and car seat adapters but it’s kinda a pain to take the bassinet off and put car seat adapters on and we aren’t driving a ton. Hope this helps!

To me people are usually between bugaboo butterfly, uppababy minu, aer Joolz. If you don’t need it to fit in overhead compartment for flights then Nuna TRVL maybe. Agree with the other poster if you can go somewhere to test drive and do the fold etc, see handlebar height, basket size, that’s usually most helpful. For example on the surface Joolz and Bugaboo seem soo similar but for whatever reason I kept bumping into things with the Bugaboo (using the dummy doll inside for weight) so I went for Joolz. Good luck!

Travel stroller that has a bassinet attachment like a Joolz Aer plus or Yo-yo 3. (Both of these models can also hold a car seat.) personally I only used the car seat on the stroller once. I don’t like the ergonomics of leaving baby in the car seat for longer than necessary and my baby hated it. I find it much easier to buy a backpack travel bag when flying and to gate check the car seat. (You can also check it with bags for free). The baby will also grow out of the infant car seat around 14 months and none of the car seats for that age connect to a stroller. Realistically how many flights will your baby have before 14 months? For hiking I would get an osprey poco LT carrier. Much easier to navigate than a stroller when hiking. Especially if dad carries.

I’m not sure about how upright the seats are but I tried both of these as well as the Joolz Aer plus and Yo-yo 3 and ended up getting the Joolz Aer Plus. The sales person told me they have had tons of issues with the butterfly’s wheels falling off and she can’t recommend it. The Minu was much heavier than the Joolz and Yo-yo. I didn’t like where the carry strap was located on the Minu. My husband couldn’t fold the yo-yo. Joolz was easy all around. You can also add car seat adapters and they have a bassinet if you want to use it for a small baby.

Just my two cents, most of the recommendations you’re going to get on the general Internet / Reddit aren’t going to pertain to you much, living in NYC. Your lifestyle and needs are extremely different than the typical person who lives in the suburbs in a house with ample storage and drives everywhere. Talk to your friends in NYC who are parents, or ask specifically in NYC corners of the internet, for the best advice. If you decide small and lightweight is what you really want and need, I could give an endorsement on the Joolz Aer+. I really like mine. Storage of “stuff” is tricky though. Due to its size, the basket is small. It’s inevitable with a stroller that size.

I’d consider eliminating this as a criteria. It’s very limiting and it’s ultimately not that important. Sure, you don’t want one without a deep recline, but it doesn’t need to be *flat* flat. Especially on a travel stroller. FWIW, I have and love my Joolz Aer+.

I bought my Joolz for “$610” on sale but used the Amazon baby discount which was like an additional 10 or 15% off, plus using discounted Amazon gift cards (5% off from Woolies or something). I think in total I got the pram for around $500 with the foot rest as well. I also previously bought a second hand Joolz aer from marketplace and washed the fabric and it came up like new, that one was around $350. I then sold it once I bought the Aer+. I love it so much, it stands up on its own when folded which was a must for me. We went to Asia last month and it was so easy to manoeuvre around and fold up to store aside in the small shops. Had no issues taking it on board Singapore airlines using the included bag cover. It’s super sturdy as well, really happy with it.

This is us as well. The Vista is honestly too big and too much for me, apart from having all the space in the basket which is great for shopping it’s honestly a pain to get in and out of the boot (I am petite though). The area I live in is majority hills so it’s heavy to push for walks. I got a Joolz Aer+ as a travel pram and it’s so easy to manoeuvre and fold up. I can hold it with one hand and doesn’t take up so much boot space. Should have bought it initially with a bassinet and I would have been happier. The vista for us gets used once every three weeks at most. Especially now in the toddler stage. For baby stage I just used a carrier a lot as it was just more convenient than getting the huge pram out. Second is on the way so I’ll see what happens with the vista, but I also got the skateboard for the Joolz secondhand for cheap so will try it out when the time comes.

We bought the [Joolz Aer+](https://www.reviewni.com/product/B0CYQBQNVL) for our trip to Italy (think: lots of trains, cobblestone streets, and airport chaos with a toddler in tow) and I wanted a travel stroller that wouldn’t make my life harder. I did a ton of research, tried the famous YoYo and the Joolz, and honestly…I was shocked by how much I disliked the YoYo. Maybe I had a dud, but it was such a pain to close - seriously, at one point I was on my knees struggling to fold it, and my toddler thought it was hilarious. 😂 Plus, assembling it was a nightmare (instructions were just pictures??). Enter the Joolz Aer+: absolute game changer. The seat is seriously comfy (I lowkey want to sit in it myself), the zip recline is smooth, and the sunshade is HUGE for naps on the go and folds small. But my favorite feature? I can close it one-handed while still holding my toddler (and a diaper bag, of course). I don’t need to put him down on gross airport floors anymore, and the shoulder strap is actually comfortable. Only wish it came with a rain cover and foot rest for the price, but overall - this blows all the cheaper options and the YoYo out of the water.

I have the joolz aer+ and am considering selling it for the minu v3 because of the larger basket. The aer doesn’t even hold my daily diaper bag. The basket is so small. I’m excited for the v3 improvements and it would be great as your only stroller because you can get a snack tray and other accessories for it. You might easily get a bassinet 2nd hand for cheap or use the car seat for newborn. Sidewalks in my neighborhood are not that smooth so the bassinet did not feel secure enough for the newborn. She actually hated it while strolling, but loved it in the house for taking her from room to room. We used the car seat in the stroller more than the bassinet which gave good shock absorption , but it was nice to have both.

