I went with the Silver Cross Reef 2 for the stroller and the Clek Liing for the car seat. I opted out of the bassinet option for the stroller since it has a lay flat seat and is compatible from birth. The stroller is beautiful and it feels very study. The wheels have great shock absorption and the basket can carry quite a bit. It is a heavy duty stroller and is great for walking, but I don’t think you would want to travel with it or be constantly loading/unloading it. I love the car seat since it doesn’t expire for 9 years, has a bunch of additional safety features, and materials do not have flame retardants.
Second this. Have the reef 2 with the Nuna pipa aire rx car seat.
Ftm and we were gifted the silver cross reef 2. I love it and it feels so luxurious. I mostly keep this in the car for when we go out.. Easy one hand fold and unfold, it’s just heavy to load in and out of car but I went to see some other competitors and it was virtually same. I previously had purchased the maxi cosi tayla travel system bc I got it for a killer deal and wanted a second car seat. You can feel the difference in ride from both strollers but I appreciated how transformed into bassinet and seat easily. We used the bassinet a lot. I keep it for neighborhood walks and it’s parked inside the home.
I have the silvercross reef 2 and loved it more and more as I used it. Personally I didn’t like the fox 5 when I tried it at JL
I’m 162cm tall so we’re almost the same! I’m also definitely not strong, lifting my son is the only weightlifting I do. I’ve only ever had to lift it in/out of the car or bump it up steps It’s a small thing but I really like that the break pedal is in the middle rather than one side, much more convenient. The magnetic clips for the seat straps make it much easier to quickly buckle and unbuckle. The salesperson for us pointed out that every button/feature can be controlled one handed and that’s a big plus, didn’t realise how big of a plus it is until we had our baby! I find it very manoeuvrable and good on bumpy ground. Finally the basket has great storage but that’s less specific to the reef 2 and you’ll get that with lots of similar prams I got a set of pram hooks and handmuffs from JL too which I highly recommend for pram accessories
We have silver cross reef 2 and it handles all the bumpy sidewalks great. The wheels are big and has good shock absorbsion.
I have a Silver Cross Reef and I love it. While it doesn’t come with a bassinet (you can buy it though, I just didn’t think it was worth $400), the seat is lie flat and newborn compatible. It’s pretty light (at least to me) and moves great. Plus it just looks fantastic. But it’s definitely a splurge.
We have the silver cross reef set and like it! We bought the bugaboo butterfly for travel and tbh now that bb is 6 months we use it allllll the time. It’s so compact and easy to fold! Consider one specifically for air travel!
Another vote for Juulz Aer! My Silver Cross reef is just so bulky and heavy and hard to use.
