Never seen that. I own a store with 100s of gaming monitors, LG, Samsung, Alienware, BenQ, even some Sony inzone monitors but never that lol. I got the g9 49 oled 240hz 0.03ms I sell those for $850 I had the neo g9 49 with a 0.01 Ms response time but currently out of stock on those.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Samsung G9 49” OLED 144Hz ->My LG5k2k is yet to give out unlike my Neo 49 Odyssey that I had for 1.5 years, so I still give a slight win to the LG, personally. I use mine for work, and I must admit, I was concerned going to a smaller screen from the Neo, yet the added height more than makes up for it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->Work/Productivity and value only? Probably yes. OLED is out of question, so you're stuck with VA or IPS. Unless you need Samsung most of the 32:9 VA panels are the same 144hz/240hz panel Samsung uses - you might find a cheaper 32:9 VA from ASUS, Acer, Phillips, Illyama, AOC - most use the exact same panel, some OC it out of box or offer other stuff that could actually be interesting for work/productivity (like a built in kvm, usb-c power delivery, speakers, etc.). LG does 32:9 IPS panels, better color and viewing angles on those make it interesting for productivity/work too, depending on the type of work. So I would keep those in mind and check the pricing in your country. Maybe there's a better option, otherwise the entry level G9 is totally fine for work.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • SAMSUNG 49 inch Odyssey Curved Black Dual QHD Gaming Monitor, 144 Hz LS49FG910ENXZA is this the best value option for work productivity only? ->Samsung QD-OLED G9 is quite stunning, since they're glossy like the Macbook's they pop really well in color. Otherwise you don't have many options except for MiniLED backlights in the Neo G9 49"and the G9 57", with the G9 57" being the main attraction due to its size and resolution (Dual UHD). Unfortunately those are VA panels, but they're still very good compared to a few years ago. There's no MiniLED IPS 32:9's unfortunately like on the Macbook. Only OLED, VA, VA + MiniLED, IPS, IPS Black.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is there a 49 inch super ultrawide monitor that can be visually stunning as display of apple mac book pro m3 (2024) ->I had a triple 27" setup before and switched to the neo g9 with mini led 49". I use it for programming and gaming alike. Didn't dare to get oled for programming, but dunno if that fear is actually justified. Anyway.. I am very happy with the size. I got distracted too much with the 3 monitor setup + now I have a centered monitor for gaming + two perfectly aligned and centered 27" monitors woth of space for working. The "centered" part for both use cases is what was a big game changer for me. I do miss the horizontal monitor sometimes, when reading pdfs or having discord open, buuuut it was way more distracting than it was conviniend if I am being honest. The monitor got a few bugs when it gets turned of and on because of energy saving settings multiple times and I have to unplug it every now and then to fix. Could be fixed by later firmware.. Dunno. Have yet to install it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What size of ultrawide is big enough to justify dropping dual setup? ->I just picked this up. It's on sale right now for just around $1000. Edit: the g9 that is
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best ultrawide productivity monitor? ->No the 49in. It was 40% off at bestbuy for black friday. It's my first ultrawide and is more for gaming than productivity. It feels giant so idk if I'd be able to handle the 57in hahah
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best ultrawide productivity monitor? ->If I recall correctly, the original 49" Neo G9 has full array local dimming, and is VA w/ 1ms response times. Movie watching is still more enjoyable on a 21:9, in my opinion/ experience, as it will soak up all the screen real estate. If you were willing to compromise for OLED, the upcoming 21:9 LG 45" 5k2k display sounds amazing if movies are a big second factor after productivity. For context, I have owned an IPS LG 34" UW, and currently use an OG G9. I'm sure others with more experience will chime in, thought I'd share my 2¢ anyways :3
r/ultrawidemasterrace • trying to decide on 49" monitor for productivity, light gaming, movie watching ->The literal best monitor you can get is the 49" G9 Mini LED monitor from Samsung. It's extremely close to IPSs vivid colors due to the quantum dot panel, deep and rich dark details due to the Mini LED. Smearing isn't a big problem realistically on a high end VA panel like this.