For all the snarky moms, I hope your pillows are always cool, your coffee is exactly how you like it, and that you are able to take a nice nap this week. Sounds like yall need a little respite ❤️ Hi everyone! I’m coming in with subject that’s been beat to death, but I’m here to smack it a few more times 😂 I need help deciding on a travel stroller. Our Cruz V2 is our everyday stroller, but my husband and I use strollers 24/7 and this one folds super large. We travel by car, no airplane, so overhead bin fit isn’t a deciding factor at all. I’m looking for primarily something that will fit behind the seat of his Dodge Ram 1500. Here’s what I am hoping to find: Small fold and one handed fold, Durable, At least 50lbs weight limit (hopefully 55), Not easily tipped over, Upright seat, Bumper bar (or an option to buy one) So far I have seen that Bugaboo butterfly, Joolz Aer+, Babyzen Yoyo, and Nuna Trvl have been go to’s. I’ve looked at a few Cybex strollers, but no one seems to recommend them? I was SO close to buying the Bombi V2 then I saw someone say it’s easily tipped over 😭 HALP ME 😂😂😂

I have the Joolz Aer+ as my everyday stroller in downtown Chicago and it’s amazing, but I never encounter bad sidewalks. We also use it as our travel stroller and it’s great - I get compliments in the airport when I fold it up into a tiny piece one-handed! It also looks sharp.  Many love both the Joolz Aer+ and the Bugaboo Butterly - those seem to be the top travel strollers available currently. One differentiator is that the Aer has a foldable bassinet, unlike the Butterfly. Until recently, the Butterfly didn’t even have a bassinet option at all (which is why I didn’t get it when my son was born); now it does, but it doesn’t fold with the stroller like the Joolz bassinet does.  As for a full-size, from what I’ve read, Bumbleride strollers would likely suit your needs well. Those are said to be great for rougher terrain / bad sidewalks. Cybex is another brand that makes nice full-size strollers. Best of luck!

Agree with this. Don’t think you’ll need a full size stroller, personally. A lot of travel strollers and jogging strollers fill this role just fine. Joolz Aer+ and Bugaboo Butterfly are two of the best travel strollers - we use the Joolz as our main stroller downtown in a big city as well as our travel stroller.

Interesting post - thanks. We only have the Joolz. My husband and I are tall - he’s 6’4” - but I don’t think it’s caused problems for us. Another good one is the Bugaboo Butterfly - not sure if it is better suited for tall people than the Joolz, but it is very similar and people love it.

Are you in the US? I don’t think they have any flat recline strollers unforch but they do in Europe. I got the Joolz Aer+ which does fully recline (non-US only) and folds just as small as the yoyo but has a one handed fold instead of the 3 step fold of the yoyo. I’m also planning on using it from birth and using it as our only stroller. I did get the bassinet attachment tho since it folds with the stroller and I would have use for it around the house anyway.

I also got the Joolz Aer. We love to travel and have no where to store a huge stroller so we decided to start with a travel one and if we feel limited, buy a bigger one. But I see so many people in my city just rocking a yoyo or Joolz aer sized stroller so I think it’s more than enough!

I went with the aer+ as it has a flat recline and longer canopy when the fully flat, which is not a feature easily found. (as far as my small research went) The wheels are huge (for travel strollers) and great on most terrains as the front wheels can be locked as well. On top of that, it is sturdy and there is no need to baby it. The only 'downside' is smaller basket size (which i countered by getting a goosket stroller bag) and that accessories are an extra cost. The rain cover, though, is really easy and nice to use. However, I am also considering getting the minu v3 as it seems to tick most of my boxes. (Will still keep the aer+ tho)

We loved the Joolz Aer+ and while it’s technically a travel stroller (I think?) we used it as our primary stroller from infancy through toddlerhood and are still using it for our 3.5 year old. It rides surprisingly smooth, folds up one-handed, and the seat is tall/big enough to use with a toddler. Really the only downside is the smaller storage basket underneath, but that’s my only complaint. It has attachments to use with a car seat. I think it retails for just under $400 but you can find used ones for half that on fb marketplace. It’s been awesome for small-space living as we don’t have to worry about storing a giant stroller somewhere. We also have a yoyo but the Joolz aer is our preferred one for almost everything except situations where we need a super compact stroller - it’s just more robust overall especially once your child is older/taller.

I have the Vista 2 on recommendations and love it. We're expecting our second with just over an 18 month age gap between the two so I'll likely use it as a double. This was not necessarily the plan but I remember when considering between this and the Cruz I was given the advice of getting the option to convert just in case. That being said I walk almost every day and live in an area where I regularly walk to do grocery shopping and some other shopping so I love the basket space. As others have commented it moves like a dream even when loaded up. When talking about lugging it in and out of the car, we have a Rav 4 so pretty good boot space but it does take up a lot of it. When our oldest was 7 months we ended up going to London and needed a travel pram, we invested in the Joolz Aer+ as I knew I'd be on my own with the baby a lot so I needed something that was light and easy to fold. It moves pretty well for a lightweight pram but definitely nowhere near as smooth or easy as the Vista. However, the joolz aer is now the pram that lives in our car, and I'm not sure how I feel about going back to dealing with Vista in the car when the second comes. We'll likely use it while little one is in the bassinet so we don't need to buy further attachments but past that point I think it will depend on how well our oldest takes to the scooter attachment. I definitely prefer the Vista as a sturdier pram and far easier to maneuver (especially when I'm also walking our dog), and do miss the basket space when using the Joolz Aer. However, if I wasn't in a position where I walked almost every day, sometimes multiple times a day, I feel like it would've become a dust collector since getting the travel pram. **This perspective may change in a few months when the second one comes.

We have the Joolz Aer + and absolutely love it, you can buy the bassinet attachment or get the adapters and put a variety of car seats on it(We have the Nuna Pipa RX but they have a list of other compatible ones on the site) for newborn-6months. We live in NYC and use it as our main stroller and it’s a dream. Extremely light weight without feeling flimsy. Super easy one hand fold. Fits in our small closet. Fits behind the car seat in our small SUV. Navigates the uneven NYC streets with ease. The shoulder strap is elastic so it’s super comfortable on the shoulder when carrying it folded up. Also fits in all the plane above head storages we’ve been on (Jet Blue and Iberia) so perfect for travel. AND is aesthetically pleasing if you care about that lol. And it’s currently on sale for $336 for Black Friday and Cyber Monday

I’ve had the joolz for a little over a month, and so far it’s been the perfect stroller for all of my needs. It’s sturdy, turns are smooth, and has been easy to navigate curbs, stairs, hills etc. I have been able to easily carry it around folded with my little one in my arms, and open/close it one handed. We went to Baby Bunting to try out the travel prams. Our requirements were a decent sized basket, one-hand fold, and seat to be as upright as possible (my son doesn't nap in the pram anymore so we weren't fussed about the recline function). Narrowed it down to the Joolz Aer + and the Baby Jogger City Tour 2, and settled on the Baby Jogger in the end. Found a good deal on Marketplace which included the belly bar for free. You might want to consider what's included with the pram, e.g. Travel bag, rain cover, belly bar. It adds up if you need to buy them separately.

