Ghosting, low brightness, poor colour. Pretty good bang for buck a couple years ago but not anymore eh. I did an incremental upgrade to ASUS TUF VG34VQL3A and sold my G5, so worthwhile for all the above factors

I still dont understand why VG34VQL3A more expensive than VG34VQ3B when 3B is the newer model. Better stand matters that so much?

I was in the same boat and ordered both. Ive got the asus VG34VQL3A VA right in front of me playing RDR2 and a Dell Alienware AW3423DWF OLED watching Stream. My 34GN850P-B IPS will arive tomorrow. Already got one but it was DOA. I can tell you 2 things about the OLED and VA: 1. The VA has terrible VRR Flicker and I had to disable it because it gave me headaches. Bright areas always flicker regardless of FPS. It flickers with 40 and with 140. Common problem with this Panel but everything else is superb for VA. You have to sit straight in front of it for having its color shine bright. I like this one a lot but the VRR sucks ass. 2. The OLED has terrible fringing on text. Its barely noticable on white text with bright background but white text on black background is a pain to read. VRR flicker is not that bad and limited to grey-ish areas when running below 57fps. Will not keep it since the text fringing is driving me nuts. Feel free to AMA

I just bought the Asus Tuf [VG34VQL3A](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7BBG2QB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title) and I couldn't be happier. Very little if any ghosting that I personally notice on the ufo test with overdrive set to 1.

I eventually went with the 3A. It is brighter than stated 400 nits—the 1B is only about 10% brighter. The 3A has better color, and the option for a higher refresh rate. I forgot to measure the contrast, but I suspect it is at least as good as the 1B, which is actually around 4500:1 according to RTINGS. In a dark room, I find the display brightness to be adequate. Anecdotally, the smearing is minimal, and also seems superior to the 1B.

I suggest you give the newer VA a try. I was an IPS stan for a long time, it started because of how bad the TN panels were back in 2015 or so. I wanted to get an ultrawide, and I wasn't sure if I was gonna like it, so I went with a VA instead of Oled. This was a year ago. The VA panel that I got turned out to be really good. Much better in color and blacks than my aging IPS. Now I'm rocking double ultrawide, Oled as my main, and the VA as my 2nd. My Oled is the Alienware AW3425DW. I got it recently thanks to prime day. My VA is the Asus Tuf VG34VQL3A. My first VA and my first ultrawide because I didn't want to pay for an Oled when I wasn't sure about ultrawide yet. My aging IPS is the Acer Predator XB271HU. It was top of the line back then. Used it for more than a decade and it's still solid for what it is. Gave it to my cousin as an upgrade from his 144hz TN.

I use it for everything—gaming, light 3D modeling, and video editing. It’s only 1440p but runs at 165Hz (the newer version is 180Hz now). The only downside for me is that it’s not OLED, so I’ll probably upgrade at some point. [Link](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7BBG2QB?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4&th=1)

I added a link in my first comment for Amazon. It’s the Asus TUF gaming 34” monitor. (VG34VQL3A) it’s just under $400 USD so not sure on the conversion to €’s but it should be around your budget I’d assume

There’s a 180hz version on Amazon of the ASUS with 125% srgb gamut specifically that one cause there’s two different versions with 180hz and it’s $349 34 inch. Used to sell these at Best Buy when I worked there and owned it personally and was awesome. I’d get that and not either of these just a thought. Hope that helps! 🙏 Model# VG34VQL3A

It’s right around the same price point in the pics with better specs and I owned it personally and worked at Best Buy and tested most of these monitors for customers. Was only a suggestion. I loved mine just wanted see if I could help. I had noticed a lot of returns for Samsung monitors with dead pixel issues and it’s only about $50 more for the best quality version of that monitor model. Both those are perfectly fine just figured I’d throw that idea in there and try help you squeeze every penny out of what you’re paying for it. Again both are totally fine options at that price just a suggestion that’s all.

