The new uppababy Minu v3 is totally capable of travel and daily suburban strolls. Then when baby is 6 months old you can decide if you want a jogging stroller. But you don’t need that from newborn stage so i wouldn’t worry about it for now. Only drawback for you is the handle does not extend. It’s at an average height so see if you can check it in person.

I also have the Joolz Aer Plus and just tried out the minu v3. I had a hard time opening the minu V3. It is definitely not as smooth as the joolz. I don’t know if I got a defective one or if that’s the way it is on all. Is anyone having trouble with squeeza and fold/ unfold on minu v3? I absolutely love the one-handed fold, and the light weight of the Joolz. I hate the useless recline and the tiny under basket. The minu has a huge and capable basket and a great recline. It’s a tough choice, but it is 3 pounds heavier also

Update…. I also bought from Nordstrom and went ahead and bought a second one just to compare. it didn’t seem right. The fold on my second one so far seems flawless. I think some of the early ones that came out of the minu, V3 have this issue. Luckily I bought this before the enormous price increase.. wow $550!!!

I just bought a minu v3 and I’m having trouble getting it open. It opens like two out of three times but I find the squeeze and open mechanism to be not smooth as i hd hoped . Is anyone else having this problem?

Having just purchased a travel stroller, we looked at the stokke yoyo, bugaboo butterfly, uppababy minu v3, silvercross jet 5, and joolz aer -- all comply with most overhead cabin sizing. I would recommend also purchasing the stroller case/carrier so it looks more like a standard carry-on. Some airline staff might make you gate-check regardless of size once they see that it is a stroller. Having the cover/case will reduce that issue.

We were also looking for a overhead storable, newborn-friendly travel stroller and decided on the uppababy minu3 which also has a one-hand fold. (Unfortunately there are recent pricing increases from tariffs, but you can find several online stores that give 20% rebates/ store credit back) I know it's not one of the two you listed, but it may be a contender as it meets all three criteria.

We’ve used the minu V3 for our 1 month infant. Works great, and lies close to fully flat for infants. Make sure to use the infant feet cover to keep them from sliding out. It’s tucked under the bottom of the seat. We also got the adapter for the bassinet / aria car seat, but haven’t had to use it yet.

Thoughts about the uppababy MINUs - Minu v1 I think this is the only version that has a collapsible bassinet option. I do not think you can buy this version from uppababy anymore or the bassinet accessory. I’ve seen these floating around Facebook marketplace sometimes. - Minu v2: uppababy just stopped making Minu v2s but all the accessories are still available at their website, and lots of Minu v2s are still in stock in most retailers and goodbuygear. I previously had a Minu v2 and I absolutely loved it. You can get car seat adapters so it can be compatible with uppababy’s car seat and bassinet attachment (which is safe sleep approved), and then at 3mo you can start using the regular seat. The only thing is you need to uninstall the fabric seat to use the bassinet with the adapters, but I didn’t need the fabric seat at the time anyways. -Minu v3: uppababy just released this version, it is about the size of the bugaboo butterfly now so it can go on the overhead compartment of the plane. It has sturdier wheels than the butterfly and is “newborn friendly.” Unfortunately uppababy decided not to make the traditional bassinet compatible with this stroller, but the seat almost lies flat so it’s “not necessary.” It does have car seat adapters though so that is helpful. None of the minus have reversible seats. But the Minu v2 has the bassinet that you can have facing toward you. Note on the YOYOs: I have less experience with the yo-yo, but i briefly used the newborn attachment and I really found it handy. It was nice to have a super compact stroller in tight spaces where I could potentially lay my little one for a nap in a friends house or restaurant. The yo-yo also has a bassinet shell that can be used, and car seat adapters for the nuna. However I think you have to use one adapter/set at a time (you can’t keep the newborn attachment on under and attach the car seat on top. ) The yo-yo2 and 3 frame is the same, but the yoyo3 fabric seat has a much better shade coverage. If you get the full stroller and a newborn pack separately, definitely get the yoyo3 and not a yoyo2. Alternatively you can get the yoyo2 and separately buy a yoyo3 color pack.

I’m so excited for the minu v3! I used the minu v2 with an adaptor for my newborn so I could use the bassinet and car seat. So if for any reason you don’t like the v3’s newborn features, I would say get the adapters. The minu is so travel friendly I love it!

I love our Uppababy Minu. Gave away our Vista and only use the Minu as our main stroller. The recline is close to flat. We used it for naps from 4 months on. I love that it folds up and fits overhead in airplanes. We use the UB backpack. The storage is probably its biggest flaw. It’s not terrible but certainly won’t fit a fully packed diaper backpack. But if it’s just one 3yo you should be fine. Some snacks, maybe pull-ups or a backup outfit, and toys/random accessories would fit in a softer bag underneath. We also have a Zoe Traveler which is basically a dupe. They’re very similar but you can feel the Minu materials’ quality is just a little more luxe and the brake and ride are just a tiny bit noticeably smoother.

Uppababy Minu. We love it so much it's also our everyday stroller (suburb, drive everywhere life). Goes into a little backpack that fits in the overhead bin. One handed fold, stands on its own when folded, nearly flat recline. Basket underneath is a bit small but we manage.

Love the Uppababy Minu. The V3 has some nice upgrade features from the first two iterations. It’s so much smoother than my mountain buggy nano or Zoe stroller and the recline is close to flat. Underbasket is a little small but we’ve managed to pack it for two kids under 3-4 for Disney park days.

I have the Uppababy Vista and my biggest complaint is how BIG it is. I leave the house nearly every day and could not get that thing loaded in and out of the car smoothly. We ended up making it our garage stroller and it's used daily for walking the kiddo with the dogs, but that's it. For the most part, I used a carrier or hip carrier until recently when I sprung for the Uppababy Minu V3 travel stroller. I LOVE it. Even as a travel stroller, it's buttery smooth, collapsible with one hand and light enough to easily carry. Personally, I would consider the Cruz. Smaller foot print, not as heavy, doesn't take up your entire car.

I just bought the Minu v3 today!! The local baby store had literally just gotten it in. We currently have the Nuna triv and wanted a travel stroller to keep in the car. I brought my 13 mo son and tried out the bugaboo, joolz and the minu V3. The minu was the best one out of all three. Easiest to fold up, has a flap on top to be able to see down to the baby, and easiest capability to expand the seat up/down. it was super helpful testing them out right beside each other!

I felt like it would be more practical to get the Uppababy minu v3 with the Uppababy aria. The aria car seat is very lightweight so much easier to carry. I can click it into the stroller if needed, or if I’m afraid of leaving baby in the car seat for too long, i can put baby in the minu v3 from birth. Won’t have to buy a new stroller for the baby once they outgrow the infant car seat. The minu is very compact so it not only takes up little trunk space but will fit in the overhead bin of an airplane, so I don’t have to worry about airlines damaging my stroller.

I’m in NYC so this is pretty normal! Sometimes I baby wear the baby and older kiddo walks but they have a bigger age difference. Otherwise we use a stroller. We have the Uppababy Cruz (with a ride along board) for longer days out walking, and the Uppababy Minu v3 for trips that involve the bus, train or stairs. When I have the Minu the kids alternate being in the seat depending on whether I’m wearing the baby or older kiddo is walking/sitting. For foldable travel strollers people also love the Joolz Aer and the Yoyo. I know the Minu and Yo-yo both have ride along boards for bigger kid but not sure if they impede folding. A 3 year old can definitely walk for 20-30 min - hard for a 2 year old though! Edit to add: I also see a lot of New Yorkers baby wear the little one and older one is on a micro mini scooter. There’s one that folds which is easy to carry!