I love our Joolz Aer and if I didn’t have a hand-me-down Cruz, I’d probably look into adapters for a travel stroller for the car seat and/or bassinet. The aer handles so well. I can push it one handed. I don’t think you need something more heavy duty if you’re on well maintained sidewalks or paths. I’d start with a travel stroller and if you find you do want something else, look for a used Cruz or similar. Do not get a Vista. They’re big and bulky. I bought one used a few months ago because it was an incredible price and I’m already considering selling it. I could see liking it if you had the space and two kids close together in age.

I have a dragonfly and I absolutely love it but I do not take it on the subway. Even though it technically has a one handed fold it’s not easy and it’s still heavy. We use the carrier on the subway. I thought this would be our only stroller. But after 7 months we just also bought a joolz aer+ (used) because we have a lot of travel this summer where we have to fly. It honestly is fine for walking around the city. It just doesn’t have much storage. I think if you are traveling or really want a stroller you can take up/down stairs AND are set on only getting one stroller the butterfly would be the way to go. Just bc it is a little sturdier and has a little more storage than the joolz.

Yeh, I had to travel like 3 weeks before the skip3 came out so bought the Joolz Aer but if I was buying today I would likely get the skip3. Value seems a lot better than the other leading ones! OP didn’t mention the age of their child because this would influence me. Some older kids want to be pretty upright which the skip3 and Jools Aer are good for. Some may be happier being on a slight recline or are younger and need lots of recline which the skip2 has without the need to purchase the bassinet, unlike the joolz and the skip3.

I live in Hawaii and have taken my almost 3 year old on about 20 flights to the mainland or Asia and back. We're big fans of #3. The car seat makes it hard to do activities and things on the plane and if they get tired of it, there's no where to put it. If we have to fly economy then it's easier for him to lay down as well. I tested some prams and think I’ve narrowed it down - this is why I didn’t choose others (in case it helps anyone) -people seem to love yoyo but seemed much harder to fold than others, the woman at the memo could barely do it easily -bugaboo butterfly is over 7kg and want something that will always be allowed in the overhead compartment on flights -babybee miles is a bit flimsy Joolz aer+ is great but doesn’t really recline so I’m considering waiting until the aer 2 comes to Australia, as it will fully recline which will be good for naps on the go, but the one handed fold is smooth and I like the carry strap and it’s lightweight but feels sturdy- so this is my current winner but looking at the redsbaby skip 3 online it seems similar and is more affordable. Not sure if I should just go with that instead, but I haven’t been able to try it in person to compare. Does anyone have it and can say how they like it and if there’s anything you don’t like about it? Especially if you’ve compared it to the joolz?

It should be out by then (he said it would be out before my trip in October) - but for some reason isn’t approved by Australian standards for full recline, which is weird because there are travel prams along the market here with full recline. I think it may go back a bit more than the current version, but he didn’t answer me when I followed up to ask. The redsbaby does go back a bit further and seems really similar otherwise - I think I will either get that or just buy the current joolz when they lower the price to make way for the new one

I've bought the joolz aer+ and love it. It's on sale at the moment so might be a good option if you want to save money, I don't think it's super different from the aer2. Not sure what you mean by the lie flat portion feels cheap. However if you didn't love it, go for the butterfly 2 if you think it has better features. I don't think many people will have actually compared those 2 exact prams because they're both so new. Did you try the first version and prefer it because I imagine it's similar? I think as long as it fits in the example bin they'll let it onboard.

I love bugaboo and use the fox 3 for our main stroller. However, I chose the joolz aer+ because this was to be used as a traveler stroller and my main priority was lightness/size. I haven’t had any issues with storing it in the overhead on any flights except once on a very small airplane but I was able to store it beneath the seat in front of me. Second this. Also recently found out you can order the version with full recline from Europe. Someone posted a link and with shipping it was the same cost as I paid for mine here with the half recline. But it’s THE EASIEST one hand fold of all the ones I looked at. Small and lightweight and we’ve taken it on 4 different airlines with no issue.  It’s not cheap though! Side note though: always take the travel bag / case the pram comes in with you - we didn’t one time and they said you can’t take it on the plane without the bag and tried to force us to check it in - which I didn’t want to do incase it got damaged. We had to leave the check-in counter and literally beg a cleaner in the airport for a garbage bag to put it in. Probably just that shitty airlines policy but quite the learning experience

I've tried the Joolz Aer+ and it's a great stroller, but also quite expensive. I also have a Yoyo, which I sort of regret buying. Also - I'm a single mom who has done a few transatlantic trips solo with my baby/toddler, and now I have a (quite cheap!) Graco Myavo and I love it - one hand fold and pick up, super lightweight, big basket, and decent wheels. Only downside is that if you have a heavy bag on the handle and your child isn't in it, it will tip over, but if there's stuff in the basket that's not an issue. It is, I think, also slightly too big for the cabin of a plane, but I find it more convenient to gate check the stroller anyway.

Travel easily by plane + big wheels are incompatible right there. Big wheels make it so the stroller won't be compact/airplane friendly. I have a Joolz Aer+ for my car/travel stroller. The bassinet attachment folds with it, which is far superior to most compact strollers. I highly recommend it for a compact stroller. Takes up barely any space in the car so it is really good as a car stroller, pretty smooth ride for a travel stroller, durably built, has a lot of optional accessories. There are car seat adaptors for most infant car seats you can get for it. I would not optimize on whether your travel stroller works with the car seat or not - soon enough your child will outgrow it but you will still be using the stroller and a convertible car seat for travel. If they do work together, great. If they don't, no big deal. We have done far more vacations with a convertible car seat and stroller than we ever did with infant seat and stroller. It's better to get the stroller you like since you will probably only spend about a year with the bucket carseat and 2+ with the stroller and lugging a separate convertible car seat on vacation. Better to just use the Doona for the first year since you have it. Then get a separate outdoorsy/jogging stroller. A lot of people like Thule or Bob.

Joolz Aer is great for travel and everyday. Not great for rough terrain or if regular use involves needing to cart your groceries home in the basket. For car + sidewalk life + travel, it's fantastic. The Joolz Aer 2 also has an overnight approved bassinet so if you will be traveling during the newborn stage you wouldn't need to bring a separate bed.

