We brought our Uppababy G-Luxe umbrella stroller on our last cruise and plan to bring it on our next one. It meets your small footprint and reclining requirements. I think it's also a really good value. If we were doing the parks, though, I would probably bring our Uppababy Cruz since it's more comfortable for both our kid and us when walking long distances, carries more stuff, and would still fit under the stateroom bed when folded. It helps that we've flown with it before and have a travel bag for it (which I think my spouse found on a local "buy nothing" group). That being said...aren't you going to have non-Disney requirements for whatever stroller you get? I know plenty of people with car-based lifestyles who only need a compact stroller to cover short distances, while we live in a walkable city neighborhood and put a couple of miles a day on our stroller. Sleeping in the dining room is going to depend so much on the kid. Ours would have stroller-napped there at seven months but absolutely would not have at 14 months.
r/dcl • Stroller recommendations ->I think this may depend on your stroller. We have the uppababy g-luxe for travel and there is no way I'd be able to fit the cosco next in the basket - I have to squeeze our diaper bag in. It would probably work in our full-size stroller.
r/toddlers • Travel toddler car seat with stroller - why isn’t this a thing? ->I have the Cruz and ended up buying the UB G-Luxe used off Marketplace for $75. It doesn’t fold in the overhead but gate check is great and it’s usually there as we deplane. I don’t think I’d ever open the stroller on the plane and it’s just another thing to carry if it did fit in the overhead. When my LO was about 1.5 yrs, she actually preferred the G-Luxe over the Cruz and we started using it more regularly outside of travel. My two cents - if you’re going to buy the UB bag, just buy a travel stroller. Try finding used if you can as it will be thrown around - on the plane, back of the car, etc.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Buying a travel stroller vs using Uppababy Cruz on trips [on] ->We started out with a Chico bravo primo which has been great, came with a car seat that clicks in and a base. Think about 600 for everything. Very solid and really nice folding feature for half the price of the uppababy we were looking at. We also looked at the little stroller car seat combo thing but I’m 6’5 and it was way too short for me to comfortably push and had no storage iirc. Lately we don’t need such a large stroller and don’t need the car seat as much since he’s just about sized out of it height wise. So I picked up a uppababy Gluxe which is a very small form stroller that takes up much less space. No car seat compatibility but I don’t need that anymore. Think it was 200 new or like 170 open box on Amazon. Love it so far. My main issue is traveling. We did about 12 flights this past year between 6 months and 18 months of life for our son. I refuse to check bags. So the combo seat stroller was great. As soon as he hits 2 this summer I will likely pick up a way B to go with our new small form stroller so we can continue not checking bags.
r/daddit • My wife has a crazy addiction to buying strollers. So we’ve tried em all. ->I have a Cruz for everyday but also a gluxe for travel. Still very comfy for naps and has nice huge cover. Was gifted a gluxe 2nd hand for traveling thinking it would die on our many treks across Asia and Mexico. Still going strong but I did buy a new one for $200 on sale. Sturdy, reliable and I really like it. Folds up like an umbrella and stands too.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Stroller recommendations, smaller than vista but more comfortable than a travel stroller [on] ->We have an Uppababy Gluxe and travelled so well with it (10 cities across Asia, Europe and Mexico with infant). Went down far enough for on the go naps, big canopy, decent storage below and was sturdier than some of the really light, tiny strollers I was looking at. We hung bags off it from shopping and had no issues. Big wheels make a difference on certain terrains.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Recommendations: Everyday stroller that is also good for traveling [on] ->For $200 I got a new uppababy gluxe. We received an older one and liked it. Found it very sturdy cause I have a Cruz too and like the brand. We did at least 10 trips on various planes and trains with it and it was great for naps, relatively light, stands straight up and good canopy. Nice big wheels for sand and cobblestone etc.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Help me pick a travel stroller! [ca] ->I’d recommend Nuna. Super easy to install, buckle, and manage. I like a travel system, but for the first year only. Once you get past that, your priorities shift and it becomes more about having something that is compact and easy for on-the-go. That’s been my experience for all three of my kids. Maybe it doesn’t bother others as much? When you’re finished with the travel system, the Uppababy GLuxe is a great lightweight option.