r/buildapcmonitors • Best non IPS multi-use monitor for bad eyes? ->34" is too small, 57" is too big. I've been using 49" Samsung Neo G9 (mini-led 1000R version) for 2 years and I love it for productivity and gaming. I edit and color grade HDR videos and I wish the monitor was taller / had a bit more height in terms of real-estate. Looking forward to 45" 5k2K mainly because of how tall it is and OLED 21:9 for editing videos.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->3. sounds like signal integrity problems. I had similar situation with 49inch g9 neo and active fiberoptic cables solved that. Keep in mind that this screen pushes what hdmi2.1 and displayport 1.4 can do to the very limit even with DSC. 4. if 57inch model is similar to 49inch one you need to use CRU to delete all but native resolution and then use GPU scaling. Otherwise all kind of stretching and black borders happen as you describe. It took me literally years to find this solution but it's solid. Before some gpu driver versions worked fine, others were broken.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->It's very easy to create a custom 5k2k resolution for the neo G9. It's not OLED, though. However, the G9 isn't miles worse than OLED, either. To me, the 57 gives the best of both worlds being able to use 32:9 or 21:9
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->Neo G9 49" is basically the best choice. It also has the very best local dimming algorithm of all MiniLEDs that RTings tested.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I want a super ultra wide for work and gaming... but everything is OLED now? ->Depends, I've been satisfied with my 49" G9 Neo. The HDR is neat, much higher peak level brightness than the OLED model, although around 2000 local dimming zones sometimes feel like not enough (in some rare occasions).
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best non-OLED ultrawide ->I purchased my neo g9 for this price. You may just wait til Black Friday soon if you were wanting to go that route.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • This is the cheapest 49'' OLED monitor ever. Any downsides or caveats? ->Idk this was last year I assumed they still would be Edit: oh yea can’t find them online except for third party sellers listing them over $2k 😂😂 well the OLED will probably be getting close to that price point this year then
r/ultrawidemasterrace • This is the cheapest 49'' OLED monitor ever. Any downsides or caveats? ->Can’t speak about the others but Samsung is notorious for having bad quality control, I had to go through 3 different Neo g9s to finally receive one without dead pixels. It’s a real good monitor for sure.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 49" non-OLED monitor? G95C vs Neo G9 vs Ultragear ->they dont exist. i was searching for a bit and just got the odyssey neo 49"
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Mini LED Ultrawide 34inch Gaming Monitor ->I had the non oled Samsung with the huge curve and then got the oled with the smaller curve and I preferred less curve.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->Thanks for the review, much appreciated. At the same time I believe the issue with productivity is caused by OLED G9 curve - 1800R. Previously I was running LG 38" 1800R ultrawide. It was barely usable for me at the edges, had to run 125% zoom in windows to use it somehow. At the same time currently writing this comment on Neo G9 49 (1000R), and it's a major difference. Currently Windows Zoom set to 100% with having an IDE, browser, MS Teams set o 120%. So far so good, 3 decently sized windows side by side, no issues with text clarity and it's pretty comfortable. Still can use 100% zoom, but text is too small for me. At the same time, it's 125 PPI for LG vs 109 PPI, so most like 125% zoom is minimal acceptable for LG, at least for me.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->"HDR 2000" is just marketing. There is no HDR 2000 certification. Please have a look into real comparison: G9 Neo 49" https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/samsung/odyssey-neo-g9-g95na-s49ag95 G9 Neo 57" https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/samsung/odyssey-neo-g9-g95nc-s57cg95
