"I cannot fit library books, my bags, or much really in my yoyo basket. ... by library books, I mean the large children’s books. I have to unhook the basket and squeeze to get them in. "Finally, you need two hands to unlatch and unfold it. ... While, these may sound like minor inconveniences, imagine doing that while holding a baby in one arm - impossible! Because of this, I have no faith in being able to travel alone with baby."

"You can't fold Minu with the adapters attached if the canopy is on it! That was our biggest annoyance. Every stop we had to put on or take off the adapters becuase we were somewhere hot and sunny and couldn't go without hte canopy. Totally defeats the one handed fold."

"In a hurry, closing the Minu took forever and if it closed wrong, it would be all messed up."

"it wasn’t great for travel (we got the Uppababy travel bag but you had to remove the back wheels to fit in, and it’s too big for the overhead compartment on the plane) ... so much so that I have no confidence that I would be able to travel with baby alone without my husband"

"The Uppababy Minu is a horrible travel stroller, when there are so many better options out there. ... I have the V2 - it doesn’t fit in the overhead bin so you have to gate check."

"It doesn’t fit in the overhead compartment, so you have to gate check it. ... Even to gate check it with the official Uppababy travel bag, you have to take the back wheels off for it to fit (not a big deal if you have another adult with you, but can’t imagine doing that alone while wrangling baby)."

I wonder if the strollers are different in different markets (or regulated differently). In the US, the V3 is considered safe for infants. I got an old V2 anyway bc I wanted to use the bassinet.

What car seat do you have? Get the Minu if you already have an uppababy car seat. Otherwise I’d get something cheaper. FWIW you can usually get a V2 for 150-200 used.

mom of one with a second on the way -- If it markets itself as newborn ready, I think that recline should be fine. the "flat" idea is just so they dont slide around. don't get the metro+, unless they've made improvements I haven't seen to the canopy -- you'll want lots of shade for your newborn. i LOVE my original Minu (and would love the V2 even more), but the Joolz Aer is slightly more travel-friendly if that is important to you. It is small enough to bring into the airplane cabin if you're concerned about gate checking and is lighter/smaller. And you are smart to prioritize one-hand fold, that is crucial! And the reason I do NOT like the YoYo.

Thoughts about the uppababy MINUs - Minu v1 I think this is the only version that has a collapsible bassinet option. I do not think you can buy this version from uppababy anymore or the bassinet accessory. I’ve seen these floating around Facebook marketplace sometimes. - Minu v2: uppababy just stopped making Minu v2s but all the accessories are still available at their website, and lots of Minu v2s are still in stock in most retailers and goodbuygear. I previously had a Minu v2 and I absolutely loved it. You can get car seat adapters so it can be compatible with uppababy’s car seat and bassinet attachment (which is safe sleep approved), and then at 3mo you can start using the regular seat. The only thing is you need to uninstall the fabric seat to use the bassinet with the adapters, but I didn’t need the fabric seat at the time anyways. -Minu v3: uppababy just released this version, it is about the size of the bugaboo butterfly now so it can go on the overhead compartment of the plane. It has sturdier wheels than the butterfly and is “newborn friendly.” Unfortunately uppababy decided not to make the traditional bassinet compatible with this stroller, but the seat almost lies flat so it’s “not necessary.” It does have car seat adapters though so that is helpful. None of the minus have reversible seats. But the Minu v2 has the bassinet that you can have facing toward you. Note on the YOYOs: I have less experience with the yo-yo, but i briefly used the newborn attachment and I really found it handy. It was nice to have a super compact stroller in tight spaces where I could potentially lay my little one for a nap in a friends house or restaurant. The yo-yo also has a bassinet shell that can be used, and car seat adapters for the nuna. However I think you have to use one adapter/set at a time (you can’t keep the newborn attachment on under and attach the car seat on top. ) The yo-yo2 and 3 frame is the same, but the yoyo3 fabric seat has a much better shade coverage. If you get the full stroller and a newborn pack separately, definitely get the yoyo3 and not a yoyo2. Alternatively you can get the yoyo2 and separately buy a yoyo3 color pack.

I’m so excited for the minu v3! I used the minu v2 with an adaptor for my newborn so I could use the bassinet and car seat. So if for any reason you don’t like the v3’s newborn features, I would say get the adapters. The minu is so travel friendly I love it!

We use an Uppababy Minu V2 for our “light” stroller because it is significantly more capable than an umbrella in a pinch. The compromise is that it costs more and is a bit heavier. On the plus side, I have a good suspension and if I get stuck having to go through a grass field because a path is closed for maintenance I’m going to be a lot happier.

I’m 6’0” and my 6 month old daughter is 97th percentile for length. We have an Uppababy Minu V2 and an Uppababy Ridge, that combination has worked well as we travel with the Minu and take it into places without much space and go on longer walks or into inclement weather with the Ridge, which is a substantial jogging stroller.

This is exactly what my wife and I did, and it has worked out well. If we are headed to the mall or doing general errands we take our UB Minu. If we know we will be going over uneven terrain we have an UB Ridge for that. We are very happy with both strollers.

Depends on your lifestyle I have both - Cruz and Minu Cruz is great and a must if you live in a big city. You can walk around, buy stuff and put it in its big basket. I live in a suburb now so I don't use it that often anymore Mini- good for flying and airports but other than that, I don't like it that much . It's also not a great travel stroller in my opinion, maybe if I had another one I could have had a different opinion But overall, if you live in a big city, like to walk around a lot, or if you are in a suburb and want to do super regular outings . And have a big car - get Cruz If you are not going to use it often or have limited space , get a travel one. Not minu though lol Also remember some kids don't want to use the strollers once they are walking which could be around 1 year or so

I have minu 2 and don't like it. The seat is super low , you can barely put anything in the basket . And there's no good support at the base either so it feels like the kid is sliding down on that thing esp when in a reclined position. Not sure if Minu 3 is better in this regard

Anyway, lots of these things depend on lifestyle. How much will baby ride in the car? Where and how will you store the stroller? What kinds of terrain for the stroller? Bigger street curbs are easier to navigate with bigger wheels, same with getting on buses. But a too big stroller is hard in stores and restaurants in a city. One thing I like about Uppababy is it is easy to get replacement parts so I had no fear getting a used one. Another thing I didn’t anticipate is my kid likes facing me, originally bought Uppababy Minu to be The One Stroller, but kiddo needed to face me. We’ll hopefully still use it in the long run some!

I think the biggest thing I didn’t know was that my kid would want to face me instead of look outward. She would just cry and get overwhelmed. Still likes seeing me at 18 months. I originally got a Minu V2 bc I wanted just one stroller, but that only faces out. Got a used free Cruz V2 which can face out or in. It is the perfect everyday stroller, much more manageable size than Vista and even though it is big for travel we take it bc kid is more comfortable in it than the minu. Also Uppababy is great if you need new parts/customer service/refurb. The free used Cruz needed some parts replaced and it was really easy with Uppababy bc you can just order any part from any model pretty much.

I think you’ll find that ‘one and done’ is difficult with strollers. I got an Uppababy Minu V2 trying for one and done, and my gal decided she hated facing out so ended up adding a Cruz. I would think in terms of two strollers for that reason. Still likes facing me at almost 2, so still don’t use Minu. I think there’s often an unforeseen issue with one stroller when you are looking at compact travel friendly ones. I haven’t found it difficult to travel with the Cruz or lift it into the car or whatever though, so I would recommend it as a general stroller.

I have the uppababy vista v2 and minu v2. The vista is really big and I’m 4’11 so it’s hard lmao. But I find that my LO is probably most comfortable in the vista. Minu is amazing for its size and easy to fold out and up. Only thing is I feel like my LO barely gets a good fit in it. He’s always “falling over”. Don’t be afraid to shop around. Also think about how often and where you’ll be using your stroller the most.

If you are planning to use the car seat with the stroller then the stroller itself does not need to be “newborn ready”. You just need the adapters to fit the car seat to the stroller and you use that. The relative cost of different strollers amortized over the time you will own them is nothing, so not really worth sweating over $250 vs $400 unless you are struggling to pay for your trip. Over even 5 years of use that is less than $3 a month difference in cost. We have a Minu V2 we used with the Aria as a travel system from newborn on. It worked pretty well. That being said, I would probably buy the V3 if buying now. Just because of the full carry-on certification and more convenient unfold. I hate having to spin the stroller around to find the latch. On the Vista we fold and unfold way less so it doesn’t annoy me, but the Minu is all about folding and unfolding so the newer V3 design is a real improvement. The advantage of V2 is it works with the bassinet if you have one. We loved using the Minu V2 as a mobile bassinet in the house for the first few months. Either way, having a second small stroller is great. The Vista V2 we have stays at home all the time and rarely gets put in the car. The Minu is what gets take out unless we are doing something where the big size and bigger wheels of the vista is really advantageous. Be aware that the Minu with smaller wheels is a bit harder to navigate in an urban setting with bumps and curbs, but much better inside tight spaces like restaurants or retail stores other than grocery stores. The Vista is nicer for walking to the grocery store since the basket can hold an entire shopping trip and we don’t need a cart or bags at the end.

We have the minu v2 and our 4 month old struggled in it, she looked very flopped over and uncomfy in it until closer to 6 months! (But love the pram itself and its handling, and I also assume it’s an issue with all travel prams because they are super soft not solid and structured)

If you can’t find the one you want secondhand, it’s likely YOU will get good resell value on it some day soon. So consider for example a $400 pram and selling for $200 yourself, if it’s financially an option for you . (Other than that thought I can’t help, we found a Minu on marketplace in excellent condition but still paid $400 for it)

2nd baby just turned 4 months old and I wanted to share how much happier I am with the Uppababy Minu V2 with car seat combo instead of a gigantic travel system like I had the first time around. This thing whips in and out of small places and around big crowds so easily. Everywhere I go, I feel like I leave all the other big strollers in the dust. It is so easy to fold, carry, and open with just one hand.. and it is making taking my baby places easier. Once I arrive to a restaurant or wherever, I fold it down and set it next to me. With a bigger stroller, I feel like I was always having to find a place to park it or store it so that it wasn’t in anybody’s way. You can also attach the UB bassinet or riding board if you want as well. I know the Minu V3 is coming out now, so I totally get the hype.. but if you want to save a little money, the V2 has been great. Only thing I’d wish for is more storage, but honestly it has helped me not tote around a bunch of stuff I don’t need to bring anyway. (Previously had Cruz, Modes, and Bravo systems).

I’ve used the Minu V2 with UB Mesa car seat as my stroller system since birth, and my husband and I both love it. We use it every day. I was weighing between the Bugaboo vs Minu. Compared to the Bugaboo, the Minu feels sturdier and was a better option for my tall husband. (The Bugaboo’s wheels are a bit smaller/narrower so he would kick them. The handlebar is also lower on the Bugaboo.) I’ve taken the Minu to Disney, down cobblestone, and short grass and it does fine. Obviously it’s not going to be as smooth of a ride over uneven terrain as a full-size stroller, but it doesn’t give you issues/get stuck on terrain. My friend has the Bugaboo that seems to get stuck more often.. but overall they’re both such high quality with very similar folds, etc.

We have the exact same set-up as meghabucks. We’ve been using the Minu V2 on the weekends now that we use the subway more often (I live in NYC), and I appreciate how light and compact it is - I can carry it up and down stairs by myself with my 12 month baby in it. We also bought the travel bag and have flown with/gate checked it a few times, and it packs easily. Never traveled with the bassinet, though I tend to agree that bringing the bassinet defeats the purpose and I would recommend bringing a car seat instead.

