LG 34GN850-B would be/was my choice. Might be able to find one for a bit more than $300.
r/buildapc • Is the 5070 ti enough for ultra wide? ->Ha, I am on a LG 34GP83A-B since 2020. Sister monitor to yours. And yeah that just sounds like buggy firmware if it bugged out like that at lower refresh too.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 34'' 240 Hz OLED ultrawide to date? ->I am currently using a LG 34GN850-B which is 34" 1440p, 144hz. I would say a 37", 4k resolution, and 144+hz would be the sweet spot in 2025.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I was in the same boat and ordered both. Ive got the asus VG34VQL3A VA right in front of me playing RDR2 and a Dell Alienware AW3423DWF OLED watching Stream. My 34GN850P-B IPS will arive tomorrow. Already got one but it was DOA. I can tell you 2 things about the OLED and VA: 1. The VA has terrible VRR Flicker and I had to disable it because it gave me headaches. Bright areas always flicker regardless of FPS. It flickers with 40 and with 140. Common problem with this Panel but everything else is superb for VA. You have to sit straight in front of it for having its color shine bright. I like this one a lot but the VRR sucks ass. 2. The OLED has terrible fringing on text. Its barely noticable on white text with bright background but white text on black background is a pain to read. VRR flicker is not that bad and limited to grey-ish areas when running below 57fps. Will not keep it since the text fringing is driving me nuts. Feel free to AMA
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I need advice on choosing a 34” ultrawide monitor ->I got it this morning and so far I like this the most. The only downside is the IPS black which of course is even brighter than the VA Panel but it's really only noticable on completely black scenes. The colors are great, response time is awesome and somehow the real g-sync feels way smoother than FreeSync on the other displays. Text is perfectly fine to read and MUCH clearer than the OLED Display. The one display which arrived DOA had less backlight bleeding than the one I am using currently but again thats only visible in black scenes. I would not recommend this display if you are watching a lot of movies but all in all its the best of the three I tested for gaming combined with office use. I would have kept the VA if it hadn´t had the VRR flicker but the IPS is superior in this regard so I gotta go with the LG IPS
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I need advice on choosing a 34” ultrawide monitor ->I've been using the LG 34GP83A-B for four years which is a curved Nano IPS 34" 3440x1440 Ultrawide. It's been a solid display, but it's definitely outclassed by the newer OLED/QD-OLED panels if you're primarily gaming. It's still a wonderful productivity monitor, without the concern of burn-in.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] ASRock PHANTOM GAMING 34" 2K - $198.77 (47% off) ->I had a 60hz VA monitor, a LG34GN850 (IPS) and currently have a LG34GS95QE (WOLED), and I think that the biggest annoyances with VA and IPS are the black levels, in dark scenes it is pretty tough to see the details in the scene. IPS is much nicer to look at than VA imo, because of viewing angle and colour gamut. But since you are planning to use the monitor for coding and school, unless you’re purchasing an extended warranty that covers OLED burn in, stay away from OLED.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Deciding on a 34 inch ultrawide monitor ->Im using an LG 34GP83A-B with a gaming pc and a work laptop. Laptop is connected to a tb dock. No kvm but im using a usb switch and manually change the display input when i need to.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does the perfect Ultrawide monitor for productivity first and gaming second exist? ->In the end I opted for an used LG 34GN850 that I found for around 270$, seemed the safer option
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Z-Edge 34" Ultrawide monitor - Too good to be true? ->Alla fine ho trovato un LG 34GN850 usato su subito attorno ai 270 euro, ti consiglierei di andare sul sicuro anche andando sull'usato
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Z-Edge 34" Ultrawide monitor - Too good to be true? ->In the end I opted for an used LG 34GN850 that I found for around 270$, seemed the safer option
