Like someone else said, if you want something that lasts until toddler age, it will be a convertible seat not an infant seat. I’m not a fan of infant seats so we’re going straight to a convertible and getting a stroller with a bassinet mode. Nuna is great, just pricy. I am a big fan but do agree with the other commenter that I need two hands to collapse. The mockingbird is also pretty nice - plenty configurations and compatible with a lot of car seats. I can fold it with one hand and i think it pushes well. If you’re planning on having more kids it’s nice with the ability to add a second seat or have one bassinet and one toddler seat at once.

We got a Mockingbird stroller second hand for $150 on FB marketplace which was an amazing deal. Has second seat capability, functionality, and even a ride on board attachment in case 3 are in your future. Can get a bassinet attachment too.

When you say third floor, I'm assuming walk-up? Then as others have said, City Baby Jogger. Again, I agree. FB Marketplace used. They're all over there. I bought one from 2011 for $25, still works perfectly. You can take the whole seat off an wash it in the machine. That being said, we had a full stroller and my baby disliked the City Baby Jogger until over a year old in comparison. The basket is also really small, and you can't hang anything on the handles because of the design of it, it'll tip over. If it's not a walk-up and you walk a lot, I love our Mockingbird. Would be terrible to load into a cab or lug upstairs, though, but it's fantastic if you have an elevator and can do walks. I also think that strollers are one of the most stressful things, and I've never met anyone who didn't like the one they got. So, really, I'd say pick they style you want the most, identify 1-2 must have features, and just go for it.

It's harder to have a newborn safely in a lot of travel strollers. They also hold significantly less (almost nothing comparatively) in the under basket. That being said, we flew once with our Mockingbird and moved to a jogging stroller, as it's a lot to travel with a bigger stroller. As food for thought, though, in the future, you'll have to have a dolly or something to bring your big car seat if you go to travel. To us that was worth it. Also, there's a lot of jogger or travel strollers used on FB marketplace if you're in the US. It's nice to not have to get your new stroller beat up and just have a used one.

We took our Mockingbird (love our Mockingbird). Put it in a loose travel bag off Amazon it was fine. That being said, t's NOT doable alone while carrying baby. You're supposed to take the wheels off and other things. You'd have to collapse the bassinet. It's big and clunky and hard to do let alone on the jet bridge. I'd personally get a jogger stroller and a newborn insert. These would be checked at the jet bridge, one hand collapse. Make sure the newborn insert isn't too big, you'll likely have to carry it on with you. (As a note, most joggers can lay basically flat, the insert is for your peace of mind as you maneuver with a carry on through the airport.) You're likely also going to need: \- An under seat/under jogger stroller sized backpack \- Baby wearing option of your choice \- A rolling suitcase This is because you're going to have to have a lot of stuff, but also be able to get through the airport and on the plan with it. Those things will let you: \- Through the airport, push stroller and roll suitcase. \- To get on the plane, put baby in the baby carrier, put the backup in the stroller seat. Push the stroller down the jet bridge and roll the suitcase with the other hand. When you get to end, put the backpack on and collapse the stroller. This limits the weight you're carrying for as long as possible. ALSO, you're going to want to put the backpack on last, so you can take it off first once on the plane. \- Board early. While flight attendants aren't required to help you put your luggage up, I'd be SHOCKED if they didn't in this specific scenario (the help all the time just to be nice). Other tips: \- Change baby right before you board. (I literally just did it outside the gate. I do not care.) \- Have a little pack ready with the following: your changing mat, diapers, wipes, creams, and AN EXTRA OUTFIT. Put it in your under seat bag and make it easy to grab. \- Nurse or bottle feed right after you literally take off if possible. \- Do not be afraid to ask someone to hold baby if it comes to that. (You do not have to do this, but if there is a scenario where you need it, just ask.) \- People have only ever been SO nice to us when traveling with a baby.