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I want a super ultra wide for work and gaming... but everything is OLED now? ->If you want a 32:9 get the 49" g9 neo or 57" g9 neo. Both are mini led 240hz. Great displays.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best non-OLED ultrawide ->My sweet spot was for a long time a 49” Neo G9. 32:9 provided so much additional space in games, I could really enjoy the widescreen. Wanted to switch to OLED, but lack of G9 OLED brightness and curve made me hesitate. 21:9 was no option because I wanted a bigger screen, not just a narrower one. Found the Lg 5k2k and fell for it. Narrower, without loosing pixels, higher, with additional screen space. Once I heard that my 4090 will be enough to power most of the games, I decided to get one, as soon as they’ll ship in my country.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I have a G9 Neo and an MS in Cybersecurity and there is absolutely no reason why you would need one for Cyber. If you want to justify your purchase of one, then sure go ahead. Your wife also probably doesn't need a 49" for office work unless she already uses one as part of her workflow. In fact, if neither of you already use a super ultra wide like a 49" G9 Neo, you won't have the workflow to make use of it. Before, Windows Powertoys, it was PITA to manage Windows in a super ultra wide.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • whats the best ultrawide monitor for Cybersecurity and office work? ->If you are intent on a 49", go to a store and sit in front of it. They look great, but most people would probably benefit from 2 27" monitors, productivity wise. A 49" is 2 1440p 27" monitors without the bezel. When I say sit in front of it, don't marvel at how great it looks, actually see if you can see yourself being productive with it. I use a 49" at home, but like I've said, unless you have a workflow that utilizes it, you don't need it. If you haven't ever used an ultra wide, why are you jumping straight to a 49" super ultra wide? There's nothing wrong with a 34". If you want a 49", then by all means, go ahead. But the justification of "taking my MS in Cyber" and "wife doing office work" isn't in a use case for super ultrawides. My use case was, I need screen real estate, I didn't want to keep using stacked 34" monitors, and I didn't want to waste space on either the two monitor arms, or stands. If your use case is, "it looks cool as shit", then yes, yes it is and that's a perfectly good reason to get it. Also, don't forget, these monitors have lots of pixels, is your laptop going to have the power to push those pixels?
r/ultrawidemasterrace • whats the best ultrawide monitor for Cybersecurity and office work? ->49” Neo G9 here and it’s amazing. I have a Quest 3 but really find myself using the screen more for improved visual quality and performance.
r/simracing • Is a super ultra wide monitor worth it? ->I use it on the neo g9 everyday. PBP, Picture By Picture. it's fairly easy to use. Requires a couple of clicks of the nubbin under the monitor to turn off and on
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Super ultrawide that acts as two true monitors? ->I have a g9 neo and it does not make a huge difference. Don’t buy an ultrawide if you don’t have a lot of disposable income and already own everything you need/want
r/AskProgramming • Thoughts on Ultrawide monitors for coding ->I'd go for the QHD Samsung 49" Neo G9. It's $800 and plenty for productivity.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Need Recommendations for best Ultra wide monitor for Productivity and split screen/PIP capabilities ->* **CPU**: i7 13700KF * **RAM**: 64 GB @ 5800 MHz * **GPU**: 3080 10GB VRAM * **STORAGE**: Samsung 970 PRO 1TB (NVME SSD) * **DISPLAY**: Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 49", 5120x1440 (32:9) I'm getting roughly 170 fps docked in a station. Doesn't usually drop from that, at least not that I notice. Edit: forgot to mention, I’m on Ultra settings. Trying to get the best graphical quality I can.