It depends on your lifestyle. Are you driving to the stores, or walking to the stores? If driving, the travel stroller that folds up easily is a good choice. If walking, and you're going to be taking your stroller to and from the store and putting your shopping in the basket underneath, you're going to want something like the uppababy Cruz or vista that has a monster basket that can hold a lot. Do NOT get a travel stroller or compact if you will be taking it on gravel or trails. You'd want a full size or a jogging stroller. The difference is the jogging stroller won't hold as much in the basket, so it wouldn't be great for grocery shopping, though it would be better for trails. For walking around the neighborhood, any stroller will be good. We have an Uppababy Cruz for neighborhood walks and the parks and anywhere we go where we need a large basket (like if bringing a picnic), and a Joolz Aer+ (compact travel stroller) for my car, regular daily outings, and vacations. Both have bassinet attachments. Most people have multiple strollers for multiple purposes, because there's no such thing as one stroller that meets ALL needs, though many can meet most.

A compact travel stroller is fine for this as long as you don't need it for jogging or rough terrain. Walks on sidewalks? Fine. Walks on land trails? Not gonna work. I have the Joolz Aer+, which also has a bassinet attachment, and fits in airplane overhead bins. Lots of people like the Yoyo but it's a two step fold whereas Joolz is a one step/one hand fold. The Minu is fine but too large for airplane overhead compartments so you will always have to gate check. Every now and then, airports do weird shit with gate checking so if you need to stroller to get through the airport, you may want the option of bringing it on board. We do if we have a connecting flight. Be aware that the tradeoff of going with a compact is less basket space.

r/BabyBumps • Is it possible to have just one stroller?? ->

Just get a second travel stroller. The Cruz and Vista are BEASTS that travel strollers really don't compare to. If you'll only be traveling occasionally, just buy something cheap that you can gate check. The Cruz is my neighborhood/zoo/vacation with terrain stroller. Then I have a travel stroller for the car/shopping trips and most vacations. If you just get a travel stroller and use it on rough terrain, you may find yourself needing to buy a new one anyway if it breaks. Also, I suspect many of them just won't roll well on it. I have a Joolz Aer+ which I think is pretty similar to the Minu in terms of wheels and handling but it struggles over, like, flat dirt with some rocks. It's really got to be on something paved. If you are a 2-car family, it is also convenient to have a stroller for each car.

You won’t find one w a deep recline suitable for a newborn in the US bc of safety standards, you’ll have to use a bassinet attachment or buy from a different country, but that’ll be $$$$. My travel stroller is a Joolz Aer+ and I frickin love it. A true one-handed open/close.

We had the Joolz Aer Plus but returned it because I was hitting my feet on the axle in between the rear wheels (I am tall), and so we now got the Minu V3. It’s honestly a huge disappointment after seeing all the hype about the V2. Unlike most people who compared in store, we compared them on pavement and that’s where the main flaws showed up. 1) build quality doesn’t compare at all to the Joolz. It’s so plasticky and cheap feeling. 2) the handle bar squeaks after one use. Saw another reddit post with the same issue so it’s not just ours. 3) front wheels have massive play and so they do a huge clicky sound whenever pavement is not smooth. Joolz wheels were dead silent and smooth in comparison. It honestly feels like a cheap toy with plastic wheels. My first reaction was to troubleshoot the wheels and do a warranty claim because I can’t believe it’s supposed to do this. 4) It’s very hard to turn one handed in comparison to the Joolz which is effortless one handed. 5) it’s much heavier, but that is the only point we knew was a cons versus the Joolz before ordering so nothing new here. Now it does have some pros versus the Joolz: 1) seat recline is both easier to operate and larger range, letting you using it from birth 2) buckle is easier to operate 3) it doesn’t have an axle between the rear tires so if you push the stroller close to you and have long legs, you won’t hit it (the main issue that was a dealbreaker for me on the Joolz). 4) basket has better access If you are not 6’6" there is no hesitation to have. In fact my wife wants to get the Joolz again and be the only person operating the stroller because of how bad the V3 is in comparison, and I can’t really argue.

I own the Uppababy Cruz and knew for the travel pram I wanted to go with the most compact option and one that would be able to fit in overhead bins of tue aeroplane. After research and testing travel prams in baby bunting, narrowed down our options to the Joolz Aer + / Bugaboo Butterfly / Babybee Miles (although haven’t tested this one as it’s online only). Between the Aer+ and the Butterfly, the Aer+ was more compact, folded easier, and steering/manoeuvrability was better. While the Aus version of the Aer+ doesn’t recline fully, bub is still able to nap in it. Recently took it overseas and was able to store it on Jetstar and Qantas overhead bins.

I very recently made this exact decision! They both seem like really nice strollers but I heard more from people who loved their butterfly. I like that the butterfly accommodates taller kids because I have a tall one year old. It also rubbed me the wrong way that you have to buy the footrest separately for the joolz aer+. I ended up finding a butterfly on Facebook marketplace for a good deal and I love it! I wish it could sit up a bit more (it’s still very slightly reclined when it’s all the way up) but it doesn’t seem to bother my toddler

Have you picked out an infant car seat yet? If so, starting with the car seat and see what lightweight strollers are compatible would help you narrow down the options quickly. Without knowing much about your car seat, our experiences are: Nuna car seat & Yoyo for the 1st one. For baby 2, we're going with Nuna car seat & Joolz Aer +. Yoyo was great for city walks, lots of international plane rides (I flew a bunch solo with my child). We're switching to Joolz this time only because I like to try something new. In the store, I barely could tell any difference between the twos.

ok I'm back!! trying it out n my neighborhood really helped me decide its not the right choice for me! I went on a 30 minute walk on sidewalks with some hills. because the strroller is so light, it puts more effort on you to keep it steady and that got tiring QUICKLY and i usually do that walk with no problem. becaues at every driveway on the sidewalk it wants to roll towards the street. also if i crossed the street, the wheels would have trouble getting up the driveway ramps and i'd have to tilt it. also do you ever like lean elbows on a grocery cart to text on your phone? if i tried that on the Joolz because its so light it would buckle. and the underneath storage is very very minimal. it wouldnt fit a diaper bag, maybe just a big handbag. and because the stroller is so light you wouldnt be able to hang a diaper bag from the handle. that being said it definitely was easy to fold, the bassinet with it was cute and the forest green color was gorgeous. i think it would be fine if youre just going to the mall/grocery/appointments, but any kind of outside walking to go to the park or the beach would be undoable with this long term i think