There’s definitely an overwhelming amount of options… You can definitely do a combo one that’s the car seat and stroller like the Doona. I think this is best for people who live in big cities or travel a lot. I personally don’t think they’re worth it.. you gotta buy a new car seat and stroller when they get bigger. You could get a bigger, travel system which is a good deal. Something like an UPPABaby vista or a mockingbird for a more budget friendly option with a car seat adapter is very nice. These also usually have options for a bassinet or an infant insert so you don’t always have to use the car seat! They’re very nice strollers with lots of storage, high weight limits, lots of accessories and can really last you a long time. The downside is they are pricey and often very heavy/take up a lot of trunk space! Another option is a travel stroller. Many people use these for every day!! There’s many options these days.. some top ones are the Zoe line, Buggaboo Butterfly, UPPAbaby Minu.. there’s many more. These sometimes can be used with a car seat, are often under 20 pounds, fold compactly, are great for toddlers, great for travel, more budget friendly! Downsides are often not best for infants unless it’s one with a car seat adapter, have less storage and not as many bells and whistles. So.. I chose 2. I went with the Mockingbird which is so nice and we love it. It’s great for babies with all the attachments. Worked with our Chico Key fit car seat and is a nice push! Adjustable handle bar was nice since my husband is a lot taller than me. But it’s really heavy for my small frame and took up my whole SUV trunk. So I also got the Zoe Tour. It’s also amazing!! It’s 13 pounds, folds flat, takes up a fraction of my trunk, great for travel and my toddler loves the snack tray and being able to sit fully upright. I keep that one in the trunk and the Mockingbird in the garage for walks. Lastly, check out The Stroller Mom on Instagram or YouTube! She does full videos comparing strollers and doing in-depth reviews of the most popular brands! That’s how I picked my two!! Good luck!

We have the mockingbird w/bassinet too and ended up putting it in storage for the chicco corso when it went on sale. Mockingbird is nice but super heavy! We’ll pull it back out when we have 2 but it felt really clunky for just one baby. The corso doesn’t have a bassinet but does come with an infant insert for the seat and reclines near-flat so it has a bassinet-ish feel.

We have had a Mockingbird for almost 4 years and love it. We have used it for 1 infant in the bassinet all the way up to 1 kid in a seat, baby in the bassinet or infant carrier and big kid on the rollerboard. It becomes a tank when you have all 3 kids on it but it gets the job done. Ours is from pre-recall and we have not been easy on it. The frame has held up. It is large when putting it into the trunk but I don't think you can find many double strollers that aren't. I just really liked that you could customize how you used the stroller- I can easily switch from a newborn configuration to getting all kids on it. I'd buy it again.

I'm surprised how a few people are saying it can be difficult to maneuver. Definitely with 3 kids on it it becomes tough but 2? Totally fine. It's not meant for tough terrains but can easily handle most things we've put it through. We sailed through a week at Disney with it as a double and loved that it wasn't a side by side setup. So much easier to get through crowds like this.

This will sound silly, but for me, color was the most important thing. Unless there’s no other option, I only buy pink things (pink furniture, clothes, toiletries, etc.). I picked out car seats and strollers that came in pink, and then narrowed it down from there based on features. Ended up with the Uppababy Mesa V2 car seat and the Mockingbird stroller!

I think i just prefer our Mockingbird to it. The Graco one feels cheap but it is great for traveling. Do wish it was slightly more compact but compared to the mockingbird it’s tiny. Also wish there was an option for kid/baby to full sit up straight. It does its job but long term wouldn’t be our primary.

I’d highly recommend the mockingbird. We have it and absolutely love how versatile it is. It grows with your baby and has so many useful features like the ride along board and snack tray, all very similar to the uppababy at a more digestible pricepoint. You can also pair it with a ton of infant car seats, just make sure you get the right adapter! mocking bird has the adapters right on their website so they make it really easy.