We have 4 strollers currently and will be reassessing our strollers shortly with the arrival of number 2! We will likely get rid of a few.  We bought the Vista V2 when it still came with the bassinet. We live in the PNW and it was really important to my mental health that I could get out on the trails. The suspension on the Vista is awesome. I can handle almost any trail (without stairs or sand) easily without the handle shaking my hands. Uppababy (UB) stands behind their products and the strollers also hold a lot of resale value. They replaced parts that broke during air travel. I wanted a stroller that I could add another kid onto because we knew we wanted more. It was amazing for postpartum because of the bassinet and how easy it was to push. I got the cozy Ganoosh and was still able to get outside on cold days. It was annoying to get out of the car and it had major pros and cons while traveling. The storage is also incredible. I can grocery shop, go on long adventures, and basically do a whole road trip by using the basket beneath. We're using it a lot less during the toddler years because she's walking. We use our travel stroller a lot more. We will likely keep this for our second so we can have both kids on the trails. However, we may also reassess, sell this, and get a side by side or wagon instead because I have heard this is hard to push and maneuver with two kids.  Baby Jogger City (old version): this came from a buy nothing group. It is okay, a little tough to fold, and seems not to have held up well for a second child. When I have the energy it will go back to the Buy Nothing Group. Misleading because it's not actually a jogging stroller.  Bob Wayfinder Jogging Stroller: bought this for my husband. He likes it a lot and uses it all the time but I find it a lot harder to handle and steer than my Vista. I'm also short so I find this is too talk for me.  Travel stroller:  Bugaboo Butterfly: I bought this and the Minu v3 at the same time. I returned it and kept the Minu v3 The butterfly is great. Now that we've having two I wish I had kept both because it is now so much more expensive with the tariffs.  Minu v3: We have switched to this as our everyday stroller. I really love this one. It has a nest for newborn compatibility so I won't have to carry a bassinet. It folds up so small and it pushes great. It is light enough to carry up and down the stairs but the push isn't nearly as smooth as the Vista. The basket is also tiny. I have to pack a different diaper bag when I use this stroller. I agonized over the choices and  We will definitely be getting a double travel stroller for two but will likely keep most of the others as there will be times when I want to have just one kid with me or be able to jog or tackle trails.  There are tons of cheaper travel strollers (the Bombi is one I'm super interested in) but I am glad I splurged.  Strollers are a big "quality of life" changer. Yes, you can get a cheap stroller. A Graco will definitely get the job done. But if you're doing a lot of walking it is much more enjoyable with a higher quality product. Using my sister's Graco is annoying and stops me from wanting to adventure when I have to push it.

Oh my gosh, I can’t imagine carrying the e-gazelle up and down stairs. It’s already a heavy stroller and then the battery adds more weight. If you’re going on the train and/or up and down stairs, I’d strongly recommend a travel-sized stroller like a Yoyo, Aer+, or Minu V3. Or just baby-wearing. The Vista is also awkward to carry, doesn’t have a good handle for it. For the hills I can appreciate the benefit of the battery… but I’d say a lighter stroller or baby-wearing is still the way to go. Or maybe consider a 3-wheel jogger type stroller since many have a really nice push (most are heavy though). The Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 isn’t too heavy and has a really easy, quick fold. Thule Spring might be a good one to look at as well.

We went uppababy vista and uppababy minu v3 over nuna because UB sells backward compatible parts back to 2015 models on their website. To my understanding, if you need a part for your Nuna- you’re a little SOL. The UB car seat clicks into the minu. So we’re opting for Minu over doona because it can go from birth to a little older, and weighs under 20 lbs I think bugaboo is more of an UB competitor than Nuna

My Minu V3 just arrived and it is perfect. I looked at so many, before this came out I was on the path for a Joolz Aer+ and bassinet. It is a huge relief that for upcoming plane travel with the baby, I won’t need both a bassinet AND a car seat. The lie flat + footmuff combination is so easy.

Love my minu v3. Easy to fold and unfold. Super compact and light. Fits in overhead bin. Large basket beneath (for its size). Has a really nice strap to make it easy to carry. Can get an adapter for the car seat. Doesn’t lay completely flat but close to it. Travel bag is $90 I believe which is a lot but I’ve seen people say Uppababy will expedite a new stroller if it breaks while it’s in the travel bag so I think it’s worth it if that’s true. Overall I hear their customer service is amazing. And that their strollers are far superior to Nuna. But Nuna has better car seats.

Can you use the Doona as a car seat for airplanes? You'd have to buy an extra seat, but it is safer than having an infant sitting in your lap. (There's a recent NYT article from March on this.) This doesn't mean you won't need a travel stroller, but it gives you time to use at least one stroller to know what you like and don't like before purchasing one. You didn't list your budget? If you really do want a travel stroller, the Nuna Trvl Lx stroller can be a travel system with its infant car seat. The stroller also has a cocoon mode that's you can use from birth without the car seat or extra bassinet (although check with your pediatrician since the recline looks a bit high). Nuna is certified greenguard gold. A con though is that their seatback heights tend to be a few inches shorter than other strollers, so if you have a taller baby, then they will outgrow their Nuna stroller. Uppababy Minu V3 is similar but I think their seatback height is higher and they have car seat adapters compatible with other brands if you don't want to use their infant car seat. Both Uppababy and Nuna car seats can be used on airplanes. You can purchase a stroller travel bag for Minu and register it before flying so if you can't stash it in the cabin overhead, then damages from gate checking it will be covered. If the Minu V3 was available when I was looking, that probably would have been my top choice. Unfortunately it wasn't and there weren't many NB compatible travel strollers at the time. I ended up getting a Joolz Aer+ with their bassinet attachment. Someone mentioned Joie and I own the Joie Hazel myself for daily walks. I just got off a call with them for troubleshooting something else and confirmed that they do add flame retardants to all of their products. It is in compliance with CA Prop 65, but that just could mean another flame retardant that hasn't been tested/banned yet.

"Travel System" just means a stroller bundled with a compatible car seat. Most strollers are compatible with multiple car seats with adapters, so I wouldn't limit myself to just packages advertised as travel systems. The notable exceptions are Uppababy car seats, which I think are only compatible with Uppababy strollers, and Nuna strollers, which are only compatible with Nuna car seats. Apologies in advance as my examples are mostly the higher-end brands; I swear I'm not a plug for any of them, it's just the space I've done the most research. IMHO, the main factor you should consider (aside from budget) is lifestyle. I'd broadly group strollers into 5 categories (excluding 3-wheelers and side-by-sides, which I don't know much about). Narrowing down which category fits your lifestyle best will help you eliminate a bunch of strollers immediately, which will make it much easier to further narrow down the best choice for you: 1. Ultracompact/travel strollers: - Most compact fold; IATA-compliant (i.e., approved as overhead luggage by most* airlines, although each airline may be different) - Typically <= 15-ish lbs - Non-reversible seats - Typically tiny wheels (<= 6" at rear) and minimal suspension - E.g.: Uppababy Minu v3, Bugaboo Butterfly, Joolz Aer+, Stokke/Babyzen Yoyo, Cybex Libelle, Peg Perego Volo, Ergobaby Metro +/3 2. Compact/Lightweight (Non-reversible) - Bigger (but still compact) fold, but probably not cabin approved. Can gate-check - Typically <=20-ish lbs - Non-reversible seats - Slightly bigger wheels (maybe 6-8" at rear) - E.g., Uppababy Minu v2, Nuna TRVL/TRVL LX, Cybex Beezy, Silver Cross Dune, Peg Perego Selfie 3. Hybrid (Lightweight Modular) - Bigger fold again, so won't fit in overhead, but should be able to gate-check. - <=24 lbs - Reversible (i.e., modular) seats - Bigger wheels (typically 7-10" at rear) - e.g., Nuna TRIV Next, Bugaboo Dragonfly, Peg Perego Vivace, Cybex Mios, Joolz Hub 2 4. Full-size Single (Modular) - Much bulkier fold; might not be able to gate-check, most likely have to be checked luggage - Typically >24 lbs - Bigger wheels (typically 10"+ at rear) - E.g., Uppababy Cruz v2, Nuna Mixx Next, Cybex Balios S Lux 2, Cybex Priam, Peg Perego Veloce, Silver Cross Reef, Bugaboo Fox, Joolz Day 5. Single-to-double - Has ability to add a second seat - Biggest folded dimensions; will be checked luggage - Typically >26 lbs - Biggest wheels (typically 11"+ at rear) - E.g., Uppababy Vista v2/v3, Nuna Demi Grow/Next, Cybex Gazelle S, Peg Perego Ypsi/Agio Z4, Silver Cross Wave, Bugaboo Kangaroo, Joolz Geo Everything above is a gross generalization - the Bugaboo Fox has massive 12" rear wheels and the Agio Z4 is lighter and folds more compact than most full-size single strollers. I think it might be easier to ignore categories 1 and 5 above as they have more specific use cases, unless you're having twins (although a side-by-side might be better in this case) or know for a fact you'll want the ability to toss the stroller in the overhead right from the get-go. So, between categories 2-4, the first question would be whether you want a reversible seat so the baby can face you? If you want this feature, then eliminate category 2. You're left with just 3 and 4, which should hopefully be a more manageable decision. Do you live downtown and walk everywhere? Then a compact fold might not matter for you and you'll want a sturdier stroller that can go over more varied types of terrain and stand up to all-day use - so stick to the full-size single category. If you live in the suburbs and drive everywhere, you might want what I've called a "hybrid", which has a reversible seat but still folds smaller than other full-size singles (easier to fit in trunk). As others have mentioned, I would also highly recommend trying them in-store. I actually found Dear-born baby to have more strollers to play around with than WCK, which had many options locked up.