I have the Minu V2 and absolutely hate it - of all my baby related purchases, it’s my biggest regret. Similar to you, I wanted to use it as a primary stroller, but found it was annoying to fold and unfold, like it often got stuck when I tried to fold it. I went to an Uppababy tune up event, and they essentially told me it’s a travel stroller so it’s not meant to be used all the time, which is why it’s getting stuck when folding it up. As a travel stroller, it is not parent friendly. You need two hands to unfold since you need one hand to unlatch and one hand to unfold. It doesn’t fit in the overhead bin on flights. Finally, you need to remove the back wheels for it to even fit in its travel bag to gate check - it is wild that they didn’t just make the bag bigger since you’re checking it anyways. Because of all this, I have no faith I’d be able to travel own my own with baby and this stroller. I ended up getting the Joolz Aer+ which I use for travel and daily trips. I don’t know about the V3, but wouldn’t have faith in it based on my experience with the V2.

I have the Minu V2 and I do not recommend it - hard to fold (gets caught a lot), need two hands to unlatch to unfold, and you have to take the wheels off for it to fit in its travel bag. I can’t imagine traveling with it and baby alone.

We have the Uppababy Minu V2, Joolz Aer+, Uppababy Ridge (jogging stroller) and Uppababy Cruz (hand me down from 2015). I was really adamant about getting a travel stroller because I didn’t want anything bulky to have to take in and out of my car and we do like to travel (fly) quite a bit. I started with the Uppababy Minu V2 as the stroller I thought would be my primary. I had bought into the Mesa V2 car seat as well to make a travel system in the early days. It was fine, but the stroller wasn’t user friendly (two hands to unfold, not super easy to fold), my baby never liked actually sitting in the seat, and it wasn’t great for travel (we got the Uppababy travel bag but you had to remove the back wheels to fit in, and it’s too big for the overhead compartment on the plane) so much so that I have no confidence that I would be able to travel with baby alone without my husband. This was probably my single biggest regret in terms of baby purchases. I’ve heard the V3 may have fixed some of these problems, but I’d go with a stroller brand that’s known for travel strollers. In my opinion, Uppababy is known for the Vista. Our friend got us the Joolz Aer+ (very generous!) and we love it. Once baby was out of the infant car seat and thus we didn’t need the travel system, this became our go-to - in and out of the car for outings and for travel, also works for neighborhood walks. We got the Uppababy Ridge since we wanted a jogging stroller and we love this as well! More user friendly than other jogging strollers (no need to inflate the tires), and a super smooth ride. Greta for jogging, but also became our go-to for neighborhood walks. Super easy to go over railroad tracks, large sidewalk cracks/unevenness (travel strollers will struggle here and you may need to lift up the front wheels to get over them). We don’t use the Uppababy Cruz much to be honest, since we used the other instead, but nothing against it. If I had to do it all over again, I’d just get the Joolz Aer+ for car outings and travel and the Uppababy Ridge for neighborhood walks and early travel system compatibility. If I had to pick just one, I’d do the Joolz Aer+ and find a car seat that’s compatible with it so it can be used as a travel system.

I got the Minu V2 with the intent for it to be my primary stroller, and it’s probably my biggest regret as far as baby purchases go. I am on the shorter/smaller side as well, so wanted something easy to lift in and out of the car. To answer your question, it absolutely will get stuck on larger sidewalk cracks, railroad tracks, etc. However, this is true for probably all travel strollers since they have the smaller wheels. It takes two hands to unfold it, which is very inconvenient. What I hate most is traveling with it, ironically what it was designed for. It doesn’t fit in the overhead compartment, so you have to gate check it. Even to gate check it with the official Uppababy travel bag, you have to take the back wheels off for it to fit (not a big deal if you have another adult with you, but can’t imagine doing that alone while wrangling baby). I once went to an Uppababy tune up event and mentioned how my Minu was hard to fold and unfold after less than half a year, and she essentially said it’s meant to be a travel stroller and not meant for everyday use, implying that it’s not built well enough for everyday use. I was similar to you in that I just wanted one stroller and balked at the people who had 3-4 strollers on standby, but I have 4 strollers now haha. The Minu V2 which I retired the second I didn’t need the travel system with the Uppababy car seat. Joolz Aer+ which is our go to everyday stroller and travel stroller, which both we and baby love way more than the Minu. Uppababy Ridge as our jogging stroller and also what we use for neighborhood walks (goes over sidewalk cracks, railroad tracks, etc easily). And a hand-me-down Cruz which we’ve barely used, since we’re covered between the Joolz Aer+ and the Ridge.

I have V2 for both. It would probably be hard for you to get solid responses for V3 since it came out not too long ago. Minu holds significantly less than the Vista. I do believe the V3 folds much smaller and is airline carry on compatible. V2 is car seat compatible, so I’d check for V2 attachment to see if it fits for the V3, but Cruz V3 looks great with the bassinet option. Vista is massive, doesn’t fit well in our sedan, but it holds way more than a wagon and has more options. It holds so much and is great for local activities.

We’ve had a minu v2 since ours was born nearly 3 years ago, and used a nuna pipa carseat with the adaptors but he’s obviously outgrown the carseat. Ours has been great, I wd-40’d the wheels a couple of months ago because it got some gunk in one that made it pull to the right just enough to annoy me. I didn't have issues with slipping personally. It sucks to drag any stroller through sludge or snow for sure. And I do think the Minu rain cover sucks unfortunately. But I just don't get the feeling other strollers are better in this realm. Having a light stroller means you can even pick it up and carry it over a giant puddle or unshoveled section which you can't do with a bigger model.

Oh and you mentioned possibly adding a second baby down the road. The Minu does not have a proprietary ride on board but I have seen people use various universal ones with mixed success. Personally I don't think it is a good option for a close age gap. I have a 5 year old now who bikes or scoots and the baby in the new Minu but if they had been closer I would have gotten something else after the second one came.

I love our Uppababy Minu V2, (the V3 also looks like it will be nice!). We took it to France and it was a great and comfy stroller for our 7 month old. They slept great in it and even stayed asleep over rough terrain. We also have the travel bag for it and love it. We could put our stroller accessories in there like the snack bar and the rain cover. We also packed some light baby items in there like a travel blanket, toys, etc. It doesn't fit in the overhead bin but honestly with the travel bag we felt very comfortable leaving it at the door to the plane instead of trying to carry a stroller though the plane with the baby with all of our other stuff. It also has a great storage basket. We brought our Guzzie and Gus Perch travel highchair and it fits in the bottom. It is also quite sturdy. We could hang our diaper bag off the back using stroller straps and it wouldn't tip over, even with the baby out of the stroller.

I would go for the V2. I’ve flown with it about 50 times now and it’s been epic. We used the bassinet mainly but also had the Aria and it’s such an easy combo to use. Everyone has made a huge deal out of the V3 being cabin compliant, but it’s all marketing. Since the baby was on the way and up until now, I’ve been watching on flight to see if small strollers have been let in to go in the overhead compartment. Honestly, I don’t think they’re going to let this in. Maybe on a super empty flight? I fly at least once a week and the airlines simply aren’t letting strollers in with all the people putting backpacks and laptop bags, etc in the cabin. I’d go for the V2 and get their proprietary travel bag so that you have insurance against breakage. The bag is good on its own, so that will protect your gear outright, but the extra peace of mind is nice too. The V2 has been on sale lately too, so there’s that.

You probably wouldn’t get much use out of the seat until 6-7 months to be honest. Particularly in a pared back stroller like the Minu (speaking of the V2; I know the V3 has more recline options).

We love our Minu v2 so much. It’s a great option for short trips that involve a car and mostly smooth pavement. We use it for appointments, shopping and travel. The Vista v2 is used for proper walks and/or all day non-car based trips. The Minu is really nimble for restaurants or appointments where you don’t want a giant stroller taking up all of the space. It’s not brilliant imo for going on an exercise or fresh air type of walk. A Cruz or Vista will be more enjoyable, however we use our Minu as a city stroller in Edinburgh (depending on the route) and London and it’s very good. I think the YoYo or Joolz might be slightly better for the tube, but I wasn’t about to splash out for a couple weeks a year. We added the bassinet and the Minu really shines with this. It’s probably our most used piece of gear and totally worth it if you are eager to leave the house often. For the car seat we have the aria and it’s nice to be able to click it into the frame without an adapter. I *think* you need adapters for the Minu to use the Aria and the bassinet, but they’re small and fold down nicely. I haven’t seen the V3 in person, but I don’t love it from what I’ve seen in videos. The extra hinge looks like you’ll lose some of the sturdiness that the v2 has going for it. Also it’s kind of pointless because you’re almost certainly going to be asked to gate check, so I’d prefer to have a slightly wider folded stroller that has fewer moving parts to potentially loosen up. The flatter recline is tempting, but isn’t enough of a selling point for me. Also we love the travel bag system that UB has. Our Minu bag is really easy to use at the airport so I don’t mind gate checking.

You may like the Minu if you’re using it a lot. It will fit in the backseat easily and is pretty sturdy for a travel stroller. We have the V2 and it’s nice for using during car based errands. We also have the Trvl and I wouldn’t recommend this one because it gets rickety pretty fast. Can’t speak to the upgraded version as ours is the base version. It’s also bigger when folded than a lot of the others on your list. At least if the base Trvl is still pulling you in, you may want to check out the version from Joie since it’s cheaper.

The Minu is very durable ime. Obviously don’t take it off roading, but within normal paved roads it’s pretty good. We use it on cobblestones and it’s not brilliant at that, but it isn’t broken down like our Trvl. The fold is good. I have the v2 and I think they’re the same but don’t quote me on that! It’s technically one handed but I tend to use two. If you have something in the other hand you can still operate it one handed though. Ours isn’t brilliant at a one handed steer. You’ll notice a difference between the full featured UB strollers but it’s still very nice. Best way I can describe it is that it requires a little more effort to steer because it’s narrow. I don’t love the way the seat is exposed with the v3, but it’s still pretty nice. Just something I’ve noticed. On the other hand, the v2 has a lot of fabric that sort of flops when you carry it by the strap. The basket is good too and we can get our nappy bag in it which seems pretty good for a travel buggy. The other thing I like is that it’s very easy to pop it over a kerb. If you like the durability of UB, I think the Minu is the way to go. They’ve struck a good balance between durable and light. The mechanisms are all solid and simple to use. Also you have their customer service and the ability to use the travel bag scheme if needed. Personally I’m a little hesitant to buy anything from Bugaboo now because they’ve been awful about the recall on the giraffe high chair. I guess it could happen with UB, but every time I’ve had a concern I’ve picked up the phone and reached a human who could help. Literally the only thing I don’t like about the Minu is the price. 🫤

Have you considered the Minu? We have the V2 and love it. It’s not super great as a pure travel stroller because it’s slightly bigger and sturdier, but it makes a great everyday light stroller if that makes sense. It fits well in the car, is pretty lightweight compared to the Cruz/Vista. It’s a one handed fold and unfold. The canopy is decent. I’m not sure if any of the others (yoyo, Bugaboo, Trvl) beat it or beat it by much. If you do want to travel with it, it’s still pretty awesome. I’ve never minded having to gate check it. We bought the travel bag and it’s not a big deal. Even if you get a secondhand bag, it’s really well made and should offer plenty of protection.

At 3m maybe try a secondhand Minu V2. It’s acceptable on cobblestones and you can put the Uppababy bassinet on it that’s safe sleep rated. The Butterfly may or may not be nice, but it’s not going to work for a kid that can’t sit up.

You can! You take the seat fabric off, add a set of adapters that were pretty cheap iirc and there you go. The adapters let you click in either the bassinet or the Aria seat. It’s very lightweight and easy. We have the Vista as well and ended up using the Minu a lot for quick trips and in the car. The frame can fit behind a front car seat and then you pop the bassinet on the seat or in the boot. It’s so, so easy and nice. We have a new baby and I’m gutted that the V2 was discontinued because I’d get a new one in an instant. IMO it was a hidden gem and the V3 was a downgrade in design, but I can see how people don’t want to buy the bassinet.