r/EliteDangerous • CMDRs running Ultrawide monitors, what Monitor and Graphics cards do you use? ->I have a Samsung 49” Odyssey Neo G9 miniLED. I’m happy with it except for the fact that it’s not 4K. I think the sweet spot for ultrawides are 39”. Not too imposing but, gives you the feel of stepping up to ultra wide daily life. I like ultras bigger, personally.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->Get the 49" Neo then. Still an incredible monitor.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I want a super ultra wide for work and gaming... but everything is OLED now? ->Wrong, consistently hit 240 fps with frames to spare in many games on my aqua 7900 XTX with a "old" 5800X3D FSR3 with frame generation or driver level AFMF2 frame gen with the VA based 240hz G9. Totally useful. I would imagine even older RDNA 6000 series should have no trouble either with many modern games.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Samsung G9 49” OLED 144Hz ->Just measured my 49" Samsung og-G9 (1000R) and yeah, it's 45" wide and even with an 1800mm desk, it takes up a lot of room and it's a bit of a struggle for space with my PC, medium-sized speakers, work laptop (upright in cradle), mic arm, camera, lights, desk fan and dac/speaker/headphone amp stack. As it's a standing desk too, everything has to be on top. I am a bit concerned with the height of the monitor though, and importantly for me, the new height the camera will have to be with this lens and still look normal - could you measure the height please? I reckon I'll still get this one over the bendy one but am also temped by the future 40" screen in the timeline though this might be bit small (better dpi though), Have to wait till available in Australia though \**sigh\**
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 45GX950A Review – 5K2K OLED Is the CRAZIEST Gaming Monitor of 2025! ->Debated posting, but I'll give it a shot now. We can use a multi-stage process quite opinionated view of how I see each major criteria, and then combine it together for an answer. **Aspect Ratio** **16:9:** Is not ultrawide! Surely it shall join the bygone era of 4:3. I still have to argue with friends to try out ultrawide haha. **21:9:** Props to not just attaching two 16:9's together. I view 21:9 perhaps not as the ultimate sweet spot for every purpose, but as the best jack-of-all-trades. For FPS, your peripheral vision still fits in nicely, for racing, it's still immersive enough, for MMOs, you're getting enough real estate for your needs, for single player AAA adventures, you're getting immersed, etc. Movie content can fit really well. Productivity and editing may fall short of 32:9, but it's still fantastic. **32:9:** Amazing for certain types of games, but not all (emphasis on FPS). As mentioned by LG itself, avoiding the fisheye that comes with a 32:9 is beneficial. The endless balancing between Quake Pro and the sides of your screen looking funky sometimes gets annoying. Of course, I will say the productivity is great. **Others:** It's just not mainstream enough. I cannot speak on behalf of the small changes of a 24:10 or the whack of a 58:9 LG Ultra Stretch, but I'd prefer to work with something I know some level of support will come with. **Screen Size to Resolution** | Monitor Size | 2560×1080 (UW-FHD) | 3440×1440 (UW-QHD) | 3840×1600 (UW-WQHD) | 5120×1440 (SUW-QHD) | 5120×2160 (SUW-4K) | |:-------------|:-------------------|:--------------------|:---------------------|:---------------------|:-------------------| | **29"** | *Sharp enough and useful in my books if you like secondary ultrawide monitors, good PPI.* ✅ | *I don't believe it exists + overkill.* ❌ | *Doesn't exist.* 🚫 | *Doesn't exist.* 🚫 | *Is this even feasible?* 🚫 | | **34"** | *Pushing it here. Maybe if you need a large screen on a budget.* ⚠️ | *Sweet spot for 34" ultrawide—great clarity.* ✅ | *Doesn't exist.* 🚫 | *Doesn't exist.* 🚫 | *Look, I'll take it, but a bit much? Nearly 165 PPI.* ✅ | | **38"** | *Doesn't exist, shouldn't exist.* 🚫 | *We're leaving the sweet spot now.* ⚠️ | *I think it's a great middle option.* ✅ | *Doesn't exist.* 🚫 | *I'll also take it. I think 40" exist around here.* ✅ | | **45"** | *Doesn't exist, shouldn't exist.* 🚫 | *It's simply too large now for 1440p. I understand some people accept it, but 83ish PPI...bit too low.* ❌ | *Doesn't exist.* 🚫 | *Opinion here doesn't differ that much from the 49". I think if you want something a tinch smaller, this is great.* ✅ | *Ah, the GX9. I think for the size of the monitor, it's fantastic. I personally lean to larger monitors, and I think the PPI holds strong here.