I’m definitely getting it! I got to test it out last month at my local uppababy store and compared it with the minu V2. We love that it’s so compact when it folds and easily fits in the overhead bin. For a stroller, uppababy minu v3. You’re going to want to probably get 2 convertible seats - one for each car. We just registered for graco extend 2 fit seats. They’re good for tall front seat drivers and will last until baby needs a booster. Or something similar but a convertible is what you need.

I say this as someone who could buy a Doona and not bat an eye at the price if that helps. It’s good in theory but then your baby has to be in a car seat 24/7 which isn’t good or safe. Babies shouldn’t be in car seats when not in the car. Positional asphyxiation is a risk. Also it’s just not good for their development. You’ll need a travel stroller anyways for when they’re too big for the Doona so might as well just start off with the regular travel stroller. I recommend Joolz Aer+ or Uppababy Minu V3 then just get the adapters for your car seat if you need a car seat on your trip. Both strollers fit in overhead bin

I thought the Uppababy mesa car seat (that you can clip onto the Minu) was usable in Europe, but I didn’t try it myself. The other compact stroller we looked at was the YoYo and when we went to Paris I saw Yoyo strollers everywhere so you could check that out too.

Okay! I tried out many many strollers! I recommend the NEW minu v3, not v2. It’s about $400 and is technically a travel stroller but is one of the few travel strollers that works from infancy. It has a full recline, fairly spacious basket and you only need one arm to carry it and one hand to open it. We have the uppababy vista in the city and while. A nice stroller, it’s rough to go up and down the stairs and in and out of car with it. We use the minu on a daily basis now and it’s great for travel. It fits in the overheard on planes!

Ok thank you for this. I bought the Uppababy minu v3 a few weeks ago before the tariff price hike but I was starting to get buyer’s remorse when I saw that Bugaboo released the Butterfly 2 and Joolz was going to release the Aer 2 soon! But now that I’m seeing that the Butterfly 2 likely won’t have the near flat newborn compatible recline and the Aer 2 still has that weird zip recline, I feel much better about my choice.

Hi! So I managed to grab the mini v3 a few weeks ago and I love it! I’m using it on my 5 month old and not a newborn, but when she goes down for a nap, she fully reclines. We also live in the a city 2 bedroom apartment and it was such a pain having to fold up the vista after each use. Now I just gravitate for the minu. There are some small things I wish would be different about it but nothing that’s deter me from recommending it or buying it again. One thing I have to note is that we use the Mesa car seat and the new adapter for for the minu v3 is not out yet so that’s when I would need to switch back tot he vista.

previously had the bugaboo butterfly, but I traded it in for the minu v3 and have no regrets. As for flying, be careful because car seats have to be FAA approved. Not sure if the rotating car seats are approved. As someone else said, investing in a cheap Cosco brand car seat may be the best idea for airline travel.

The absolutely perfect baby gear for all scenarios does not exist. I would advise looking on Facebook marketplace to find items secondhand if you want to purchase multiple strollers. You don’t need to get everything before the baby comes. Most strollers (especially jogging strollers) cannot be used until baby is 3-6 months old. You may want to use the Doona at first while you figure out what is important to you. Your baby will likely outgrow the infant car seat by age one. So you can use the Doina for travel during this short-lived time. You will then travel with a convertible car seat which does not click into any stroller. I recommend taking a look at the Uppababy Minu V3. It has a bassinet mode built in and can have a car seat click in (only certain models). It also folds up small enough to go in the airplane overhead compartment. We got a used Uppababy Cruz V1 on FBMP. I used it a lot in the early baby days with the car seat. I had the bassinet, but ended up babywearing most often. I especially preferred babywearing when we went to events and other crowded spaces. So much easier than making our way with a stroller. I started using the stroller more in the toddler days as my son has global delays and was a late walker. I got a Baby Jogger City Tour during Black Friday sale to use as our travel stroller. Neither stroller is perfect, but both have been great to have for different reasons and uses. I just gave birth to our daughter and got the Uppababy Minu Duo stroller so I can take both kiddos out and about.

Yep, a sturdy travel stroller that can also be an everyday stroller is your best option. I recommend looking at Uppababy Minu v3 and Aria car seat. Have heard great things about Nuna car seats, and mixed opinions about their strollers. But Nuna Trvl could be another one to look into. I know both of these are pricey, but I can absolutely tell the quality difference between my Uppababy strollers and my Baby Jogger stroller.

Have and love the UB Cruz. I got it used on Facebook Marketplace for a steal. The thing is a tank and still going strong even though it was made in 2018. I still use it with my 2 year old because he has global delays. I’m due with baby 2 next month and the UB Minu Duo just arrived today. I wanted a side by side, rather than the tandem double. I highly recommend checking out travel strollers, like the UB Minu v3 or Nuna Trvl. You’ll get a lot more mileage out of those than the Doona. Minu is highly rated as both a travel and everyday stroller.

I have a vista v2 and a minu v3. The wheels on the minu are just not as heavy duty. It’s a travel stroller for a reason. We use for quick errands, travel, etc. If you plan to do a lot of walking, I wouldn’t recommend the minu for every day. We put MILES on our vista every day. i just saw the minu v3 in store the other day and im in love with it and planning to get it when i give birth the recline is pretty deep and you can attach carseat on there as well if you buy adapter additionally its super sturdy compared to other strollers we looked at like the nuna and folds like the other v2 minu but more compact. the seat recliner is one hand pull as well which is great. honestly loved that it was small, compact, easy to use and fold. i'm pretty petite so this seemed great for what i was looking for. i was looking for a strolled compact and easy since i normally would only use it for grocery runs and very light walks around neighborhood but nothing crazy extensive.

I went with the aer+ as it has a flat recline and longer canopy when the fully flat, which is not a feature easily found. (as far as my small research went) The wheels are huge (for travel strollers) and great on most terrains as the front wheels can be locked as well. On top of that, it is sturdy and there is no need to baby it. The only 'downside' is smaller basket size (which i countered by getting a goosket stroller bag) and that accessories are an extra cost. The rain cover, though, is really easy and nice to use. However, I am also considering getting the minu v3 as it seems to tick most of my boxes. (Will still keep the aer+ tho)

My LO is 4.5 months old and I've only just moved her from bassinet to seat and she flops a bit to the side when sitting semi reclined. I feel that you will struggle with a 3 month old with a pram that doesn't fully recline. I just ordered a babybee miles travel stroller (similar to redsbaby skip 3) which can fully recline. Ordered Thursday 5th at 4pm and I have received a shipping notification that it will be delivered by tomorrow the 10th, and I'm in regional Victoria. You could potentially consider this pram too as they do have free returns (you have to have all original packaging) and you will lose your original shipping fee (I think around $30) Otherwise, you could purchase the redsbaby skip 3 and return if it doesn't come in time, I think you would lose the shipping fee as well. Or I would go for the uppababy minu V3 as it can fully recline and is suitable for newborn however it is a lot more expensive than the redsbaby/babybee. I haven't really researched the pixl so can't comment on that one

If you're looking on marketplace anyway, I'd try to get a Minu V2. It doesn't lie flat, but you can use the regular seat starting at 3 months if you really want to (we waited a bit longer), and with the adapters, you'll be able to use it with her car seat or the bassinet you already use with the Cruz.

First, check whether you can legally (or at least safely) use your car seat in Portuguese cars. If you decide that you're comfortable using your car seat there, you might want to consider getting an Uppababy Minu. I don't think they make Mesa adapters for other brands, but you can use that seat with a Minu (with adapters). The V3 came out recently, so you can probably get a V2 for less money if that's important to you.

Cybex and Nuna are better than Mockingbird as a general brand guideline. But it sounds like you want more of a travel or mid size stroller rather than a full sized one - full sized ones (like the Vista) are nice and typically have a lot of bonus features, better steering, etc, but they're pretty big and bulky and not super easy to take places. I personally have a full sized one for at home use walking the dog regularly, and then a smaller travel stroller for the car. If I was going somewhere that would be all day or tons of walking I'd bring the big one but for just a quick trip to the park it's not worth the hassle. So for travel strollers, I'd look at the uppababy minu v3 or the nuna trvl. Bugaboo butterfly is also solid but it's pricier. Those will all fold up easily and fit in the car pretty well. They do have lighter frames and aren't quite as sturdy or smooth of a push as a bigger stroller. Another option would be the uppababy Cruz or nuna mixx, which are in between the two. Not quite full sized so easier to travel with but not as compact as a full on travel stroller. It'll have a better push and be a little sturdier but without all of the bulk of a full sized. Bugaboo's version (again, very nice but pricey) is the dragonfly. I'm not as familiar with cybex's models but my stroller obsessed MIL likes them!