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Z-Edge 34" Ultrawide monitor - Too good to be true? ->34gn850. It’s currently on sale on Walmarts website for $399.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is there a current go-to recommendation ultrawide that's 34 inch, 140+hz, IPS, FreeSync, with ~1ms response time? ->I'm using this model since 2021 its been great.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is there a current go-to recommendation ultrawide that's 34 inch, 140+hz, IPS, FreeSync, with ~1ms response time? ->Not sure if the deal extends to Canada, but I just bought a 34gn850-b online from Walmart. It's a curved LG 34in nano ips 160hz 3440x1440 on sale for $399 usd. Shipping for me was free, and took 1 day.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Which budget 34" 144Hz QHD Ultrawide should I get? (KOORUI vs CRUA) ->For 1440p: LG UltraGear 34GN850P-B, 34“ For 1080p, this would be one example, but I wouldnt recommend that, the other would be netter in every way: MSI Optix MAG301RF DE, 29.5“ There are a couple options that are better but all of them Are above 500: GIGABYTE MO34WQC, 34“ Oled for 700 Lenovo Legion R45w-30, 44.5“ Super Ultrawide (32:9, 5120 x 1440) for 670
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Good 2K curve ultrawide monitor under 500$? ->I am currently using a LG UltraGear 34GN850-B and a LG C9 55" OLED TV. I have been switching between them for gameplay and watching movies and both do this fine but each of them has its own benefits. I've always thought about a sweet spot between those two and the LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9 45" looked like it! I have always been a fan of Ultrawide and even multi-monitor Eyefinity and nVidia Surround since 2009 and had such a setup until I got the 34" UltraGear 34GN850-B. When I want a bigger picture and OLED magnificence, I put the monitor aside and use the TV which is installed on the wall behind it in front of my desk and that is a big hassle but it is worth the effort all the time. I used to be a professional reviewer for GPUs specifically and also audio gear and other PC parts but don't recall reviewing a monitor. My GPU reviews even used to have multi-monitor benchmarks! The reviews were for the Arab region in the Middle East and were in Arabic but some parts are in English like charts. Here are 2 of them: [https://araboverclockers.net/hd6900-multi-gpu-scaling-performance-with-single-and-3-monitor-review/](https://araboverclockers.net/hd6900-multi-gpu-scaling-performance-with-single-and-3-monitor-review/) [https://araboverclockers.net/sapphire-hd-6870-dirt3-edition-review/](https://araboverclockers.net/sapphire-hd-6870-dirt3-edition-review/) I can write reviews in both English and in Arabic for Middle Eastern audience since I am a professional translator. Thanks!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->>I'm looking for a 34 inch ultrawide monitor preferably IPS, but I don't think those exist. They do. There are like 100 of them. You just have to Google it. The LG 34gn850-B is a very popular model. >all the budget 34 inches are 1440p, and I can't afford 4k Virtually all 34" monitors are 1440p. There are very very few 5k2k 34" monitors. Most 5k2k are 39/40/45". >so is 1440p good at this size? Again you could just Google "34" 3440x1440 PPI" and see it's 110. Which is a good number. The same as a 27" 1440p monitor. It's good. You won't notice any pixels from a normal distance
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Asking about pixel density on a 34 inch 1440p ultrawide. ->Fair enough. An IPS ultrawide seems like a fair choice. Something like the LG 34GP83A-B.
r/Monitors • 80% Office / 20% Gaming - should I get a 1440p/1600p Ultrawide, or one dedicated gaming 27" + a dedicated 27"/32" 4k office monitor? ->I guess there are no objective sweet spots, but it sure seems like a sweet spot for my setup and use cases. While I love my 34GN850-B, it still feels like it lacks screen space when working or watching movies. This monitor could easily replace two of my current setup. The only thing keeping me from byuing an OLED is the subpar text rendering which would impact my work, but I guess with this ppi this should not be a problem anymore. And the difference between my current 1800R and the new 800R is just mental.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I got the LG 34GN850P and I am happy as someone can be with IPS panel HDR is well, nice but I only ran it on NoMansSky yet under win10 Would have liked to have a full array local dimming mini LED monitor, tested a Flat one in this screenresolution and size, Picte was mindblowing, but the thickness of the display was huge and in combination with its stand I could not make it work on my desk.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best non-OLED ultrawide ->Just ordered the lg 34gn850. It doesn't have the productivity features but it has great gaming performance and brightness and it's fairly cheap at 500e. Without increasing the price I had to pick if I want more than 60hz and 1ms or usb c power delivery and kvm. I picked gaming performance.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does the perfect Ultrawide monitor for productivity first and gaming second exist? ->LG 34GN850-B (34" 3440x1440 144Hz G-Sync) with an EVGA 2060 Super XC Ultra. Pretty much only used for iRacing and ATS. It's a dedicated sim rig. I have a separate main gaming rig for playing everything else.