Uppababy Minu v2 is our most used stroller.  It’s considered a travel stroller but we use it as a daily. It’s built much more beefy than other ultra compact or flimsy travel strollers. We’ve used it from newborn to 2 so far and expect to get even more use from it. We’ve taken it on walks, into parks, and onto smooth trails. It stays in the trunk and folds up small. It has adapters for attaching bassinet and car seat. At first it seems a pain to attach the adapters but they color code it and make it easy to snap on and off. After 2 times, it takes like 5 seconds to attach. Very large and secure storage area underneath. We recently got the roll board attachment that attaches in back and will soon get him to holding on to it when he doesn’t want to sit. You would need a proper jogger stroller if you want to do serious hikes. But we are using the backpack baby carrier for that, not a stroller. We used the warranty once for a part of the seat fabric attachment that broke off. Uppababy sent us an entire upper chassis and seat for free to replace it, as the new design was more robust. No hassle, no complaints! V2 is getting replaced by v3 so you can find the v2 new for ~$350 or less which is a steal!

We have the Minu V2, the Uppababy aria and then the Cruz v2 and the bassinet. I never used the bassinet with the minu v2, although I think I would have if we didn’t have the Cruz for local stuff, but I’d definitely recommend the minu v2! The new one also looks nice but it wasn’t available when we were buying. It works well as long as you’re on sidewalks or paved roads and folds up small in the trunk and is pretty light. For travel, bringing the bassinet would kind of defeat the purpose of having a small stroller. It’s bulky and my baby didn’t tolerate it after 3/4 months anyway. I would ecommend using the car seat instead for air travel since you’ll likely have to bring that anyway. It’s held up well so far (baby is 11months). Since we have the Cruz (and a running stroller) we use those for walks/ hikes around our neighborhood and leave the minu in our car/ use for travel. We bought the travel bags for the car seat and stroller and thought those were worth it for the peace of mind if something happens (we’ve flown 6x so far and haven’t had issues, we also find it easier not to bring to the gate and just check the stroller/ car seat and baby wear through TSA). We’d buy it again. If you have other questions let me know!

We have the minu V2. It's a great little pram. The issues I had/have with it was that I felt that when we were using the bassinet and I was a brand new mum, I would have enjoyed more basket space. Now that bubs older and im more experienced, I can pack and anticipate stuff better. Also, I think I would have enjoyed the opportunity for the seat to be parent facing in the earlier sitting stages. Also, me and my other friend who also has one, finds it sometimes doesn't fold/unfold that smoothly. Sometimes when it unfolds, the canopy attachment thing comes off. Sometimes the canopy gets in the way when folding. Those were the cons. However, overall, I'm glad we went with a travel size pram. The full size ones were just too heavy for my liking - although I envy the size of their baskets!

We have an uppababy minu v. 2 and loved it so much that we bought a second one for traveling (now that we have two kids.) It doesn't fit in the overhead compartment, but the fact that it's slightly larger than other travel strollers is a plus since my four year still fits in it comfortably and is a bit more sturdy than other travel options. You can fold it with one hand and the back can recline fully for nap. They just came out with a v3 but it looked worse to me, and it means that if you can find a v2 it will be on sale.

You’ll be happy with either. I don’t know about Nuna much, but the Vista is big. Like real big. So be prepared for that Also - I don’t really think it’s a great double stroller. It seems like a pain to maneuver and it would be super short lived anyway since toddlers max out the rumbleseat quick. I’d get the Cruz over the Vista and save your money. And if you wanna go further, get the Minu…we only have the Minu and it works great. No need for vista or cruz, plenty of space and you can buy attachments. But all that to say, buy whatever you want! Agree, I've never needed to fold the stroller one handed. I have a minu v2, which we got because we live up a set of steps and I wanted as light a stroller as possible. I went to a baby store and tried a bunch of strollers and found that you really can't beat an uppababy for good handling. That said, if I were to do it again I would get something a little more solid for everyday use. There are times, like on dirt or cobblestones, that I just wish the minu was a bit more sturdy. We also used the bassinet attachment for the first couple months and that worked out great. Also used the bassinet for the baby to sleep in for a while--decided to get our money's worth.

First, check whether you can legally (or at least safely) use your car seat in Portuguese cars. If you decide that you're comfortable using your car seat there, you might want to consider getting an Uppababy Minu. I don't think they make Mesa adapters for other brands, but you can use that seat with a Minu (with adapters). The V3 came out recently, so you can probably get a V2 for less money if that's important to you.

It depends on your lifestyle. If you are a car to door person, a Vista is not necessary and a Minu will do just fine. I own both in the V2 version. A lot of Vista regret is from people who did not factor in their lifestyle before the purchase. I live in a walkable downtown area in a high rise with elevators and walked everywhere -play group, child play space, library etc. I never had to fold the stroller or put it in the trunk. Just wheeled the thing everywhere and it’s a tank. The Minu V2 is excellent for vacations especially now that our child is older. The minu V3 is newborn compatible too.

We used a Minu V2 with my first for almost 2 years, on the daily (live in NYC) to go to daycare, it's been amazing. We baby wore a lot but the stroller has been with us through 50+ flights (domestic and abroad) fully check and gate checked etc, and is still solid and never been damaged. Also added the piggyback for my toddler, and it's been useful for two kids (2.5 year age gap). With my second baby, I got a UB bassinet off of Buy Nothing--personally hated and find it clunky. I would also not travel with the bassinet, not sure where you would put it (unless you're talking about the original Minu Bassinet they had) and we like to travel as light as possible (checking one big family bag + carry on of essentials for a family of 4). And if you're going to travel, we generally bring the infant car seat since we tend to need it for the trip already. That gets checked or gate checked in it's own bag as well. If you want a place for baby to sleep, we used to bring the Guava Lotus but all that baby gear adds up. We now use whatever the hotel/aparthotel provides and bring our own sheets. We travel often and this is the most sustainable for us esp because we need hands for the kids. Got a Minu V3 about 3 weeks ago so we can have stroller options if we're separate with the kids (though my first mostly walks or scooters now) and I'm very into it. Easier to adjust the recline, handles the streets about the same, love the little baby pocket as it keeps socks from falling onto the street, and the basket is much more accessible. Haven't traveled with it yet so time will tell if it's as well built as the V2 but I appreciate it can be taken into the cabin if you choose to and we will most likely move to using it more as our oldest relies less on the stroller with age and we need less gear overall. But if you really think about it, unless you check everything, there's very little use in bringing the stroller onboard IME. The reason I got the Minu V2 in the first place is that I realized with kids, I would never pack light enough to never have to check anything and to also be able to bring a stroller on board.

I had my second baby 3 months ago and am probably going to get this even though we already have a Minu v2 (need an extra one when toddler won't walk to daycare etc) which has been great for us. We love our Minu v2 but the V3 is pretty much everything I ever wanted in in a stroller (one hand compact fold, suitable from birth, large canopy, lightweight, hopefully still better suspension than most of the ultra compacts on the market because it looks like the back wheels might be smaller to fit IATA guidelines). I wish it had come out earlier so I could have used it since the beginning with my second--currently using the bassinet (free from my local buy nothing) and while it's nice, I find it a little cumbersome and would it could fold down when not in use or when we're using public transport (we don't have a car).

Had my baby in 2022- uppababy mini v2 is great. Compact, sturdy, friendlier price point, fits in our only car (hatchback), easy for me to lug up and down our stairs… a friend had the bassinet so that was clutch during witching hour walks.

We've had the Minu V2 and Cruz V2 since birth and have an almost two year old. I almost exclusively used the Minu because it's smaller and lighter and so much easier when it's just the two of us. We ended up with so many of the accessories and you can use them on both. In the beginning I would use the car seat if we were going in somewhere that she would be getting out like storytime because I've read they shouldn't be in the car seat too long, it was great to just plop the cozy ganoosh on and attach to the stroller. I used the bassinet for Dr's appointments or places we were gonna be walking awhile. At around 4 months we switched to the stroller seat but she just kinda slid sideways so we ended up getting the snug seat. It made it close clunky but it still did close. At this point I would keep the adapters on so I could put the car seat on with the rain shield really fast so she wouldn't get wet. Now at almost two we almost never use a stroller but when we do i prefer the Cruz. We're car people not walking people tho. If we're walking where there are dirt paths etc the Cruz pushes so much nicer. We have the seat liners on both and the seat cozy ganoosh can go on both too. We have one cupholder we keep by the door and it comes with adapters for both so I just clip it on either as we go out the door.

I live in Europe (moved from Canada) and double strollers are really common! As long as it a compact double stroller and you can easily fold it up for taxis/rental cars, if you’re in a small elevator, etc, they are a great option! I have the minu single and thinking about the duo for my two. The European brands tend to be more compact than uppababy. You never see a Cruz or vista in Europe but the minis are around. Bugaboo is super popular and they have some great compact options with piggyback ride alongs.

I have the Uppababy Minu V2 and it’s really great for urban life, in and out of the car, storing at daycare, on transit, etc.. I used it as my primary stroller last winter and we love it but it isn’t the best in snow. Would be excellent if you had an alternate stroller for snowy conditions and gravel paths.

My baby is only 4 weeks old (so take this limited experience with a grain of salt), but we’re using the minu v2 as our main stroller so far, and we love it! It works for us because we often put it in and out of the trunk to drive places and we are planning to travel a lot. We have two sets of adapters - one for the uppababy bassinet (good for newborns, got on marketplace for only $25), and one for the infant car seat (Diono - reasonably lightweight, narrow/compact, affordable) Love that it’s lightweight and agile. Maneuvers well. Have even taken it on a gravelly bumpy beach-adjacent trail / path and it performed pretty well. Bumpy ride but the baby didn’t mind and seemed similar enough to the Cruz and vista strollers that I was walking beside. I chose the v2 over the v3 because the v2 works with the separate uppababy bassinet, which is also great to carry around your house as a separate spot to put the baby down for a nap in the living room for example. Bonus - the v2 is even cheaper than the v3. So far I would definitely recommend!

I got a used Vista2 and it’s a tank. We use it around the neighborhood, but I never want to put it in the car. We found a used Minu2 (when my son was two months old and I realized I was never going to put my Vista in the car for errands) and it’s my day to day. So easy to collapse and put in the trunk - works with the vista accessories (like the car seat carrier). If we have a second, I’m buying the double Minu brand new and never looking back. We did get a BOB as well and we love it for neighborhood walks and we do take it in the car as it also folds easily. It is great for football games, baseball games, picnics, events with grass terrain, etc. So - if I had to pick - Bob and Minu as they serve two different functions.

I ended up getting the Minu Duo! It's definitely not perfect, but it's safe, sturdy, and narrower so super easy to get through doors. Even fits through my 29" front door! The basket is okay - there's a bar in the middle so you can't stuff it full. That said, I can get both sets of school things!

I had the Nuna mix, love it, but for travel we got the Uppababy Minu and I hated it. So for the next travel I got the bugaboo butterfly which I love! Me personally, I think the bugaboo butterfly would be a perfect blend of that. Maybe the wheels aren’t the hefty kind but the Bugaboo handled Taiwan and Japan very well and it was compatible as a carry on. You can also get an adapter to put an infant car seat.

I had the previous version of the Minu and I hated it. I believe they fixed the part of the Minu that I hated so the new version might be good! LOVE the one handed collapse. I kind of wish we got the v3 but overall I love it. Edited to add that this is our only stroller and the only one I intend on having. Took our daughter when she was 9m to a resort in Cancun. We had the minu v2 and it was helpful for stroller naps, but I would definitely add a stroller fan as it was super warm and sunny when we were there. We also only used it on paved roads as I’ve heard that sand can gum up the wheels and brakes, so we didn’t take it to the beach. The stroller was good for the airports too so you can go hands free /store your extra bags in it. The one drawback is that it doesn’t fit the overhead bins so we would always gate check. So there are some minor superficial scuffs but we expected that. No issues maneuvering it around the airport. We’ve used it almost 3 years now and over 10 flights and it does great.

I also think you will use your vista less and less for car trips once you discover the minu v3. Unless you are using the vista for both kids. We have this same exact combo of the Ridge and Minu V2! We use the Minu for everyday trips and travel as it fits nicely in the car and like how easy it is to fold. Ridge is used for longer walks/excursions. We bought the adapters for both strollers and used with the infant car seat and bassinet before 6 months. The Minu basket isn’t as big as other strollers, but we only have 1 kid so it hasn’t been an issue. The Red Rovr Roo backpack fits the Minu basket well.

