We have the Uppababy twin travel stroller (the G-link) and we really like it! Lightweight, compact, and has held up well on multiple trips.
I traveled to Europe last summer with a 3yr old and 18 month old. I used the uppababy G-link double stroller. It was actually great, handled the cobble stone streets well and closes and opens up really easily. We took it on trains and fit inside the trunk of cabs easily. Has some storage underneath as well which is always handy. We still use this stroller regularly and kids are almost 5 and 2.5.
No doubt, traveling with two little ones is tough enough, and bulky strollers just add to the stress. But you can definitely find lightweight, versatile strollers that include bassinets and work with infant car seats. Models like the UPPAbaby G-Link V2 and Baby Jogger City Tour 2 fold compactly, are easy to maneuver, and switch from single to double easily. As a mom, I totally get the overwhelm of endless stroller research, [this thread with top double stroller](https://www.reddit.com/r/KeepThisInMind/comments/1lourwj/recommend_the_best_double_strollers_for_travel/) reviews really helps clear things up and can make your travels smoother.
We got a Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 for side by side. I don’t love it. The straps are annoying and the basket isn’t as nice as the Uppababy or Bugaboo. My twins are a little over 2 and we recently got a Larktale Wagon that is awesome - it’s our new go-to. We live in a big US northeastern city where we do a lot of walking - lots of old, narrow sidewalks and tight shops. Our closest twin friends have a Bugaboo and don’t have any more issues than we do with the Uppababy. For the vista - it’s long with both seats set up, so it also has some issues with maneuverability around tight corners in shops. We also got a smaller side by side when they were about 1 - the Uppababy G Link that we keep in the car for errands we drive to and travel.
We have the uppababy g luxe for our travel luxe for our travel stroller and it has all of the features you’re looking for. I’m pregnant now and purchased the uppababy g- link which is the double version of the g luxe. Our daughter is 3 and can easily get in and out of it by herself, it has a good recline, and also has a large basket.
We took our 20 month old in an umbrella stroller. But if you do an umbrella, and i definitely recommend them in Italy, esp Rome, it has to be a solid one. We had an uppababy umbrella stroller (great wheels and shocks), which did AMAZING on all the Rome cobblestone. Also folds up super small in restaurants and easy on trains. Was also great to recline the baby while siteseeing or when we had late dinners and the baby was sleeping. That stroller incredibly made it through over 20 cobblestone cities throughout Italy and Spain over the course of 5 years. We couldn't believe the wheels still hadn't come off! (This is not a paid advertisement lol) PS. Carrier is fine (I brought one too) but wore it maybe once because the stroller was too easy and comfortable. I used the carriecarre time when climbing a very narrow spiral staircase in Florence but never used it again for that first trip.
Used uppababt is the way