Travel friendly, extremely lux European brand and allows bassinet attachment/ car seat so it’s perfect to use from birth. If you are in a typical urban/city living it will be perfect. Don't fall for the Uppababy hype. While it is a well built stroller,. it is overkill and after using other lightweight strollers feels way too heavy. They are also too big to travel with imo, even in cars unless you have a big SUV or Van. Great if all you are doing is walking flat ground to the park. One exception is possibly for the first couple months when your baby can't hold their head up yet, then it is nice to have a stroller with a bassinet or car-seat compatible options. Maybe see if you can borrow one for those couple months and then switch to something lighter after. Or just use a carrier for those months. (Although the Joolz does have a bassinet option also) If I was starting over I'd probably just go with one of the Joolz light weight stroller that also is easy to travel with. I've heard good things about the yoyo also. We took the Joolz Aer to Europe, fit in the overhead compartment and handled the cobble stone streets great.

Having just purchased a travel stroller, we looked at the stokke yoyo, bugaboo butterfly, uppababy minu v3, silvercross jet 5, and joolz aer -- all comply with most overhead cabin sizing. I would recommend also purchasing the stroller case/carrier so it looks more like a standard carry-on. Some airline staff might make you gate-check regardless of size once they see that it is a stroller. Having the cover/case will reduce that issue.

We use a travel stroller 100% of the time, two kids. I almost bought a Yoyo but stopped at Spouts on Union to test it and the Joolz Aer was far easier to close one handed than the Yoyo. So I recommend that. Its about 20 months old of daily use and wheels are fine. My first kid I had a heavy larger stroller and I’d hit corners and doors in stores all the door and one time the BART elevator was broken and then the escalator stairs broke half way up. Because it was mid day and lots of SF folks are peter panning themselves, no one helped me drag it upstairs. That sucked. That was the last time I used that stroller and transitioned 100% to travel stroller use. Also my first kid preferred to be baby carriered. My 2nd kid hated it after infancy - so each their own there.

Though one advantage of the Butterfly is that it is more popular so it seems much easier to find secondhand and cheaper. Honestly I think you'll be happy with either so maybe just get whatever you can find cheaper.

We have a Vista and a travel stroller (Joolz Aer, but were close to getting a Minu). We love both. I would definitely go Minu as main stroller over Cruz. The upside for the Vista is that it’s a tank (we do full grocery shopping with it) and it is expandable to a double which we now use with 2 kids. The Cruz (IMO) has none of the benefits of either (not expandable for 2, still big/heavy to have in trunk, can’t try to sneak it in for overhead). Friends have used the Minu/Joolz/Nuna TRVL as their primaries and as long as they’re not trying to carry large loads in the basket, they’ve been happy with it. Our sidewalks are beat up, and the Vista made pushing a stroller a dream, but in our Aer we have been able to navigate just fine. (For reference we’ve probably put thousands of miles on our Vista and hundreds on the Aer). The one handed open/close on the Aer for us has been a game changer, and was so clutch when we visited NYC and were navigating the subways which don’t have elevators. It also fits in overhead. Minu is a direct competitor so I think it has the same perks (only diff is that it isn’t certified to meet the airplane requirements unless if they’ve shrunk it slightly, though friends managed to sneak it in overhead). Hope that helps!

If you are planning on only walking in the city, meaning flat sidewalks and parks and such, I think a compact travel stroller will be fine. We have a high quality stroller that’s quite bulky that we used a lot in the beginning, but we also took walks on more even terrain where the big wheels were needed. It took up most of our trunk whenever we went anywhere. So after a year we bought one of those compact travel strollers (Jools Aer+) and we’re very happy with it. If we lived in a small apartment in the city, it would have been enough for us.

We love our Joolz Aer! We didn’t get it until baby was a year old though, so we don’t have the bassinet, but I’m seriously considering getting that as well for our second child. We have the Joolz Geo2 as well, which is also very well-loved, but the difference in transportability is pretty significant. The Geo means an entire trunk full of stroller, while the Aer folds up and fits in the leg room behind the driver’s seat. It rides really smoothly, the biggest struggle is curbs and potholes. We took it on holiday and went on a nature walk, and when the terrain was too uneven for a bit, it was so easy to just carry our kid and lift the stroller over the tricky path.

The Joolz Aer is a great NYC option! I personally have the Bugaboo Butterfly, which I've heard is quite comparable to the Aer. I also have a much larger stroller but I find myself reaching for the travel stroller (Bugaboo Butterfly, in your case the Aer) far more often. I believe it's actually the smartest move to go with a travel stroller if you live in NYC. Sometime elevators don't work at the subway and you need a quick easy fold, with a one handed carry -- boom, Aer checks that box. Sometimes you need to jump in a cab and again have an easy fold -- boom, Aer. Going out to dinner or walking into a shop you want something compact that can fold down easily if need be; again the Joolz Aer has you covered here. And yes, to answer your question the wheels can handle the city for sure. The question you may run into is if you also want something bigger for grocery runs, park picnics, etc where you just need more cargo space. Many NYC parents (myself included) ultimately realize they need two strollers. But if I had to pick one, I'd go with the travel stroller. By the way, I work at GoodBuy Gear and I'm writing from this account. Check out our website if you want an open box Joolz Aer (or Butterfly) at a great deal. And holler with any other questions!

We just used a Joolz Aer with ride on board for our 5/3 yos in the Azores. It has a seat. I could easily push it on the narrow sidewalks alone one handed and it was fab in the airport. Anything heavier/bigger would be hard to maneuver on narrow sidewalks. Depending on the city it might be ok but I really did like the narrow width of the Aer in that context.

You can collapse it to make it a bit shorter, but to be honest, it will be a bit annoying finding parking for it inside Disney. But you’ll probably love it for everything else. We use the fold down seat for our toddler and baby site in the front. It will take up a large part of your trunk. But that’s kind of what you get with a double tank. Another joolz are will give you ultimate flexibility when it comes to the fact that it’s small and ultra portable.