We don't have our girl here yet, so take this with a grain of salt. I agonized over this for weeks! We have a similar mindset/lifestyle, so we went with the Uppababy Minu V3 + Nuna Pipa RX car seat and the Thule Urban Glide 3 + bassinet as our bigger daily walking stroller. After a lot of research I realized most people use their bigger stroller for daily walks and for the occasional longer excursion (zoo, disneyland, etc). I am a very active person and plan on doing a lot of walking and evenutally running with baby, so I decided to limit the amount of strollers I'll need and just get the Thule! We tested it out and already have it, and it's unmatched. It'll work so well in our hilly, no side-walk neighborhood as well. The Uppababy Minu will be our car and travel stroller. We wanted this mainly because we have small cars and aren't planning on getting new cars until she's likely out of the stroller! The Uppababy Minu V3 can fit in the overhead bin, is more durable than most other travel strollers on the market, and has the biggest basket of any. It's also newborn compatible without a car seat. We also love the Uppababy service. This was our thinking - I hope it helps you! And I hope we made the right choice as well :)

I just came back from a week in Singapore with the skip 3. It fit easily in the overhead bins with Qantas on the 787. The A380 that Emirates use is a very large plane with large overhead bins so you can be confident that the skip 3 will fit. Ask me any questions you'd like about the pram. My only real issue with the pram is that you have to modify your posture / stance a bit with the pram to avoid striding into the rear axle. However I found this to be an issue with most of the travel prams I tested in store - so might just be a travel pram thing. Some travel prams cleverly offset the rear "axle" so that there is a bit more room for your feet to swing forward. The minu v3 does this well but it's a bit more expensive for sure. Overall I got used to the skip3 and really enjoyed the pram on our trip. I'm using it again soon for a couple more weeks overseas.

It’s really difficult to get a stroller to fit all your wants. A lightweight travel stroller is not really suitable to go for long walks in. I know two that are newborn ready without car seat or attachments: Uppababy Minu3 and ergo baby metro. For s middle of the road stroller there’s joie ginger. The seat itself can be a bassinet for your little so perfect for newborns and you won’t need extras. My own personal favorite is Bumbleride era. Newborn ready, all terrain capeable. If your budget allows I’d have a travel stroller for travel and in the car for errands and then a proper full size for walks and outings

We had the Joolz Aer Plus but returned it because I was hitting my feet on the axle in between the rear wheels (I am tall), and so we now got the Minu V3. It’s honestly a huge disappointment after seeing all the hype about the V2. Unlike most people who compared in store, we compared them on pavement and that’s where the main flaws showed up. 1) build quality doesn’t compare at all to the Joolz. It’s so plasticky and cheap feeling. 2) the handle bar squeaks after one use. Saw another reddit post with the same issue so it’s not just ours. 3) front wheels have massive play and so they do a huge clicky sound whenever pavement is not smooth. Joolz wheels were dead silent and smooth in comparison. It honestly feels like a cheap toy with plastic wheels. My first reaction was to troubleshoot the wheels and do a warranty claim because I can’t believe it’s supposed to do this. 4) It’s very hard to turn one handed in comparison to the Joolz which is effortless one handed. 5) it’s much heavier, but that is the only point we knew was a cons versus the Joolz before ordering so nothing new here. Now it does have some pros versus the Joolz: 1) seat recline is both easier to operate and larger range, letting you using it from birth 2) buckle is easier to operate 3) it doesn’t have an axle between the rear tires so if you push the stroller close to you and have long legs, you won’t hit it (the main issue that was a dealbreaker for me on the Joolz). 4) basket has better access If you are not 6’6" there is no hesitation to have. In fact my wife wants to get the Joolz again and be the only person operating the stroller because of how bad the V3 is in comparison, and I can’t really argue.

Took our daughter when she was 9m to a resort in Cancun. We had the minu v2 and it was helpful for stroller naps, but I would definitely add a stroller fan as it was super warm and sunny when we were there. We also only used it on paved roads as I’ve heard that sand can gum up the wheels and brakes, so we didn’t take it to the beach. The stroller was good for the airports too so you can go hands free /store your extra bags in it. The one drawback is that it doesn’t fit the overhead bins so we would always gate check. So there are some minor superficial scuffs but we expected that. No issues maneuvering it around the airport. We’ve used it almost 3 years now and over 10 flights and it does great.

I originally got a Minu V2 bc I wanted just one stroller, but that only faces out. Got a used free Cruz V2 which can face out or in. It is the perfect everyday stroller, much more manageable size than Vista and even though it is big for travel we take it bc kid is more comfortable in it than the minu. Also Uppababy is great if you need new parts/customer service/refurb. The free used Cruz needed some parts replaced and it was really easy with Uppababy bc you can just order any part from any model pretty much.

I have the Minu, and I don’t recommend it! There are so many better travel strollers out there. The Minu does not reliably fit in the overhead bin, so I’ve always gate checked it with the travel bag - what I hate is that you have to take the back wheels off to fit it in the Uppababy travel bag for it. The other thing I hate is that you need two hands to unfold the stroller, which is fine if you’re traveling with others, but I honestly can’t imagine using it for travel if I was traveling alone with baby.

What you described is pretty much every stroller out there. They can handle trips around the neighborhood, to the mall, and trips to the park. If you’re doing some actual hiking or jogging, get a jogging stroller. But otherwise, just pick one! I have a Minu v2 and Uppababy infant car seat. Still use the stroller for my 2.5 year old. You’ll be happy with either. I don’t know about Nuna much, but the Vista is big. Like real big. So be prepared for that Also - I don’t really think it’s a great double stroller. It seems like a pain to maneuver and it would be super short lived anyway since toddlers max out the rumbleseat quick. I’d get the Cruz over the Vista and save your money. And if you wanna go further, get the Minu…we only have the Minu and it works great. No need for vista or cruz, plenty of space and you can buy attachments. But all that to say, buy whatever you want! I just think the Vista is overkill when you have the Cruz or Minu right there

This is my time to shine! lol I have been stroller crazed since I was pregnant. I thought about our constraints first (budget, space) just to narrow it down a bunch. Just because of space constraints we eliminated full size strollers. (Like vista/mockingbird) I chose to completely ignore if a stroller could turn into a double or not. It’s a whole other ball game and I’m choosing to cross that bridge if we come to it. I recommend that because depending on age differences between siblings it can really change your priorities with double strollers. I think it’s impossible to have just 1 stroller fit all your needs, especially if you want to use them from infant/newborn stage. The needs are just so different for tiny babies vs toddlers. So instead of compromising on toddler needs(which would last for so many more years), we got a corso primo for newborn days and a gt2 that we didn’t use until she was 5 months. She’s one now and our needs sound similar to yours (80% neighborhood walks, 20% terrain) I just got a minu v2 as well. The first 5 months she really wanted to face me, and was often in the car seat. I loved the chicco corso primo (primo has better wheels then regular corso!), it was super duper easy with the chicco key fit and the seat was also great facing me. We could have found adapters for the gt2 and used that with the car seat too, but I liked that the corso is just a frame that the car seat clicked into. It felt much more manageable in early days when I was trying to get her around on my own. That was worth it and I would do it again! I would typically baby wear her around the neighborhood, so the frame lived in the trunk of the car for a little bit and it was great for shopping and appointments. Definitely not all terrain, but it handled rough sidewalks admirably! And 100 bucks used so I didn’t feel guilty about only using it for 5 months. I just switched to a minu v2 because the gt2 is just a tiny bit too bulky to easily maneuver in and out of our house with an injured back. I’m planning on keeping both, and the minu will be great for shorter walks, travel, car, shopping, museums, etc but it’s just not quite all terrain like the gt2. Like I *can* take it on gravel, we’ll survive, but the gt2 is smooth as butter. The gt2 also has a much higher weight limit so she can use it when she grows out of the minu. I think the gt2 and the minu are an incredible pair of strollers that cover alllll of my needs. If I had to choose one it would be the minu, because having something I can manage with one hand in and out of the house is priceless. But those are just our constraints- the gt2 is a serious workhorse! I just have a tiny porch and narrow steps 😭 I highly *highly* recommend getting the stroller guide from “the stroller workshop”. He has a YouTube channel and patreon. The guide is $5 and it helped me pull the trigger on a minu. I tuned out all other reviews, I trust that man with my life 🤓 TLDR if you need 1 stroller for all purposes from birth on- I would get a gt/2 and car seat adapters. But if you are thrifty and have the time, getting something for early days, then reselling it and getting a rugged daily driver and a lightweight travel stroller would require fewer compromises. Also, I didn’t pay full price for a single one of these strollers. I’m a Facebook marketplace sniper lol.

