I like my new 39" UW over my 32", but it's not all about pure size. The refresh rate is better and it's OLED. It's also lower resolution, so there are trade-offs. Deco Gear makes a 40" 4K UW, but it's only 60 or 75 hz. There aren't really any UWs bigger than 34" that are budget-friendly, so if cost is an issue you might just wanna go with a 34" UW to give yourself a ton more buying options.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What size of ultra wide monitor do you need to be the same height or very close to a 32 inch monitor? ->I had an LG 32UN500-W and replaced it with an LG 39GS96QB-B.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What size of ultra wide monitor do you need to be the same height or very close to a 32 inch monitor? ->my current desk is 55.1" x 23.6", a bit off from your dimensions i used to run dual 32" for content consumption and gaming(both console and PC), i did run dual monitor arms for the displays and to me it didn't feel like they both were too wide for my desk with them going over a bit on each side. gaming and web browsing were the priority for that setup. next setup was with an 49" Samsung(for gaming and productivity), the dual 32s' mounted to the wall atop the 49" were for things like discord, emails and web browsing. though i enjoyed all the screen real estate, it didn't last long and thoughts of sizing down became paramount. i thought "how about" an single 34" but having 32" displays it didn't feel right, then i thought 45" LG Ultragear OLED but after owning the 49" (to me) that was still a tad bit wide for what i wanted. i ended up with an newly purchased(earlier this month) 39" LG Ultragear OLED. FOR ME it checks all the things i was looking for as far as size, specs and use. I use it for photo/video editing via my new mac mini m4 and def for FPS gaming(again console and PC). HDR when gaming has been an eye opener and game changer on this display. in my opinion, the 39" compliments MY desk's dimensions. On an monitor arm and positioned directly in the middle of the desk at arms length. haha, sorry for the looong read. good luck with whatever you decide.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best size ultra-wide monitor for a 48” x 30” desk (Work and gaming)? ->I had a LCD Alienware 4k 38". I decided to go down to 2k with the LG 39 OLED and I love it. I will mever go back down the size of a monitot noe, the nrxt shpuld be 45" which I believr is the sweet spot for my gaming. Ngl you are gonna like itz and text is easily readable
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG UltraGear 39 vs 34?! ->For immersion in adventure games or racing get the 39. If PPI matters get the 34. What made me return the 39 and get the 34 was the fringing and how everything looks stretched. In competitive games you will noticed a bunch of artifacts, jagged edges, and text fringing. Dota 2 for example, after a match I was so exhausted that I couldn't even look at the screen anymore. Same for Age of Empires.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG UltraGear 39 vs 34?! ->I have the 39" LG oled and the 38" lg IPS display that is 3840x1600. For games, the benefits of oled and a higher refresh rate far outweigh the smaller resolution of the 39. I love it and will never go back. Another advantage is that for fps games, 3440x1440 is much easier to drive to high refresh rates. My 3090 was hovering around 110 in CoD MW3, and is significantly better than that around 160+ I may still play Civilization on my 38", but for everything else, 39" is great!!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 39 inch ->If you can get the older 39" without the smart features at a good discount, and have a newer nvidia GPU and run dldsr, you can run 5120x2160 on the 1440p model.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buy the 39 lg ultragear 1440p or wait for 39 lg ultragear 5k2k?? ->I have a 39" LG W-OLED 240Hz and I love it, if they had the 45" in stock at the time I would have taken it.
r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->Currently rocking the 39“ 1440p ultrawide lg and LOVING it! Wasn’t sure about upgrading to the 5k2k yet, but i’d love to give it a try!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->u could look at the lg 39“ ultrawide, not sure if that has the same panel.
r/OLED_Gaming • Best 21:9 OLED Monitor? ->i have that one, can highly recommend! https://preview.redd.it/e8688fr0y0le1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bee9963ec9452e2fa197e877186ef5200bffe596
r/OLED_Gaming • Best 21:9 OLED Monitor? ->I have the LG 39" 3440x1440 240hz Monitor and think 39" or 45" is the sweetspot, but i only tried 39".