Seconding the Minu. I have the Minu V2 and have been using it for a month and so glad I didn’t go with one of the larger stroller options (I also live in NYC). The Minu is easy to navigate because of its size, it’s compact enough that it doesn’t take up a lot of space in the apartment, and it’s also sturdy enough to be a primary stroller. We can also easily travel with it so don’t need an additional stroller for that. That being said, we use the bassinet attachment all the time and I don’t think the Minu V3 allows the bassinet. You might still be able to get the V2 somewhere though if that’s important to you.

This is my time to shine! lol I have been stroller crazed since I was pregnant. I thought about our constraints first (budget, space) just to narrow it down a bunch. Just because of space constraints we eliminated full size strollers. (Like vista/mockingbird) I chose to completely ignore if a stroller could turn into a double or not. It’s a whole other ball game and I’m choosing to cross that bridge if we come to it. I recommend that because depending on age differences between siblings it can really change your priorities with double strollers. I think it’s impossible to have just 1 stroller fit all your needs, especially if you want to use them from infant/newborn stage. The needs are just so different for tiny babies vs toddlers. So instead of compromising on toddler needs(which would last for so many more years), we got a corso primo for newborn days and a gt2 that we didn’t use until she was 5 months. She’s one now and our needs sound similar to yours (80% neighborhood walks, 20% terrain) I just got a minu v2 as well. The first 5 months she really wanted to face me, and was often in the car seat. I loved the chicco corso primo (primo has better wheels then regular corso!), it was super duper easy with the chicco key fit and the seat was also great facing me. We could have found adapters for the gt2 and used that with the car seat too, but I liked that the corso is just a frame that the car seat clicked into. It felt much more manageable in early days when I was trying to get her around on my own. That was worth it and I would do it again! I would typically baby wear her around the neighborhood, so the frame lived in the trunk of the car for a little bit and it was great for shopping and appointments. Definitely not all terrain, but it handled rough sidewalks admirably! And 100 bucks used so I didn’t feel guilty about only using it for 5 months. I just switched to a minu v2 because the gt2 is just a tiny bit too bulky to easily maneuver in and out of our house with an injured back. I’m planning on keeping both, and the minu will be great for shorter walks, travel, car, shopping, museums, etc but it’s just not quite all terrain like the gt2. Like I *can* take it on gravel, we’ll survive, but the gt2 is smooth as butter. The gt2 also has a much higher weight limit so she can use it when she grows out of the minu. I think the gt2 and the minu are an incredible pair of strollers that cover alllll of my needs. If I had to choose one it would be the minu, because having something I can manage with one hand in and out of the house is priceless. But those are just our constraints- the gt2 is a serious workhorse! I just have a tiny porch and narrow steps 😭 I highly *highly* recommend getting the stroller guide from “the stroller workshop”. He has a YouTube channel and patreon. The guide is $5 and it helped me pull the trigger on a minu. I tuned out all other reviews, I trust that man with my life 🤓 TLDR if you need 1 stroller for all purposes from birth on- I would get a gt/2 and car seat adapters. But if you are thrifty and have the time, getting something for early days, then reselling it and getting a rugged daily driver and a lightweight travel stroller would require fewer compromises. Also, I didn’t pay full price for a single one of these strollers. I’m a Facebook marketplace sniper lol.

Fellow Ottawa mom here - get the Uppababy. We used the bassinet daily for walks and as an extra bassinet for home and travel right up until LO was too big for it. Also, the wheels are super solid and make it a lot easier to navigate Ottawa snowbanks come winter. Not sure if you plan on having more than one kid, but we wanted something that would last for the next one (or two!) and grow with our family. It's true you can find lots used on marketplace, which further reinforced my decision to spring for the Uppababy, because even well used and years old, people are still selling them for $800!

I have a travel stroller. Most people I know stopped using a full or mid-size stroller by the time their child reached 18 months. They bought a travel stroller. I did a ton of stroller research. I tried a lot of friends strollers. The Yoyo is tricky to close and has a small basket. I don’t like it. The aer also has a tiny basket. I had a Minu, not the strollers fault, someone crushed it by dropping their full size stroller on it at daycare. I replaced it with the Butterfly because my son is tall. I prefer the Minu. It folds even with stuff in the basket that's not the case with most travel strollers. Full and mid size strollers don't fit in boutique or cornerstone aisles. So you'll be leaving it outside. Also remember your 8 month old will be a 2 year old. Not all subway stations have elevators. You can't carry a mid-size stroller by yourself. You want something you can carry with one hand your child's hand in the other.

My husband read up on those and we didn't get one for a few reasons 1. we are tall and it is impractically short for us 2. There was some conflicting information on the safety of the seats. We ended up going with the Uppa baby - its expensive but it came with the car seat, a bassinet, and the standard stroller seat. If we eventually end up having another it can also convert to a double stroller and the resale value is decent if we end up selling it. To us it was worth it and now using it I really love it. It's one of those "if you have the funds do it, if not its not the end all be all". For us the biggest plus is its great for tall people (I'm 5'8 and my husband is 6'3)

I’m a buy once cry once kind of guy, so when I felt the Uppa Baby stroller it felt significantly sturdier than others I checked. It’s expensive though.. folds up easily, I pull it out of the SUV with one hand and it’s already setup by the time I go to set it down. The wheels are great and make going up my brick front steps easy, I just pull the stroller backwards and the large wheels do the work. But, it’s expensive. My wife bought an attachment for ours once we had our second child, so now we stroll around with two. It feels just as sturdy with two as it did with one.

Ive had two kids, very different systems in place. Cost was my biggest concern basically. Baby 1 Bed: uppa bassinet + jolly jumper rocker stand. Stand was $10 used. Bassinet came with the stroller Stroller: used uppa baby from fb marketplace. Paid $100 for the stroller, seat and bassinet. Came with a snack tray. It was around 8 years old and an outdated model Car seat: safety first seat that stayed in the car (not a system), but that adjusted from infant to 50 lbs. Cost about $300 Once baby could sit up, I ditched the uppa baby because it was too big. Opted for a Summer 3D stroller that was super portable. That cost about $80 Baby 2 Bed: ingenuity bassinet (not relevant, but showing that we didn’t have a bassinet attachment). Bought used for $30 Stroller: graco modes that we got from a friend. They gave us the whole system with the car seat. Free, but valued at $450+ brand new, and worth mentioning that this is difficult as used car seats should only from a trustworthy source. Also still had the summer 3D mentioned above, and that was compatible with the Graco snugride Car seat: graco snug ride mentioned with stroller. Free from a one-and-done friend. This baby will need a new car seat when we grow out of the bucket. She will use that summer 3D stroller exclusively when that happens as I looove how light and portable, yet sturdy, it is. Baby 2 didn’t have a bassinet stroller attachment. She is 4 months old and would be outgrowing it now. We are huge on baby wearing, so we didn’t have her in the stroller much for walks around the block. Note that dad did a lot of the bigger walks while mom was recovering. Used ergo baby carrier: $15 Sorry for the long read. All this was to say the answer doesnt need to be black and white or fit in a box

They grow out of the car seat click size SO fast and by the time my guy did I really didn’t like the travel system I chose because of the wheels (Graco). Get a Minu! If you didn't have a car. I'd say get a Cruz, but since you drive, just get a Minu. Once you have a second, put kid #1 on the piggyback board.  I have two strollers, but agree that most people do not need two. My kids were born in a big city and we didn't have a car, so the Cruz was our "family vehicle" and every-day stroller. I got a Minu bc we fly transatlantic a lot with the kids and I wanted a travel stroller. If I hadn't needed the capacity of the Cruz for grocery runs (and if the Minu had a piggyback board when I had my first), we could have easily just used the Minu

Minu sucks. Almost topples over when there is strong wind or terrain that isn’t a smooth sidewalk. It just sits in our trunk as an emergency stroller. I regret not getting the Dragonfly earlier. Nuna Rava and Chicco Keyfit. My boys are both 99th percentile so they outgrew rear facing on both models quickly. Bought the Nuna Exec and it is roomier and able to be used until they no longer need a car seat (7 years?). We don’t remove the car seats to put into a stroller so we don’t even need an infant car seat.

Honestly, I think this is more neighborhood specific. In UWS, the sidewalks are wide and smooth enough. When I visit friends in Chelsea, west village, Tribeca, it’s bumpier. But for the visits, I don’t mind. I’m also on the subway a lot, so being able to carry is extremely important. The butterfly is probably my favorite. I’d recommend it over the yoyo because of the basket ALONE. I cannot fit library books, my bags, or much really in my yoyo basket. The Minu is also another great alternative. And yes, you can use this as your only stroller. Buy a few hooks to hold bags for when you go shopping. I even use the hooks to hold my water bottle! Edit: by library books, I mean the large children’s books. I have to unhook the basket and squeeze to get them in. I usually end of carrying them in a tote because of that hassle. Also, I can’t put a med sized pizza box down there. City problems lol

The Uppababy is BIG I have the Cruz which is even smaller and it takes up so much space. This might be an unpopular onion, but something cheaper and light like a graco, or Chicco travel system is almost certainly not going to fail you, and has the added benefits of being lighter and cheaper. The Uppababy is a great choice, just know it might take up a lot of space. On the other hand if you want to park the Uppababy in your living space you can use the bassinet as a space to lay baby down.

We have the Minu which I consider a travel stroller because we’ve been able to put it in overhead bins on airplanes. It’s been our only stroller for 5 years now (one and done). We used it with an Uppababy bassinet and car seat until she was big enough to be directly in the stroller. We live in a city in an apartment so don’t have room for some gigantic thing, and I don’t want to have to take anything bigger up/down stairs, and I feel like I would just end up carrying more stuff everywhere if I had a bigger stroller with more storage. With this one I am limited on storage and whatever I can fit in a backpack that is comfortable to carry. It’s worked well for us.

It’s so weird because for a while everyone on reddit swore it was amazing and the same quality and now everyone is finally being honest 😂 We’re about to have our third and we are honestly so hard on our uppababy… we actually moved to the sierras for a year and left it outside in 100 degree weather followed by freezing temps in the winter and during the winter, a plastic part on the frame cracked and uppababy IMMEDIATELY sent me an entire new frame no questions asked. Other than that we’ve had zero issues and I have big destructive boys who trash everything we have. My oldest and our dog will climb into the basket, putting over 70 lbs in it when it lists not to exceed 30. Still going strong!

We had 2 under 2, soon to be 3 under 3 and we fine for traveling having 2 separate is much easier! We bought minu when we went away with just 1 and I loved having that for 2nd because mesa fits into it. Made it easy going out solo and not taking the vista. Then we travelled twice with 2u2, once to Ireland and once to an all inclusive. We liked the flexibility of having 2 strollers and bought universal attachments to hold them together if needed. I prefer minu IF you have car seat that goes with it. The ergobaby is better for young babies when traveling as it completely reclines and has a sort of ‘bassinet’ mode to it. Minu fits more underneath but not substantially! Both easy to fold, neither fits in overhead bin

As another poster stated, the problem appears to be fixed so you likely wouldn't experience the issue. My lasting concern is that they didn't immediately recall the strollers after receiving multiple reports of the issue and I'd be worried that would happen again. [Link](https://www.consumerreports.org/babies-kids/strollers/parents-report-their-mockingbird-baby-strollers-are-breaking-a1072976028/) We love the Uppababy. It feels very high quality, maneuvers well, is spacious, and to-date I've seen no concerns with their customer service (only the contrary - how great it is). It's pricey but you can find used ones on FB marketplace. I've also heard the BuyBuyBaby completion discount works for UB but can't confirm. We also have friends who love their Chicco Keyfit and Graco strollers. At the end of the day we wanted not just a product we trusted but a company we trusted to do right by their consumers. It's definitely a personal decision so whatever you feel comfortable with is good. I'm just a random new mom feeding my baby and browsing reddit!