Fellow Ottawa mom here - get the Uppababy. We used the bassinet daily for walks and as an extra bassinet for home and travel right up until LO was too big for it. Also, the wheels are super solid and make it a lot easier to navigate Ottawa snowbanks come winter. Not sure if you plan on having more than one kid, but we wanted something that would last for the next one (or two!) and grow with our family. It's true you can find lots used on marketplace, which further reinforced my decision to spring for the Uppababy, because even well used and years old, people are still selling them for $800!

My husband read up on those and we didn't get one for a few reasons 1. we are tall and it is impractically short for us 2. There was some conflicting information on the safety of the seats. We ended up going with the Uppa baby - its expensive but it came with the car seat, a bassinet, and the standard stroller seat. If we eventually end up having another it can also convert to a double stroller and the resale value is decent if we end up selling it. To us it was worth it and now using it I really love it. It's one of those "if you have the funds do it, if not its not the end all be all". For us the biggest plus is its great for tall people (I'm 5'8 and my husband is 6'3)

It was expensive, but I like the Uppa baby stroller. Get it secondhand, the build quality is high. I had build quality concerns and had to “feel” each stroller in person. I’m a buy once cry once kind of guy, so when I felt the Uppa Baby stroller it felt significantly sturdier than others I checked. It’s expensive though.. folds up easily, I pull it out of the SUV with one hand and it’s already setup by the time I go to set it down. The wheels are great and make going up my brick front steps easy, I just pull the stroller backwards and the large wheels do the work. But, it’s expensive. My wife bought an attachment for ours once we had our second child, so now we stroll around with two. It feels just as sturdy with two as it did with one.

If you can’t find the one you want secondhand, it’s likely YOU will get good resell value on it some day soon. So consider for example a $400 pram and selling for $200 yourself, if it’s financially an option for you . (Other than that thought I can’t help, we found a Minu on marketplace in excellent condition but still paid $400 for it)

I truly didn't think there was going to be a huge difference among the different brands of strollers. My partner and I decided to go with Uppababy (got it during a Black Friday sale). A few months ago, we were hanging out with friends who have a Graco stroller. At some point, I offered to take over pushing their baby because their toddler needed tending too. After about five seconds of pushing, I was shocked at how clunkier, less agile, and stiff the Graco felt compared to our stroller. I was already happy with what we had, but that solidified sticking with similar brands moving forward.

My advice is pick a car seat you like first then find a stroller it’s compatible with on Facebook marketplace. They grow out of the car seat click size SO fast and by the time my guy did I really didn’t like the travel system I chose because of the wheels (Graco). That was 4 years ago so they may have upgraded the wheels by now. I ended up finding a barely used Uppa baby for $400 on Mercari. Baby jogger and Zoe are also very popular brands that are re sold a lot

Get a Minu! If you didn't have a car. I'd say get a Cruz, but since you drive, just get a Minu. Once you have a second, put kid #1 on the piggyback board.  I have two strollers, but agree that most people do not need two. My kids were born in a big city and we didn't have a car, so the Cruz was our "family vehicle" and every-day stroller. I got a Minu bc we fly transatlantic a lot with the kids and I wanted a travel stroller. If I hadn't needed the capacity of the Cruz for grocery runs (and if the Minu had a piggyback board when I had my first), we could have easily just used the Minu

Minu sucks. Almost topples over when there is strong wind or terrain that isn’t a smooth sidewalk. It just sits in our trunk as an emergency stroller. I regret not getting the Dragonfly earlier. Nuna Rava and Chicco Keyfit. My boys are both 99th percentile so they outgrew rear facing on both models quickly. Bought the Nuna Exec and it is roomier and able to be used until they no longer need a car seat (7 years?). We don’t remove the car seats to put into a stroller so we don’t even need an infant car seat.

The Uppababy is BIG I have the Cruz which is even smaller and it takes up so much space. This might be an unpopular onion, but something cheaper and light like a graco, or Chicco travel system is almost certainly not going to fail you, and has the added benefits of being lighter and cheaper. The Uppababy is a great choice, just know it might take up a lot of space. On the other hand if you want to park the Uppababy in your living space you can use the bassinet as a space to lay baby down.

Kids aren’t really supposed to be in the car seat outside of the car, especially when they’re littler due to the risk of positional asphyxiation. I’d get a nice travel stroller that will last you a lot longer that can fold up nicely. We have the bugaboo butterfly and adore it. The Yoyo and Minu are good and I believe both can have bassinet attachments also to use if you’re going on trips before kiddo can sit upright.

Strollers are like cars and not everything will fit everyone's lifestyle needs or budgets. The stroller I currently have would not work for someone who lives in the city in a small apartment, someone who takes public transit a lot or has a small car. I found it easier to make a list of things i didn't need/want in a stroller as someone who lives in the suburbs to narrow it down. An anecdotal example from late 2019: We bought our infant seat at babies r us for an insane discount (paid $60 for a +$200 bucket seat) so I didn't need a travel system. I live in the suburbs and sometimes the sidewalks aren't shoveled very well in the winter so a light stroller with little wheels wasn't going to work for me. I wanted my kids to be close in age so I only looked at strollers that could turn into doubles; uppababy, bugaboo, peg perego, and city select. I didn't like the configuration from single to double for the uppababy or city select for their bassinet attachments and the peg perego was impossible to find so we got the bugaboo. I was also able to talk to a customer who would come into the store that I worked at who bought the bugaboo for her twins and she raved about it but the only thing she didn't like was how wide it was because it made mall shopping difficult. I don't go to malls and the stroller fits through a standard doorway so the width was never really an issue for me but I can't walk side by side on the sidewalk with another mom pushing a stroller beside me 😅. If I was having my first baby in 2025 with the information that I have now, I would pick cybex gazelle or bugaboo kangaroo.

The Uppababy pushes very smoothly and the frame is titanium. It feels solid and I will be using it dual purposes with a bassinet. Also, if you buy it through them or an authorized retailer, it’s covered with a 3 year warranty (doesn’t apply to marketplace purchases). I hear customer support is also excellent.

We tried them out in person, strongly recommend if you have a store close to you. We went with the Nuna because it was the only one tall enough for my 6'4" husband. The uppababy at its tallest height worked for me at 5'10". Neither needs a bassinet. Nuna lays completely flat as it is. And the uppababy has a relatively affordable insert that will make it flat for a newborn, I think it's $50-$75.

We got the Vista and we got a lot of use out of it while living in Mile End. It's a great stroller for all weather and road conditions, and the storage is great. The notable downside was that it's not so great for maneuvering small stores or stores with thin aisles- so keep that in mind. We do have a smaller travel stroller but loved the Uppababy for the newborn days. Don't know if the Cruz is less wide than the Vista.

We have 2 strollers. The Vista was meant to be our main and only one but it was too heavy for me to lug up and down the stairs every day, so we went and bought a Minu (travel stroller). The big stroller sits in our car, and did accompany us on trips when my baby was younger. Now that she’s a toddler we’re going to be travelling with the smaller stroller since she barely sits in it anymore. And the smaller stroller is more of our every day stroller now at home for walks around the neighborhood. Also, even though strollers say they fit in the overhead bins, we’ve never been allowed to put them in there on flights. Have always had to gate check them with WestJet.

We have a Minu and like it. Folds easily, can carry it over your shoulder with the strap. No personal experience with other travel strollers, however we did go travelling with our friends who have the Joolz Aer and personally I liked our Minu better. They couldn’t have any sort of bag on the handlebars without it toppling over (even with their kid in it). The recline is a zipper at the back so it was either up or down, no in between like the Minu can do. And the seat of theirs was pretty small and it really didn’t look comfortable 🤷🏻‍♀️their kid’s legs were always just hanging off, whereas the Minu had a footrest portion that can be put up or down. If you do go with a Minu though, I’d definitely look into getting a travel bag from Uppababy so that if it gets damaged, they cover a new stroller. It must be the Uppababy Minu bag though and needs to be registered prior to travel. It is a bit pricey though.