The Doona seems so convenient but I don't like that if I have a larger baby they may grow out of it faster. I will probably still need to get another stroller on top of that later down the road when they want to be sitting up and looking out more. Definitely look for one that will grow with baby. I had the Mockingbird with my first and loved that I could buy the car seat attachment for my specific model but still had the seat saved for when he was about 9 months old and could sit up. Love Since cost may not be a deal breaker, I think some of the Nuna's allow you to put in the car seat and won't need a separate stroller.

just spent a month researching. my takeaway: Nuna - loved this one the most (mixx or trvl xl) but all of the carseats/accesories make it extra pricey. my fav uber premium option uppababy- i found these all to be kind of rigid and too large. didn't like the vibe but its obvs popular mockingbird - decided on this one and so far love the balance of quality and price point. truly feels strong but also premium, while not being huge, and almost all the features feel obvious instead of buried silver cross - if you really want to go with the most premium it is indeed very nice. graco Modes nest - solid budget option. felt a little on the light/fragile side for me but if lightweight with versatility is important, this one isn't bad at all bugaboo - maybe the one i tried was a janky floor model but i didn't think it was smooth at all. nuna/mock crushed it

We love our Mockingbird but it takes up most of the trunk of our Rav. We actually just bought a cheaper brand wagon for this reason. If we could go back in time I would have gotten a frame snap and go for the infant stage and a higher end wagon after instead of our Mockingbird.

I’d bring a stroller either way. Kids get tired and overwhelmed easily when traveling. My son got overwhelmed with TSA and the airport in general and wanted to sit in the stroller, normally we’d have to fight him getting into it when we’re out and about. Traveled with 3 under 3 last year and we sucked it up and brought the full double tandem with bench seat to haul all 3 (Joovy Qool equivalent to the mockingbird) it was a lifesaver being able to shove the kids, the personal items and diaper bags in one place while my husband dealt carrying the other stuff. I’ll be solo traveling and taking my youngest soon and as much as I wanted to get a used single travel stroller, I will be bringing the full sized stroller again (with only one seat this time) just to be able to haul all my bags and car seat and still at least have one hand free if needed.

So, a couple things— First of all, a single stroller plus baby wearing may be easier sometimes. I’d recommend both the stroller and the baby wearing device be doable for either the newborn or the toddler because you might want the option to do either version. For a double, I’m going to offer a counterpoint. A lot of people are complaining about tandem but we use ours for something pretty specific which is neighborhood walks including walking to daycare. We are always on sidewalks and you have to pay attention to bumps or whatever but I think that’s true of a lot of options. My wife almost accidentally tipped our wagon yesterday going around a bend so other styles aren’t a guarantee of not-tippiness. Anyway, I think the advantage to tandem is that they convert between two and one seat, right? I haven’t seen a side by side model that does that. So we like our Mockingbird and the fact you can rearrange the seats however you want— we currently like doing tandem with the kids facing each other, toddler facing forward at the top so he can see baby and the view, and baby facing backwards in the lower position so she can see both mom and brother. Meanwhile it’s very fast to switch into a single stroller if we only have one kid or are wearing one kid. My main quibble is that it is a little bulky as a double stroller in terms of folding, we really have to take everything apart to fit it in the Prius trunk. The main thing that’s annoying is that we have to take off the plastic pieces converting it to a double, but we don’t have an obvious place to store them while keeping them attached to the stroller which would be my preference. It’s not an issue with our SUV trunk though.

The reinforcement piece they sent to fix the issue was super straightforward; have there been any issues since then? I agree though, I was pregnant at the time of the post and haven’t forgotten it! But we’ve used ours pretty hard as a single since getting the reinforcement, no issues yet.

You will be using the stroller a lot longer than you’ll be using the infant seat. I would highly recommend you base your choice on the stroller, not the car seat. You don’t have to use the Aria, you can get an adapter and use a different seat. Also it’s not recommended that babies spend a lot of time in the car seat outside the car, so you may not really want them in the infant seat much once they’re big enough for the stroller seat. And a lot of parents quit using the infant seat even before it’s technically outgrown, just because it’s super heavy as your kid gets bigger and some babies start to hate the infant seat and do better in a convertible. Also also, almost all babies outgrow the height limit (and the 1” rule if it applies to the seat) before the weight, so getting a seat with a higher weight limit likely won’t help much. The Mockingbird is nowhere near the quality of the Uppababy, in my opinion. If you need good suspension I would definitely go with the better quality stroller.