Always carried one of those Deuter KidComfort backpacks. Carried the big Uppababy once and regretted it. Brought an umbrella stroller once and regretted that too. The baby backpack was the best but a lot depends on the age, and what your kids are comfortable with and what kind traveling you intend to do. At 15 months my daughter preferred the KidComfort but I can see how an umbrella stroller would be really handy in some situations. They just won’t sleep as easily. But having too much gear on the road is just the worst.

Strollers are like cars and not everything will fit everyone's lifestyle needs or budgets. The stroller I currently have would not work for someone who lives in the city in a small apartment, someone who takes public transit a lot or has a small car. I found it easier to make a list of things i didn't need/want in a stroller as someone who lives in the suburbs to narrow it down. An anecdotal example from late 2019: We bought our infant seat at babies r us for an insane discount (paid $60 for a +$200 bucket seat) so I didn't need a travel system. I live in the suburbs and sometimes the sidewalks aren't shoveled very well in the winter so a light stroller with little wheels wasn't going to work for me. I wanted my kids to be close in age so I only looked at strollers that could turn into doubles; uppababy, bugaboo, peg perego, and city select. I didn't like the configuration from single to double for the uppababy or city select for their bassinet attachments and the peg perego was impossible to find so we got the bugaboo. I was also able to talk to a customer who would come into the store that I worked at who bought the bugaboo for her twins and she raved about it but the only thing she didn't like was how wide it was because it made mall shopping difficult. I don't go to malls and the stroller fits through a standard doorway so the width was never really an issue for me but I can't walk side by side on the sidewalk with another mom pushing a stroller beside me 😅. If I was having my first baby in 2025 with the information that I have now, I would pick cybex gazelle or bugaboo kangaroo.

Second this. Just grab one off FB marketplace, that’s what we did and I immediately understood the hype. The Graco was… good enough. But the Uppababy is like pushing a cloud. They’re so slick, and the ride-on attachment is great for when one kid outgrows a seat in the stroller itself.

We tried them out in person, strongly recommend if you have a store close to you. We went with the Nuna because it was the only one tall enough for my 6'4" husband. The uppababy at its tallest height worked for me at 5'10". Neither needs a bassinet. Nuna lays completely flat as it is. And the uppababy has a relatively affordable insert that will make it flat for a newborn, I think it's $50-$75.

I had a Mompush I bought second hand, really liked but ultimately wanted something smaller, but also not by a ton as I wanted something nice to push around the zoo but I could also take into a mall etc. I use the Bob to go on runs and around the neighborhood and take the dog out too but I actually ended up selling my Mompush and getting a crazy good deal on an uppababy. I was one to not fully believe in high priced strollers like the uppababy but OMG I love it sooooo much compared to the Mompush. There is no way in hell I would buy one brand new , but I am super happy with the one I got second hand. Also love that I can really make it much smaller by removing the wheels and seat quickly to add a couple more things into my trunk if need be

I have both the vista and the minu. I would say keep the vista if that is what you are going to use most of the time. It is really good on most terrain. The Minu while being a standout travel stroller really will not compare to standard strollers on rough terrain. We got the minu because we flight travel 6-8 times a year and at that point it makes it really worth the extra expense for the ease of handling. You still have to buy a travel bag with the minu and it’s not that much cheaper than the vista bag.  Once your kid is walking or even sitting upright, cheap umbrella stroller is the best for 1-2 flights per year.

We got the Vista and we got a lot of use out of it while living in Mile End. It's a great stroller for all weather and road conditions, and the storage is great. The notable downside was that it's not so great for maneuvering small stores or stores with thin aisles- so keep that in mind. We do have a smaller travel stroller but loved the Uppababy for the newborn days. Don't know if the Cruz is less wide than the Vista.

We have 2 strollers. The Vista was meant to be our main and only one but it was too heavy for me to lug up and down the stairs every day, so we went and bought a Minu (travel stroller). The big stroller sits in our car, and did accompany us on trips when my baby was younger. Now that she’s a toddler we’re going to be travelling with the smaller stroller since she barely sits in it anymore. And the smaller stroller is more of our every day stroller now at home for walks around the neighborhood. Also, even though strollers say they fit in the overhead bins, we’ve never been allowed to put them in there on flights. Have always had to gate check them with WestJet.

Not Maxi Cosi, but I can share some of my thoughts on other strollers that may help. I went to WestCoast Kids to try out some strollers recently, I’m due in a few weeks so my experience is from using friends and families over the past couple of years. I ended up leaving with the bugaboo fox 5 (not the renew) with the bassinet / stroller seat and got a Nuna car seat. I think all together it came out to be 2,000 ish. I found it on sale luckily. I was eyeing a Cybex stroller and a Nuna stroller. The folding of the Cybex was unbearable for me, required two hands and just folding it at the store over stimulated me. Nuna was my second option if bugaboo didn’t work out and they have travel sets. UppaBaby felt too hefty for me, but I used it a while back and not the newer ones. UppaBaby does have a really lightweight car seat that you can attach to the stroller, I believe it’s the Aria. I wanted that one but it’s not compatible with my stroller.

I want to say OP, if you can find a deal... the Baby Jogger is in second... But Uppababy is the best. 90% of the moms in Lincoln Park and Old Town are rocking one of the Uppababy strollers. I've never seen a brand own so much market share in a product line than this company. It is more common than running into a finance bro with a Patagonia vest or a Yeti cup.

Not OP, but I did this too and I bought the uppababy stroller off my friends, a used uppababy bassinet off Facebook marketplace, and then the mesa car seat separately as well. The stroller (yellow) is just a different color than the bassinet (navy) because they're used and bought separately, but otherwise it's been wonderful and it handles beautifully on streets and sidewalks, and is smooth even on gravel paths, and has a huge bin down below which is handy for coats and bags.

Hell no to the Graco.  Did it with my first and hated it (live in Mtl so used it daily) Tried a few others. My recommendations are Baby Jogger CT Mini or... Uppababy. Yes Uppababy is expensive but you can resell it. I recently bought the Ridge stroller on sale for maybe $500 approx. Then bought everything else (car seat + adjusters/adapters, bassinet, bassinet stand, ganoosh, rain cover etc) from a Mom in a local parenting FB Group and paid half the cost (in good condition too). Even now those second hand items are still in good condition and could probably be resold again. A Mom friend bought Uppababy used from FB Marketplace, everything for about $700. Used it for 4 years straight (daily) and now passing it onto her friend. Uppababy seems to have a long shelf life!

We didn't get the travel bag, but that doesn't mean we have to just hand it to them unprotected. When we flew with our Uppababy I took a bit of rope and tied the stroller shut after I folded it up. The rope helps hold it together, gives the luggage guys something to grab on to that won't damage anything, and makes it so there isn't so much stress on the latch or hinges. It's a lot cheaper than the travel bag too.

I worked at a baby store in college so I used to sell strollers to all types of people. I’m also a FTM and recently purchased one for myself. I will say that it’s an extremely personal choice - what works for you and yours may not work for me. For example, I live in a city with rough brick sidewalks - so good wheels and suspension were important to us. We also haven’t met our baby yet and don’t know what their temperament will be, so shelling out $800+ for a stroller seems risky. I have plenty of friends/family who have expensive strollers collecting dust in their cars/basements. We looked at the UppaBaby, Nuna, and a lot of the other popular systems on the market and decided they wouldn’t work for us. We loathed the Doona (my husband is 6’5) and weren’t overly impressed with the Graco / Chiccos we saw at Target. We found a boxed and brand new Baby Jogger City Mini at a discount store and bought it for a great price. My husband is obsessed with it already. It’s a brand I used to sling at the store and it’s very functional / in line with what we were looking for. I suggest testing out as many as possible, if you can. There aren’t many baby stores left, but Nordstrom has some on display. Rei might as well. Target as a few. Unsure about Walmart. And I think talking to parents who are out and about when you see them pushing strollers can be helpful. But default on your own judgement and prioritize your needs. Also, if your baby is going to be born in colder months, or if you’re not ready to commit to a brand/type, you may want to hold off or just get a snap n go system.

When we go out to eat it's so easy to fold it up and hide it away. And traveling with it is super easy. It's the only stroller we've had. We have another baby on the way and will probably just keep this one.

UPPAbaby was my top choice as well until I tested them in store. There's barely any suspension and the wheels are all plastic, so any rough terrain (like snow or slush) kind of bounces the whole stroller. I went with Bumbleride and have no regrets! A compact travel stroller is fine for this as long as you don't need it for jogging or rough terrain. Walks on sidewalks? Fine. Walks on land trails? Not gonna work. I have the Joolz Aer+, which also has a bassinet attachment, and fits in airplane overhead bins. Lots of people like the Yoyo but it's a two step fold whereas Joolz is a one step/one hand fold. The Minu is fine but too large for airplane overhead compartments so you will always have to gate check. Every now and then, airports do weird shit with gate checking so if you need to stroller to get through the airport, you may want the option of bringing it on board. We do if we have a connecting flight. Be aware that the tradeoff of going with a compact is less basket space.

We have the uppababy Cruz and had purchased a travel stroller (not the minu but similar) for an international trip. We hated the travel stroller - it struggled on bumpy sidewalks, grass, gravel, etc. and it wasn’t super comfortable for LO. And we love our Cruz - it’s a beast of a stroller that tackles everything. Yes it’s big and heavy but it’s incredibly sturdy, LO loves it, and walks are a breeze. If you find yourself not liking the uppababy once baby gets a bit older I’d suggest a jogging stroller. We sold the travel stroller and purchased the uppababy jogger and it handles hikes wonderfully. We keep the Cruz for when we’re going places as the jogger is a bit unwieldy but use the jogger for walks.

The Uppababy Vista is great (smooth ride, great for in/out with the car seat early on, lots of storage space below, the snack tray) except it is HUGE, like takes up the entire trunk of your crossover SUV huge, and their parent organizer is terrible (velcro doesn't stay put and eventually damages the stitching on the leather grips). I keep it setup in the garage exclusively for walks around the neighborhood now. You can also almost use it as a jogger. I switched to the Uppababy Minu travel stroller in the car (bought for traveling along with the travel bag). The steering is not great but it's nice and compact and the sun shade is very large. I'll have to go back to the Vista when baby #2 arrives which will most likely mean also upgrading my car so we can all fit!! Plan all along was to give the Minu to my husband after baby #2 arrives so he can have his own stroller for the infant so that's why the double Ubbababy investment. Go to Nordstrom and look at all of them in person. Tell them what your priorities are (compact, full size, travel, multiples, etc.) and they will show you your best options and answer all of your questions. Also measure your trunk! 😅

We have a Cruz and a minu and I wouldn’t use a minu for everyday use. It doesn’t roll through sand, dirt, non-smooth surfaces and isn’t sturdy enough to survive tons and tons of usage IMO. It also is pretty flimsy which might make it hard for a baby who isn’t a strong sitter to even sit in. It’s not as adjustable, though you can lean it back a bit, but it’s not going to be as supportive and an infant wouldn’t like being in it for long. We love it for travel but nothing else. The Cruz is a great everyday stroller and actually easier to push around as a small woman, because it steers so well. It does “off roading” so well that we’ve even taken it to the beach and it can roll through the sand 😂

I would strongly suggest not using your car seat on the airplane at that age. Just make sure they have their own seat and bring a blow up thing that goes between the edge of the seat/the back of the seat I front of you. It basically creates a bed for the kiddo. I also suggest the Minu. It’s gotten us through Europe. The Uppa Baby car seat also fits into it with adapter things you can buy separately.

Also, it’s really light so using the shoulder strap while lugging around kid and baggage is very easy (and comfortable) because it’s so light. We’ve been using it since birth (she’s 3 now) and we STILL use it. We’ve even had to gatecheck it a few times and it has absolutely held up (with no stroller cover to add to that lol). Of course there are scuffs but the fact that it still works perfectly fine after all these years, I can’t imagine using anything else. ETA we got ours second hand from Facebook marketplace. I have the vista and the minu! I use the vista pretty much exclusively. It’s so solid, easy to maneuver, works perfectly, never has an issue. I imagine the Cruz is similar but a bit more lightweight. I’m 5’3” and don’t have any issue loading and unloading it from the car. The minu is basically a janky doll stroller in comparison lol. I can take the vista across gravel or grass with no issue. The minu is so uncomfortable for my kid and the steering is so stiff and the wheels are tiny. I never use it and wish I hadn’t ever bought it honestly!

