I’d bring a stroller either way. Kids get tired and overwhelmed easily when traveling. My son got overwhelmed with TSA and the airport in general and wanted to sit in the stroller, normally we’d have to fight him getting into it when we’re out and about. Traveled with 3 under 3 last year and we sucked it up and brought the full double tandem with bench seat to haul all 3 (Joovy Qool equivalent to the mockingbird) it was a lifesaver being able to shove the kids, the personal items and diaper bags in one place while my husband dealt carrying the other stuff. I’ll be solo traveling and taking my youngest soon and as much as I wanted to get a used single travel stroller, I will be bringing the full sized stroller again (with only one seat this time) just to be able to haul all my bags and car seat and still at least have one hand free if needed.
r/toddlers • I don’t know what stroller to take through the airport! ->We got a Mockingbird stroller second hand for $150 on FB marketplace which was an amazing deal. Has second seat capability, functionality, and even a ride on board attachment in case 3 are in your future. Can get a bassinet attachment too.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->When you say third floor, I'm assuming walk-up? Then as others have said, City Baby Jogger. Again, I agree. FB Marketplace used. They're all over there. I bought one from 2011 for $25, still works perfectly. You can take the whole seat off an wash it in the machine. That being said, we had a full stroller and my baby disliked the City Baby Jogger until over a year old in comparison. The basket is also really small, and you can't hang anything on the handles because of the design of it, it'll tip over. If it's not a walk-up and you walk a lot, I love our Mockingbird. Would be terrible to load into a cab or lug upstairs, though, but it's fantastic if you have an elevator and can do walks. I also think that strollers are one of the most stressful things, and I've never met anyone who didn't like the one they got. So, really, I'd say pick they style you want the most, identify 1-2 must have features, and just go for it.
r/NewParents • Stroller Recommendations ->They're just smoother in all capacities. From the ride to the way the bars and wheels clip in and out. We have a Mockingbird, generally considered mid-range. We like it a lot and felt it was a good compromise.
r/NewParents • What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco) ->There’s definitely an overwhelming amount of options… You can definitely do a combo one that’s the car seat and stroller like the Doona. I think this is best for people who live in big cities or travel a lot. I personally don’t think they’re worth it.. you gotta buy a new car seat and stroller when they get bigger. You could get a bigger, travel system which is a good deal. Something like an UPPABaby vista or a mockingbird for a more budget friendly option with a car seat adapter is very nice. These also usually have options for a bassinet or an infant insert so you don’t always have to use the car seat! They’re very nice strollers with lots of storage, high weight limits, lots of accessories and can really last you a long time. The downside is they are pricey and often very heavy/take up a lot of trunk space! Another option is a travel stroller. Many people use these for every day!! There’s many options these days.. some top ones are the Zoe line, Buggaboo Butterfly, UPPAbaby Minu.. there’s many more. These sometimes can be used with a car seat, are often under 20 pounds, fold compactly, are great for toddlers, great for travel, more budget friendly! Downsides are often not best for infants unless it’s one with a car seat adapter, have less storage and not as many bells and whistles. So.. I chose 2. I went with the Mockingbird which is so nice and we love it. It’s great for babies with all the attachments. Worked with our Chico Key fit car seat and is a nice push! Adjustable handle bar was nice since my husband is a lot taller than me. But it’s really heavy for my small frame and took up my whole SUV trunk. So I also got the Zoe Tour. It’s also amazing!! It’s 13 pounds, folds flat, takes up a fraction of my trunk, great for travel and my toddler loves the snack tray and being able to sit fully upright. I keep that one in the trunk and the Mockingbird in the garage for walks. Lastly, check out The Stroller Mom on Instagram or YouTube! She does full videos comparing strollers and doing in-depth reviews of the most popular brands! That’s how I picked my two!! Good luck!
r/BabyBumps • Confused by strollers, what do you recommend? ->Have you checked out the mockingbird at all??? A fraction of the price of the uppababy and we love it just the same.
