I got the aoc cu34g2xe and the response times are terrible to be honest, tried all settings weak overdrive is the only setting without inverse ghosting and any lower than weak the screen just smears into a mess when moving, the colours are good and HDR can be set up nice and most importantly the UW is very nice but daym compared to my Odyssey 240hz g7 its really bad at dark scenes and even some bright scenes with smearing and response times but the samsung monitors have some bad quality control "my screen is coming away from the monitor" and software can be bad. still gonna keep using this for now but after a few days im considering using it as a 2nd monitor instead
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [deleted by user] ->Ultrawide *is* affordable if you are happy with a VA panel. Mines been great. As a stay at home dad, I don't have the budget for an OLED UW so this was a good compromise. Yeah ok, small tiny niggles but the immersion is just worth it. https://preview.redd.it/qdsyescqad2f1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4851eba27809ec13dd6bbb607be090800aa1403b
r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->It's the AOC CU34G2XE with some LED bars behind.
r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->It's a nice enough panel. I've not really had anything negative to say about it. It does everything I need without crippling my wallet.
r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->Yeah it's been used constantly. If I was going to be picky, the backlight doesn't create a uniform tiny over the entire screen when the screen is fully black. It's nothing diabolical but I've spotted it a few times. Doesn't bother me since in other aspects, it's been fine. Freesync works as it should, the menus are pretty much standard although the software makes life easier not that you need it. Would I get another? You bet!
r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->if you live near a microcenter, i would wait and see if they have any refurbished ultrawides. the one by me in fairfax had like 9 refurbished AOC CU34G2s in stock and i got one for 150 bucks when they still msrp for over twice that amount new. you'll have a month to see if you notice the smearing and can return it, and its not a big investment otherwise, great option to just try one out imo. i thought id notice it more but haven't noticed it at all. have been more than happy with it
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why are all of the 34” ultrawide monitors VA panels or OLED? ->Hi, first things first, this is my first post here so i hope i don't break any rules, if so i apologise. With the rise of the OLED technology in monitors i started to look for an upgrade to the panel i'm using right now to write this text. Currently i have an AOC CU34G2X as a daily driver, an ultrawide VA panel which i find to have inky blacks and good contrast. Even though i don't have the professional equipment to test and measure response time and peak luminance, i can def agree with the review from rthings saying that these aspects are poor. Now, in search for an upgrade i'm struggling to find a decent option that could justify the cost. Don't get me wrong, oled monitors are absolutely incredible, no doubt in this, but i spend a lot of time using static apps and, even when i game, i often play titles that rely heavily on ui and static elements in general like Baldur's Gate, so risk of burn in is a no go for my use case. Also, hiding the taskbar, changing windows background etc. are all things that, in my personal opinion, shouldn't be done when buying panels worth almost 1000$. For this reason i ended up looking for a MiniLED panel as a compromise, as hdr content reproduction is something i do care now, only to find out that... let me double check... yes, there are only 7 21:9 MiniLed monitors available on the entire market. I also listed them all, just in case i was missing any: \-TCL 34R83Q \-Lenovo Legion Y34wz-30 \-AOC AG344UXM \-Innocn 34M1R \-Philips 34M2C7600MV \-Acer Predator X34V3 \-ViewSonic Elite XG341C‑2-K No need to say that all of these are basically out of stock everywhere (I live in EU btw) and, when are in stock, cost even more than oled alternatives. I completely understand that the vast majority of the public is more interested in oled monitors and, by consequence, the supply for MiniLED LCD panels is much shorter, but, to be honest, i'm running out of ideas so i would really like to ask you for advice and opinions. Thx in advance
r/Monitors • Current state of MiniLED technology in Ultrawide panels ->Thanks for your answer. As for the reviews, i mainly check on rthings and MU as you said, plus tft central and display ninja. These sites are the only one that feature professional measurements to my knowledge. And i can tell you, the only monitor between the one i named that received a review is the AOC (by TFT central). I know that the other ones even exist only thanks to reddit users’ reviews (which as you can guess are not reliable by any means and are often in direct opposition) 😅 The total absence of review material not only means that i don’t have a trustworthy source of infos, but also that i can’t know the exact value of the product nor its defects. As for used deals, that’s a great idea! In fact, i already checked the most used market platforms in my country (including eBay, facebook marketplace and others), but sadly i couldn’t manage to find a single offer.
r/Monitors • Current state of MiniLED technology in Ultrawide panels ->Booo. Well if you want a decent uw va, I can recommend the AOC CU34G2. It was what I upgraded from. Only 100hz, but there is a faster model available and it shouldn't be too expensive.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I need advice on choosing a 34” ultrawide monitor ->Own similar AOC g34g2. My best buy in few years. After few months cach myself mind "i want 32x9 beast" 🤣
r/Monitors • What do yall think about ultrawide monitors for gaming, movies etc.. ->I have an AOC CU34 for work. Relatively inexpensive, ultrawide, and comes with a KVM to make laptop docking easier. It's my go-to recommendation for WFH
r/excel • Two monitors or ultrawide? What is everyone using? ->34". All the way. We have had AOC x 2 with zero issues, great monitor. My lad is currently on an LG 34" which seems to be fine, little bit of bleed. My daughter is also on a 34" Viewsonic, i'm on a 49" uw. My two main gaming buds are also 34". Both with 3060s. For gaming, gotta be 34" curved, it's a beautiful thing. Imo, i would stay away from nzxt myself.
r/buildapc • 27" Dual Monitors or 34" Ultrawide? ->Having the same usage as you, i have a AOC 34" Ultra wide, and i'm thinking to go for a 32" 4K specially because of the height resolution.
r/Monitors • 34" ultrawide monitor for dev + gaming: OLED vs IPS? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