We got 2 strollers because we needed a hefty home one since we do most errands by foot, but we also have done a lot of travelling. If you mostly use a car for errands and don't have any big trips planned, you could probably get by with a solid lightweight stroller like the uopababy minu.

I know it's not on your list but I tried out a few travel strollers at Nordstrom (Libelle, Joolz Aer, Uppababy Minu, and one of the Nunas) and ended up going with the Uppababy Minu. It's supposed to fit in an overhead bin but can't confirm. Ergobaby Metro was on our list.

We have a Vista and Minu. No question, the Vista (and presumably Cruz) are smoother than the Minu since they’re advertised more as a daily stroller vs the Minu. We only use the Minu for travel because it can fold up as a carry on. The basket on the Minu is pretty small - that is something that makes it tricky for daily use. I’ll use the Vista at the store and not use a cart, but I can’t do that with the Minu. Minu is plenty smooth on sidewalks and brick roads.

Big stroller nerd and travelling mom who’s been on over 30 flights with my now 3 year old. A cabin sized stroller will never be super sturdy. In order to make them fold that small, they need a few extra hinges. With that being said, there are a lot of very decent travel strollers out there. Ideally go to a store and test a few. What is important to you? For me, being able to roll the stroller straight out of the plane is handy, I also need it to lean back for naps on the go and fold it one handed. If you’re ok with checking the stroller at the gate, you can also look at a compact stroller. I have one of those too, my uppababy minu, which is by far the sturdiest of the compacts out there. There are a lot of good reviews on YouTube too, to give you an idea of what’s out there.

Same here! We got the Uppababy Ridge because we knew we’d be doing a lot of walks with the dog, who likes to play in the field. I ended up with a c section and couldn’t lift the Ridge into the car for a long time without pain so we got the Minu as well and I’m SO glad we did. It’s small and perfect for going into stores. It lives in my the car unless I’m driving somewhere for a walk.

It's slightly annoying because you either have to wall a little off center or keep your arms a little more stretched. But I've only kicked it a couple times. Totally worth it to me to have the 4 year old moving quickly with us lol. The stow clip is too long which was more annoying, but we just tied some knots in it and it's fine now. Edit to add: The minu itself is also a really nice stroller. I'd say that now, after 4 years of heavy use and rough treatment, we're starting to see the brakes stick and feel some jiggle in the handles. It's got a super smooth ride though, nice handle cushion, and it's pretty well adjustable for naps on the go etc.

We have uppababy minu for times when we decide to take the subway and the uppababy vista for everyday use like to go to the park, running errands etc. The streets here are not smooth and using the minu as our day to day stroller proved to be difficult when my son was 6 months old. He would often end up with sore neck so a heavyweight stroller was the only way to go. Although my experience is purely based on living in midtown Manhattan. I don’t know the condition of the pavements/footpaths elsewhere. Good luck with the search!

I started my stroller journey by buying a highly recommended stroller and hating it... and ended up with multiple ones, which turned into testing over 100 models and reviewing them :) That said: NOT LOVING: Uppababy Vista - rides smooth, but too big and bulky Mockingbird - awful, scary with recalls, doesn't drive smoothly as all Cybex Orfeo - too flimsy Cybex Coya - where do I even begin with this bad fold GB Pockit - not worth your fingers Ergobaby Metro - too heavy for a travel stroller and unfold feels meh SummerInfant 3d quickclose - too good to be true, super flimsy Nuna TRVL - too short seat, too big to take into the cabin and too expensive for what it is Uppababy Minu - too big for a travel stroller model, weird bumper bar and flimsy canopy LOVING: Cybex Priam - amazing, especially the e-version. If I were to get a one full-size stroller this would be my top choice Stokke Yoyo3 - most well-known and guaranteed on board Joolz Aer - smooth ride, great accessories Joolz Hub2 - solid mid-size option Cybex Gazelle - good for 2 under 2 Bombi - good mid-size option Bugaboo Butterfly 2 - didn't like the first version, but these upgrades made it better Mamazing - good budget option Zoe Traveler - amazing canopy and solid stroller Inglesina Quid - cute solid compact stroller

Have both the Cruz and the Minu. Love love love the Cruz for everyday, it’s great for going on walks, hanging out with friends but it’s big. The vista is even bigger (granted now I’m pregnant with my second kind of wish I went with the Vista). But it’s sturdy and high quality. We have the Minu as our travel stroller and also love, still high quality but not necessarily as sturdy. We go on long walks with our dogs and I wouldn’t recommend the Minu for that as the wheels as smaller and though it handles well, isn’t necessarily as smooth due to smaller wheel size. We got the Cruz new & bought the travel stroller from marketplace for pretty cheap. I figured a travel stroller had a higher percentage of breaking anyways due to plane rides— but it’s held up really well! 3 countries and 12 states with no issues. But the Cruz is still my favorite go to

It depends on what you think your main uses will be. Do you need to carry it up stairs? Are you tight on storage space? Do you value car seat compatibility, jogging, all-terrain capabilities, travel? Will you use the stroller for shopping, on public transport? We have the Bumbleride Indie and love it. 95% of our stroller use in the first 8 months has been walking around the neighborhood. We also take it on trails. It's a beast of a stroller--pretty big and heavy, but handles so well on bumpy trails. Bumbleride also uses safe materials, and their customer service has been excellent.  It would be awful for someone who needs a small stroller, though. It's not great for shopping because it's big and the basket is on the smaller side. But I've taken it shopping literally once--I don't care for shopping with my baby in tow.  Now that baby is 8 months we also bought a travel stroller (Uppababy Minu). We plan to use that for air travel. Our nanny also uses it for day trips to the zoo etc. because it's easier for her to get it in/out of the car. I still use the Bumbleride for the zoo, museum etc. because I find it comfier and smoother, it has a larger sunshade, and it lays flatter for naps.

I’ve taken my uppababy minu up the trail to vernal falls with my kid that was much younger and the stroller is still in great shape. I didn’t love how it felt on the way back down but it was secure. We were camping in upper pines so we didn’t really have much of a need for it beyond that but it seems like it’d be useful if your kid hates the carrier because that means you’ll be manually carrying your tall kid everywhere and that sounds uncomfortable.

The Uppababy Minu is a one-handed fold. It ticks all your boxes. My only gripe would be that the seat back can be a bit flimsy, like it’s just thick padded cardboard but I’d recommend it hands-down over the Babyzen Yoyo which I felt like would topple sideways at the slightest thing.

We have three. Our home stroller is an Uppababy Vista V2. It stays in our entryway and we use it around our rural neighborhood. Our car stroller is an Uppababy minu. Purchased for travel but we also just keep it in the car for any needs. Our third stroller is a Safety 1st Teenie. This was actually purchased after an airline destroyed our Minu hours before a cruise so it was purchased on the fly and the airline reimbursed us for the expense and repair of our Minu. This one stays in my husband’s car. As our child is very big for their age and nearing two, we will likely purge the strollers in the next 12 months entirely. Kid prefers walking anyways and it’s becoming more annoying than it’s worth to keep them. We may keep the minu or teenie for travel but that is still to be determined.

Just went through this exercise because we moved into a third floor walk up where we have to collapse the stroller after every use and leave it in the vestibule. We went with the Uppababy Minu and we love it! We found it to be sturdier feeling than any of the others you listed (important because we will use it to walk about 3 miles a day every day!) but just as compact, and the one hand fold is truly a nearly effortless one hand fold.

We have 3 strollers and a wagon! We have two kids now but acquired all of these when we only had our first. Standard stroller (with bassinet for nb phase): UB Cruz v2 Travel stroller: UB minu Jogging stroller: BOB all terrain pro Wagon: Veer Love all of them except the minu, but I think ours is the original version. The newer ones look much nicer. We actually use all of these often enough that we won’t be getting rid of any anytime soon. I would suggest starting with a standard full size stroller if you want one you can clip your infant car seat into and/or you want a bassinet attachment option. You can always add the other strollers later if you feel them necessary. I will say that I rarely jog but use the bob often on trails! It’s great, but you wouldn’t jog with them until they have strong head/neck control at 8ish months, so you can probably hold off on that purchase.

I’m also in OC. I have an entire stroller collection at this point. Honestly, I like the Uppababy Minu for running errands and whatnot. It opens and closes with one hand and you can actually fit other things in the back of the SUV. I got the newborn pack bassinet attachment that worked fine. However, baby is much more comfortable in my Nuna Mixx Next. Before I went back to work, I would take my baby for long walks everyday in that. I used the bassinet with both my kids through six months and they got the best naps that way. That said, the Nuna takes up the entire cargo space in my SUVs. I cannot bring it and go for a Target run or a weekend road trip to Palm Springs or SD. If I could only get one stroller, I’d go with the travel one so you actually can travel. Edited to add: I’ve used both strollers at Disneyland, and they were both fine. The added bonus though is that the Minu can actually fold up with the newborn pack bassinet attachment, meaning you can ride the tram. The Nuna bassinet has to be fully removed from the stroller to fold the stroller and the bassinet itself cannot fold up easily for riding the tram so we end up having to do the walk to and from the parking garage. I prefer walking so this isn’t an issue for me.

STM and the first stroller was an UB vista - the bassinet attachment is my favorite. I knew we wanted at least two so it was 100% worth buying brand new. We travel a lot too and have 2 UB Minu’s - best compact, lightweight stroller! Has withheld cobblestone streets in Europe and endless hilly terrain. I didn’t realize how tall my second would be so unfortunately she’s already outgrown the Vista Rumble seat, but the toddler seat works still works just fine, but if we’re going somewhere we might need both to sit, we take the 2 Minu’s

I have an UB vista v2 because we got it with our first knowing we would have at least 2. The bassinet attachment was the BEST with my first; my second quickly outgrew it but it was still awesome. I used the double everywhere we went. Yes it’s a little bulky, but it’s so smooth pushing 2. My second is in the 100th %tile for height and weight so she’s outgrown the rumble seat - can still use the toddler seat just fine! My first still can’t walk everywhere without getting tired (like the zoo) so we take our 2 travel strollers instead! They’re UB Minu’s and we travel quite frequently so we needed something small, compact, but just as sturdy as the Vista. So yes we have 3 in total, but they are always used since the double can’t be used as a double anymore!

I live in an urban area and our minu has done great in snow, uneven sidewalks and even cobble stone in Europe. We use it pretty much everyday. It's not as smooth of a ride as the vista but still very durable. The suspension helps a lot with the bumps. Just sharing because there's a lot of misconception about travel strollers not being as durable and that isn't the case at all if you get one with good suspension and wheels.

Not the uppababy minu! I have had mine a month and I really don’t like it, the wheels get stuck if you do a tight turn. And for the price of if you’d expect much more! My gripe with the vista is it’s freaking ginormous and heavy af. It’s a gorgeous ride, but I only use it for outdoor walks from home and rarer excursions vs daily use. It’s just too big and heavy. We took it into nyc one day when she was still very small and it was so unpleasant having such a large stroller in tight spaces. Made me feel like everything was harder.  We also had a doona as a quick errand stroller and infant car seat, which I loved dearly. I think any kind of stroller system though where the infant carrier clicks onto the frame would be similarly helpful for easy errands and daily life. In retrospect I wish we had gone with a smaller stroller than the vista and maybe just used that with a car seat attachment instead of the doona. We ended up buying an UPPAbaby minu when she was about 5 months old because we wanted a stroller that wasn’t the doona but also wasn’t this humongous thing like the vista (and we wanted to travel, which the minu is good for). I tell friends now to not get a big one like the vista for your first and to instead just buy one if needed.

