What about an Innocn 40C1U? 40" 5k x 2k IPS 100hz... for $600. [https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kXFCmG/innocn-40c1u-400-5120-x-2160-100-hz-monitor-40c1u](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kXFCmG/innocn-40c1u-400-5120-x-2160-100-hz-monitor-40c1u) A big problem with the recent IPS Black Dell monitors have been that their response times are *trash*. Like >25ms response times. Those are response times I haven't seen on monitors in 20 years outside of black transitions on cheap VA panels. The LG C5 will of course have much better black levels, as will the Dell (though not quite as extreme). But it's hard to argue with that price. IPS ultrawides have always been expensive, and they've unfortunately only gotten more expensive as OLED has mostly consumed ultrawide high refresh monitors. Sometime this year we should be seeing 39" 5k 2k RGB stripe OLED panels with significantly improved longevity and much brighter SDR capabilities. And those might end up being surprisingly inexpensive at least compared to the Dell Ultrasharp. But we're not there yet.
Just wanted to share my initial reaction to the new Innocn 40” 5K2K flat ultrawide. Set it up today and did some design work on it. I primarily do landscape design, graphic design, and modeling. I’m not a gamer nor a super techy person. Just someone who likes a bigger screen. Came from a 32” Samsung M7 which was not great lol. I wanted more screen real estate while keeping the height, which is important for working on large designs. This monitor seems to be ALMOST too big to be flat. I will need some more time with it but it feels on the edge of being too wide to not be curved. I noticed that having windows on either side just felt a little strange to look at (idk if that is just me getting used to the different angle or if it was a poor viewing angle). The picture quality at the edges is good, but I can tell I’m looking at it at a sharper angle. Text and image clarity is great, and colors are great. I didn’t find anything ddc controls on the monitor so my Logitech keyboard couldn’t natively control the brightness, only the volume? Not sure what that is about. I’m looking forward to using this more and seeing if I get used to the larger screen. Overall, I’m very excited and happy with it and think it’s a great monitor for the $750 I paid for it.
So for my work flow, the 32” allowed me to have one design program full screen (illustrator, rhino, sketchup, cad) and that was a perfect size. However, very often I needed to have an additional window open or two that I would be using as reference or something. On the 32” to make that reference window useful, the design program window became annoyingly small. Now I can have that large windows for everything lol hard to explain. It’s just more screen so better. The aggressive curve on most ultrawides messes with me on a lot of the drawing programs I use and the dell ultra wide has a very gentle curve which I was considering but is $2000. The Innocn 40” is on the cusp of being too big to be flat like I said but I really do think it’s a great size. Any bigger and it would be a problem. I suggest you buy and try it! The price is great still at $1000. As far as 100hz goes, It’s smoother for sure than the 60hz on the M7. I’m pretty sensitive to it so unnoticed a difference.
Honestly do yourself a favor and try this one out I really like it!
All ports are on the bottom
Check out the Innocn 40" 40C1U. I just finished setting it up and so far it pretty good so far. It's on sale for less than $700 currently. My use case was productivity as well and multitasking. I went from a 4k TCL TV to this the 40C1U and it's nice with the sharpness and clarity. Fingers crossed that it lasts.
I checked out some YouTube videos and a few posts here on Reddit so I was already watching it and when the price dropped for Black Friday, I purchased it. Honestly, I didn't notice the Samsung G7 was on sale for $700. But I was really looking for an IPS panel so I may have missed it since the Samsung is a VA panel. I don't play games so the IPS, to me, was the best option especially for text clarity. I really wanted the Dell U4025QW but missed the Dell Outlet refurbished deal and couldn't justify spending so much on it for a new one so I settled with the Innocn to save a few bucks. Day 2 of using it now, and I still think it's great! I have it paired with a Dell U2719DX in portrait and it looks good side by side.
I bought the 40" Innocn during Black Friday for $630 and it's nice! Way nicer than the 4k TCL TV I was using. For the price and my use use for work stuff, it's a perfect bang for the buck, as long as it lasts a few years. There's a handful of Reddit reviews and YouTube reviews. The YouTubers seemed to have received the monitor for free but generally seemed unbiased in the review. It was enough for me to pull the trigger and try it out.
Check out innocn 40” 5k2k IPs, dirt cheap compared to others which are double its price. I was surprised when a person in this sub posted about it. That may work well for work for half the price of the Dell or lg versions.
I know …. I hope a reviewer does a proper review on it but, they tend to not do reviews for not well known companies. If I didn’t have 3 34” ultrawides already….. I would be salivating for that monitor. Edit: who am I kidding. I want it still … haha. From a pc hog to a monitor hog.. how times change.
21:9? I recommend INNOCN all the time. Had my 40 inch almost 3 years now and it’s going strong.
It is the mag 40. Although the middle one is a INNOCN 40C1 Which I got for free from a shipping error. From what I can tell it is the same panel, with the exact same io and everything