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I have the 39in LG OLED and it’s great. Not overwhelmingly big like the 45in LG or G9 Samsung but definitely more immersive than a 34in especially with the aggressive 800R curve. In case MATTE or GLOSSY makes a difference , for the LG’s 34,39 & 45 are MATTE. It’s been a great monitor for me. My only complaint is the PPI , at this size at 1440pm in some games like RDR2 it’s a little noticeable.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 39 inch ->I've got an LG 39" 3440x1440 monitor now. I've been contemplating getting that around black Friday when there are sales at my local microcenter
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Everyone told me that going for a super-ultrawide is too much, I beg a differ. ->I got mine Friday to replace my 39" 3440x1440 Ultragear and I have zero regrets. It's incredible and makes for the best gaming experience I've had hands down.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Pulled the trigger on the LG 5k2k 45GX950A ->I'm using the LG 39" OLED. I was very hesitant with an 800R curve and matte finish, but this may very well be the best monitor I have ever used... however... I was getting headaches/eyestrain from it when I first bought it (coming from LG Nano IPS which was about perfect, but 27" was too small). I adjusted the colors/warmth and haven't had any issues. Have you attempted to change your settings with your current monitor to alleviate your headaches?
r/ultrawidemasterrace • (please don't laugh) matte finish 21:9 recommendations? ->I went through the same path like you. I have 35 inch VA panel curved monitor and wanted switch to OLED, I bought the 39 inch version of that LG you mentioned. Text ghosting was horrible. I put my eye on LG 42 inch C4 but I read many bad reviews about the flicker issue. Now waiting for the discount for LG 45 5120x2160 monitor
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG C5 42" used as a 21:9 display; My Impressions. ->I've only been looking into WOLEDs but found that they also covered planned QDs at around 16 minutes in [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjCQzKwgBow](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjCQzKwgBow) They have a less aggressive curve at 1800R Currently have an 1800R VA panel myself and it's great for media, productivity and gaming. I just haven't seen any mentioned in the 39" size for your height preference. LG does have a 39" currently but its 3440 x 1440. Similar to running 1440p monitor on 32" screen. Not sure if PPI is a dealbreaker as well. Here's the WOLED roadmap for comparison, has past and present models at about 19:40 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyYRevThUUw&t=1061s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyYRevThUUw&t=1061s) As for more curve talk, I'm still hesitant about the 800R curve from looking at pictures from above, but most people say it's great for 39" and higher models and you get used to it for gaming. My initial ideal monitor was WOLED 34" but with a less aggressive curve, but that's not in LGs roadmap for the next 2 years so I'm just going to give 800R a try. Saw one in person at a BestBuy with a game demo running. I thought it was fine for gaming, but don't know how it'll feel for movies or productivity, so my plan is keep my VA for productivity and WOLED for gaming. So that's the current market for 21:9 ultrawides 34" QD OLEDs at 3440x1440 now in 240hz (109 ppi) 39" LG WOLEDs at 3440x1440 now in 240hz (95 ppi) 39" LG WOLEDs at 5120x2160 late this year (142 ppi) I also haven't kept up as much with OLEDs so theres a chance a 39" QD may have been announced at CES
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What size of ultra wide monitor do you need to be the same height or very close to a 32 inch monitor? ->highly recommend LG Oled ultrawide series, I have the 39” GS
r/askSingapore • Recommendation for ultrawide oled monitor in singapore? ->I have both - Alienware 34 and LG 39 GS. For simracing LG with 800r curve is defintely the best. 39inch gives a bit wider fov too.
r/simracing • 1440p OLED ultrawide recommendations? ->I love mine, performs fairly well with my 4070 at 5K2K on esports games which was better than I was expecting. I do wish it had the TVapps and smart features so I could have the best of both worlds. I previously had the 39in LG UltraGear for about a month and it had all these cool ai enhancements for the audio which made the built in speakers perform really well which was sweet. Given that the 5K2K is mainly gaming focused though, it does make sense why they didn’t put those features but would’ve made me feel like I got more for the money.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Let’s talk LG 5K2K OLED ->Yea the 39 also came with a remote, that’s such a underrated feature imo. I loved the remote.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Let’s talk LG 5K2K OLED ->Take the 39". Its height will be like the 42" LG C4, but with an 800R curvature radius. It's awesome for gaming!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG UltraGear 39 vs 34?! ->I was really mistaken. This is if a 42" TV in 21:9 emulation mode will correspond to a 39" monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG UltraGear 39 vs 34?! ->Guess there is hype because it's new. I just got a 39" LG and love it. perfect for what I need. I don't think my 3090 could make a 5k2k work.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What’s with the 5K2K hype? ->I have one and for my limited gamespace it’s doing great. I moved up from a 60hz 34in ultrawide so the 2x framerate was a major plus. Very sharp, great color gamut. The 800mm radius of the monitor is wide enough that the sides feel like they wrap around you. I get a tiny little flicker on 30 or 60fps menu screens, but it’s normal for OLED screens when you’re running Gsync. Barely noticeable in any case, and in-game that isn’t a factor.