r/simracing • what ultrawide monitor do you use? ->I personally own an Ultrawide 34” LG 34GN850-B since 2021 and I love it. I would not be able to go back to standard screens and I enjoy the curve so much. I use it for playing and entertainment connected to my personal Windows PC, but I also use it connected to a MacBook for work. Due to Mac limitations having an Ultrawide is a productivity power up that more people should consider. For those reasons 330hz at 3440x1440p on anything between 34" and 40" can be the sweet spot, as it gives the perfect balance of comfort, but also view distance based on the "depth" of the desk. This 45" new screen with amazing specs can be overkill or not easy to enjoy because of the size and games' resolution, so I am curious to try it and see if it's a serious upgrade from my actual set up, or maybe too much for my desk and GPU.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I think this is it for me, chief. Decent price and I can grab the Best Buy warranty. I'm nervous about OLED but I really want a decent ultrawide after getting a taste with an LG 34GN850. I can't go back to 16:9.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] Alienware - AW3423DWF 34" QD-OLED Curved 165Hz .1-ms Ultrawide FreeSync Gaming Monitor - $649.99 (Best Buy) ->Yes, 34GP83A-B and probably any other monitor using the same panel
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is there a current go-to recommendation ultrawide that's 34 inch, 140+hz, IPS, FreeSync, with ~1ms response time? ->Right now I have the 34gn850, and since I started sim racing I feel like the 45 inch would really be the sweet spot. As far as refresh rate goes, at least 144hz, anything above that is just a bonus. 5k for a resolution seems to be the best as GPUs already struggle without DLSS/FSR. The new monitor seems great, and being oled should be incredible!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->Thank you for the update. I was also able to test both this and the LG 39 OLED over the weekend. I have been using the LG ultra gear ultrawide 34" IPS for the past 2 years and I have always loved LG products but Asus takes the cake here. The only downside on the Asus 39 OLED is the lack of HDR calibration even after the firmware update the colors look washed out a bit. I tried different online guides for color calibration but I haven't found the one that I would settle for. I will do more research on that once I have more time. Right now I'm rocking it on SDR Cinema Mode and Oh My! it looks amazing. I wish I had more space to do side by side comparison with the LG one but I found the Asus better in every aspect from build quality to image quality (even though the OLED on Asus is made by LG), for some reason text appear better on Asus, Built-in speakers, KVM switch, Aesthetics, better out of the box mode selects, more OLED care options, $250 cheaper, and last but not the least 3 year warranty instead of 2 from LG. At $750 its a steal if you ask me. Unfortunately, my LG monitor arrived with a red tint on right side of the screen. Basically it was an WOLED defect. Not counting this in the comparison of course but just something to note that this can also happen.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Bought a ASUS ROG Swift 39 (PG39WCDM). Should I be concerned? ->I absolutely love my curved 34" ultrawide. I had a 60 Hz LG for about six or seven years, recently upgraded to basically the same one but the new one can go up to 160Hz. I can't imagine gaming with anything less anymore. My old one started to get a bunch of stale pixels which was really annoying when it is nighttime in the game.
