Hey y'all. I recently bought two monitors from Costco: LG 34SR65QC-B 34" 100Hz Curved Ultrawide WQHD MyView Smart Monitor (3440 x 1440) 5ms resp [https://www.costco.com/lg-34-curved-ultrawide-wqhd-myview-smart-monitor---3440-x-1440.product.4000287892.html](https://www.costco.com/lg-34-curved-ultrawide-wqhd-myview-smart-monitor---3440-x-1440.product.4000287892.html) Acer EDA343CUR Nitro 34" 165Hz Curved Ultrawide UWQHD Gaming Monitor (3440 x 1440) 1ms resp [https://www.costco.com/acer-nitro-34-class-uwqhd-curved-gaming-monitor.product.4000157379.html](https://www.costco.com/acer-nitro-34-class-uwqhd-curved-gaming-monitor.product.4000157379.html) Bought from Costco for their return policy since I just moved and wanted to try an ultrawide for the first time. Coming from two IPS 60hz monitors btw, not a competitive player so high refresh rate and low response time are extras for me I got the LG monitor a few months back and doing some research, it seems to be a new model. Has a TON of bells and whistles that I don't care for (built-in wifi, Airplay, Netflix, D+, comes with a remote, etc.) but this also my first VA and ultrawide panel so took it at face value. Has a ton of display settings making it super customizable, display looks amazing. biggest difference I noticed from my IPS was the viewing angle. with the curve and different panel type, there is some slight color distortion at the edges to the point where I rub my eye thinking I have something inside it... but its just the panel lmao. I'll come back to this. With the 90 day return policy coming up, I saw Costco was doing a sale on the Acer 165hz ultrawide. Figured it's cheaper and if I like the new one, I can return the LG. few days goes by, Acer arrives, and I set it up. Instantly the first thing I notice is the panel quality. at first, I thought it I needed to play with the settings like I did with the LG but after a week of use, I still find myself changing the display settings. the panel looks super washed out compared to the LG, the smearing is atrocious, and the settings panel (specifically, the 6-axis saturation section) never seems to save my settings. upsides are definitely the higher refresh rate, more gaming settings (refresh rate counter, crosshair, FreeSync) and the RGB strip on the back. putting the monitors side by side and playing some games, the LG monitor instantly has a more enjoyable gaming experience and day-to-day use browsing through Reddit or Discord in dark mode with virtually no smearing compared to the Acer. I would even go as far to say that it is comparable to my IPS panel in terms of color, but with much better contrast. happy to answer questions for anyone thats curious on picking these up. In general, what spec makes the LG display look "better" than the Acer in terms of color? the LG has a white balance option separate from contrast which I find myself using a lot, but obviously "good" is relative so maybe y'all can help. do VA panels usually look washed out?
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Comparing Two VA Ultrawides from Costco ->Acer was much better stats and enjoyable for gaming. I’ve owned a LG one before and it’s p sensitive (light tap made it break) Acer was a crazy cheap deal also! In house warehouse
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Comparing Two VA Ultrawides from Costco ->Both. Ultra-wide 34" curved in the center; 27" vertical on left for email, Teams chat, windows explorer, etc.; 24" landscape upper right; laptop lower right.
r/excel • Two monitors or ultrawide? What is everyone using? ->LG 34 inch ultra wide. Dell 4k 27 inch portrait positioning. PowerToys is your friend! Easiest multi monitor management system I've ever used.
r/remotework • Ultrawide, 6K, or OLED? What’s Your Ultimate Monitor Right Now? ->And still with 21: 9, two pages of almost anything fit quite nicely side by side... I've been using a LG 34 inch ultra wide for 5 years and it's been great. Three pages side by side no problem if some of them can be squished a little bit. I'm now upgrading to a 40 inch ultrawide and hoping to fit up to four pages side by side if a little squished some of them...
r/ultrawidemasterrace • How big of a monitor do I need to replace a dual screen setup? And what’s the most budget option ->I have a 34inch ultra wide from LG. I don't do this but I did test it out. From my one 14inch MacBook pro I connected to my monitor using their thunderbolt type c connection, giving power to the laptop and display to the monitor. I then connected the HDMI from monitor to laptop. My monitor has the ability to display both inputs at once in a split mode and the MacBook thinks of it as two displays. Pretty neat
r/macmini • Dual computer monitor recommendations with this Mac mini? Do a little bit of school and office work. ->I use Better Display ([link](https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay)) on a 34" LG Ultrawide and unlocks a bunch of HiDPI scaled resolutions. Quality is excellent. What I'm not sure about is what spec you need to check for compatibility. For example, when I connect via HDMI I have a way smaller list of available resolutions than when I connect with USB-C.
r/MacOS • 40” 21:9 ultrawide for MacBook (M2).. any good options? ->I use a cheaper end LG 3440x1440 monitor connected to a 2019 MBP as my daily driver. Zero issues at all, no blurry text
r/mac • An ultrawide curved monitor suitable for a Mac – does this exist at all? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