r/simracing • Anyone else using the LG 39” ultrawide OLED 240hz ultragear monitor? ->I have a 4k lg b2, oled and 120hz. I also have a a 3440p 39” 240hz oled LG monitor. Cinematic controller games where I’m laying back? The tv. Any multiplayer fps or RTS or any mouse based games or tasks? The ultrawide.
r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->Nope. For 39" OLED there's only the 3440x1440p or 5k2k
r/ultrawidemasterrace • You guys are savages ->I'm looking forward to it. I bought an open box 39 inch LG ultrawide, but unfortunately, the monitor was messed up. That turned out to be a good thing, though, because then I saw the asus pg39wcdm on sale brand new for the same price lol so I went with that instead. Hopefully It arrives next week.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG's New GX9 Monitor is INSANE ->My stepdad has the non-oled. It's a lovely monitor, but not for everyone. When I got my oled, I decided against this one, because I prefer 21:9 ratio over 32:9. So got an lg oled 39 inch one. I enjoy more physical height over width.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does anyone have this monitor and recommend it? ->I have a setup close to your #1option, but i have two stacked monitors and a vertical to the right. While working from home 5 days a week, I've used my Dell Alienware AW3423DWF as a main monitor for 2 years and have no issues. There's a feature to have pixel shift done while the monitor is on to help mitigate potential pixel burn-in. And also, since I was used 2nd monitor stacked on top, I would keep all desktop icons on that screen and I would have Outlook and web browser opened majority of the day in one spot on that 2nd screen too. Excel and and other windows from another program I would have e opened on my OLED, but I would be closing and reopening windows like every 15 - 25 minutes. And the taskbar I would keep on autohide and my wallpaper is set to all black. All of this I do because I would be working on the monitor for up anywhere from 4 to 6 hours straight. Within that time I take a break no matter what, and I would power the OLED off and it'll start doing its pixel refresh (this is different from pixel shift). After 3 years, no issues at all and I'm still using the monitor, but now as my vertical screen. I hardly have anything on it amd just use it if I need documents opened in long form. I got a LG 39"OLED last year and that is my main monitor and I did the same with that as I did with the Alienware. After a year so far, no issues. The only difference though, if I get up to leave for a long break, I don't power the monitor off manually, I just sure any application window on that screen is closed or minimized before walking away. The monitor itself will shutdown in a power save mode once the laptop goes to sleep state or if no screen activity detected in like 10 min. The pixel refresh starts when monitor shutdowns in power save mode. In OSD, you can set the pixel refresh to happen in 4hrs, 6hrs, or 8hrs - message will pop-up to warn you that a pixel refresh will happen soon when it gets down to 5 mins before it hit the hour mark of the selected. The timer for this starts from the time the monitor is powered on. A refresh is done typically ever time the monitor is powered off or go into power save mode. If after an hour passes, and you manually power the monitor or let it shutdown on its own, the pixel refresh will auto start. 6 or 8 minutes it takes for it to be done. You power it back on after that, the that timer will start over again. If you power the monitor off and then right back on, then the timer will start back where left off. As long you utilize the pixel shifter and pixel refresher features, you'll be fine. On weekends or off days I do game on the monitor. I might average 4 - 5 hrs here and there. On my PC, it's not setup like my work laptop, meaning, I have a custom wallpaper and don't use the autohide on my taskbar. Lol.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Multiple monitor upgrade to a wide setup (info in comment) ->I had that exact 39" monitor before getting the c4. There's obviously pros and cons for both. For my specific use, the c4 42" is more versatile. The current 39" doesn't quite seem ready to be a monitor worth it's price. it suffers from low ppi and very noticeable text fringing. If you strictly play games that support 21:9 then the 39 would be worth it. As the text fringing and low ppi is less noticeable if you're not used to 4k. The curve is incredible for immersive gameplay. I do a lot of web browsing and watch a lot of content on YouTube so the 21:9 ratio with black bars was annoying and the text when browsing was readable but not ideal. The 4k resolution with glossy display blows it out of the water for most uses. Either way you'll be blown away from oled vs the ips display you currently have. It's a real problem because you will never want anything else and your wallet will suffer everytime you upgrade. Also consider if your gpu can't drive 4k above 60hz then the c4 isn't worth it as your only other choice would be 1080p.