* ✅ | | **49"** | *Doesn't exist, shouldn't exist.* 🚫 | *Doesn't exist, shouldn't exist.* 🚫 | *Doesn't exist, shouldn't exist.* 🚫 | *I think if a super ultrawide is your jazz, then this resolution to size is great. I love super ultrawides and see a use case here.* ✅ | *I think realistically it's still fine. I'd just be cautious about lowering PPI again.* ⚠️ | *57" is cool but goodness goodbye my neck.* **Refresh Rate** 1. **60 Hz:** 🤮. OK, rude, but for web browsing and productivity? Sure. Gaming? No thank you. 2. **75 Hz:** Feels like you're being teased for what could have been a better life. 3. **100 Hz:** OK, better, better, starting to feel it more, but surely... 4. **120 Hz:** I'm content with this for many things. 5. **144 Hz:** I think for most non-competitive gaming, I'm content. 6. **165 Hz:** Feels like the new 144 Hz these days. I prefer it to 144 Hz of course. 7. **200 Hz:** Great stuff, hope I have a decent GPU. 8. **240 Hz:** I really hope I have a good GPU. I'll take this for all tasks. 9. **300 Hz+:** At this point I'll 100% take this for all tasks. **Panel Type** 1. **TN:** Goodness me, if I can avoid it, I will. Flashy refresh rates out there I guess...and that's about it. 2. **VA:** Such a common panel, and honestly, decent enough. I unfortunately get the motion blur, but I do get the better blacks. 3. **IPS:** Well, I'm sacrificing the blacks again but I'm getting some great colour here. 4. **OLED:** Ah yes, while some may complain about text readability and the risk of burn in, very few can deny it being the ultimate choice. The colours, blacks, response time, you name it, it has it. **Curve** This is interesting as I'm not entirely sure how to judge this or make a table/list for it. I recently had an Odyssey G9 (which has failed on me), and it had 1000R. Without that 1000R I'm sure color shifting when looking at my far right/left and my neck life itself would have been a bit worse off - so I do appreciate what a curve brings, especially in the immersion factor. 800R? For a 45"? Seems radical, but I like the sound of it. At the end of the day, it might be quite an opinionated topic, and for those that are on the fence about it might just select to wait for the bendable version. But I appreciate the engineering that has gone into creating such a curve, as well as having a curve than not having one as per my reasoning above. **Verdict** So what is the *sweet spot*? Well, the progression of panel technology comes heavily into play and when you ask someone. If I had asked this question 10 years ago then the sweet spot they would have mentioned then is invalid now. Perhaps 10 years from now I'd accept no less than 10240 x 4320 for my ultrawides. Personally, if I need a large monitor (because if I need a small my sweet spot changes), I'd say the GX9 is hitting it. The PPI is high enough to be impressive - not stupidly high that I can't notice it. 165 Hz is a good compromise until 240 Hz and higher I assume comes out later. OLED is something I'm dying to get into for a modern gaming monitor, and I think leaning into and accepting 800R is appropriate for such a size. Oh and 5120x2160? Sounds good to me. 330 Hz on dual mode hopefully scratches an itch here and there, especially that many won't have the budget to even get a GPU to bring their games to 165 Hz for the native resolution mode. With framerate aside, at least from what I'm reading, the specs of this monitor honestly might represent the sweet spot at the moment until the consensus for our definition of a sweet spot decides to change. I guess all I can promise is to give an analysis if selected to prove my thoughts.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I have, I owned it, and the 57. Both are superb, both work well. Op is a m&Ron.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->It was in the original marketing material but not specifically about HOW the screen is curved, more that the perspective is like having 2 x 32 inch 4K monitors side by side, which is exactly what I see when I'm sitting in front without the centre bezel. I came from the 49 inch Odyssey before the 57, and that curve was too much for me, as in every page or window looked curved to me, so I thought the 1000r was too agressive on that screen. Also the 1440 height was too short IMO. But the 57 addresses that by flatenning out the edges and gives the extra height. The curve works so well on that size screen, so that the same 1000r is more manageable, (when you sit in the correct position like Samsung recommends) I love the perspective and I watched a youtube where someone from Samsung explained about how when you are sitting in front of 2 x 4k 32 inch screens, the edges don't curve in, and that's how this monitor looks. I'm sorry, why is it weird? It's normal to everyone else, you seem to have some issue with it>Why? I'm lost