I have the mockingbird and I hate it. It’s massive and we have to disconnect the seat (and, previously, the bassinet attachment) every time we store it. It takes up the whole trunk of my large SUV. It’s heavy and you cannot open or close it with one hand. I have yet to figure out how to close it ‘gently’ without it smashing into the pavement (could be user error but it’s still difficult to fold closed). It handles well on pavement and sidewalks, but don’t even think about taking it off paved surfaces - it will get stuck. Maneuverability is awful, but that might be true of any stroller of this size. The safety harness is cheap and flimsy and the clip keeps coming apart. The bassinet attachment is not sturdy and does not standalone, meaning you can’t use it unless it’s clipped in to the stroller because it folds in on itself. My newborn would be bouncing all over the place in there at the tiniest bump because the stroller does not ride smoothly. For the sake of argument, here are the pros: adjusting the seat recline is very easy and smooth. The fabric is sturdy and feels like it will hold up well to frequent use. My husband likes the adjustable handlebar, so it’s good for tall folks. The storage basket underneath is pretty big. All things considered, I do not recommend. My LO is only about 8 months old and I’m already looking for a better stroller option. Uppababy is at the top of my list. My good friends have the vista and love it, though they do struggle with its size similar to my struggles with the mockingbird’s size. However, the vista seems to outmatch the mockingbird for safety, durability, maneuverability, and meets all the basic requirements of a stroller like easy reclining.

We did a lot of travel baby’s first year. We have the Mockingbird and absolutely love it. I know a lot of people feel like the bassinet attachment is unnecessary, but we loved having it. It made us more comfortable to take long walks with her and not worrying about “container time”. Plus it folded down so easily to travel and we got away with using that for travel sleep instead of the pack and play for the first 6 months. Made travel a lot easier and even trips to friends houses easier so she always had somewhere to nap. And very excited to get more use out of it with our second. We do love hiking, but don’t use the stroller much for it as it felt more inconvenient and heavy than just baby wearing.

I just recently got the Mockingbird stroller (also recommended by my brother) + accessories from fb marketplace for $150 that looks new still. An actual steal, it’s the deal of the year for me. I love having both bc the doona is a car seat/stroller in one so it’s easy for errands and the mockingbird we use for our walks, theme parks, any longer days planned. We ended up going with the mockingbird, the suspension is pretty good and the wheels are pretty big but sometimes its a little hard to navigate bc of size but the storage is fabulous and you can get the bassinet attachment (we didn’t). It does work with quite a few car seats (I would check the list on their website to make sure it would work with what you need). When we travel (which we only did once) we had to gate check the stroller but it was nice to use in the airport. Plus I loved it bc I knew I would be able to use it into her older toddler years and then add in a second seat for a second kid (so I wouldn’t have to buy another stroller in a year or two). The hunt for the perfect stroller is hard tho, but I say keep looking and don’t settle!

I hated leaving my baby in the car seat in general and I don’t like how low the baby is to the ground, plus I’m 5’9” and husband is 6’4”, so it never really looked like an option for me. We had the mockingbird with the bassinet attachment for when she was little and loved it, it was bulky but served us very well.

I've never needed to fold my stroller on the T or bus. My larger one is a Mockingbird. It's OK. This is my smaller one and it folds small enough to fit in the lockers at the Aquarium and the Children's Museum: https://www.munchkin.com/sparrow-ultra-compact-stroller?Color=Black&utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=17191377320&gbraid=0AAAAADeSJHiBYkGMrSp0B25K4evRPQcFp&gclid=CjwKCAiAzrbIBhA3EiwAUBaUdXQk_PiHsl2MpTaj1-9SMyig-jpzmApShSCg2FARGDqCJih0KX9nJxoCIa4QAvD_BwE

Double stroller! Went with the mockingbird single to double. Initially did the snap in for the car seats and then later used the bucket seats. My twins are 2 now and our stroller still gets a ton of use because when I do errands with them they still aren’t old enough to not run off in a store and I can’t hold both their hands and do the shopping.