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG C4 is the ultimate ultrawide ->Having tested a lot of monitors and varying monitor sizes I think 39-45" curved is ideal for 21:9 with the right setup, though I know some will argue 34"/flat since a lot of people don't like going above 27" for 16:9. Using an LG 39" as we speak. Would love to test the GX9!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I just bought the only 39 inch UW OLED 240hz LG ultragear. Cannot wait for it to arrive
r/simracing • 34" or 49" Ultrawide for Sim Racing? ->Have the 39 inch LG oled ultrawide and a 42 inch lg c2 and I much prefer to play on the ultrawide with more frames
r/OLED_Gaming • Ultra wide 1440p or flat 4k? ->39-in LG Ultragear at Costco is currently $550. You don't need a membership to buy it online and have it shipped to your house. It is a WQHD monitor with an 800R curve, so it's not going to be for everybody. I just ordered one. Normally these things are about $1,000.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 21:9 OLED Monitor Recommendations ->I went from G9 VA version to LG ultragear 39 oled To 2 alienware 34 oled vertically mounted then put them side by side Then got an awesome deal during prime day 480$ for G9 oled version, I've seen the 57 for 1k$ but that's double the price. So the LG and Alienware were matte screens and this G9 oled was the glossy and it blew me away for color. The 57 is the same tech as my old G9 qd mini led VA panel I believe? Color and response time trade off for more vertical screen space is kinda tempting because my old G9 had great color but I don't know if I would want to go back to it now that I've had oled for last few months, also my monitor lives under a hutch and fits nicely the 57 would be extra big but you clearly got room for that. Recommend getting 57 using it and then selling the one you don't like, and post back what you think is better for you
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Just bought the 49" G9 OLED. Having some serious buyer remorse. ->not sure about Dell but I use LG 39", I don't see any fringe issues when I scale the text up.. it is prominent if you keep the native scaling but everything would be too small on a large screen! I doubt if anyone would be comfortable with such small text!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG stopped making 34" Ultrawide IPS gaming monitors? ->I bought a LG 39" ultragear in December 24 and bave no complaints. Wonderful picture even at 3440x1440. I find it gives the best of both worlds. You get the OLED picture quality without taxing your rig too much since its still at 3440x1400. Gonna cost ya about a grand.
r/pcmasterrace • Best Gaming Monitor to Buy Right Now? ->I love my lg ultragear 3440x1440 39 inches oled.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Which Ultra Wide Oled Monitor Is The Best For Gaming? ->21:9 - it changed my perspective on everything. I got a 39" UWQHD 240Hz OLED monitor half a year ago (+ 2x32" WQHD with the same height) , and I should have switched much earlier. The PPI is perfectly acceptable while still delivering capped FPS in most games. 9 out of 10 games support ultrawide without any issues. For the remaining ones, there's usually a patch or fix available. If no solution exists, I skip the game, request a refund, and leave a negative review. I expected compatibility to be much more problematic. (And it's a pretty nice FoV "cheat" for some of my favorite games: Rust, Overwatch, GTA, WoW, Path of Exile, ...)
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->I have the same 39" and I concur with everything stated here. I wouldn't go bigger than this at this resolution. The text when working is borderline.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • PPI really that bad 45 inch 1440p? ->I have and love the 39"
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG UltraGear 39 vs 34?! ->I had an ultrawide years ago and went from that 2560x1080 display to a 2560x1440 monitor when I got my current OLED main. I would definitely like to go back to 21:9 with the benefits of OLED, specifically I was looking at the 39 inch LG OLED.