Joolz Aer all the way! I have that and the Peg Perego Agio Z4 which we had hoped to use as a double stroller, until baby 2 took 4 years to arrive. Both of the strollers are great, but if I had to choose only one I'd choose the Joolz every day of the week. Great little stroller, easy fold, so compact, so easy to toss into the trunk, I can even carry it and my kid at the same time if necessary for whatever reason. We bought it when we took an international trip so we could put it in the overhead, but it's the stroller we grab most at home these days too. Perfect for city life. Only caveat is that we didn't use the Joolz during the newborn phase. Up until about 6 months, we'd use the Peg Perego with the carseat and parent-facing options.

We have the Aer (got it before Aer+ came out) and have been using it for more than a year and a half. I have the bumper bar (I wish I could use the Aer + one that folds with it!) but chose not to get the footrest and haven’t really had an issue with it. My 2 year old is on the tall side and still has tons of room to grow. I haven’t flown with it but would have no hesitation to. I picked it because the fold was smoother, it is so incredibly easy! The storage is a bit smaller but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me. We use it as our main stroller Monday to Friday for walking to daycare and small errands and can keep it folded up easily at the front door of our condo. From the reviews I read the Joolz was a bit smoother than the Bugaboo but I guess it seems to go either way with different opinions, if you can try them both out that would probably be a good idea.

I ended up with 2 with that setup: a full size one that’s great on all terrain/weather (I have the bumbleride era) and a travel stroller we use day to day for shorter trips and can fit in a car or take on a trip if we fly (we got the joolz aer). The combo has been perfect!

I’ve done both. I like the Uppababy full size stroller since it’s a lot easier on uneven sidewalks/potholes, and it’s nice to have all the extra storage for groceries, etc. I’ve also done the travel-sized Joolz Aer and it gets the job done but nowhere as smooth as the Uppababy, and there’s very little storage. We were able to keep the strollers in the lobby of our (walk up) building, so the folding wasn’t a top priority

I have a Joolz Aer and love it (with the foot rest attachment), my son is 11mo and 90 percentile too and fits fine. I use this pram far more than my Redsbaby nuvo and that's because it's just easier to take around. We've had no issues travelling with it, and my son has slept in it perfectly too. I am however contemplating getting the redsbaby skip3 once I have tested/seen reviews because I feel like where the Joolz lacks, the redsbaby is so good (better basket space + better recline). In saying that, I'm very happy with my Joolz and I'd be happy to keep that, I just feel a sense of loyalty to redsbaby haha!

The trike is not easier to bring up and down the stairs 😂. I have a joolz aer and it’s way easier to pop it up and down and sling it over my shoulder than move the trike which is light but bulky as hell. I strongly recommend not going that direction. Does your toddler go up and down the stairs by themselves? Can you explain more about it being too much to handle? I find the travel stroller so easy to break down/sling over my shoulder. Is it just the weight? I haven’t tried that stroller but it’s half the weight. Does it have a strap/one hand fold?

Had the Joolz Aer and it worked fine as our sole stroller. Light, compact, and held up like new despite walking it everyday in every weather for hours at a time. This is really cool! But I wouldn’t have split the Joolz Aer and the Joolz Aer +. The plus is the newest model, you can’t buy the Joolz Aer anymore. They aren’t two separate strollers actively available for purchase you can choose between. I noticed you didn’t have the original Vista or Cruz and only the V2 listed for example. I assume that not everyone said V2 for those as so it’s kind of the same thing. Really cool research!

I think it depends on a lot of things! We have both, and I love our travel stroller (Joolz Aer) but I couldn’t use it for everyday. I walk to the grocery store with my babe often and the basket on it is way too small. We go on walks in forests and on non stable ground, plus it snows where I live and the wheels wouldn’t be able to handle it. Also with how much I use my stroller I don’t think the travel stroller would last. Small and compact is great for travel but it takes away from longevity if used daily. Maybe none of that matters to you though! You have to consider how often you use your stroller, where you use your stroller, your climate, your activities etc…

I'm really surprised by the amount of people recommending using carseat strollers. Baby can't lie flat in those! They are not recommended as your every day stroller, you need a bassinet attachment. Personally, we went with the evenflo 360, had a cheap bassinet stroller (bugaboo) and then switched to joolz aer once baby could sit up comfortably.

I recommend getting a high quality travel stroller over a full sized one (bugaboo butterfly, joolz aer, or yoyo). I have both and most people much prefer the travel stroller except for my 6’3” husband (travel strollers don’t have adjustable handlebars). The suspension on this larger stroller class is SO nice if you’re doing miles of walking like we are. If you don’t go on super long walks then a single compact foldable stroller like joolz aer or yoyo should suffice. Also the storage in the vista is awesome for grocery shopping etc

It’s not that big. It fit in the trunk of a small hatchback (Subaru crosstrek) very easily. And it’s a one handed folding stroller which is so much nicer than the monstrous Uppababy Vista (though has less space etc). We used the Joolz as soon as we took our first plane ride which was 4 months in. It’s super light, fits in overhead bin, and very sturdy. It’s survived about 20+ plane rides, we traveled a ton with it. You will want the adapter to connect the Nuna Pipa to the Joolz, if you go with that system. https://a.co/d/gKhedQ5

I haven't flown with it, but I use Joolz aer day to day. The handling is absolutely miles better than my previous flimsy travel pushchair, the fold and carry strap are great, and the canopy and rain cover are really high quality. Downsides are the zip down recline isn't the most convenient and you have to buy expensive extras that should come with it (footrest, bumper bar). First I bought a cheap travel pushchair thinking I wouldn't use it often, but ended up using it all the time for nursery run and bus/tube - and I always hated the canopy and getting it up kerbs. And eventually I bought an expensive one anyway for baby 2...

