We've had the mountain buggy since they were born and used the car seat attachment when they were tiny. It's kind of cumbersome but not too bad. We started just putting them in the seats (fully reclined) when they were \~3 months old and that has been great. We have put literally thousands of miles on this thing and flown with it several times and it's still going strong. Our twins are now almost two--I can only imagine the MASSIVE TANTRUMS we would be having every day if we gave them the opportunity to fight over the top/bottom stroller seat. The side by side works much better once they start getting jealous imo.

I have the Mountain Buggy Duet and I also have the Bugaboo Donkey. I honestly find the Mountain Buggy so much harder to maneuver one-handed. The Bugaboo Donkey is SO smooth. Plus every single detail of the Bugaboo is so much nicer, including the way the seats recline and how much cover the sun shade provides. The only thing that I like about the Mountain Buggy is how narrow it is and how good it is on rough terrain. Other than that, it just feels... cheap. But the narrowness is actually becoming a downside for my 90th percentile toddlers, who seem a lot more squished. I bought it to travel with, and it is fine for that, but I definitely prefer my Bugaboo for daily use.

i had a stacked pram (an icandy peach) when mine were little and they were perfectly happy in it, but i absolutely hated it. like you, i thought it would be much more convenient but it turned out the opposite imo. i didn't like that i could see one baby but not the other, nor did i like that one baby's view was blocked; the stacked format added length which made it so unwieldy and heavy, and the weight distribution was unbalanced because it's so long, so it was really difficult getting over kerbs and steps and things; and having to disassemble and reassemble it to get it in the car was such a pain. in the end we switched to a side by side (mountain buggy duet) before they were even 1, and i regretted not having it sooner. i absolutely loved the duet it was SO MUCH EASIER (and cheaper! luckily i managed to recoup a little bit money on the icandy but i felt genuinely guilty selling it to someone as i hated it so much!).

We got a mountain duet from Facebook Marketplace, as it's the same width as a wheelchair so will fit in shop doors etc. we do occasionally go on the bus, whilst the pram space won't really fit us (can try but we stick out into the aisle) the wheelchair space is fine.

We used the duet carrycot when they were babies, it also served as the perfect place for day naps to follow us around the house. It does have an option to convert into parent facing seats as well although they kinda get slumped to the middle so we only used it for a month or so then switched to the proper world facing seats (which can be folded up unlike others where you have to take the seats off to fold). Currently 1 year olds, no sign of growing out of it. Would absolutely get again, have loved it for walking, running, shopping, outings etc. (We did have the carseat adapters but never used them, haha, but you can definitely get some - ours were maxi cosi)

I used the mountain buggy for my newborn twins. Just had the seats flat and put an insert in that gave them support. It was great. I never wanted to have them in their car seats for walks as it isn’t a great position for longer rides. And side by side was always going to be my choice. Bought it used and sold it for $100 less than I paid when I bought a Bob dualie when they were almost 3.