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->39, it's as close to a 32 form factor in 21:9, can be a companion monitor to a 32 34 too small imo came from 4k on 28 went to 39 LG until the 5k2k arrive
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What 5k2k monitor size would you choose and why? 45”, 39” or 34” ->I literally own a $250 144hz (-actually goes higher) monitor I bought in December. Deco Gear 34” I later made that one my work one and bought a 39” OLED LG for way too much lol ($1k). I don’t regret it, I’m just cheap.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Looking to upgrade my current dual monitor setup to 34" ultrawide. ->Been gaming on a 120hz, 4k 48 inch LG OLED TV, recently picked up a 240hz 1440p LG 39 inch ultrawide OLED. I was surprised by how much I noticed the drop in resolution, and I didn’t really feel the increase in refresh rate or FOV justified the drop in clarity. Good for competitive shooters, but not much else imo
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ? ->I bought the 39" OLED Ultragear version at 3440x1440p and I love it. I am coming from a 27" IPS monitor which I also loved but the OLED colors... just wow. Once you calibrate everything to your taste I absolutely recommend it. I am running the 1440p version with an RTX 4070 and everything is gravy. No need to upgrade my pc and yet I have a brand new toy at my disposal. Let me tell you the 39" widescreen version is big enough. I cannot imagine a 45" with the 1440p it would really pronounce the pixels. The 39" version is as tall as any 27" but obviously wider. The pixels look normal, as in, the text looks fine and at times the monitor can almost look 4k. I highly suggest the 39" wide screen version.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • PPI really that bad 45 inch 1440p? ->I am rocking the LG Ultragear 39" at 1440p and I love it. I think it is the true sweet spot for size and comfort.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Just bought the 49" G9 OLED. Having some serious buyer remorse. ->I think so but it does depend on the person. You have to understand… initial LCDs were… low res. When higher res screens came out and Apple started to use the higher res screens, it was like night and day. The text becomes much cleaner and clear. The images look much better. Now the 39” screen should be a good screen so there won’t be such a huge difference from the 34”. But.. the difference is there. It’s just not big so some may not even notice it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG UltraGear 39 vs 34?! ->Nope, nothing other than a few hundred price when on sale. I got my 45" on sale for $1200, the 39" was on sale for $999.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best ultrawide? ->Used primarily for gaming, I had 2x 24" 1440p monitors and later switched to a cheap 34" 3440x1440 (VA), and then about five years after that went to a 39" 3440x1440 (OLED). I don't think I can ever go back from an ultrawide for gaming. It's so good, imo.
r/buildapc • 27" Dual Monitors or 34" Ultrawide? ->Look for a 39’ or 45’ LG monitor, the vertical height helps so much. Those 34 and 49 monitors feel like peeking out of a tank visor
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Should I go 49" OLED for gaming or stick to 34"? ->I have a 4080 super and a 7800X3D, I went for the 1440p version and it’s amazing for gaming. Productivity meh. But I have another set of 2x27’ for that. I didn’t want to kill my performances and I am very happy ! In game it’s incredible
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buy the 39 lg ultragear 1440p or wait for 39 lg ultragear 5k2k?? ->My hot take: Best size is either 39" or 45" depending on available desk space. Any smaller doesn't make sense for Ultrawide, especially with an 800R curve, which is excellent as long as the panel is big enough. Ideally, there would be a pixel perfect scaling mode instead of what I've heard is implemented on the current LG ultra wide panels (when using Dual Mode). Even better would be a dual mode that switched between 5k2k and 1440p, I think 1080p is waaaay too low PPI for a 45" panel, but I could be wrong. I currently use a 39" LG Ultrawide 1440p panel and it's just good enough to not bother me, I couldn't imagine going to a LOWER resolution on a LARGER panel. And please, start introducing full featured built in KVM's with 4 USB accessory ports, I think a large portion of your consumer market would find that more useful than built in speakers (if somebody is spending $2000 on a 5k2k monitor that requires a high end GPU, they \*probably\* have a speaker or heaphone solution already they prefer). Additionally, at that price point, a lot of buyers (like myself) would want the KVM because I'm also using this for work and need to connect my laptop.