Not Maxi Cosi, but I can share some of my thoughts on other strollers that may help. I went to WestCoast Kids to try out some strollers recently, I’m due in a few weeks so my experience is from using friends and families over the past couple of years. I ended up leaving with the bugaboo fox 5 (not the renew) with the bassinet / stroller seat and got a Nuna car seat. I think all together it came out to be 2,000 ish. I found it on sale luckily. I was eyeing a Cybex stroller and a Nuna stroller. The folding of the Cybex was unbearable for me, required two hands and just folding it at the store over stimulated me. Nuna was my second option if bugaboo didn’t work out and they have travel sets. UppaBaby felt too hefty for me, but I used it a while back and not the newer ones. UppaBaby does have a really lightweight car seat that you can attach to the stroller, I believe it’s the Aria. I wanted that one but it’s not compatible with my stroller.

Hell no to the Graco.  Did it with my first and hated it (live in Mtl so used it daily) Tried a few others. My recommendations are Baby Jogger CT Mini or... Uppababy. Yes Uppababy is expensive but you can resell it. I recently bought the Ridge stroller on sale for maybe $500 approx. Then bought everything else (car seat + adjusters/adapters, bassinet, bassinet stand, ganoosh, rain cover etc) from a Mom in a local parenting FB Group and paid half the cost (in good condition too). Even now those second hand items are still in good condition and could probably be resold again. A Mom friend bought Uppababy used from FB Marketplace, everything for about $700. Used it for 4 years straight (daily) and now passing it onto her friend. Uppababy seems to have a long shelf life!

We didn't get the travel bag, but that doesn't mean we have to just hand it to them unprotected. When we flew with our Uppababy I took a bit of rope and tied the stroller shut after I folded it up. The rope helps hold it together, gives the luggage guys something to grab on to that won't damage anything, and makes it so there isn't so much stress on the latch or hinges. It's a lot cheaper than the travel bag too.

I worked at a baby store in college so I used to sell strollers to all types of people. I’m also a FTM and recently purchased one for myself. I will say that it’s an extremely personal choice - what works for you and yours may not work for me. For example, I live in a city with rough brick sidewalks - so good wheels and suspension were important to us. We also haven’t met our baby yet and don’t know what their temperament will be, so shelling out $800+ for a stroller seems risky. I have plenty of friends/family who have expensive strollers collecting dust in their cars/basements. We looked at the UppaBaby, Nuna, and a lot of the other popular systems on the market and decided they wouldn’t work for us. We loathed the Doona (my husband is 6’5) and weren’t overly impressed with the Graco / Chiccos we saw at Target. We found a boxed and brand new Baby Jogger City Mini at a discount store and bought it for a great price. My husband is obsessed with it already. It’s a brand I used to sling at the store and it’s very functional / in line with what we were looking for. I suggest testing out as many as possible, if you can. There aren’t many baby stores left, but Nordstrom has some on display. Rei might as well. Target as a few. Unsure about Walmart. And I think talking to parents who are out and about when you see them pushing strollers can be helpful. But default on your own judgement and prioritize your needs. Also, if your baby is going to be born in colder months, or if you’re not ready to commit to a brand/type, you may want to hold off or just get a snap n go system.

When we go out to eat it's so easy to fold it up and hide it away. And traveling with it is super easy. It's the only stroller we've had. We have another baby on the way and will probably just keep this one.

A compact travel stroller is fine for this as long as you don't need it for jogging or rough terrain. Walks on sidewalks? Fine. Walks on land trails? Not gonna work. I have the Joolz Aer+, which also has a bassinet attachment, and fits in airplane overhead bins. Lots of people like the Yoyo but it's a two step fold whereas Joolz is a one step/one hand fold. The Minu is fine but too large for airplane overhead compartments so you will always have to gate check. Every now and then, airports do weird shit with gate checking so if you need to stroller to get through the airport, you may want the option of bringing it on board. We do if we have a connecting flight. Be aware that the tradeoff of going with a compact is less basket space.

The Uppababy Vista is great (smooth ride, great for in/out with the car seat early on, lots of storage space below, the snack tray) except it is HUGE, like takes up the entire trunk of your crossover SUV huge, and their parent organizer is terrible (velcro doesn't stay put and eventually damages the stitching on the leather grips). I keep it setup in the garage exclusively for walks around the neighborhood now. You can also almost use it as a jogger. I switched to the Uppababy Minu travel stroller in the car (bought for traveling along with the travel bag). The steering is not great but it's nice and compact and the sun shade is very large. I'll have to go back to the Vista when baby #2 arrives which will most likely mean also upgrading my car so we can all fit!! Plan all along was to give the Minu to my husband after baby #2 arrives so he can have his own stroller for the infant so that's why the double Ubbababy investment. Go to Nordstrom and look at all of them in person. Tell them what your priorities are (compact, full size, travel, multiples, etc.) and they will show you your best options and answer all of your questions. Also measure your trunk! 😅

I would strongly suggest not using your car seat on the airplane at that age. Just make sure they have their own seat and bring a blow up thing that goes between the edge of the seat/the back of the seat I front of you. It basically creates a bed for the kiddo. I also suggest the Minu. It’s gotten us through Europe. The Uppa Baby car seat also fits into it with adapter things you can buy separately.

We use Uppababy Minu while we travel (took it to Florida, Italy, Dominican Republic, and more) and I could not imagine taking anything bigger than that. It travels so well and folds like a dream. Also, it’s really light so using the shoulder strap while lugging around kid and baggage is very easy (and comfortable) because it’s so light. We’ve been using it since birth (she’s 3 now) and we STILL use it. We’ve even had to gatecheck it a few times and it has absolutely held up (with no stroller cover to add to that lol). Of course there are scuffs but the fact that it still works perfectly fine after all these years, I can’t imagine using anything else. ETA we got ours second hand from Facebook marketplace. Big stroller nerd and travelling mom who’s been on over 30 flights with my now 3 year old. A cabin sized stroller will never be super sturdy. In order to make them fold that small, they need a few extra hinges. With that being said, there are a lot of very decent travel strollers out there. Ideally go to a store and test a few. What is important to you? For me, being able to roll the stroller straight out of the plane is handy, I also need it to lean back for naps on the go and fold it one handed. If you’re ok with checking the stroller at the gate, you can also look at a compact stroller. I have one of those too, my uppababy minu, which is by far the sturdiest of the compacts out there. There are a lot of good reviews on YouTube too, to give you an idea of what’s out there.

This is exactly what my wife and I did, and it has worked out well. If we are headed to the mall or doing general errands we take our UB Minu. If we know we will be going over uneven terrain we have an UB Ridge for that. We are very happy with both strollers.

I started my stroller journey by buying a highly recommended stroller and hating it... and ended up with multiple ones, which turned into testing over 100 models and reviewing them :) That said: NOT LOVING: Uppababy Vista - rides smooth, but too big and bulky Mockingbird - awful, scary with recalls, doesn't drive smoothly as all Cybex Orfeo - too flimsy Cybex Coya - where do I even begin with this bad fold GB Pockit - not worth your fingers Ergobaby Metro - too heavy for a travel stroller and unfold feels meh SummerInfant 3d quickclose - too good to be true, super flimsy Nuna TRVL - too short seat, too big to take into the cabin and too expensive for what it is Uppababy Minu - too big for a travel stroller model, weird bumper bar and flimsy canopy LOVING: Cybex Priam - amazing, especially the e-version. If I were to get a one full-size stroller this would be my top choice Stokke Yoyo3 - most well-known and guaranteed on board Joolz Aer - smooth ride, great accessories Joolz Hub2 - solid mid-size option Cybex Gazelle - good for 2 under 2 Bombi - good mid-size option Bugaboo Butterfly 2 - didn't like the first version, but these upgrades made it better Mamazing - good budget option Zoe Traveler - amazing canopy and solid stroller Inglesina Quid - cute solid compact stroller

It depends on what you think your main uses will be. Do you need to carry it up stairs? Are you tight on storage space? Do you value car seat compatibility, jogging, all-terrain capabilities, travel? Will you use the stroller for shopping, on public transport? We have the Bumbleride Indie and love it. 95% of our stroller use in the first 8 months has been walking around the neighborhood. We also take it on trails. It's a beast of a stroller--pretty big and heavy, but handles so well on bumpy trails. Bumbleride also uses safe materials, and their customer service has been excellent.  It would be awful for someone who needs a small stroller, though. It's not great for shopping because it's big and the basket is on the smaller side. But I've taken it shopping literally once--I don't care for shopping with my baby in tow.  Now that baby is 8 months we also bought a travel stroller (Uppababy Minu). We plan to use that for air travel. Our nanny also uses it for day trips to the zoo etc. because it's easier for her to get it in/out of the car. I still use the Bumbleride for the zoo, museum etc. because I find it comfier and smoother, it has a larger sunshade, and it lays flatter for naps.