r/NewParents • What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco) ->This will sound silly, but for me, color was the most important thing. Unless there’s no other option, I only buy pink things (pink furniture, clothes, toiletries, etc.). I picked out car seats and strollers that came in pink, and then narrowed it down from there based on features. Ended up with the Uppababy Mesa V2 car seat and the Mockingbird stroller!
r/BabyBumps • How did you choose a stroller and car seat? ->I would highly recommend a double stroller if you plan on having kids back to back or around 3 years ! I got my mockingbird for free off marketplace ! Even Flo pivot is a good one! You don’t have to spend $1000-$2000!!!
r/BabyBumps • Where to start with strollers and why is it so confusing! ->I’d highly recommend the mockingbird. We have it and absolutely love how versatile it is. It grows with your baby and has so many useful features like the ride along board and snack tray, all very similar to the uppababy at a more digestible pricepoint. You can also pair it with a ton of infant car seats, just make sure you get the right adapter! mocking bird has the adapters right on their website so they make it really easy.
r/BabyBumps • Which stroller do you use and why? ->The Doona seems so convenient but I don't like that if I have a larger baby they may grow out of it faster. I will probably still need to get another stroller on top of that later down the road when they want to be sitting up and looking out more. Definitely look for one that will grow with baby. I had the Mockingbird with my first and loved that I could buy the car seat attachment for my specific model but still had the seat saved for when he was about 9 months old and could sit up. Love Since cost may not be a deal breaker, I think some of the Nuna's allow you to put in the car seat and won't need a separate stroller.
r/BabyBumps • stroller + car seat recs? esp. Nuna or Doona - FTM feeling overwhelmed ->just spent a month researching. my takeaway: Nuna - loved this one the most (mixx or trvl xl) but all of the carseats/accesories make it extra pricey. my fav uber premium option uppababy- i found these all to be kind of rigid and too large. didn't like the vibe but its obvs popular mockingbird - decided on this one and so far love the balance of quality and price point. truly feels strong but also premium, while not being huge, and almost all the features feel obvious instead of buried silver cross - if you really want to go with the most premium it is indeed very nice. graco Modes nest - solid budget option. felt a little on the light/fragile side for me but if lightweight with versatility is important, this one isn't bad at all bugaboo - maybe the one i tried was a janky floor model but i didn't think it was smooth at all. nuna/mock crushed it
r/beyondthebump • Best stroller/travel system ->I have a Graco car seat and the Mockingbird stroller. I probably would have gotten a Graco stroller as well, but I plan to hopefully have a second kiddo pretty quickly and liked that the Mockingbird converts for 2 kids! There’s absolutely no reason to spend a ton of money on a stroller/car seat. Spending $1000 vs $400 is unnecessary in my opinion when products like Graco are incredibly highly rated. I would highly recommend going to Target or somewhere similar to see options in person! I did this mostly to try out car seats. Some are really heavy even without a baby in them!
r/BabyBumps • Best stroller/car seat/combo ->I live in a 2nd floor walk-up and I’m pretty much set on getting the Joolz for my 6 month old. I’ve been using a Mockingbird that I bought secondhand, it’s hefty and pretty much a tank. Would love something lighter. However, I did really love using the bassinet attachment with the Mockingbird, and I would definitely recommend a stroller that has the bassinet option like the Joolz. To be honest, we even used the Mockingbird’s bassinet as the baby’s main sleep space for about a month lol.
r/NewParents • Infant stroller - Joolz Aer + or Nuna TRVL LX ->I went middle of the line with a Mockingbird, and the only thing I can say is I went on a walk with a mom friend and she said her only issue with the uppababy is that her wheels get a little stuck and she can’t always turn smoothly. My stroller moves smooth as can be.
r/NewParents • What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco) ->I have twins so my options were limited, but we got a Mockingbird. I love it but that thing is HEAVY and it barely fits in my RAV4 trunk. If I had to do this again, I would lift/move the folded up stroller to really test it.