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->5k2k will make 39” and 45” UW panels much clearer. I have a 39” 3440x1440 LG UW and love it, but can’t deny the PPI is a bit on the low side. 5k2k will fix that.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What’s with the 5K2K hype? ->I've had two diff 34" ultrawides since 2015. Samsung 60hz VA then Alienware 120hz IPS. I recently switched to a 240hz 39" 21:9 OLED and think it's perfect. And I would go no bigger. It's only a few inches up and to the side from the 34" but it's a nice upgrade. It sits alongside a 27" vertical monitor for websites/slack things like that.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • TCL unveils 57-inch curved ultrawide gaming monitor featuring 120 Hz, 8K x 2K and 1,200 nits mini-LEDs ->The 39 is equal to a 32's height. If you play 16:9 on it it's a 32" monitor. A 34 ultra wide is equal to a 27's height.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • PPI really that bad 45 inch 1440p? ->Me too. I have the same monitor. But I don't know if I would be able to stand this same resolution on a 45. I think the ppi would be too low. I think this is the upper limit of 1440p being useable. Even then, the text needed a little time to get used to.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • PPI really that bad 45 inch 1440p? ->Cleartype sucks on these. Try mactype. Made a world of difference on my 39 LG OLED.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • PPI really that bad 45 inch 1440p? ->I wouldn't go higher than the 39 at that res. Even that is pushing it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • PPI really that bad 45 inch 1440p? ->Yeah that's the reason I'd personally wait a few years to get a 5k monitor. I have a 5080 on a 39" OLED 3440x1440 with pretty maxed out settings with path tracing and Im barely pushing 70 fps. I wouldn't be happy with anything less than that FPS wise. I can probably push the frame generation and get a bit more but i find it less useable. Maybe I'd upgrade the GPU in two cycles (7080 or whatever) and get a 5k at the same time. Being on the bleeding edge of CPU tech has never been a wise idea IMO.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? ->I have the LG UltraGear 39" 21:9 and I'm honestly so impressed by it despite only being 1440p and 96 PPI. One of those things that on paper seem poor, like just basing a DSLR on megapixels. Gotta see it to believe it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is 34" ultrawide.. dying? ->The only other similar 800r I have found is this: ASUS ROG Swift 39” Ultrawide 800R Curved OLED Gaming Monitor (PG39WCDM) - 21:9 (3440x1440), 240Hz, 0.03ms, G-SYNC Compatible, Custom Heatsink, Smart KVM, 90W USB-C, DisplayWidget, 3 yr Warranty https://a.co/d/7QaQTLG But it appears text fringing could be an issue according to reviews. Even though burn-in is less of a concern these days, another perk is the LG does have pixels shift modes which i never visually notice that I have active, and it does routine cleaning on boot. Not sure what features the ASUS has. Another thing I love and was a selling point is how robust and weighted the metal stand is for the LG. Also looks cooler. 😎 Height adjustment and pivots are super smooth too. Don't seem like they'll degrade anytime soon. The ASUS looks a little wonky for such a big monitor.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is 34" ultrawide.. dying? ->Went from a 34 to a 39 lg. That got a blue line down the middle of it less than a year into ownership. Best buy didn't have another 39 to replace it with so I went to the 1440p 45". Was fearful of the dpi at this size but it's awesome. No ragerts.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • If you upgraded from a 34" to something bigger, was is worth it? ->Yes currently running 39” Lg curved and love it. Second monitor is just a basic dell
r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->I have the 39" LG oled, really love it! Definitely had to make a few adjustments to help text clarity, but god it looks great. Came from a VA panel and the improvement in response time is truly wild. Would be nice if it was 4k but my 4070 probably prefers 1440p tbh
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 39 inch ->I'm currently testing the 39" LG oled, for now the 800r is good in most games but for the love of god, it seems awfull for any kind of 2d platformers. Moving left right feels like walking on a globe, makes me feel like the screen is constantly rotating. which is makng me a bit nauseous. Didn't any of you guys had similar experience? Does it go away after a time?
