Ah I just got mine today. Here were the top 3 picks I narrowed down to: * MSI MPG 346CQRF X24 * Alienware AW3425DWM * AOC CU34G4Z There were several other options but I eliminated them. Ended up going for the MSI. MSI has a higher refresh rate than the Alienware, and the Alienware had smearing at Extreme response time. MSI also had higher static contrast and an AI tools function (not sure how good it is). There isn't much information on the MSI though.

r/ultrawidemasterraceThe nightmare that is finding an IPS in 2025 vs VA and OLED.

For the same reason there are no curved IPS panels... It's difficult. Since there are no curved IPS panels, no one wants to make 34" UW panels because it is simply horrible to use such a wide flat panel. Now, we are no longer in 2022 and earlier where only Samsung panels above the G6 were good VA panels, now panels made by TCL CSOT, using Samsung's old factories and their patents are capable of decent performance. The difficult part is finding monitors that use these panels... For now, I can confirm that AOC CU34G2XP and CU34G4Z KTC H34S18 Lenovo G34W-30 Philips Evnia 34M2C3500L TCL 34R83Q They are the only ones that do or do use these "new" HVA panels from TCL CSOT which have performance in response times much higher than the rest of the VA panels not made by TCL.

Hey. In my country, Hungary (close to Germany), the AOC CU34G4Z costs barely more than other 3440x1440 monitors but it's 240Hz. I think its previous versions (100Hz, 144Hz) were heralded as some of the best value ultrawides in the previous years. I remember having the 144Hz version like 5 years ago, I was very happy with it. Maybe it's similarly well-priced in Germany too.

I have the AOC CU34G4Z and had a Gigabyte M27Q (first version) before. Out of the box the aoc cu34g4z was better in everything except color vividness, by default its settings had colors that looked a bit gray/desaturated compared to my old ips, but after playing with the settings the colors are now better. Contrast ratio is much better than the m27q, black actually looks close to real black (obviously not as black as an oled but much blacker than on the old one). Response time/smearing/.. is great for my eyes, but tbh I'm not super sensitive to it. Usb port placement is dumb, just like on every other screen, lol Going from 27" 1440p to 34" 3440x1440 was amazing, much more screen space but still pretty easy to render for my rx 9070. If you haven't seen it irl, it's basically like a 27" 1440p display with extra space on each side. No dead pixels.

r/ultrawidemasterraceHelp me choose! AOC CU34G4Z (VA) or AOC AGON PRO AG346UCD (OLED)??

I have the VA panel. Lots of black level smearing and poor motion clarity. I’d opt for the OLED in a heartbeat.

I used th aoc 34g4z i think its the same panel (240hz, 0,3 mprt etc) and the performance is excelent, no ghosting no smearing. white text at black background are not smearing when scrolling.

r/ultrawidemasterraceIs the AOC CU34G2XP worth it?

I currently have the CU34G4Z and I'm thinking of "down"grading to the older version, cause the newer one only has 2500:1 contrast ratio, but the blacks also suck on it because of a heavy glow in each corner, which doesn't make the black look black, but milky instead. How was it with the AOC CU34G2XP? did it have VA glow?

How is the VA Glow? I have the CU34G4Z and it's really bad, where I don't feel like I'm in a dark area in dark games

How is the VA Glow? My CU34G4Z has a lot of it in each corner, breaking the immersion that I'm playing a dark game.

There are no more IPS in the segment anymore. I spent a whole month looking for them, even tried to order one from an outlet - no luck. The only chance is that Z Edge, which I suspect is the same panel as the Gigabyte M34WQ, but there's zero reviews. In the end I bought an AOC CU34G4Z which I use also for simracing, after being afraid of VA for years. It's fantastic, I like It more than my previous Gigabyte M34WQ ips.

Colours are great, but I guess the blacks could be deeper. Unfortunately I don't have another VA panel to compare but coming from IPS/TN there is definitely an improvement

Literally 0 smear in games. Granted I have only played BF6,WoW, and CS2. Readability is also excellent, only place I have seen some smearing is on the UFO test.
