Glad my laptop handles 240Hz just fine over USB-C to DP. I was asking about 60Hz before since the specs said the port shouldn’t support anything higher. Honestly, this monitor’s been awesome — coming from a 1080p@60Hz IPS setup 😄
I use it mostly for movies and browsing, not gaming. Scrolling in dark mode is smooth enough for me, though you might still notice a bit of smearing if you look for it.
Default preset (Racing Mode)
I've been using mine for a week now. For the price, it is a pretty nice monitor. No fancy design, but the picture quality is good, very responsive , and I have observed no ghosting or smearing whatsoever. For some odd reason, games run much smoother when HDR is on which is great. Unfortunately, my gpu is a 4060, so the no support for G-sync is disappointing, but that's true about almost all monitors in this price range.
Honestly, there's no ghosting or at least not noticeable. I've done the UFO test and observed crispy clear animation. As for 250 HZ , no I haven't tried it yet since 240 HZ seems to suffice.
Yes, mine did come with all kinds of cables included.
Why would you pay for 250 hz monitor and then run it in 60 hz? I simply don't touch the 240 hz native setting.
I can give you some solid feedback, cause im using it since January. Overall, I think it’s a really good monitor for the price. The HDR is decent, nothing extraordinary, but still enjoyable. If you’re using an Nvidia GPU, the downside is that G-SYNC can cause noticeable flickering. On the positive side, it has great colors, solid brightness, and overall delivers a very good experience. As my first ultrawide monitor as well, I find it impressive.
I use it daily for all kinds of games ARPGs, shooters, racing...and I haven’t noticed any ghosting or screen issues. Overall, it’s a decent monitor: it delivers in every aspect, doesn’t particularly stand out in anything, but it also doesn’t have any major downsides.
irl is not bothering, u know its a VA panel and this come with pro and conts, in the video is OD 5 (this monitor have 5 levels) AND 960px/s, i used slowmo video just to help to see any ghosting, i can send u more video, but now im work, sadly ill send u in a few hours
If it doesn't have to be curved, I would go for the MSI MAG401QR instead. I have both an Asus VA 34inch ultrawide and that IPS and I prefer flat screens.
I have an asus vg34 that I got for around that price. I returned the msi mag it was absolute trash.
I have this, and it's been really good so far. Out of all the sub 300-350 34' uw, this is the best I'd say, even better than the gigabyte one. Ofc you're not gonna get oled in this price range, so if you're like me who wants a 34uw dub 300, get this. Got it last year for 235 from microcenter with a $35 2 year extended warranty, so the price seems standard for this
my Monitor nerd review: \-Pretty good monitor for a VA panel \-Doesnt have massive brightness issues like the samsung VA ultra/superultrawides \-pretty good deal for $260 \-if you've never used a curved monitor visit a best buy or something and see if its for you, they are "different" \-for gaming OLED is significantly better as its performance in darkness/blacks is a universe better, but if you dont play those kinds of games then it'll be fine. \-if you decide on another monitor dont go super ultrawide unless you are a real enthusiast, regular ultrawide is as wide as you really want to wide, most games dont properly support super \-iirc adaptive sync is a tiny bit iffy on these monitors and can cause very light flickering in certain situations that are 99.99% almost always on loading screens when the "framerate" is super unstable
I bought Asus for $269 and have zero issues with it. Great gaming monitor for the price.
I thought I could handle the smearing on VA until I actually owned one. The first time I saw it in a dark game scene I actually said “eww what the fuck” out loud. I’m sure some panels are better about it than others and mine was cheap, but I agree with your assessment. Only caveat to your recommendations is OLED is amazing for pure gaming but not my choice for mixed productivity work because you can only do so much to eliminate text fringing.
This is the one I have and I have had 0 problems with it.