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 34'' 240 Hz OLED ultrawide to date? ->Incorrect. The height of the 39'' 21:9 is pretty much identical to the 32'' inch 16:9 monitor.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG UltraGear 39 vs 34?! ->the 39" is fine but they're the same panel so it doesn't matter really visually. I don't trust asus warranty so i'd get a 3rd party one if you care. I had the 39" lg and returned it for the 45"
r/ultrawidemasterrace • ASUS PG39WCDM or LG? ->I can't speak to the 45 inch, but I just bought the 39 inch version and I love it. I have the OG Samsung non LED 49 inch and the OLED LG is brighter, the black is truly black, and the picture is really great. The only con is the text on the LG is not as clear, per se, as the samsung. Overall I do not regret the LG 39 inch. I'm honestly thinking of selling my OG Samsung 49 to get an OLED version.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Ultra wide worth lower resolution? ->Been rocking a G9, but I think I would like the monitor too be more vertical and a bit less wide. The GX9 would be perfect!

r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I'm gonna go test Warzone now and see. I can max out my UWQHD LG 240hz on ultra settings with my 5090. I'm guessing it could get close or over 200 with more average settings. Having said that, 165hz is more than fine.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 45" 5K2K - or wait until 2026? ->Using lg 3440×1440 240hz right now, the 5k2k needs to be closer to 240hz to replace the 34inch (not fhd).
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I use a cheaper end LG 3440x1440 monitor connected to a 2019 MBP as my daily driver. Zero issues at all, no blurry text
r/mac • An ultrawide curved monitor suitable for a Mac – does this exist at all? ->this is my thought…. I have a 3440x1440 LG that works great with my 4070ti but I can unfortunately tell the difference between 1440p and my old 4K. I’d be fine taking the performance hit until I can upgrade my GPU hopefully the 6070 or 6070ti will be able to run 4k
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Buy the 39 lg ultragear 1440p or wait for 39 lg ultragear 5k2k?? ->Using a 39" lg oled, and having used an 1800r g9 oled before, 800r is goated. It's a bit in your face at first, but after a couple hours it's great. If anything, I would like it even more agressive. If it was adjustable like their last 45 incher, I would basically never even do that. I actually used to get a bit motion sick on 1800r, and I don't on 800. The matte... yeah... Well, it's matte. Hopefully LG start dropping glossy's one day. QD doesn't work for my environment.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • My early impressions video covering the new LG 45GX950A 5K2K Monitor 🙂 ->i would also never get a WOLED again, QD-OLED is just superior in basically every aspect. switched from an LG WOLED to the samsung G9 and the picture quality of QD-OLED is just so much clearer and better. (i am really picky when it comes to displays, so im definitely not the average user and ive been selling TVs for the last 18 years, so ive seen basically every tech stage from ctv to oled with all their ups and downs over the years)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 5k2k — day 1, not feeling it :/ ->800r vs 1800r you can get used to both eventually. If you’re used to vibrant and saturated colors of oled, dont go with woled. I have a LG woled 800r.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG vs ASUS vs Alienware 34 OLED — which one? Best 34″ OLED ultrawide: LG, ASUS, or Alienware? WOLED vs QD-OLED ultrawide — need advice 800R vs 1800R curve — which OLED to pick? ->I miss mine, to an extent. The second they release this monitor with a 1000r curve screen I'm ditching my LG ultragear 21:9 for it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Samsung G9 49” OLED 144Hz ->Been an avid 21:9 user for like 4yrs and can't go back, only drawback is that I'm still in the OG 3440x1440 group and want a bit more crispiness to the text (OLED) and a smidge more screen real-estate. So far I've had the LG UltraGear, the Alienware one, then the Samsung G8 (current). Been eyeing a 5k 2k for a long time and curious to hear other reviews (if I get sent one LG, I will deep dive so hard into the things that I look for in a panel so be warned lol). OLED brightness, HDR, VRR, color banding are things that are very important to nail so praying ya'll nailed it. I used a Dell 32:9 (forget the model) and returned it within a week. Tried to make it work, but didn't like that it's a huge performance hit for the added peripheral you technically never use and for normal day to day, hurts my neck moving windows around. And thats before I get into getting games to do 32:9 was a nightmare vs 21:9. So sweet spot if you're a gamer imho is 21:9 -- perfect FOV to performance for modern mid-high end+ GPU's.

r/IndianGaming • Which Ultra-wide Curved gaming monitor should I go for? ->Get the MSI one. I had to get the LG ultragear because MSI wasn't available at my location.
r/IndianGaming • Which Ultra-wide Curved gaming monitor should I go for? ->You wont notice the difference between 144hz and 165hz I found LG decent enough as well.
