I've been using LG 49WQ95C-W and I love it so far! I don't game much at all but still wanted the 144hz
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The best ultrawide for home office (80%) and gaming (20%), budget: open. ->I used that lg before sending it back, despite being 144hz it’s a slow panel with a lot of motion blur, I switched it for a 38” ultragear and the difference was night and day. Also frankly the curve is not aggressive enough, you’ll notice significant issues with viewing angle on the edges. If you’re really set on 49” I’d just get the g9 and risk Samsung QA TBH, or the LG 49” va panel.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • ultrawide monitor 49" suggestions for work ->lg 49wq95c. Why? I have to screen share daily with other developers, sprint planners, and business. The resolution doesn't lead to comments about things being too small when sharing. When I'm not sharing, I'm writing all day and reading text while sitting about 24-34 inches away, just depends on how I'm sitting. My work laptop is very locked down so I have an HDMI and usb-c plugged into it and then to the monitor. With the built-in KVM, I'm able to have "two" screens. When screen sharing I move to use one side for sharing and the other for everything else. I know you're not in the same boat, but might think about the future if you end up not being able to use fancy zones, etc. Also, it's curve is slight and doesn't feel like it's wrapped around my head. Which is a personal preference for me.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Choosing an ultrawide monitor for programming (and occasional gaming) - 49" vs. 57" dilemma ->I really struggle to see how your choice of monitor could effect your cybersecurity but I read quite a lot looking for a monitor for work and settled on the LG 49WQ95C-W 49". Very satisfied with it for day to day engineering and design tasks.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • whats the best ultrawide monitor for Cybersecurity and office work? ->Like most people, I have only used one. The G9 was 40% more expensive and whilst it might be better for gaming, it offered me no benefit I needed for regular work. The LG suits me just fine. Sharing the monitor should be easy with both options. I have two laptops and an xbox connected to the monitor. It's easy to flick between the inputs or to throw a laptop output on one side and the xbox on the other side. The xbox doesn't handle the full width at all obviously.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • whats the best ultrawide monitor for Cybersecurity and office work? ->Go for Dell u4923 or LG 49wq95. Both are IPS. VA is trash for doing any work on that screen. The other posters here are clueless. Oled is also fit only for gaming.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Which 49-inch monitor is best for the Macbook Pro M1 Pro: the Samsung OLED G95SC or the LG 49WQ95C-W.AEU? ->My recommendations are this two: - LG UltraWide 49WQ95C 49“ 32:9 5120x1440 @ 144Hz IPS (5ms⚡️) - LG UltraWide 34GP950G 34“ 21:9 3440x1440 @180Hz IPS 1ms (my actual Monitor) I got nearly 20 Monitors the last 5 years and these two are the both best i got. The 49“ is absolute perfect for work and 3rd person gaming. The only two reasons I return it are the 144hz (not enough) and the 5ms GtG color switching. At test ufo it has a little bit of ghosting. It was too annoying for extremely fast 1st person shooters and movements. My actual monitor is the 34“ monitor, because it’s perfect for gaming (crystal clear). For working it is better than 1 monitor but can’t replace 2x 16:9 monitors if I go excel nerd level 😄 My pc got a rtx 4090 with Liquid Metal and oc, but here is the actual problem..I don’t want to go low settings on a fantastic monitor with 360hz etc. A 4090 reaches both monitors maximum Hz frequencies by +-3 fps on all ultra settings in AAA games. If you want Samsung 5120x1440 @ 240hz, lower you picture quality.. but there is the next problem.. the rtx 4090 is the most powerful graphics card and there are no DisplayPort 2.0 / 2.1 monitors out yet that uses full potential of 80gbit bandwidth - DP 2.0 = 5120x1440@360hz 4:4:4 colors @ 10 bit = 80gbit 5120x1440 is 48% more pixels than 3440x1440, so in theory 144fps @ 32:9 is about 214fps @ 21:9 (but games don’t scale linear, so it’s less than 200fps) 😄 What about oled? It is absolutely no option. The pixel structure (WOLED and QD-OLED) ist that damn hard to read text on with that green and red borders, I can’t use the for office work without headache in 15 minutes. And the brightness of just 250nits and burn in by static images is relevant. No one out there uses oled for work! Everyone for gaming only and that’s fantastic, but now for our usecase. Why I don’t recommend Samsung? They got ugly as hell back light solutions (look rtings.com) and the Colors are way worse than every LG I had (14monitors!)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The best ultrawide for home office (80%) and gaming (20%), budget: open. ->LG 49WQ95C-W - 49", 100% SRGB, 98% P3, 5ms, 144hz, Nano IPS Black, USB-C Power Delivery, 3800R curve so only slightly curved and not wrap around. Got one 2 weeks ago, screen is crystal clear :-)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 📊 POLL: What’s the Best Ultrawide/49” Monitor for Work & Play? Help Me Decide! ->Yeah I got a 49" 5100x1440 monitor. Its good in some ways but not the best thing ever tbh. Main issue is RL fits to the width, so you lose top and bottom visibility. The icons (boost meter/score etc) are correctly placed Replays default to 16:9 but are also fitted to the width of your screen, meaning the sky and half your car is cut off. Car feels much faster too. My car feels super slow when I switch to a 16:9 window. *
r/RocketLeague • Question for players playing with (ultra)wide monitors ->I have an LG UltraGear 49" 5120x1440 monitor that I used with an M1 for a while and never noticed an issue with text. I edited video on it for several months before I moved to Black Magic Resolve on my gaming PC. Only thing I can think is play with the scaling a bit to find what suits your visual preference. Maybe those complaining have the scaling set to high or something.
