I just bought a new monitor myself. Going from my 34" 2560x1080 Ultrawide that I've had since 2017. Going to a flat 42" 144hz LG C4 OLED TV, It's actually wonderful. using this size I can use a custom resolution at 3840x1600 to get a 38" Ultrawide experience, although It's with black bars on top and bottom, but I don't really mind because of the OLED. I most definitely feel more immersed in this TV than I ever felt using my 34" ultrawide. I think 34" is missing a bit of height to be perfect. I kind of want to replay a lot of my games now with this monitor, the worst part of my new monitor is my 3070 graphics card, it's kind of limiting at the moment. The screen is blank rather than matte, which could be a dealbreaker for some people, but I kind of love it. Doesn't bother me at all, the way I'm using my setup, there's no Windows nearby. Another thing that could be limiting to some people is the lack of USB-C connectivity, to easily connect a laptop. Personally It's really the best of both worlds. It's a really nice size for productivity too. The 16:9 aspect ratio is also a very nice to have when watching YouTube videos and Movies. I know people always say that 21:9 is the default or perfect movie aspect ratio, but I have never noticed that in practice. from my experiences most services and movies use the default 16:9 TV aspect ratios.

Using an LG ultrawide, prolly the 34" 1080p 75hz version. It costed me around 13k 3 years ago when I bought it and I would say it's much better than those Xinese monitors that will breakdown after a year or later. I would rather not buy to those "specs" for cheap if it will be scrapped earlier.

Do you still have it and do you still like it? I have a 34 inch lg ultrawide 21:9 2560x1080p and am looking at this model right now. The PPI don't bother me on mine right now so I assume this one would not bother me either. Woud love to have a bigger screen and I really think oled is like the best Imo. Hard time getting out of the ultrawide, tho in hesitating with this and maybe a 48 inch 16:9 4k. Thanks

Here with a 21:9 IPS LG, 2560x1080. 34 inch is perfect for that resolution. Great for gaming, but some games are locked at 16:9 For work and Adobe, superb

Lg 34 and 38 ultrawides still have one of the best IPS panels up to date for general multi purpose use. I have had LG 38 IPS for few years now and I will upgrade to LG 39 oled 5k2k eventually.

If you get the 34" IPS LG, it's produced a good picture so far.

I still have a 34" LG IPS monitor, it's a good piece of equipment, and until I find the right OLED...πŸ‘Œ

I wanted to get it - I stuck with the 34" IPS LG. But the resolution on this and the 38" screen size was super appealing.

Same exact scenario, used a 34” LG for 10 years, bought the 5K2K the second it went live. Absolutely love it, so immersive at my sitting distance, id never go smaller at this point.