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->The 49" lol. As far as I know there's 3. The 49 non OLED, the OLED, and the 57 OLED
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 49 inch monitor for gaming and productivity? ->If you're gunna have still frames alot I'd probably get the non OLED
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 49 inch monitor for gaming and productivity? ->I had a 49” Samsung Odyssey G9 VA panel for 2 weeks paired with a Zotac airo extreme4090 but that monitor died before the two week return period thankfully so bullet dodged I’ll never buy another Samsung product again seeing this is a common issue so for now I use a standard 4K 28” Acer Nitro monitor for exploration and mining or quest 3 VR for bounty hunting
r/EliteDangerous • CMDRs running Ultrawide monitors, what Monitor and Graphics cards do you use? ->Not a big risk. People seem to like them OK. That being said, you’d be better off buying G9 directly from Samsung using their EPP or EDU program. Or even AAA for a discount if you are a member. I used my AAA discount and got the VA version of the 49” G9 for around $650.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Has anyone ever herd of this brand before? Anyone actually own this monitor? Seems like a great deal for a 32:9 OLED. ->I love it. I had a 34” Gigabyte G34wqc ultrawide for awhile. It was nice, though the VA smearing was noticeable. The 49” Samsung with the VA panel is awesome. No smearing. No VRR flicker. No mini-LED blooming. No OLED text fuzziness or burn-in. The size is awesome. The 34” wasn’t wide enough. The 49” is great. I’ve considered the 57”, but I’m concerned about the blooming, as well as the need for a very expensive/specific monitor arm, and the difficulty with fitting it on my current SteelCase Ology standing desk. 49” is a big increase for my productivity.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Has anyone ever herd of this brand before? Anyone actually own this monitor? Seems like a great deal for a 32:9 OLED. ->It’s amazing for gaming. Don’t listen to haters who don’t actually own or use them. I’ve owned a Gigabyte WQC34 curved 34” monitor and it was great. I upgraded to a Samsung G9 49” monitor and it is AMAZING. I love how immersive it is, how much real-estate I get, and the overall experience. Absolutely no drawbacks except needing a beefy GPU for 5120x1440. There are no games I play that can’t do 5120x1440, except PoE2. Then, it’s just like running a 34” widescreen instead. But every other game plays at native 5120x1440 and looks amazing. Highly recommended.
r/pcmasterrace • People who use ultra wide curve monitor, is it as good as it looks? ->i have both, the curvatures are the same, the 57 is 2 inches taller though and a bit wider
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->considering samsung are one of the pioneers of curved tvs, and even curved monitors and nearly every super ultra wide is a samsung screen, i dont know what you've been looking at. if i took like 6 neo g9's side to side id have a circle, a perfect circle. thats how this whole thing works, mine doesnt have flat sides, did youre little brother jump on it on the ground. the 57 is identical to every single 49 inch 1000r monitor out there, except 2 inches taller and 5 inches wider
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->With a 49" 1000R I never had to move my head...the 57" 1000R, sat far enough back is very minimal head movement and when gaming none at all.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Ultrawide vs. 27”/32” Monitor for Ergonomics – Which is Better? ->The cheapest 32:9 monitors are the 49" non-OLED monitors. Samsung Odyssey and LG UltraGear. They are $749-799 USD. You may be able to find them cheaper on sale, or open box. There are also some cheaper brands that probably use the same panel (manufactured by Samsung or LG). In the US these brands are AOC and Westinghouse. There are probably different ones in Europe. The OLED 49" monitors start at about $100 more, $849. Such as the MSI MPG. They all should have Picture-by-Picture and a KVM switch, but you might want to double check.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What are some recommendations for budget 32:9 curved monitors with picture by picture mode? ->Odyssey g9 neo. It's a gamble tho, samsung qc is abyssmal.