Summer Infant - 3Dmini Convenience Stroller

Go with a descent umbrella style stroller. I bought a Summer Infant something something Lite for about $50 for a trip to England. I expected it to be toast after 4 weeks travelling. Used it for 6 years before handing it off to a friend.

This! We started traveling with an umbrella stroller at ~6 mo old. She’s now over 2 and we still use it.  Gate check it- it’s nice to have a place to set baby while at the airport. We have the summer infant one and it’s fantastic!

3 total with a 13 month old: - Bumbleride Indie All-terrain/Jogging stroller (our everyday) - Summer 3DMini Umbrella Stroller (our travel stroller) - MEC Bike Chariot (can be used as a jogging stroller but we only ever use it on our bike)

We had the 3-D summer infant lite, super cheaper and lightweight, umbrella stroller. Used it all across Italy and was great. Then upgraded to the GB pockit, slightly heavier, more expensive, but folds up and fits into the airplane as a carryon.

If you’re going to use it every day, it makes sense to splurge a little if you want. We used our uppababy every day until our daughter started walking. We got tons of use out of the bassinet feature because she napped in it during the day. We also live in a neighborhood without sidewalks so we needed something really smooth. My only cons are its big and it can be a little tricky to fold. We got a $50 summer brand stroller for travel thats also great because it folds up small and is lightweight. You can absolutely get one second hand but I would check children’s consignment before like facebook marketplace.

Ive had two kids, very different systems in place. Cost was my biggest concern basically. Baby 1 Bed: uppa bassinet + jolly jumper rocker stand. Stand was $10 used. Bassinet came with the stroller Stroller: used uppa baby from fb marketplace. Paid $100 for the stroller, seat and bassinet. Came with a snack tray. It was around 8 years old and an outdated model Car seat: safety first seat that stayed in the car (not a system), but that adjusted from infant to 50 lbs. Cost about $300 Once baby could sit up, I ditched the uppa baby because it was too big. Opted for a Summer 3D stroller that was super portable. That cost about $80 Baby 2 Bed: ingenuity bassinet (not relevant, but showing that we didn’t have a bassinet attachment). Bought used for $30 Stroller: graco modes that we got from a friend. They gave us the whole system with the car seat. Free, but valued at $450+ brand new, and worth mentioning that this is difficult as used car seats should only from a trustworthy source. Also still had the summer 3D mentioned above, and that was compatible with the Graco snugride Car seat: graco snug ride mentioned with stroller. Free from a one-and-done friend. This baby will need a new car seat when we grow out of the bucket. She will use that summer 3D stroller exclusively when that happens as I looove how light and portable, yet sturdy, it is. Baby 2 didn’t have a bassinet stroller attachment. She is 4 months old and would be outgrowing it now. We are huge on baby wearing, so we didn’t have her in the stroller much for walks around the block. Note that dad did a lot of the bigger walks while mom was recovering. Used ergo baby carrier: $15 Sorry for the long read. All this was to say the answer doesnt need to be black and white or fit in a box

We have the Cruz and love it. I have never used a Minu so I can’t compare, but we do have a summer infant travel stroller with small wheels that drive me crazy. The Cruz handles so smoothly and has a great basket underneath. We use it constantly, and it’s in great shape after almost 6 years of consistent use. The piggyback board is great for an older kid. I think it just kind of depends whether you will have to be loading it in your car often or not. We are in the city and don’t have to drive much, and if we do we take the travel stroller. I am 5’3” and I find the Cruz super easy to maneuver but wouldn’t want to have to lift it into a trunk all the time.
