I have ordered this monitor but it is still not in stock yet. I think this has a newer generation panel as the native refresh rate, brightness and contrast is a bit higher and the response time is lower.

I needed a good ultrawide with power delivery as I'd like to work and game (so OLED is out of the picture and almost no IPS is available on the market) . I'm not too worried about ghosting at this price level but I can perform a test for you. I think the only downside is that it's only 8 bit. But my current IPS monitor is also 8 bit and it's already quite good. Megekko informed me that they will deliver it tomorrow, so fingers crossed!

Sure! [https://we.tl/t-l8fY55tMQS](https://we.tl/t-l8fY55tMQS) (video taken on my phone and wetransfer cuts the quality a bit. So a lot of quality is lost there but still okay to test ghosting) Overall it seems like a great monitor. Brightness and color accuracy is quite good. Response time and refresh rate also great. It works fine as a docking station too, no issues so far! Black smearing and ghosting is pretty good, almost not present. I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary compared to my IPS gaming monitor. I highly recommend this monitor! I only wish that the PbP mode would support other ratios than just 1:1. I rather prefer 2:1.

Great to hear! With power delivery you will also get rid off a lot of cables compared to using a docking station. Unfortunately regarding pbp mode, we are limited by the manufacturer’s options. Of course you can use tools like powertoys to make up window arrangements but splitting the screen is not possible with a software within the operating system. But happy to hear if you have any suggestions!

I have it for 3 days now: \- First of all, t's a VA panel and yes, there is ghosting, especially in darker scenes, when there is a lot of detail. I've been testing it in Path of Exile 2 at 240hz, with gsync on, etc on RTX 5080, overdrive 3/5 (4 doesn't make much difference and 5/5 has significant unpleasant overshoot). Night scenes with like small leaves in shade ot a lot of detail on the dark ground causes parts of the image to be darker in motion than static because of ghosting. Also black elements leave trails. It is what it is. This is the most annoying thing for me and I'm deciding if I should keep the monitor or return it, but majority of the time I will be working and browsing on it and it's not bad at all at this, but that further. Let's face it - it is noticably worse than my IPS panels, both budget HP X32s and more premium, but dated (5+ years old) LG 27GL850, which don't get darker in motion because of ghosting - this is the most annoying thing. You stand in place, the image is nice and crisp, but as soon as my character starts moving, the background gets darker instantly and then gets brighter as soon as the movement stops. In light areas and scenarios this is not a problem. Probably if you play games with bright scenes or brightness/contrast cranked up , this would be less of a problem. \- Another slightly annoying thing is that on desktop the monitor sometimes kinda fluctuates brightness... Like it gets a tiny bit brighter once every minute, sometimes longer, it happens smoothly over 1 second and it's not much, but noticable on grey areas, like dark mode websites/apps. After a while brightness smoothly goes down. I don't know what the key to this behavior is, refresh rate shouldn't fluctuate on desktop as I have the optin of dynamic refresh turned off in the system. Maybe some slight backlight volatege control issue? Maybe the reason is that my laptop is constantly plugged into the monitor and somethimes draws some energy to charge, maybe USB hub thing, no idea. It is annoying, but noticable sometimes on the desktop, not a dealbreaker, as the effect is not very violent on the eyes and not always even noticable, but it's there on my unit. \- OSD is mid, but there is everything i needed, I set it up once and I don't need to visit it, unless... \- HDMI 2.1 was one of the main reasons I decided to give this monitor a go. I am a simracer and I have a triple monitor setup on my sim rig, which takes up all my DisplayPort cable, so I have only 1 HDMI left to use for desktop monitor. The only other high refresh 21:9 monitors with HDMI 2.1 are OLEDs, which I don't want because of heavy work usage (8 hours a day) with a lot of static windows/apps/content. I would probably burn thru OLED panel pretty fast and they are also much more pricey. This monitor can go full 3440x1440 u/and 240hz with GSYNC no problem thru HDMI. \- ... I want to use Picture By Picture. You have to go thru OSD menu every time to activate it, which is not super convenient, but after few times you can get used to it. When I need it I activate it and leave it for few hours, so this 10-15 sec to set it up and then turn it off is not that bad. Btw, PBP works only in 50/50 split mode, with both halfs running aat 1720x1440 @ max 60hz - good enough for desktop stuff, can't complain. (continued in "reply"...)

There is one more thing I found in my unit of the monitor - backlight changes brightness by itself... I don't know what causes this, I sent question to iiyama, but i browsed thru every possible monitor OSD setting, every system (windows) and nvidia settings including power saving, etc. and also checked all imput/outputs of the monitor, both video and USB and none of them seem to influence this behaviour. [https://streamable.com/ts308d](https://streamable.com/ts308d) \- this is the clip of the phenomenon, it's mostly visible, while working in "dark" applications, on dark shades of gray, unfortunately I am the one that uses every possible app/website this way... On the video you see dark mode Facebook/Messaneger and dark mode Discord on the right. The video was made with a phone, but using manual mode with constant shutter speed and ISO, so no brightness variance in the clip itself. \- 0:09 - brightness goes up, 0:15 - brightness goes back down to original level \- 0:26 - brightness goes up, 0:32 - brightness goes back down to original level \- 0:57 - brightness goes up, 1:03 - brightness goes back down to original level \- 1:33 - brightness goes up, 1:43- brightness goes back down to original level If this is something that this model does, not a faulty unit, this is unacceptable. I will post when iiyama answers.

I was thinking about buying the new Red Eagle - GCB3484WQSU-B1, but because of the lack of reviews, it seemed like the older version: GCB3481WQSU-B1 was a safer choice. In the end I decided to go a level higher, and order the Gold Phoenix GCB3486WQSCP-B1. There is one in-depth review that I found. It's in Polish, but that shouldn't be a problem with browser auto-translation. IIyama 34" 2k Ultrawide CPU i-11600 32Gb RAM 3060Ti 8Gb Quality mid-low except distance on-foot, otherwise some exobio is not rendered. Framerate locked at 60fps. Looks really, really good after 24" FullHD. On-foot activity sometime freezes. Due to this, and due to the NMS is too heavy for 2k and my VC, and crashes when hitting Alt-Tab "Not enough video memory", upgrade is imminent,