Trying to pick only one stroller is almost like picking only one pair of shoes. It’s doable, sure, but maybe not the best for every single purpose (example: sneakers at a formal event, or sneakers on a pool deck, or flip flops at the gym etc) each stroller has a purpose it’s intended for. So one and done stroller means it won’t be ideal for everything. Here’s some examples: small and nimble- easy to load into the car, airplane, etc. and easy to maneuver in crowded areas. Lightweight and folds down small. cons are limited storage capacity, cannot grow for two kids, probably doesn’t configure to multiple positions, probably doesn’t have robust wheels with good shocks so steering is probably wonky at times. Vs: uppabbay vista. Handles like a dream, no bumps, steers straight etc, grows for two kids, tons of storage space, it’s got your bassinet, car seat, etc BUT it sucks ass to load into a car, believe me. That thing is gigantic. Forget about airplane travel with it. Would not be fun in a crowded area or small shop. This is just two examples, but that’s not even all the choices, you could go with a jogger, a car seat stroller like the Doona, etc. Personally, I have uppbaby vista (converted to a double currently and used for neighborhood walks) and uppababy minu for travel and out and about. It’s a good set up for what I use them for! So this is why no one can recommend just one. Like what do you want to use it for (neighborhood walks, travel, out and about, jogging)? Where do you live? What car do you drive? Do you intend to fly with it? All of these questions impact what is a good choice for you. But what you it’s described (bassinet, car seat, can handle it all and light and fold down small?) that unfortunately doesn’t exist. It’s like saying you want a shoe that can handle formal events and a hike to go back to my previous analogy.

I love my uppbaby vista 2, but it’s definitely not folding down small like she says she wants. It’s gigantic, but maneuvers like a dream! For those worried about it being heavy; yes, it’s super heavy. Loading into a car sucks BUT the maneuverability is to good that it’s SO easy to push. I think it’s a perfect stroller for neighborhood walks, especially if you can leave it open snd parked somewhere like in your garage, and don’t need to fold/unfold it. Very much a horrible stroller for travel or tight spaces. I currently have mine converted to a double and it gets used daily! I love the kickboard you can add to it for older kids, as well! I load up that giant basket with my toddlers strider bike, helmet, diaper bag, snacks, both kids and it still rolls like a pro!

I have all uppababy and I love it. The mesa car seat, vista stroller, and minu travel stroller. I just travelled with the car seat and travel stroller and it was easy. I bought uppababy’s travel bags for them and they worked great. The vista is nice because of all the storage space. The travel stroller barely fit the diaper bag. I don’t have a convertible car seat so I can’t comment on that. When I was doing my search I looked up consumer reports reviews/testing and went to some department stores to see them in person. I ultimately went with uppababy because of how the stroller closed - it didn’t hit my shins and some other ones did. There’s sooo many good choices it just depends on your budget and what’s important to you! For example - a cup holder. My expensive stroller doesn’t come with one and I really wish it did 😭. Congrats and good luck!

It is really going to depend on your lifestyle and where you use the stroller most. I decided to buy the Uppababy Minu because we could attach both the car seat and bassinet to it, but it wasn’t as expensive as the Vista in case we had a baby that didn’t like the stroller or we ended up having one child only. We ended up with a baby that looooves the stroller and I’m still glad we purchased this one because it works great as both travel and everyday stroller. It’s a very smooth ride and has enough room for everything we need, and if we do have another baby we can upgrade to the Vista body to accommodate two. That said, we live in a rural environment where we most often have to drive somewhere to use the stroller, so it isn’t a big deal that the undercarriage is small because we can put whatever else we need in the car. If you live in an urban environment you might want a larger stroller that will fit everything you need for a whole outing in it, so you can be hands-free.

I have a 3 yo and a 3 mo, and the 3yo started traveling at 8 months or so. We've always gotten a seat for baby on the plane, and the travel carseat fits in the basket of the Vista (cosco scenara next). I liked having the full basket for travel. Uppababy customer service is excellent. Air Canada ripped the handle off my stroller bag. AC reimbursed me, but Uppababy had a new one on my doorstep 2 days later.

Have you thought of using your Minu and add Piggyback Ride-Along Board? If your son is tired, he can stand on the kick back. Additionally, Bring a baby carrier and wear the infant for instances when your son has to nap. This will be our travel set up for when we have our second child. The other option is getting an umbrella stroller for your son, since it’s easier/lighter to carry if he doesn’t want to use the stroller. Bring the Minu for your daughter.

Or you could go the wagon route which will be more useful after they start walking, but it will take up your trunk space and they aren't light. The wonderwagon w1 or the Evenflo pivot are both great wagons. The single-to-double strollers are not very good in either category. They are often heavy and bulky, and steer like garbage if you try and add a second kid in. It is virtually impossible to go over even the smallest sidewalk crack or curb when there are two kids in. We ended up giving our Uppababy Vista away because of this.

To me people are usually between bugaboo butterfly, uppababy minu, aer Joolz. If you don’t need it to fit in overhead compartment for flights then Nuna TRVL maybe. Agree with the other poster if you can go somewhere to test drive and do the fold etc, see handlebar height, basket size, that’s usually most helpful. For example on the surface Joolz and Bugaboo seem soo similar but for whatever reason I kept bumping into things with the Bugaboo (using the dummy doll inside for weight) so I went for Joolz. Good luck!

I’m not sure about how upright the seats are but I tried both of these as well as the Joolz Aer plus and Yo-yo 3 and ended up getting the Joolz Aer Plus. The sales person told me they have had tons of issues with the butterfly’s wheels falling off and she can’t recommend it. The Minu was much heavier than the Joolz and Yo-yo. I didn’t like where the carry strap was located on the Minu. My husband couldn’t fold the yo-yo. Joolz was easy all around. You can also add car seat adapters and they have a bassinet if you want to use it for a small baby.

I have a Cruz, a vista, and a Minu (my wife is a stroller hoarder). The Minu is our daily go-to stroller for my 2 year old. It’s extremely easy to fold up and carry places, and despite the small wheels it handles different terrain adequately (and we live in the Boston area with notoriously terrible sidewalks). It’s not anywhere near as smooth as the Cruz or vista, but the pros outweigh the cons. That said, I probably wouldn’t use it for a really young baby, or if I was using it heavily. With a 2 year old the stroller is really more for backup or short trips to daycare and such. For long stroller walks (which we took more frequently with a baby), something a bit more ergonomic for the adults is better. Both the Cruz and Vista worked great with a car seat, so that’s nice. Cruz vs vista, I’d say Cruz. The vista is a beast that can handle all sorts of crazy terrain and the undercarriage is great, but it’s just so BIG. Heavy, awkward to handle when folded, very difficult to navigate small aisles in stores, etc. It’s been a really long time since I opted to break out the Vista, and even that time I regretted it. Cruz is less big, but big enough.

Not OP, but just to be clear, the Minu basket is great for a travel stroller but definitely not as good as the Cruz. I have the Cruz and the Minu and like you I love throwing everything in the basket when out shopping. I do some medium size grocery runs with my Cruz but would only be able to do a small grocery run with the Minu. It's convenient only when I don't have a lot to buy and definitely wouldn't fit a diaper box. Edit: also my son likes to be very straight too and he doesn't mind the Minu but I do find that he ends up in a very slouched position even with the back at its most upright.

Yeah, the Minu has the lap bar and my son holds onto it but it's very close to the body. For the Minu, I think the slouch has to do with the way the seat is structured and the angle of the seat kind of makes him slide down a bit even with the bar to hold on to. He doesn't complain and enjoys that stroller as much as the Cruz, it just doesn't look as comfortable to me. We tired a ton of other travel strollers and the Minu seemed to be the one with the least amount of slouch if that makes a difference. The only one I couldn't try was the Joolz Aer. And ya, I totally get what you mean about the basket. The Minu is great and you can stuff a lot under there, just no diaper boxes (plus a half grocery haul like I do 😂).

I was in a very similar situation to you! I also live in Quebec (MTL), we're also both runners, and we also travelled internationally with our baby. I think it depends on your lifestyle a lot. We have a car but walk everywhere and live close to a metro. We go out to the park nearly every day, walk to daycare, and I took daily walks when my son was a newborn. I'd say focus on and buy the everyday stroller first if you plan on doing regular walks. If you mostly drive everywhere and only need an everyday stroller for malls, then using the travel stroller with some kind of newborn compatible option might be sufficient. But if you're like me then you 100% need to invest in a good everyday stroller, which may or may not be a jogging stroller (I've got the Uppababy Cruz). As others have said, only buy the travel stroller right before your trip. By then, you'll know baby's age (if you need to accommodate for newborn recline/bassinet or if they're 6+ months) and you'll know what you like/don't like in a stroller. We got an Uppababy Minu for super cheap on marketplace for that, and if I had to go back I would possibly get an even more compact travel stroller, just because I now use it as my trunk stroller when we're driving places and it still takes a decent amount of space in the trunk. As for jogging stroller, I was lucky to be given one by a friend. At first I wanted to try jogging with my son before we committed to buying a good quality jogging stroller and it turns out that 1) my son doesn't enjoy the jogging stroller as much as his everyday stroller 2) both my husband and I like the freedom of running without a stroller and getting some alone time away from baby 3) running with a stroller is so much more difficult. Now I use my jogging stroller in the winter months as long as there's snow on the ground. My Cruz definitely doesn't cut it when the sidewalks haven't been ploughed and we still go for daily walks in the winter. So depending on the snow situation where you live, you may need a jogging stroller with big air filled tires regardless of whether you actually run with it or not. So yes, you may need 3 strollers (I do), but you should start with 1 and buy the rest as you go.

Hi! Lasalle mom here, so not exactly in the downtown core but close enough (walking distance to angrignon park and metro). Probably not what you want to hear but I ended up with 3 strollers, which I keep in my garage or car. The Uppababy Cruz was my first purchase and I love it for 70% of the year. My son clearly prefers it over other strollers, it's smooth to push and doesn't feel too bulky. The only issues I have with it are: 1. It's terrible in heavy slush/snow. The slush gets stuck in the casing of the front wheel and basically makes it so the wheels can't turn and you end up with a stroller that has 2 skis as front wheels. This may not happen to you in the downtown core but in LaSalle it can take a few days for some sidewalks to be cleared and also angrignon park can have a lot of accumulated slush. 2. It's a bit bulky for the metro. Definitely doable - we've used it to go to the biodôme for example or longer days out, but if you end up at a metro where the elevators/escalators don't work, or at McGill where you want to go the Eaton center and there's literally no way of doing it without taking 4 steps then you'll want something more compact/lightweight for those cases. Same thing for tiny store entrances that you need to take steps to get into - you'll need something more compact and lightweight if you go to those a lot, but compact and lightweight are terrible in the snow/slush. So basically I ended up with the Cruz which I use 70% of the year (I walk A LOT) and love. Then in my 2nd winter (Feb baby) I got a big jogging stroller (Mountain Buggy all terrain I think) for free from a friend for the winter months because it has the 3 wheels with inflatable tires and is just amazing in the snow and slush. It's very heavy and bulky, which is why I don't use it the rest of the year. And then I got an Uppababy Minu on FB marketplace for cheap, which I use for travel, going on the metro and quick errands at the mall. I keep this one in the trunk of my car because it takes less space and I use it when I need something compact/lightweight that folds easily and can be carried with a strap. I think you need to consider how much walking you'll be doing during the winter months and whether you'll be baby wearing a lot or not. I thought I would baby wear a lot but turns out that babies are heavy and I'm pretty small framed and I was just way more comfortable with a stroller. Edit: Reading other replies, I also remembered another big plus for the Cruz is that I can put my entire groceries in the basket under there (roughly 2 bags). I like to walk to the grocery store over taking the car so it's nice to have when I'm grocery shopping with baby.

