I am just looking for the same. My eyes got Dell monitors: - P3424WE - S3422DWG First is IPS, which is more suitable for my needs as I do not play, stare a lot of text and do some image editing. Also LG UltraWide WQ75C got my eye, which looks like cheaper version of p3424we?

I ordered a refurbished Dell p3424we. Hopefully I will like it. Currently using Dell s2721q which is a 4K but scaling has been an issue with mac so hoping the 1440p works better? Sorry I am just thinking out loud here :) I went with a refurbished as spending more than $500 now when new models maybe announced in new year will be an irritant so perhaps I can still resell if I decide to invest in a new one.

I just received a dell 34” today. imo Side by side screens are still just as sufficient as 2 24” monitors. I also went to a micro center where they had a 40 inch on display, and it just felt like too much monitor. It’s 21:9 too, and quite lovely if I’m being honest, but 34 really feels like that sweet spot. As for a rec I’ll just say I did a bunch of research, and felt the best monitor for my needs was the dell u3425we. I was able to get one off eBay for a few hundred less than msrp. I considered the dell p3424we because it is cheaper, and it had comparable specs as the u34, but the u gives more ports and 120 Hz compared to 60 (among other things I’m sure). If those things aren’t super important to you then I think you could save some money by opting for the p34. No matter what you choose I recommend exploring the ‘open-box’ market for a good deal. Good luck!

I went from a Dell 34" UW to a Dell 49" UW and honestly the 49" is too wide for productivity. Now admittedly the curve on the Dell is not as aggressive as some of the Samsungs, but the edges of the screen are out of my field of view and require too much rotation of my neck to be useful to me. When I bought the monitor, I thought I was going to make greater use of the picture-by-picture feature to run a customer laptop and my work laptop at the same time but turns out that was not a scenario I really needed (most of my customer's would rather give me a VDI than send me a laptop). I like it for gaming, but I am considering moving to a 38 or 40" 21:9 monitor after tax season.

I don’t game. Do you think it’s an overkill just for software development? I currently have a Dell 34” ultra wide, it has a DPI of 109 which I absolutely hate.

I use the Dell Ultrawide 34" and connect via Thunderbolt. Display quality and refresh rate is perfect, not a hint of blurriness.

yup, got a Kogan 34inch, I use it as my gaming monitor, has a better refresh rate and color for gaming, I also have a Dell 34inch that is my main movie monitor and a 27 inch Acer that is primarily used for photo editing as it is colour matched to my printer and when not in use for photos discord usually lives on it [https://imgur.com/a/CPdnkvr](https://imgur.com/a/CPdnkvr)