I own both a Babyzen Yoyo and a Joolz Aer. We use both for travel and here is my view on both: 1) Joolz Aer folds up with one motion; Babyzen Yoyo has a two step process. If you are on your own with a baby, the Jools Aer makes a lot more sense; please note, the Babyzen Yoyo has a smaller footprint when folded. 2) You can't fold the Joolz Aer if the belly bar is attached (it has to be removed prior to folding); you can fold-up the Babyzen Yoyo with the belly bar attached (but it will not fold as compact). You can fold the Joolz Aer with the footrest attached (it retracts). You can fold up the Babyzen Yoyo with the footrest attached but you need to re-position it in a certain way before folding and after folding. 3) Joolz Aer is not universally accepted as a cabin-friendly pram - often you have to prove to the check-in staff that it can fold compact; the Babyzen Yoyo is universally accepted by check-in staff 4) Joolz Aer can be wheeled down an airplane aisle but can knock into seats; Babyzen Yoyo easily wheels down aisles because it is slightly narrower 5) Joolz Aer will flip over when a heavy rucksack is hung on the handlebar; Babyzen Yoyo will not easily flip over 6) The Joolz Aer basket is a good shape and can store a lot; the Babyzen Yoyo basket is an awkward shape but can store a little bit more 7) Both the Joolz Aer and Babyzen Yoyo have adapters that can mount car seats (when our daughter was a baby, we used to fly with our Cybex car seat) 8) The seat angle of the Joolz Aer is better than the Babyzen Yoyo. The Joolz Aer is more upright and gives more back support. I bought the pram sit-up straps for the Babyzen Yoyo, but they didn't make much difference 9) We didn't like the bassinets for either the Joolz Aer or the Babyzen Yoyo - they were too low and could cause back ache. We bought the Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 with its bassinet instead - the bassinet was a good height 10) Joolz Aer spares can only be ordered from Joolz direct - there are also no authorised dealers that handle repairs (in the UK where we live). Babyzen Yoyo spares can be bought from eBay and there are authorised places that can do repairs. Joolz Aer have a better guarantee - we broke the basket frame and they sent a replacement for free 11) You can push the Babyzen Yoyo with one hand - it's less effort pushing that the Jool Aer. However, the Joolz Aer has a smoother ride and soaks up the bumps better than the Babyzen Yoyo - I guess because it has a slightly bigger footprint 12) The Joolz Aer is slightly more expensive than the Babyzen Yoyo in the UK Personally, there isn't much difference in either the Joolz Aer or the Babyzen Yoyo. My wife prefers the Joolz Aer and I prefer to Babyzen Yoyo. If you have a baby, the Joolz Aer is going to be more practical and more stable. The Babyzen Yoyo is better for toddlers, where stability is less of an issue

The current model lies flat, folds easily and can be unfolded with one hand, fits in plane overhead compartment, and is lightweight but sturdy and decent ‘suspension’. It’s my daily pram and I’ve taken it on 5 overseas trips plus many miles in the city and trains/overground. I’ve used it with a Lascal buggy board (I think the mini board, but the Lascal fitting guide website indicates all boards should work with the Joolz aer and aer+) with no issues. but for me buggy board has mostly been to carry a bag or suitcase - my kid is pretty happy in the pram still.

We love our Joolz Aer - great for limited daycare parking, stairs, subways, packing into Ubers, etc. I know people who use it as their only NYC stroller and love it, although I’m a firm believer that you need (at least) two strollers - the travel stroller like the Aer and the SUV like a Cruz. The SUV is for local trips where you need the basket for all the baby stuff and playground toys, walking around the city nearby where you want the comfortable wheels, trips to the supermarket where you need somewhere to put the groceries, for the second kid when you need a roller board that you actually not go crazy using, etc.

The Joolz Aer is great for paved sidewalks and everyday travel where you don’t need to go over really large bumps or cobblestone pathways. It’s good for playground/library and appts. It folds compact easily and you can bring onto subways and public transport. We have the Bugaboo Butterfly because we liked that the basket underneath was slightly bigger so we could also fit some groceries underneath. What both the bugaboo and the Joolz is NOT good for is the rough terrain of Central Park. We tried it and it was terrible. A lot of the Central Park winding paths have bumpy roads because of the large tree roots so it was such a pain to maneuver. We now take the UPPAbaby Cruz with us when we go to Central Park. Overall, the Joolz is great. We have several friends who have it for travel and use in the city.

You don’t neeeeed, but I won’t lie, they’re nice to have. We’ve gone through several: we have the big boujie one which was my first big pregnancy purchase. It converts to a double, and has a huge storage basket. We use this around the neighborhood. It got a lot of KM during mat leave and still does on our daily walks/trips to the park! We have the bugaboo butterfly for travel. It fits well in the car and is easy to lug around. We had a jogging stroller (hand me down) which would’ve been great for snow or running, but if I was out with the stroller, I had my dog who is not a runner 😅. If you have space and live in the suburbs and want to go on trails and runs, I think it’s totally worth it to have multiple strollers for different occasions. If you live in the city and are tight on space, I’d spring for a fancy travel stroller (namely joolz aer) for which you can purchase a bassinet and car seat adapters and use that as your workhorse. I emphasize fancy because the features, suspension, folding mechanism on the premium models will make things a lot more pleasant.

Same I love my joolz for all those reasons. I do NOT understand why people are still recommending the yoyo as the best travel stroller. It’s small but it’s so rickety it feels like pushing a dolls pram around. Also, the fact that a travel stroller requires 2 hands to close is absurd. How is that supposed to work when you’re out travelling and you have a baby in one arm, a diaper bag slung over your shoulder, and a shopping bag in the crook of your other arm?

I wish I skipped the big ass stroller. Depends on your lifestyle but we are usually house-car-shop/or resto or appointment and back and baby is fine in the Joolz Aer. However I do prefer her chunky stroller for walks around the neighbourhood because the pavement here is crummy.

We live in rural AB and have two - a Thule urban glide which we use for our outdoor adventures/neighbourhood walks and is a jogging stroller. Our other is a Joolz Aer which we’ve used extensively for international and domestic travel, as well as our day to day shopping, and trips to urban centres! We splurged and got the bassinet and used that for the first 6 months which was nice! We got infant car seat adapters for both strollers but only used them a handful of times - I was much happier to baby wear or use the bassinet attachment. Now that LO is just about 2 and we are expecting our second, we bought a double Thule chariot to have the option of strollering with two but predominantly to use as a bike trailer. Our older one is on the cusp of not wanting to stroller much, and we plan on increasing her walking distance now that the second will be the primary stroller user.

We have the Ergobaby Metro+ , SIL has the Joolz Aer. I tried both and I liked both. If you’re only using it here and there, I’d go for the Ergobaby. If you will travel a lot, maybe the Joolz would work better as the build was a tiny bit better compared to the Ergobaby. The Yoyo felt way too small as there was barely any room in the basket under.