I’ve taken my uppababy minu up the trail to vernal falls with my kid that was much younger and the stroller is still in great shape. I didn’t love how it felt on the way back down but it was secure. We were camping in upper pines so we didn’t really have much of a need for it beyond that but it seems like it’d be useful if your kid hates the carrier because that means you’ll be manually carrying your tall kid everywhere and that sounds uncomfortable.

From the ones you’ve listed, probably the minu is the best. But unfortunately, the Minu won’t be great in snow. In Canada, most people end up with two strollers (especially if they travel) - you need one for the snow (I have an uppa baby Cruz, bht anything with bigger wheels works), and I like another for all months where roads are clear and for travel - I love the yo-yo. Minu is kind of in between both - so it’s heavy as a travel stroller and not great in the snow, but is a fair compromise Also you can get adaptors for the minu, Cruz and yo-yo for most car seats to turn them into a travel system (- mom of 2, soon to be 3!)

We have 3 strollers and a wagon! We have two kids now but acquired all of these when we only had our first. Standard stroller (with bassinet for nb phase): UB Cruz v2 Travel stroller: UB minu Jogging stroller: BOB all terrain pro Wagon: Veer Love all of them except the minu, but I think ours is the original version. The newer ones look much nicer. We actually use all of these often enough that we won’t be getting rid of any anytime soon. I would suggest starting with a standard full size stroller if you want one you can clip your infant car seat into and/or you want a bassinet attachment option. You can always add the other strollers later if you feel them necessary. I will say that I rarely jog but use the bob often on trails! It’s great, but you wouldn’t jog with them until they have strong head/neck control at 8ish months, so you can probably hold off on that purchase.

I’m convinced the yo-yos are scams. I had one and switched to an uppababy minu. The wheels weren’t great on city terrain and the fact you need 2 hands to fold didn’t seem like a big deal but now having the one handed fold while my other arm has my baby, it’s a serious game changer!

I’m also in OC. I have an entire stroller collection at this point. Honestly, I like the Uppababy Minu for running errands and whatnot. It opens and closes with one hand and you can actually fit other things in the back of the SUV. I got the newborn pack bassinet attachment that worked fine. However, baby is much more comfortable in my Nuna Mixx Next. Before I went back to work, I would take my baby for long walks everyday in that. I used the bassinet with both my kids through six months and they got the best naps that way. That said, the Nuna takes up the entire cargo space in my SUVs. I cannot bring it and go for a Target run or a weekend road trip to Palm Springs or SD. If I could only get one stroller, I’d go with the travel one so you actually can travel. Edited to add: I’ve used both strollers at Disneyland, and they were both fine. The added bonus though is that the Minu can actually fold up with the newborn pack bassinet attachment, meaning you can ride the tram. The Nuna bassinet has to be fully removed from the stroller to fold the stroller and the bassinet itself cannot fold up easily for riding the tram so we end up having to do the walk to and from the parking garage. I prefer walking so this isn’t an issue for me.

Hey there, my vote is for the Minu, if youre doing a lot of walking I also think you should get the bassinet from birth kit. You can carry baby up and down the stairs in the bassinet with the stroller on your shoulder using the arm strap. More time in a bassinet instead of a car seat the better! lets then move and kick and sleep… my LO falls asleep on a walk and I can carry him in and plop him down to continue sleeping… it also gives him ou a travel nap space for when you’re out at a park or someone’s house. I currently have a used nina mixx with the bassinet(, bought the minu because frankly in the urban, walking everywhere, taking public transit… the full eized strollers are too big

It is really going to depend on your lifestyle and where you use the stroller most. I decided to buy the Uppababy Minu because we could attach both the car seat and bassinet to it, but it wasn’t as expensive as the Vista in case we had a baby that didn’t like the stroller or we ended up having one child only. We ended up with a baby that looooves the stroller and I’m still glad we purchased this one because it works great as both travel and everyday stroller. It’s a very smooth ride and has enough room for everything we need, and if we do have another baby we can upgrade to the Vista body to accommodate two. That said, we live in a rural environment where we most often have to drive somewhere to use the stroller, so it isn’t a big deal that the undercarriage is small because we can put whatever else we need in the car. If you live in an urban environment you might want a larger stroller that will fit everything you need for a whole outing in it, so you can be hands-free.

So we have a Vista, and have the stroller bag. The Vista has done pushing 20 flights, within Canada and the US. We also have a Minu. I love the Vista for traveling. I have a 3 yo and a 3 mo, and the 3yo started traveling at 8 months or so. We've always gotten a seat for baby on the plane, and the travel carseat fits in the basket of the Vista (cosco scenara next). I liked having the full basket for travel. Uppababy customer service is excellent. Air Canada ripped the handle off my stroller bag. AC reimbursed me, but Uppababy had a new one on my doorstep 2 days later.

I’m not sure about how upright the seats are but I tried both of these as well as the Joolz Aer plus and Yo-yo 3 and ended up getting the Joolz Aer Plus. The sales person told me they have had tons of issues with the butterfly’s wheels falling off and she can’t recommend it. The Minu was much heavier than the Joolz and Yo-yo. I didn’t like where the carry strap was located on the Minu. My husband couldn’t fold the yo-yo. Joolz was easy all around. You can also add car seat adapters and they have a bassinet if you want to use it for a small baby.

I was in a very similar situation to you! I also live in Quebec (MTL), we're also both runners, and we also travelled internationally with our baby. I think it depends on your lifestyle a lot. We have a car but walk everywhere and live close to a metro. We go out to the park nearly every day, walk to daycare, and I took daily walks when my son was a newborn. I'd say focus on and buy the everyday stroller first if you plan on doing regular walks. If you mostly drive everywhere and only need an everyday stroller for malls, then using the travel stroller with some kind of newborn compatible option might be sufficient. But if you're like me then you 100% need to invest in a good everyday stroller, which may or may not be a jogging stroller (I've got the Uppababy Cruz). As others have said, only buy the travel stroller right before your trip. By then, you'll know baby's age (if you need to accommodate for newborn recline/bassinet or if they're 6+ months) and you'll know what you like/don't like in a stroller. We got an Uppababy Minu for super cheap on marketplace for that, and if I had to go back I would possibly get an even more compact travel stroller, just because I now use it as my trunk stroller when we're driving places and it still takes a decent amount of space in the trunk. As for jogging stroller, I was lucky to be given one by a friend. At first I wanted to try jogging with my son before we committed to buying a good quality jogging stroller and it turns out that 1) my son doesn't enjoy the jogging stroller as much as his everyday stroller 2) both my husband and I like the freedom of running without a stroller and getting some alone time away from baby 3) running with a stroller is so much more difficult. Now I use my jogging stroller in the winter months as long as there's snow on the ground. My Cruz definitely doesn't cut it when the sidewalks haven't been ploughed and we still go for daily walks in the winter. So depending on the snow situation where you live, you may need a jogging stroller with big air filled tires regardless of whether you actually run with it or not. So yes, you may need 3 strollers (I do), but you should start with 1 and buy the rest as you go.

Hi! Lasalle mom here, so not exactly in the downtown core but close enough (walking distance to angrignon park and metro). Probably not what you want to hear but I ended up with 3 strollers, which I keep in my garage or car. The Uppababy Cruz was my first purchase and I love it for 70% of the year. My son clearly prefers it over other strollers, it's smooth to push and doesn't feel too bulky. The only issues I have with it are: 1. It's terrible in heavy slush/snow. The slush gets stuck in the casing of the front wheel and basically makes it so the wheels can't turn and you end up with a stroller that has 2 skis as front wheels. This may not happen to you in the downtown core but in LaSalle it can take a few days for some sidewalks to be cleared and also angrignon park can have a lot of accumulated slush. 2. It's a bit bulky for the metro. Definitely doable - we've used it to go to the biodôme for example or longer days out, but if you end up at a metro where the elevators/escalators don't work, or at McGill where you want to go the Eaton center and there's literally no way of doing it without taking 4 steps then you'll want something more compact/lightweight for those cases. Same thing for tiny store entrances that you need to take steps to get into - you'll need something more compact and lightweight if you go to those a lot, but compact and lightweight are terrible in the snow/slush. So basically I ended up with the Cruz which I use 70% of the year (I walk A LOT) and love. Then in my 2nd winter (Feb baby) I got a big jogging stroller (Mountain Buggy all terrain I think) for free from a friend for the winter months because it has the 3 wheels with inflatable tires and is just amazing in the snow and slush. It's very heavy and bulky, which is why I don't use it the rest of the year. And then I got an Uppababy Minu on FB marketplace for cheap, which I use for travel, going on the metro and quick errands at the mall. I keep this one in the trunk of my car because it takes less space and I use it when I need something compact/lightweight that folds easily and can be carried with a strap. I think you need to consider how much walking you'll be doing during the winter months and whether you'll be baby wearing a lot or not. I thought I would baby wear a lot but turns out that babies are heavy and I'm pretty small framed and I was just way more comfortable with a stroller. Edit: Reading other replies, I also remembered another big plus for the Cruz is that I can put my entire groceries in the basket under there (roughly 2 bags). I like to walk to the grocery store over taking the car so it's nice to have when I'm grocery shopping with baby.