I would skip the travel system. Buy a car seat and a stroller that you like. A lot of brands have adaptors to fit whatever car seat you want (I think Chicco is the exception here - they don’t have adaptors for their strollers). We got a Chicco bravo/keyfit travel system with my oldest. He HATED that seat and we switched him to a convertible seat by 5 months. We reused it for my second and she ALSO hated it. I got a nicer Graco seat for her and it changed everything. We also weren’t huge fans of the Chicco stroller but it folded easily and was one of the few at the time that had an adjustable handle height. We ditched that stroller for a nicer one (mockingbird) with #2 (I suggest starting with a single to double stroller if you want to have more kids in the future) and the nicer stroller had a universal car seat adaptor, but we only took her in the stroller in the car seat a few times. I primarily babywore whenever we went shopping and the stroller is just for walks. You can skip the bucket seat all together if you want and go straight to a rotating seat (we have the Chicco fit360 and love it), the bucket seat is just convenient for taking into the doctors office or wherever when they’re super fresh or getting them buckled in inside in the winter/summer.

We went with a Chicco travel system the first time around and didn’t realize how bad it was until we upgraded. The kids also both hated the car seat. Couldn’t justify uppababy so we got a mockingbird and we love it. Plus both seats have the higher weight limit. We really enjoy the versatility and have used it in sooo many configurations.

Double for sure. We took our oldest to Disneyland at almost-3 and used our mockingbird and it worked great so I’m sure an uppababy would work. Only think we discovered was that we might prefer more basket storage at Disney so we’re talking about getting a cheap side by side the next time we go (with both kids). You definitely want one where both seats recline for naps

I got the evenflo pivot and hated it! Adding babe and a diaper bag made the stroller hard to push and so squeaky. Within 2 weeks of him being home, we bought a mockingbird. I LOVE it! I got the single to double and the seat that comes with it reclines so much that he’s practically laying down flat so I don’t feel like I need a bassinet. It’s fairly bulky but I can put it away with baby in my arms. It can be fairly priced on Facebook marketplace too!

Absolutely obsessed with the mockingbird stroller. IMO, it’s just as nice as a nuna or uppababy…and half the price. It’s lightweight and folds easy. We got an adapter to attach our Chicco car seat to the stroller base. It’s been great. Seconding…do not trade in your SUV for a truck. You’ll want to extra SUV space later on…trust me. I wouldn’t put too much thought into a diaper bag. I got a backpack like diaper bag and it’s been great. You really don’t need anything special. Even a normal tote bag works just fine.

You don’t need a diaper bag specifically. I use my favorite tote. I have the mockingbird Convirtible stroller that can turn into a two-seater with a toddler standing platform. It’s very lightweight and easy to open one handed. We got the Chicco Keyfit 35 ClearTex for infant car seat, and got the adapter for the stroller. It was easy to take in and out of the car seat now that my baby is a toddler, we have the Greico Extend2Fit 3-in-1 and it’s going to last us a very long time.

We have the mockingbird stroller and love it! It’s easy to collapse and open, drives really nicely, and works for both me (5’6”) and my husband (6’). It also has a bunch of options for accessories like a bassinet, cup holders, more storage, etc. We got the Clek Liing car seat and adapter for the stroller and it works great. The Clek Liing infant car seat is the best for safety but you will need to replace it when baby outgrows it. For when that happens, we got the Graco extend2fit 3-in-1 so we can keep baby rear facing as long as possible. Would recommend all 3 if price is not an issue!