I think the Vista would be difficult in shops/restaurants and public transportation. We did Paris with the Minu and it was great except for the fold still being quite bulky in an overcrowded metro/train. For any type of double stroller, you'd have to consider how it would do on public transportation if you're not planning on using a rental car. Most (all?) doubles fold quite bulky as far as I know, and you may end up needing to fold your stroller on public transit at some points? Same goes for eating at restaurants - the stroller has to go somewhere and there isn't a lot of space in some places, although I guess you could choose your restaurants accordingly. Is there a reason why you're not going for 2 compact travel strollers rather than having 1 parent push both kids? Something like the Stokke Yoyo or Ergobaby Metro that could be newborn ready and a cheaper umbrella stroller or even your Minu. Are you planning naps on the go for your 2 year old? That's something else to consider - if so then they probably need something more comfy than an umbrella stroller. Edit: there's the Yoyo Connect that allows connection between 2 yoyos but it seems like the 2nd stroller can't be used as an independent stroller - only when connected. There's also the Bumprider Connect 3 that seems interesting but it doesn't look like it's sold in Canada.

I wouldnt bring either. I would bring a cosco scenera next for carseat because its cheap and lightweight and a travel stroller that folds small (i reccomend city tour 2 because it’s inexpensive and we love it, but babyzen yoyo, uppababy minu or bugaboo butterfly are all also highly reccomended). Buy travel stroller secondhand to save money. You cannot use your doona as a stroller in europe. Like absolutely not. At that point its an incredibly heavy carseat, i wouldnt want to lug that accross the globe. Your main stroller is also so bulky and heavy.

Honestly get the stroller that works for today. I got a vista with my first intending to use as a double, but with an eventual 21 mo age gap I decided I'd prefer side by side and we've with the bugaboo donkey and passed our vista to a friend and first time mom. I'm sure I could have recouped some cost on Marketplace. We have a single UPPAbaby minu and love it, have the rider board that never got much play until my kids were 3+. I do like that we could snap a carseat in mostly bc my doctor's office parking lot is impossible to park in so I usually street park and walk a few blocks. Now pregnant w my 3rd about ready to move the donkey back to single mode as we moved and no longer walk to daycare daily. But we literally put 1000 miles on the donkey in double mode and could not recommend enough! Worth pushing a few side by side and tandem and thinking about how you'll use it. I never put either donkey or vista into my car with regularity. They are too enormous 😂 A lot of my friends who don't live in a city didn't have their kids in strollers after 2 years old. We would walk miles a day and my 4.5 year old would happily take a ride. There isn't another option besides walking so 🤷🏻‍♀️ something else to consider.

Yes picked the minu as our travel option! Cruz is nearly as big as the vista. Minu folds down small, I did put it overhead once on a flight w large storage in the cabin but usually pop it into a cheap travel bag and gate check. It lived in our car for many moons and likely will again for a while when the new baby arrives.

I wanted to be a one stroller family, so got the minu. Loved the size and portability. We ended up getting another stroller because it doesn’t do well of various terrain AND didn’t realize I would want the parent facing feature. It’s so nice going on a long walk and staring at your LO (technically the infant car seat attachment would face you, but it’s not as comfy now that he’s getting bigger). I do not regret getting the minu though. It fits perfectly behind our car seat and use it often

The minu is a pretty sturdy and impressive travel stroller. It’ll handle bumpy sidewalks and some gravel/dirt terrain ok but it will not handle sand and isn’t one I would take with me to a hiking trail or anything. If you want an all terrain and are regularly planning to take it on that terrain, I would get a Cruz. If you’re mostly city living and want something durable, light and with a pretty hefty basket still, the minu is great.

UB customer care and warranty is incredible. I love our vista. I think the Minu would be too small for Disney personally (i liked using Bob Duallie @ DL) Same age gap (18 mos), now 4, 2.5, 9 mos For air travel I do a carrier, 2 backpack harnesses, and a single GB pockit. More versatile than a double stroller and longevity matters - while traveling 5 months ago any of the 3 kids could go in stroller or carrier and 2/3 could walk with handholding or in harness backpack

This process was so stressful for me, but I like where we ended up. We walk in our neighborhood a lot and long walks, so this made sense for us. Very late to this but we took our daughter abroad a bunch in the first year-ish: to Bermuda at 4 months, the UK at 8 months, Austria at 10 months, and Denmark at 13. My big learnings: 1. Business class + bassinet seat all the way. It can be A LOT of homework to figure out what airlines offer w/r/t bassinets, and the call center agents are often useless (looking at you, Austrian), but it works so much better than trying to sleep them in the car seat, plus you actually arrive reasonably refreshed. When it comes to bassinet options and availability, British Airways is my favorite - straightforward, simple, and they have both a bassinet for sleeping and a baby seat for waking time 2. The CoZiGo is an absolute must-have. It’s designed to fit over airline bassinets, but tbh it fits over just about anything (including travel strollers), and it creates a blacked-out space plus has a pocket for the white noise machine. With airline bassinet + CoZiGo our daughter fully slept thru her first 2 TATL flights 3. You’ll want a travel stroller. The UPPAbaby Minu is excellent and folds up in seconds. You’ll also want a stroller bag to keep it in good shape 4. A suite at a 4-star >>> a standard room at a 5-star if you’re ever making that choice. You’ll want space to read, get ready for bed, etc with the lights on and without worrying about how much noise you’re making Hope this is helpful, lots of trial and error in the above. Best of luck with the rest of the pregnancy!

Uppababy minu. Unless you plan on going over super uneven payment like all the time or plan on 2 under 2, I think most people could do with just a travel stroller. I’m sure there are other reasons for a full size but my point is that I think lots of people could at least consider downsizing. When we visited family in France, everyone used travel strollers. Even on the cobbles! Admittedly the worst of the cobbles really sucked but the benefit of being able to fit the stroller into basically every space we wanted was a huge plus. Also I hear people complain all the time about the size and weight of full size strollers, especially when they’re by themselves.

Maybe get your hands on a used Minu? We’ve done many foreign travels with it. It works great on the cobblestones. It folds up well, you can put it in overhead bin. And comes with a strap to carry. Oh! And you can open it with one hand which is super useful.  It’s more durable the Doona but not a full size stroller.  On one trip, the airline broke the frame. Luckily on the way home. Uppababy replaced it for free!  We haven’t had any issues since we bought one of those large, red ‘gate check’ bags.  Good luck!  Also- you can rent strollers. There’s plenty of companies out there. Not cheap but you’ll get a stroller that is appropriate for the place you are going

Ok..I'm probably not helpful here BUT I wanted to give my 2 cents on having 3 strollers which I love/use them all. I have a BOB running stroller just for runs. It is a dream to push and I don't need to worry about baby being bounced around. I have a Babyjogger City Select double stroller and it currently has a toddler seat and a baby carseat. It is perfect for going on walks as my toddler needs to take breaks sometimes. This is the stroller that lives in the car. I have the Uppababy Minu for travel that we've taken on at least a dozen trips (before the arrival of the second child). It's small/light enough for travel but large enough to have sturdy wheels for non-pavement roads and large enough basket for the essentials. I haven't taken it traveling since I've had kiddo #2 (we traveled with the double stroller instead..not ideal but baby still needed the infant seat). All strollers were purchased for kid #1 and I have used them through kid #2. I also want to add that while I heavily recommend the BOB and Uppbaby Minu, I am not a fan of the Babyjogger (but am a fan of having a double stroller).

Ridge is a solid jogging/off-road stroller which is great as we live pretty rurally and also love hiking/camping and walking the dog. We normally gate check but some airlines let you bring it on board. You can buy the travel bag (backpack) that makes it easy to transport and insures it if the airline damages it.) I’m also petite and don’t have any problems with hills with either one. What I like about the Minu: one hand fold and unfold, isn’t too big for Muni, and it handles bumpy sidewalks just fine. A jogging stroller will give baby a smoother ride, but those are heavy. (We had had one of those too before giving it away.) So one recommendation for the Minu at least!

By rotating car seat do you mean as in the base in the car? If so we did the maxi-cosi pearl pro with 360 and sliding base, and uppababy makes the adapter for their strollers to be compatible with maxi cosi. We have the Cruz and then will get the minu later. At least here in Europe the maxi cosi car seat is flight and travel approved and works work both iso fix and a normal seatbelt.

We chose Uppababy because we got a hand me down bassinet and car seat, for its resale value, and service from the Uppababy hub located in Leaside. If you go to the hub, you can customize your stroller colours for an extra $50, and they can delay the start of your warranty. We live close to downtown Toronto and debated between Uppababy Minu and Cruz for the longest time. We ultimately chose the Cruz because we do a lot of walks on park terrain and preferred the suspension. It is heavier and larger compared to the Minu, and we took into account stairs that we would have to carry the stroller up to. I would suggest going into the store to check out strollers to see what would fit your lifestyle, environment, and budget.

We just traveled with our 6 month old and the Uppababy Minu travel stroller. We got the travel bag for it too just in case so we would be covered if the airline damaged it. It worked great for the airport and walking around our destination.

👋 owner of 5 strollers here If I could do it over again and price was no concern, I’d keep our nuna pipa car seat and get the nuna trvl stroller. We got an uppababy minu stroller with adapters and it’s just annoying, and a vista for home which is so massive and only nice when baby was bassinet aged and for walking to the farmers market and loading up the basket. We ended up using the free Nuna stroller I got in a Facebook group instead cause the car seat just clipped in directly even though it took up our whole trunk. If price was of concern, we have a baby jogger that is our second most used stroller cause the graco car seat we got for backup fits in nice, it’s indestructible, and can be used for exercise. Whatever you do I recommend a system that is easily compatible your car seat without adapters.

uppababy minu (and i love it as a primary!) BUT i also find myself reaching for the carrier much more often tbh... we love carriers and walks really and baby doesn't cry in the carrier but seems to hate the restriction of the stroller! Bonus it's a graduated weight vest basically.. so at least you get a work out in !

Up until my son was 10 months or so, I brought the Cruz and gate-checked it. I would use a carrier at the airport but still needed a stroller at the destination. The Cruz's storage is great and baby was super comfortable in it. I had no issues with AC or Porter at YTZ and YUL. They were careful, even at times unfolding it and getting it ready for me to use once I disembarked. (Maybe because I travelled alone those times?) Now that he's over 1 year old, drinking milk, eating solids really well, and walking around, I travel with the Minu. It's lighter, more compact, and more convenient to use during the trip, and the basket is spacious enough for us. I still gate-check it.

Love the Joolz Aer. I've put in hundreds of miles with it and it's still going strong. I keep waiting for the wheels to eventually wear down. I carry it up and down subway stairs, take it on the bus, etc. Someone had given us a much heavier duty Uppa Baby stroller that we used like three times then never again because we found the Joolz so much more manageable.

100% worth the money - you'll use it everyday - and way easier to roll & fold than other options - also very sturdy

Conversely we are still going strong with 3 kids on it used daily. 9 month old in a seat and then my 2 year old and 4 year old switch off who is in the seat and who is on the board standing.

We got a chico keyfit 30 travel system with the activ3 jogging stroller for our first kid and then got an Upupbaby when our second came. They're definitely expensive and the Upupbaby is probably overpriced but they're both amazing and well worth the investment. If you can afford the premium it's a solid buy.m, especially if you can find them used. Just make sure any car seat combos aren't expired. You'll obviously be fine with a Graco, but there's definitely a big jump in quality that's worth it for how often you'll be pushing these things around.

We started with an Uppababy Mesa car seat combo stroller for baby #1. It’s easy to use and you can plop the car seat right in there. The frame is lightweight and easy to collapse. I think that one only has single baby capability, but they make one that you can upgrade to a double if needed, which might be the way to go if you are planning on having more. Our second child 3 years old has a neurological disability and handles like a baby, so we had to take that into consideration when baby #3 arrived for a double stroller due to being a larger sized baby (we want to avoid using a wheelchair as long as he’s small enough). We got the Veer switch and roll for that due to higher weight capacity and sturdiness. It has a converter attachment for our uppababy seat. The wheels are a bit bigger so it’s better for curbs and terrain. The width is a little wider than most strollers but can fit through doorways, it just takes some precision. It’s heavier compared to our single stroller, but not too bad. Overall we like it (we didn’t use other double strollers to compare though).

r/daddit • My wife has a crazy addiction to buying strollers. So we’ve tried em all. ->