I wouldnt bring either. I would bring a cosco scenera next for carseat because its cheap and lightweight and a travel stroller that folds small (i reccomend city tour 2 because it’s inexpensive and we love it, but babyzen yoyo, uppababy minu or bugaboo butterfly are all also highly reccomended). Buy travel stroller secondhand to save money. You cannot use your doona as a stroller in europe. Like absolutely not. At that point its an incredibly heavy carseat, i wouldnt want to lug that accross the globe. Your main stroller is also so bulky and heavy.

I have an uppababy minu and love it. I am 5' so I feel you on lugging anything heavy. One thing I love about the minu is the one hand fold. Many times I've taken my LO on the subway and don't want to wait for the elevator I can just fold and hold him. It can be useful since you mentioned the stairs at your place. I wouldn't worry about the add one being expensive as you can either buy off FB marketplace or an off brand. Others have mentioned this already but the minu is NOT good for winter. You might be ok if the sidewalks are completely shoveled but it's hard.

UB customer care and warranty is incredible. I love our vista. I think the Minu would be too small for Disney personally (i liked using Bob Duallie @ DL) Same age gap (18 mos), now 4, 2.5, 9 mos For air travel I do a carrier, 2 backpack harnesses, and a single GB pockit. More versatile than a double stroller and longevity matters - while traveling 5 months ago any of the 3 kids could go in stroller or carrier and 2/3 could walk with handholding or in harness backpack

Very late to this but we took our daughter abroad a bunch in the first year-ish: to Bermuda at 4 months, the UK at 8 months, Austria at 10 months, and Denmark at 13. My big learnings: 1. Business class + bassinet seat all the way. It can be A LOT of homework to figure out what airlines offer w/r/t bassinets, and the call center agents are often useless (looking at you, Austrian), but it works so much better than trying to sleep them in the car seat, plus you actually arrive reasonably refreshed. When it comes to bassinet options and availability, British Airways is my favorite - straightforward, simple, and they have both a bassinet for sleeping and a baby seat for waking time 2. The CoZiGo is an absolute must-have. It’s designed to fit over airline bassinets, but tbh it fits over just about anything (including travel strollers), and it creates a blacked-out space plus has a pocket for the white noise machine. With airline bassinet + CoZiGo our daughter fully slept thru her first 2 TATL flights 3. You’ll want a travel stroller. The UPPAbaby Minu is excellent and folds up in seconds. You’ll also want a stroller bag to keep it in good shape 4. A suite at a 4-star >>> a standard room at a 5-star if you’re ever making that choice. You’ll want space to read, get ready for bed, etc with the lights on and without worrying about how much noise you’re making Hope this is helpful, lots of trial and error in the above. Best of luck with the rest of the pregnancy!

Ok..I'm probably not helpful here BUT I wanted to give my 2 cents on having 3 strollers which I love/use them all. I have a BOB running stroller just for runs. It is a dream to push and I don't need to worry about baby being bounced around. I have a Babyjogger City Select double stroller and it currently has a toddler seat and a baby carseat. It is perfect for going on walks as my toddler needs to take breaks sometimes. This is the stroller that lives in the car. I have the Uppababy Minu for travel that we've taken on at least a dozen trips (before the arrival of the second child). It's small/light enough for travel but large enough to have sturdy wheels for non-pavement roads and large enough basket for the essentials. I haven't taken it traveling since I've had kiddo #2 (we traveled with the double stroller instead..not ideal but baby still needed the infant seat). All strollers were purchased for kid #1 and I have used them through kid #2. I also want to add that while I heavily recommend the BOB and Uppbaby Minu, I am not a fan of the Babyjogger (but am a fan of having a double stroller).

We had the yoyo as our travel pram but found it too small and shoddy so got the Uppababy Minu (we have the Vista as our main) and it’s been great. Good sized canopy and basket. We normally gate check but some airlines let you bring it on board. You can buy the travel bag (backpack) that makes it easy to transport and insures it if the airline damages it.) The new version lays flat I believe. You may be able to find second hand.

We have both the Cruz and the Minu. The Cruz was our main stroller for a long time, and then we got the Minu for travel. It’s now our everyday stroller while the Cruz is our shopping stroller. I’m also petite and don’t have any problems with hills with either one. What I like about the Minu: one hand fold and unfold, isn’t too big for Muni, and it handles bumpy sidewalks just fine. A jogging stroller will give baby a smoother ride, but those are heavy. (We had had one of those too before giving it away.) So one recommendation for the Minu at least!

By rotating car seat do you mean as in the base in the car? If so we did the maxi-cosi pearl pro with 360 and sliding base, and uppababy makes the adapter for their strollers to be compatible with maxi cosi. We have the Cruz and then will get the minu later. At least here in Europe the maxi cosi car seat is flight and travel approved and works work both iso fix and a normal seatbelt.

We chose Uppababy because we got a hand me down bassinet and car seat, for its resale value, and service from the Uppababy hub located in Leaside. If you go to the hub, you can customize your stroller colours for an extra $50, and they can delay the start of your warranty. We live close to downtown Toronto and debated between Uppababy Minu and Cruz for the longest time. We ultimately chose the Cruz because we do a lot of walks on park terrain and preferred the suspension. It is heavier and larger compared to the Minu, and we took into account stairs that we would have to carry the stroller up to. I would suggest going into the store to check out strollers to see what would fit your lifestyle, environment, and budget.

We got an uppababy minu stroller with adapters and it’s just annoying, and a vista for home which is so massive and only nice when baby was bassinet aged and for walking to the farmers market and loading up the basket. We ended up using the free Nuna stroller I got in a Facebook group instead cause the car seat just clipped in directly even though it took up our whole trunk. If price was of concern, we have a baby jogger that is our second most used stroller cause the graco car seat we got for backup fits in nice, it’s indestructible, and can be used for exercise. Whatever you do I recommend a system that is easily compatible your car seat without adapters.

Up until my son was 10 months or so, I brought the Cruz and gate-checked it. I would use a carrier at the airport but still needed a stroller at the destination. The Cruz's storage is great and baby was super comfortable in it. I had no issues with AC or Porter at YTZ and YUL. They were careful, even at times unfolding it and getting it ready for me to use once I disembarked. (Maybe because I travelled alone those times?) Now that he's over 1 year old, drinking milk, eating solids really well, and walking around, I travel with the Minu. It's lighter, more compact, and more convenient to use during the trip, and the basket is spacious enough for us. I still gate-check it.

I have the Uppa Baby and Nuna TRVL. Both are great for different reasons. Just remember - if a stroller is on the market, it has to do through in depth testing to get there. It wouldn’t be for sale if it wasn’t safe. Same with car seats, there really is no bad option. They all work. It’s what works best for you!

We got a chico keyfit 30 travel system with the activ3 jogging stroller for our first kid and then got an Upupbaby when our second came. They're definitely expensive and the Upupbaby is probably overpriced but they're both amazing and well worth the investment. If you can afford the premium it's a solid buy.m, especially if you can find them used. Just make sure any car seat combos aren't expired. You'll obviously be fine with a Graco, but there's definitely a big jump in quality that's worth it for how often you'll be pushing these things around.

We started with an Uppababy Mesa car seat combo stroller for baby #1. It’s easy to use and you can plop the car seat right in there. The frame is lightweight and easy to collapse. I think that one only has single baby capability, but they make one that you can upgrade to a double if needed, which might be the way to go if you are planning on having more. Our second child 3 years old has a neurological disability and handles like a baby, so we had to take that into consideration when baby #3 arrived for a double stroller due to being a larger sized baby (we want to avoid using a wheelchair as long as he’s small enough). We got the Veer switch and roll for that due to higher weight capacity and sturdiness. It has a converter attachment for our uppababy seat. The wheels are a bit bigger so it’s better for curbs and terrain. The width is a little wider than most strollers but can fit through doorways, it just takes some precision. It’s heavier compared to our single stroller, but not too bad. Overall we like it (we didn’t use other double strollers to compare though).