We have the Nuna swivel car seat, it’s awesome. Baby is now 17 months and it’s still rear facing, can swivel it to forward facing when she’s ready and getting in and out of the car is a breeze. 100% recommend. Favorite on the go, easy travel stroller is joolz aer. OMG that thing is great, airline approved, sturdy, one hand fold. Perfect for on the go anywhere. Those are my two recommendations! I am also a Bumbleride stroller fan which I have as well, but that’s because we do lots of walks in parks/off the beaten path. I had both the indie and the regular one and both are awesome, but bulky because of the tires.

I'd get a foldable buggy, like Joolz Aer! It's super convenient, you can strap in your toddler and not worry about him/her running. Also there's room for all the toys for sand or groceries in the basket below.

I was going between those and the joolz, leaning towards the joolz. I ended up with the yoyo because id heard some gate agents gave you trouble bringing it on if it wasn’t a yoyo, even though people would say its “like a yoyo.” The fold isn’t thaaat bad. It does take 2 steps/2 hands, but once you get the hang of it it’s pretty easy. We started with the 6+ month pack and car seat clips, then bought the newborn pack right before we took our first trip, then found a bassinet for cheap and used that for a few months. Now we have the footmuff, bug net and parasol for our trips to cold and tropical locations later this year ha- my only real complaint is the pretty useless basket under it.

Travel stroller that can go in the cabin with you. We have a Nuna mixx as our main stroller but got a yoyo for travel so we don’t have to worry about it getting damaged by the airline. We’re in control of our own destiny if something breaks lol It fits in the overhead of even tiny E175 regional jets! You can get a newborn pack, bassinet and/or 6+ month seat pack and car seat clips for a bucket seat. We ended up with all of the above and it’s been awesome! I believe the 3 main ones that are within overhead dimensions are yoyo, joolz aer and bugaboo butterfly.

I live in a city on the third floor of an apartment building with no elevator and nowhere on the ground floor to store a stroller. I also walk a lot and don’t drive very often. I thought I wanted an Uppababy Vista because that’s what everyone seems to deem as the gold standard of strollers but after a family member with a Vista visited us, I realized a Vista would be truly useless for me because I would not be able to carry it up and down the stairs. Especially not with a baby in my arms. It literally weighs 30 lbs!! I went with a Joolz Aer because it has a bassinet option, it quick folds to become super compact with a carrying strap (even with the bassinet attached), and it only weighs 13 lbs! My baby isn’t here yet but I’ve already tried taking it up and down the stairs and I had no difficulty at all. Of course, it’s not going to feel as substantial and sturdy as a Vista or any other similar boat of a stroller, but when it comes to practically, it makes so much sense for us. It has a really great warranty, too. We also checked out the Stokke Yoyo, which is what we originally thought we wanted, but it felt super cheap and insubstantial to us and we didn’t like its bassinet at all. And we checked out the Bugaboo Butterfly which we actually loved but it doesn’t have a bassinet option and that’s important to us. Overall, I think you’re definitely on the right track with looking into travel strollers as a primary stroller for city life. In my opinion, it’s really the only practical option unless you have ground floor storage space or a large and easily accessible car trunk to keep your stroller in.

We did a lot of travel with our now 2.5 year old. Is he already 2 years old? If so, legally he will need his own seat. For me personally, we got her a seat since she was around 15 months old because she was too wiggly and can use the extra space for her to stretch out, play and sleep. Flight logistic: Typically, airline will serve meal 1 hr after take off. If your little one is a heavy sleeper, that could work. My daughter is typically a good sleeper, and during our recent midnight flight (flight departed at 12am), thankfully she was sleeping through the entire meal service. We pushed our schedule a bit later that day so she nap at around 3-5pm and was able to stay awake until take off. Car seat: Will you need a car seat at your destination? If so, you might want to bring it. We use the cosco scenera next which is very compact and lightweight, and fits in the airplane seat. But if you don't need the car seat, you can leave it. I typically bring an inflatable foot rest - it helps my daughter to rest and to prevent toys falling down to the ground (so we don't have to bend down to pick it up 1000x). Stroller: I have Joolz Aer and I loved it - although I wish the basket is a bit bigger. Other option is the ergobaby metro 3, a lot of my friends have it and love it. Or the bugaboo butterfly. Some airline only believe that YoYo is the only stroller that can fit in the overhead bin. If they don't let you bring it as a carry on, you can gate check them. just put a stroller cover (like the travel bag) on it before you gate check because mine has been damaged from being gate checked. Tips: lots of new toys, snacks and allow screen time! Offer breastfeeding during take off and landing, the sucking helps with ear pressure. If he refused, get him to drink water. juice or suck on lollipop. I love the melissa & doug water book, stickers and play doh. I used to hate play doh but she loves it and keep making the same "snowman" for 30+ minutes haha. Lastly, I haven't been to Portugal yet but I heard it is so kids friendly and the foods are amazing. Have lots of fun and most of the times, our kiddo surprise us (in a good way) during vacations.

I have it and I have another travel stroller. It’s mostly good with good wheels but I don’t think it lies down flat enough like the other I have ( silvercross jet ) also the basket is def big enough but I find the seat just to be too short and not long enough.

When I first moved here I thought it was silly seeing so many Cadillac sized strollers with big wheels- seems contradictory. But then I realized its the cobbles stones, albeit not so wide spread in Berlin, I’ve now traveled with a stroller to Copenhagen, Prague and Lisbon and the bigger the wheels the better really or else they get stuck between stones. Thats why in Berlin and CPH buggaboos are so popular. Also, easywalkers, joolz and joie.

Also love the Joolz and I want to add that their warranty is transferable, which was a draw to me when we're ready to sell it. I'm not sure when they started this in case you want to look into getting it second hand.

I just went through this same decision and spent hours painfully researching, also went to try both of them out in person. I finally landed on the Joolz but haven’t used it with baby yet so can’t really vouch for it, but a few reasons I chose it: it is a little bit lighter, I liked the handle better, people seem to like the carry strap more, the push and maneuverability seemed more smooth. I also felt like I found more people on the internet that were team Joolz, but honestly it seems like both are really good options. Once you add the bumper bar and footrest it’s nearly the same price as the butterfly + bumper bar. I actually found a Netherlands site that sells it for cheaper than in the US and since it is the EU version it has a lay flat recline.