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Need help picking a 49"curved (gaming) monitor ->Yeah Oled tech is much better now, but for me the risk wasnt worth it and i did go with a neo g9 49inch, am happy so far and was spared from samsungs abyssmal QC.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Need help picking a 49"curved (gaming) monitor ->I have the Samsung Odyssey G9 (non-OLED version). I tried the OLED version and the t XT issue was too much for me as I do a lot with text in my job. LOVE the monitor. I did check out an OLED Ultra gear at the same time and it was fantastic, just too small for me, was 43" maybe. Text looked really good on it too. I would need two of them and the price was too high for that, otherwise I'd have two of them! :)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best non-OLED ultrawide ->Mine is about 2yrs old (at least according to Reddit, I posted about a month after I bought it. I went and looked up when that was) I purchased the G9 Neo AND the OLED to compare them, and ended up keeping the Neo. It's had some quirks for sure, damn thing is so heavy that even a wall mount for a 60" TV (NOT an arm, but a full on mount) is too much, so I have blocks on the sides holding it where I like it. It's "gone black" on me about once every couple of months. I have to turn it off and leave it for about 10min before I can turn it back on. Thankfully it hasn't happened in the middle of a presentation or something. Prob the most annoying is when the button at the bottom stops working. I have two PCs connected, and I switch between them quite often, and you need the button to do that... And to turn it off. So when it stops working it makes it hard to do those things. I have to unplug it for about 10s and plug it back in and it's all good again. All things considered, these are minor issues, and I love the monitor otherwise.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best non-OLED ultrawide ->As soon as you mention productivity the answer becomes the Odyssey Neo G9, VA with FALD for near-oled image quality (at the expense of not having 0.03ms pixel switching).
r/ultrawidemasterrace • trying to decide on 49" monitor for productivity, light gaming, movie watching ->They're just about equal in price because the OLED G9 and the Neo G9 are both the top monitors, just for different use cases. OLED for pure gaming, Neo for gaming + text without risk of burn-in. Both monitors are the pinnacle of their use case.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • trying to decide on 49" monitor for productivity, light gaming, movie watching ->Yeah, I actually prefer the 1000R curve on my G9 Neo vs the G9 OLED's 1800R. Productivity included.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->\- LG Reliability > Samsung Reliability (my G9 Neo has flickering issues, My OLED version won't go above 120 hz anymore) \- Even more power required to drive games on the 57" vs LG. \- 21:9 > 32:9 IMO (and very subjective, but a reason nonetheless for many).
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->It took me a couple of weeks to get used to it. I love it now and got another one for the office. Make sure the latest firmware is installed and don't put brightness over 30-35 max. Yes it's not perfect, but try cyberpunk or something immersive. You don't need VR.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->It sounds the same as all the Samsung g9's they all have flickering issues, not waking from sleep and other issues. Some issues get fixed with firmware but Samsung are rubbish and normally break something else with each firmware "fix". After getting the Neo I've decided to switch to another brand next time I'm sick of the flickering never getting fixed and the lack of support from Samsung.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->The Neo G9 is I think my favourite monitor ever and I use it with two Mac's, a Mac Studio M2 Max (2023) and MacBook Pro M3 (~2024) supplied by my employer. I work every day on this monitor for over 10+ hours working. Both have HDMI 2.1 ports which support 7680x2160@120hz and that's the resolution I run. All the apps where I really need larger fonts allow me to configure larger fonts except a few and even those apps are fine as on this monitor I'm physically so close to it or rather I'm immersed in it. The MacOS menu bar can be a bit small even at the larger front setting but I survive. I also have an Elgato StreamDeck which I use to jump between HDMI 1->2 and control G9 brightness via DDC with BetterDisplay app. Some people try to use HiDPI and scaled fonts but I played with