I have three kids and we now have every type of stroller I can imagine and we do actually use all of them. 1. When we were having our first, we bought a Graco "travel system" with an infant car seat and stroller. LOVE this for babies up until they can walk basically and we've used the infant seat for all three of our kids. Super convenient to be able to just plop them in the stroller if they fell asleep in the car or vice versa, plus the infant car seats are lighter and easier to carry around with baby in them than the all-in-one car seats that are designed to stay in the car. Once baby could walk/outgrew the infant seat, we got them a convertible car seat that could grow into a booster. At this point we could still keep using the stroller as a normal stroller without the car seat attached to it, but we had #2 on the way, so we bought... 2. ...the Mockingbird single-to-double stroller! And we gave the travel system stroller to my mom who watches our kids a lot so she could have a stroller at her house. We got the car seat adapter for the Mockingbird so that when #2 was a newborn, we could keep using it just like we did the travel system, but we could also have #1 in the stroller too. Highly recommend this stroller. It has all the features of the more expensive double strollers, but a much lower price. The storage basket underneath is huge and we've had nothing but great experiences with their customer service. It's so great that it can be used equally well as a single or a double (great planning for siblings in the future!) 3. Then along came #3, and the older two were getting too big for the double stroller. So, we used the Mockingbird mostly as a single stroller with the car seat adapter for #3, but now that #3 is older (11mo), we got a Jeep umbrella stroller from a consignment sale and love using that on trips or just keeping it stashed in the car as it doesn't take up too much space and is small/easy to maneuver around. 4. We also got the Radio Flyer Voya Quad Stroller Wagon recently and LOVE it for things where we need to keep all 3 kids contained as it still fits the older two in it. Wonderfolds are really popular right now for stroller wagons, but honestly the radio flyer voya double or quad is just as good if not better. It's easier to fold up, lighter, smaller, less expensive, and comes with more accessories than the Wonderfold. All this to say - I would personally recommend going with the Mockingbird single to double stroller and just getting a car seat adapter for an infant car seat. That would give you all the benefits of a travel system but also more versatility for the future.

I hated the graco travel system stroller (purchased 4 years ago). It was impossible to maneuver with one hand. Felt glitchy and cheap. I quickly changed over to the Uppababy Minu. The ride was so much smoother it was insane. When we had a second, I got the Mockingbird secondhand and that’s been nice, but kinda big. Anyways, I love Graco for car seats but NOT strollers.

They’re not durable. There have been numerous big recalls due to them falling apart mid-walk, often with kids in them in the middle of busy intersections. And the company as a whole handled the recalls horribly. Didn’t allow returns/refunds. Just gave a flimsy little plastic piece to give it more structure. Was forced into the recall instead of doing it voluntarily. I LOVED researching strollers back when my kids were young enough for them and it is one that I consistently always refused to get. It’s a cheap, poorly made, still expensive Uppababy dupe.

I would recommend the cheapest possible. We have 4 strollers, the mockingbird single/double conversion, the Chico bravo, and a single and double bob. I would say the bob is totally worth it if you are a runner, but is otherwise too clunky to fit in the car with a bunch of other things (like a road trip). Also, you can get em used and they are tanks. We got our double bob used. Pretty sure I’m like the 4th owner with how haggard it looks, but I’ve put probably 2000 running miles in the thing. The mockingbird just sucks, it isn’t enjoyable and that was the most expensive. It is hard to fit in the car alone. if we leave the house and want a stroller we use the bravo. But honestly, I’d say you can almost…almost get away without one at all. It is difficult in the newborn stage, but once they are able to hold on to you while you carry them, you don’t need one. I know what you are thinking, “I don’t want to carry them everywhere” but you are basically walking into the store where you can use a cart, or going to coffee where you can sit down, or they just get out and run everywhere anyway.get the cheap one

I have it. Don’t get it. It’s not a smooth ride if you put the car seat on it. It’s big too so if you’re a person that wants to stroll around in the house because it’s the only way the baby wants to sleep, it’s hard to maneuver. I have accidentally hit my doorframe a few times.