r/NewParents • Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought? ->I'm not a doona owner, but something to think about is whether it makes sense for your height. I see people using the doona, and I feel like it could only be comfortable for shorter parents. I'm 5'9" and I know I'd be leaning down and knocking my feet into it while I walked. I have the mockingbird stroller, and now that we're having a second baby (today!) I'm converting it to a double. And we got a second mockingbird for my husband's car. I really like having a bigger stroller. Room to carry groceries, room for the baby to grow, and room for my long legs to walk without bumping the bar.
r/beyondthebump • What do y’all think about the doona? ->We did a lot of travel baby’s first year. We have the Mockingbird and absolutely love it. I know a lot of people feel like the bassinet attachment is unnecessary, but we loved having it. It made us more comfortable to take long walks with her and not worrying about “container time”. Plus it folded down so easily to travel and we got away with using that for travel sleep instead of the pack and play for the first 6 months. Made travel a lot easier and even trips to friends houses easier so she always had somewhere to nap. And very excited to get more use out of it with our second. We do love hiking, but don’t use the stroller much for it as it felt more inconvenient and heavy than just baby wearing.
r/BabyBumps • Am I being naive in wanting an absolute UNICORN of a stroller? Or do I just need to accept that I actually need three strollers? ->We ended up going with the mockingbird, the suspension is pretty good and the wheels are pretty big but sometimes its a little hard to navigate bc of size but the storage is fabulous and you can get the bassinet attachment (we didn’t). It does work with quite a few car seats (I would check the list on their website to make sure it would work with what you need). When we travel (which we only did once) we had to gate check the stroller but it was nice to use in the airport. Plus I loved it bc I knew I would be able to use it into her older toddler years and then add in a second seat for a second kid (so I wouldn’t have to buy another stroller in a year or two). The hunt for the perfect stroller is hard tho, but I say keep looking and don’t settle!
r/BabyBumps • Am I being naive in wanting an absolute UNICORN of a stroller? Or do I just need to accept that I actually need three strollers? ->IMO it’s not worth it. I hated leaving my baby in the car seat in general and I don’t like how low the baby is to the ground, plus I’m 5’9” and husband is 6’4”, so it never really looked like an option for me. We had the mockingbird with the bassinet attachment for when she was little and loved it, it was bulky but served us very well.
r/BabyBumps • Help me understand -- Is Donna worth it? ->We got a Doona as a gift and it’s been amazingly convenient. I will be sad when he outgrows it, but we also have a Mockingbird (which is apparently very similar to the Uppababy but far less expensive) and it’s much easier to push on grass and dirt.
r/NewParents • What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco) ->I would skip the travel system. Buy a car seat and a stroller that you like. A lot of brands have adaptors to fit whatever car seat you want (I think Chicco is the exception here - they don’t have adaptors for their strollers). We got a Chicco bravo/keyfit travel system with my oldest. He HATED that seat and we switched him to a convertible seat by 5 months. We reused it for my second and she ALSO hated it. I got a nicer Graco seat for her and it changed everything. We also weren’t huge fans of the Chicco stroller but it folded easily and was one of the few at the time that had an adjustable handle height. We ditched that stroller for a nicer one (mockingbird) with #2 (I suggest starting with a single to double stroller if you want to have more kids in the future) and the nicer stroller had a universal car seat adaptor, but we only took her in the stroller in the car seat a few times. I primarily babywore whenever we went shopping and the stroller is just for walks. You can skip the bucket seat all together if you want and go straight to a rotating seat (we have the Chicco fit360 and love it), the bucket seat is just convenient for taking into the doctors office or wherever when they’re super fresh or getting them buckled in inside in the winter/summer.
