Tbh I've looked at both of these before. The LG 34g630a-b gives you that ultrawide experience which is great for immersive games, but the Lenovo Legion R45w-30 has a higher refresh rate at 240Hz if you play competitive shooters. For the price difference, i'd probably lean toward the Lenovo since the extra refresh rate matters more for gaming than the ultrawide format. Both are solid choices though - check if either has local dimming or better color accuracy if that matters to you.
# 34G630A is quite good, # 1. WQHD 240Hz with PXP/KVM function # 2. Good calibration, deltaE<2, actually <1 normally # 3. HDR400 and Freesync Premium Good for both office and gaming
Personally if it were me choosing between these 3 options, I'd go with the LG. I've had great personal experience with their displays, it has a higher refresh rate (although you realistically won't hit 240 in most games at 3440x1440), HDMI 2.1 and type c on top of the USB hub (although 15w of power delivery won't be very good for anything other than phones.) None of these options, or any others in this price range, are going to offer a great experience with HDR, so even though they're technically certified for it, don't expect much or make your purchasing decision based on it.
If your budget can stretch a little further, you may want to consider the LG UltraGear 34G630A-B. I've been using mine for a week (80% work and 20% gaming) and it's good for the price. The PbP mode has been impressive.
I use the LG ultragear 34". I'm not sure if it's the exact same model that you say is not in stock. It's the best monitor Ive I've had though, so I'd say it's worth doing some digging. I tried some VA panels, and they had the dreaded VRR/AdaptiveSync flicker issue that so many get. I've heard OLEDs get them too. I'd never go back to gaming without VRR, especially at high refresh rates. The one I returned before getting the LG even flickered on the desktop sometimes. IPS hardly ever has that issue.
Both. Ultra-wide 34" curved in the center; 27" vertical on left for email, Teams chat, windows explorer, etc.; 24" landscape upper right; laptop lower right.
Just bought the LG one last week. Happy with the purchase.
I just bought the LG OLED 5K2K 45” ultrawide. I think there’s a 34” version? My last LG 34” 1440p ultrawide was great too. My last 4 monitors have been LG and they’ve been great.
I went with a 34 1440p over the 32 4k. I had this exact dilemma and got the 32 4k first 240hz. My graphic card was 4090 and it looked great but fps was under 100 all the time. Switched to the 1440p 34 240hz and absolute love the switch. I get like 160hz+ and it’s so smooth and beautiful when playing cod and Diablo
I have neither of those monitors. I use a old LG 3440x1440 34". That only has 108ppi resolution while the mentioned 5k2k displays have 140ppi. However, MacOS has scaling problems with everything that is not "retina" resolution, so everything below ~200ppi. I find the text to be a bit blurrier on non-Apple displays compared to Windows. But you get used to it. Also the built-in window management is complicated, sluggish and not really suitable for ultrawide monitors, you'll want additional software like Better Touch Tool or Rectangle.