r/farmingsimulator • Ultrawide monitors and FS ->Love to hear what people experience with Text Christmas on these monitors. I have an LG 34 inch curved monitor and the text is not very crisp and I find it distracting. Anybody able to compare it to a max studio display or one of the other similar ones that have 220 dpi
r/MacOS • An ultrawide curved monitor suitable for a Mac – does this exist at all? ->I just started playing yesterday but the game feels amazing in an ultrawide screen. Honestly, I can't imagine going back to a regular monitor either for gaming or regular use. I have an LG Ultragear 34'', which is 21:9 and it's perfect as far as size goes.
r/starcitizen • Ultrawide screen for SC, any recommendations? ->Can confirm as I have the same monitor!
r/starcitizen • Ultrawide screen for SC, any recommendations? ->Both. Ultra-wide 34" curved in the center; 27" vertical on left for email, Teams chat, windows explorer, etc.; 24" landscape upper right; laptop lower right.
r/excel • Two monitors or ultrawide? What is everyone using? ->LG 34 inch ultra wide. Dell 4k 27 inch portrait positioning. PowerToys is your friend! Easiest multi monitor management system I've ever used.
r/remotework • Ultrawide, 6K, or OLED? What’s Your Ultimate Monitor Right Now? ->And still with 21: 9, two pages of almost anything fit quite nicely side by side... I've been using a LG 34 inch ultra wide for 5 years and it's been great. Three pages side by side no problem if some of them can be squished a little bit. I'm now upgrading to a 40 inch ultrawide and hoping to fit up to four pages side by side if a little squished some of them...
r/ultrawidemasterrace • How big of a monitor do I need to replace a dual screen setup? And what’s the most budget option ->I have a 34inch ultra wide from LG. I don't do this but I did test it out. From my one 14inch MacBook pro I connected to my monitor using their thunderbolt type c connection, giving power to the laptop and display to the monitor. I then connected the HDMI from monitor to laptop. My monitor has the ability to display both inputs at once in a split mode and the MacBook thinks of it as two displays. Pretty neat
r/macmini • Dual computer monitor recommendations with this Mac mini? Do a little bit of school and office work. ->I use Better Display ([link](https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay)) on a 34" LG Ultrawide and unlocks a bunch of HiDPI scaled resolutions. Quality is excellent. What I'm not sure about is what spec you need to check for compatibility. For example, when I connect via HDMI I have a way smaller list of available resolutions than when I connect with USB-C.
r/MacOS • 40” 21:9 ultrawide for MacBook (M2).. any good options? ->I am already blown away by the lg ultragear 3440x1440 that I got last year because of the immersion . Since then I don't use anymore my 4k 65 lg oled for gaming. So I really think 5k 45 inches is the sweet spot for gaming. I can't wait too see the 5k2k 45 inches and share this great moment with others. De plus je serai en mesure de faire le test non seulement en englais mais aussi en français! 👍
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I use a cheaper end LG 3440x1440 monitor connected to a 2019 MBP as my daily driver. Zero issues at all, no blurry text
r/mac • An ultrawide curved monitor suitable for a Mac – does this exist at all? ->I miss mine, to an extent. The second they release this monitor with a 1000r curve screen I'm ditching my LG ultragear 21:9 for it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Samsung G9 49” OLED 144Hz ->Been an avid 21:9 user for like 4yrs and can't go back, only drawback is that I'm still in the OG 3440x1440 group and want a bit more crispiness to the text (OLED) and a smidge more screen real-estate. So far I've had the LG UltraGear, the Alienware one, then the Samsung G8 (current). Been eyeing a 5k 2k for a long time and curious to hear other reviews (if I get sent one LG, I will deep dive so hard into the things that I look for in a panel so be warned lol). OLED brightness, HDR, VRR, color banding are things that are very important to nail so praying ya'll nailed it. I used a Dell 32:9 (forget the model) and returned it within a week. Tried to make it work, but didn't like that it's a huge performance hit for the added peripheral you technically never use and for normal day to day, hurts my neck moving windows around. And thats before I get into getting games to do 32:9 was a nightmare vs 21:9. So sweet spot if you're a gamer imho is 21:9 -- perfect FOV to performance for modern mid-high end+ GPU's.