r/Mommit • Help! Drowning in a Car Seat and Sea of Strollers - Need a Lightweight Safe Travel System for a Newborn that they can grow into. ->We went with a Chicco travel system the first time around and didn’t realize how bad it was until we upgraded. The kids also both hated the car seat. Couldn’t justify uppababy so we got a mockingbird and we love it. Plus both seats have the higher weight limit. We really enjoy the versatility and have used it in sooo many configurations.
r/Mommit • stroller recommendations ->Double for sure. We took our oldest to Disneyland at almost-3 and used our mockingbird and it worked great so I’m sure an uppababy would work. Only think we discovered was that we might prefer more basket storage at Disney so we’re talking about getting a cheap side by side the next time we go (with both kids). You definitely want one where both seats recline for naps
r/Mommit • Looking for Double Stroller Advice (Especially for Disney + Daily Use with a 3yo & 8mo) ->I have the Zoe twin and I love it! I had a mockingbird and while it was nice, it was so cumbersome and I hated having to get it in and out of the car. The twin is much easier and it's good quality. My 3.5 year old is a little short, but he still fits great in it.
r/SAHP • Travel/Everyday SAHP Stroller advice? on Zoe Tour vs Joolz Aer+ ->Everything you hate, I love☠️ The only thing is I did not buy the uppa stroller, I went for the mockingbird instead and am so glad I did!
r/NewParents • Product Regrets: 3mos in! ->The mocking bird stroller has a Graco adapter and adapters for several other brands. It also handles nicely on our old sidewalks.
r/beyondthebump • Stroller Recommendation? ->We got the mockingbird for my twins. It folds to decent size. You can get double or single and was compatible with lots of car seats. The only thing is idk how it does with snow.
r/Mommit • stroller recommendations ->We have the Mockingbird stroller and got the adapter for our Graco infant car seat. It’s been a great stroller! Sturdy, smooth ride walking around the neighborhoods, huge basket in the bottom great for grocery shopping. And half the price of others in its category (UB, Nuna, etc). Friendly customer service too.
r/BabyBumps • Best stroller/car seat/combo ->Mockingbird!!! With the car seat attachment. We’ve had it for 3 years and 2 babies and purchased the second seat kit when second was born. I have not a single complaint it’s easily in our top 5 baby items
r/BabyBumps • Where to start with strollers and why is it so confusing! ->I got the Mockingbird and added Maxi-Cosi infant car seat.
r/pregnant • What Travel Stroller system did you go with? ->i got the mockingbird (having twins) because i plan on getting the nuna pipa rx seats and they have an adapter!
r/Buyingforbaby • Any suggestions for cheaper strollers that would work with a Nuna Pipa Aire or RX car seat? ->We have the mockingbird stroller and love it! It’s easy to collapse and open, drives really nicely, and works for both me (5’6”) and my husband (6’). It also has a bunch of options for accessories like a bassinet, cup holders, more storage, etc. We got the Clek Liing car seat and adapter for the stroller and it works great. The Clek Liing infant car seat is the best for safety but you will need to replace it when baby outgrows it. For when that happens, we got the Graco extend2fit 3-in-1 so we can keep baby rear facing as long as possible. Would recommend all 3 if price is not an issue!
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->I hated my Graco stroller and ended up switching to a Mockingbird instead which I love. It’s a bit bulky and heavy but it steers like a dream and is super secure
r/NewParents • What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco) ->I gate checked my mockingbird with a travel bag and had absolutely no issues. 🤷♀️
r/Buyingforbaby • Do I really need a travel stroller? Or would you gate check your Nuna Mixx Next? ->I have the dlx and I stead opted for the mockingbird stroller with the closest attachment. It hold alot more in the bottom and can easily have 2 seats or 3 with the scooter board. So for me it was worth it since we plan on having 1 or 2 more kids. <3 and you can usually get the mockingbird stroller on sale or use target circle offers on it through target.
r/BabyBumps • Hoping to hear some opinions on the graco snugline and its accompanying stroller base. I’m torn on which we should go with for our baby. ->