Here is the list na pinagpipilian ko before: **VA Monitors(low/mid tier - might have smearing or ghosting issue):** AOC CU34G2XP 34" 240hz - 20k+ , na try ko yung 32" so got good expectation sa 34" model. Gigabyte GP-G34WQC-A-AP 144hz - 16k+ , this is probably the cheapest on my list, though bad yung reviews. Asus TUF Gaming VG34VQL3A 34" -22k-26k - since im using Asus laptop, i am considering this. meron pa syang isang model, though i dont really know the main difference. both are 180z. good review from YT. **OLED Monitors(high ends - no smearing/ghosting but possibility of burn-in):** Acer Predator X34 X 34" OLED - sub 50k, gaming monitor aesthetics, 240hz.. so for 240hz OLED its already cheap. AOC Argon Pro AG346UCD QD-OLED 34" - 50k+ , 175hz OLED.. just middle ground from acer and LG. LG UltraGear 34GS95QE-B OLED 34" WQHD - 60k+, the most expensive on my list, this is the one i consider since it looks non-gamery. though it lacks some feature for its price. there is also Asus ROG, which i didnt consider since its 80k+ which is out of my budget. so as you can see, im already considering OLED(rabbit decision hole hahaha), I have enough fund to stretch to even buy the 80k ROG but im not willing to.. so nung lumabas yung samsung odyssey g8 34" OLED 175hz sa L store na 60% off(37k sale price, 35k using voucher and free shipping, 75k-79k original price).. then napa step back ako.. its best of both world na.. mid price from 20-70k budget, while getting all the benefits of a high end OLED. though not sure if it still exists, since nung binalikan ko yung product page,. not found na. https://preview.redd.it/yib86827i76f1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=59e94803b864eb8cdfd4028e8cff2e490d81e879

The 3A has better response times also, had the monitor for about 5 months now and it was built the same month I bought it. The 3A is 1ms response time vs 5ms, it has 8+2bit color and is really bright already. The flickering only happens when I decide to close a game and it is only for a split second. If you don't have YouTube open it won't happen at all. Paid $250 with tax included at a store on Black Friday. So far it is amazing because I went from a 40inch 60mhz screen to a 34inch Ultra wide 180mhz screen. Took a little while to get use to the smaller screen but my eyes don't hurt after hours of game play thanks to the 180mhz (OC'd) screen. Hope this helps someone. Just got this. Amazing monitor. There's an "overclock" option in the OSD menu, which the OS picks up as native 180hz support, no need to create a custom resolution. Haven't tried overclocking via custom resolution. I want to mention g-sync flicker as I was concerned about this since it's a VA panel. The first one I bought had really bad flickering during loading scenes mostly but also a bit during gameplay. I exchanged it for a different one and I can't see any flicker at all, even during loading scenes! The color, brightness, and motion clarity is as great as my new MSI IPS panel. Highly recommended for an inexpensive ultra wide. 95% as good as OLED at 1/3 the cost.

I've done a quick search, because these monitors also once was in my radar for a while.. here's what I can conclude: -All of them comes with great contrast ratio of 4000:1 -VG34VQ3B DON'T have hdr10, 400nits, 180hz, 1ms MPRT -VG34VQL1B got the highest brightness at 550nits, hdr10, 165hz, 1ms MPRT -VG34VQL3A is samsung va, good 1ms GtG, 400nits, hdr10, 165hz (oc 180hz)

The DWF is good but I’m not a fan of QD OLED turning magenta in the light. I would go for the 34” LG OLED and just get used to the curve I’m using the new Asus tuf 34” 180hz VA and it’s very good for the price. But still not nearly as good as an OLED. Not the best response time and the black levels are much better than an ips but still not at OLED level. I love 21:9. Once I step away from it I always crave it again.

I tried the Asus and it had laughably bad blacks. Sitting next to my 27in Asus tuf IPS, it looked awful. I would go with the Samsung, haven’t tried it but it has to better than the Asus. I ended up trying the new Alienware 34in VA and it matches my ips with color and blacks which I’m most concerned about.

Yes there is a difference, but as it is very little curved, once you get used to it it is very comfortable. Personally I use it for gaming, for the internet and for photo processing, and it is perfect for everything. But as I said before, more curved I think it would be uncomfortable or even unusable for certain uses.