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->I found a used Uppababy Gluxe on marketplace for $75. It was barely used, folds up like an older umbrella stroller but worked great and easy to gate check
r/BabyBumpsCanada • Best travel stroller [ab] ->We have the uppababy g-luxe (on our third kid) and it is a great one for travel and regular outings. We use an infancy carrier clip in frame until we move into a convertible seat (around 10ish months for our kids usually) and then into the bigger stroller. But it does have a reclined position so you could probably use it from 6+ months
r/BabyBumps • Do most people have and use both a regular stroller AND a travel stroller? ->I had a Graco system at first and it was awful! the taking the car seat in and out of the car was not for me. I ended up getting a Maxi Cosi car seat with a baby jogger stroller, then eventually an uppababby g-luxe for amusement parks, malls, etc.
r/BabyBumps • Where to start with strollers and why is it so confusing! ->I agree with this. If you can afford it, you’ll love it, if it’s too much, theres other nice strollers. We live in the same town as the HQ and went to a big sale they had and got the Cruz and the G Luxe.
r/NewParents • What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco) ->Uppababy G-Luxe is our preferred travel stroller — it reclines almost completely, it has an extendable UV sunshade, it’s got a great carry strap on the back and a deep storage basket on the bottom, it came be completely taken apart for cleaning (which was handy when our toddler had the most epic blow-out of all time while in it) and when folded it fits neatly into the closets on DCL.
r/dcl • Stroller recommendations ->I had an Uppababy G-Luxe for my first child which was absolutely amazing for napping on the go. It reclines flat and has a great built-in sunshade. Here's a link to an open box one for $150. https://www.albeebaby.com/products/uppababy-open-box-2018-2019-g-luxe-stroller-jordan-charcoal-red-stitch-silver I'm sure you could score one used for much less, though! Folding it is easy. Now that the baby world has moved on to the "micro compact" folding strollers the old umbrella kind is less in vogue, and thus cheaper. My child napped all over Europe in that thing! The downside is that it's not as easy to carry when folded as a micro compact stroller. If you think you'll only fold it on the monorail, etc, then that's not an issue. If you want the ultimate travel stroller and don't mind spending more then I recommend the Babyzen Yoyo. Ease of travel with it is unmatched, and it also reclines for napping. I can't give you a great nap comparison because my second child (who used the Yoyo) just outright refused all on-the-go naps. It wouldn't have mattered if she was in Baby Yoda's floating bassinet! LOL
r/DisneyPlanning • Stroller that's great for naps? ->We purchased and brought the G-luxe but I think the stroller stayed in the stateroom closet the whole time. I ended up baby wearing her in our Artipoppe Zeitgeist the two times we got off the ship and carried her around the ship.
r/dcl • Stroller recommendations ->I have the Uppa Baby and Nuna TRVL. Both are great for different reasons. Just remember - if a stroller is on the market, it has to do through in depth testing to get there. It wouldn’t be for sale if it wasn’t safe. Same with car seats, there really is no bad option. They all work. It’s what works best for you!
r/BabyBumps • Confused by strollers, what do you recommend? ->100% worth the money - you'll use it everyday - and way easier to roll & fold than other options - also very sturdy
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->Conversely we are still going strong with 3 kids on it used daily. 9 month old in a seat and then my 2 year old and 4 year old switch off who is in the seat and who is on the board standing.
r/daddit • Wife is 15 weeks - went down a stroller rabbit hole… ->We got a chico keyfit 30 travel system with the activ3 jogging stroller for our first kid and then got an Upupbaby when our second came. They're definitely expensive and the Upupbaby is probably overpriced but they're both amazing and well worth the investment. If you can afford the premium it's a solid buy.m, especially if you can find them used. Just make sure any car seat combos aren't expired. You'll obviously be fine with a Graco, but there's definitely a big jump in quality that's worth it for how often you'll be pushing these things around.