I’m saying it doesn’t do turns well. Like getting around cars, doors etc. if you’re not going and staying in only wide areas, I wouldn’t get it. I have the attachments and the seats and the car seats wobble on it. It doesn’t absorb much of the bumps. I expected it to be harder to turn, I just didn’t expect needing that much room. I end up having to back up a lot and attempting it again when turning to get the stroller out of my house when taking my kid on a walk. I’d say it’s easier to turn a shopping cart than it. I’ve gotten used to it but I wish it absorbed more of the bumps. I honestly have more of a problem with it being wobbly from where the car seat attaches to the converter. I do however like the space under the stroller.

Also the mockingbird is quite hard to push with 2 as the older child gets bigger (my kids are 2 years apart and in the 10th-ish percentile, so I can’t imagine how hard it would be to push a 90th percentile kid in the front spot of that stroller!). I would wait and use what you have and then get a side by side double when/if the time comes for baby 2.

Same situation but due in August! We're going with the Mockingbird, when I tested it out today at Target, it felt so much nicer than the others on display. They didn't have the Uppababy so I can't compare it in sturdiness. As for a car seat, we're leaning toward the Chicco Fit360, but I'm not sure how well it'll fit in my car (Hyundai Elantra)! Funny because I actually hate this stroller. We almost always choose the wagon over this stroller when we go places unless we definitely need a 5 point restraint. Disappointed because I did so much research on the best one to get for more than one kid. It’s hard to steer with two kids in it, very heavy and clunky, it almost always has to be completely disassembled to fold/close properly with the second seat attachment or to fit in most cars, its feels cheaply made and a bit rickety, every single attachment is so expensive. I could go on. I just wish I would have gotten a similar quality stroller for a cheaper price or paid the premium for the uppa baby (though now I’m not seeing great reviews about that one either for the price)

I don’t have Nuna, but I do have the Joie 360 convertible seat, and after two babies, I’ve learned you really don’t need the full travel systems. Honestly, you can skip the infant car seat altogether. They’re heavy, awkward to carry, and babies shouldn’t sleep in them outside the car anyway. The only real perks of an infant car seat I find are: they’re easier to swap between cars if you have multiple bases, the built-in shades for car naps and sun protection, and a bit of extra protection from wintry/rainy weather. Beyond that, I found them more trouble than they’re worth. And for anyone who says they aren’t risking waking a sleeping baby in one, they’re not considered a safe sleep space due to positional asphyxiation for the most part outside of the car. With my first (born in 2021), we did the full travel system. With my second (born this past July), I switched to a convertible 360 seat that stays in the car, a Mockingbird stroller with a bassinet, and a Solly baby wrap, and it’s been a total game-changer. I baby-wear any time I’m shopping or running errands (why juggle a stroller and a cart?), and I save the stroller for walks from home. When we go into the city, the carrier wins every time - no parking the stroller outside restaurants or folding it up to bring inside. He sleeps better in it, it takes up no space, and my hands are free for my 4-year-old. If you’re not doing daily walks from home, you might be better off with a compact travel stroller that’s newborn-friendly. Most people who buy the big travel systems end up realizing they want something smaller and easier to fold anyway. In many countries, “car seat strollers” aren’t even a thing. Our infant car seat was easily our biggest regret purchase, especially where we only left the house for appointments with baby 1 and kept our stroller at home with the bassinet. Expensive to sit in the car until baby sized out of it lol

We are expecting on the same schedule as you and just bought a secondhand mockingbird to test out. We found someone in our area selling the double with 2 seats and the riding board. We're hopeful that works for us since our toddler is a clingy man, and I'm not sure he'd jump right to a riding board. I personally like the idea of how interchangeable it is (and we have narrow sidewalks where I'd be worried about a side by side double).

We had a mockingbird single to double from our singleton and use that for quick outings when we want to keep them in their infant carriers (graco). I got the extra adapters and such from GoodBuyGear for really cheap. If we didn’t already have this from our first, I would have done the baby trend snap & go for this purpose.