scaling in the beginning and ended up going full resolution and tweaking my main apps so I get access to all that 8k2k pixel real estate and can have more apps on screen at once (Teams, Outlook, iTerm, browsers, Xcode/IDEs, DBeaver, Resolve etc etc). I use it for work so the core apps I use each day don't tend to change much. I also run Parallels/Win11 and AWS Workspaces when I have to do something in Windows (uuurgh, plz shoot me) although keep them as approx quarter screen windows, never full screen. Finally I run KeyboardMaestro and Commandpost and Display Ninja and Moom. These allow me to have set layouts and hotkeys to position windows and the jump the mouse to specific locations quickly etc etc. For example I have a specific layout for Teams calls and another when working on docs in Word or another when working in iTerm on servers. etc etc. ... Oh and the G9 57 feels like it takes an eternity to turn on so I never turn it off, instead I have it connected to ZigBee motion sensor (Homeassistant) which changes the brightness from zero to desired brightness when I walk to my desk and it goes back to zero brightness when inactive after 5mins etc. Effectively turning the monitor off and on instantly. Embrace the pixels. Get a good soundbar/speakers and quality webcam. 😊
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Which MacBook would I need to drive a 5K2K Hz monitor for work (and maybe a bit of cheeky gaming on the side with a PC) - and which ultrawide to get? ->Just got mine; also returning it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->I have the Neo G9 mini-led with 1000r. It cost around £1500. For what it's worth, my 48 inch LG TV at 4k has only a inch less of viewing space on the sides by driver mirror and A pillar. I bought the LG TV after to replace desktop monitor, if I had realised the viewing before, I would have just had the TV as its cheaper and prettier in 4k 120hz. Would have meant I could upgrade earlier aswell. I would much rather have the G9 57 inch with 4k UW, that is endgame right there.
r/simracing • What super ultra wide monitor is best for sim racing? ->1. The dizziness is called motion sickness. This is because this monitor is immersive, and it can occur when viewing high-resolution, moving images (we're familiar with this from 3D glasses, also known as VR). I experienced it with this monitor when I was playing Fortnite at 8k and had to lower the resolution to HD, after which the dizziness disappeared. I'm currently practicing and have reached 5k. But I can confirm that the edges only begin to curve after approx. 20cm. *Edit:* I also have this problem, when I watch very high resolution drone flights in a 16:9 format. That means I am watching the video in the curved area with black areas to the left and right but there is still motion sickness - you need to learn handling it or lower the resolution. 5. I have no problems with wake up - apparently the firmware they deliver now has solved this problem. (Edit: I counted 5s till it´s back when I shake my mouse) *Edit:* **Regarding the 2nd point:** The viewing angle is really not that good (a color washout begins around +30° ) - it means that you should not use this monitor in a presentation room but on the other hand: who would use a curved monitor with such an aggressive curve for presentations? This is like downvoting the monitor because it has drawbacks when you share the monitor in a meeting because it´s 32:9 (naturally there is not a problem, when you use picture in picture which is great - the monitor then works like 2 32" 4k Displays). A little hint: placing the monitor 80-90cm away from your eyes is a nice distance to have a good view. A big wtf goes to the "color-moan". Maybe you want to check this review from [rtings.com](http://rtings.com) : [https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/samsung/odyssey-neo-g9-g95nc-s57cg95](https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/samsung/odyssey-neo-g9-g95nc-s57cg95) Especially the *color accuracy* and the *color gradient* are called "**remarkable**".
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->I have the Neo G9 52 and just run PBP so it’s “two monitors” then I can still share the screen properly in zoom/huddles.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Want to switch to an ultrawide for work… are there any downsides? ->OLED have slightly better visuals but don’t have much of a shelf life, so keep that in mind. I’ve had the Samsung Odyssey Neo g9 (5120x1440 - 49’’) since 2022 (heavy use - I’m a lawyer, so reading, drafting lawsuits etc… on top of gaming) and have had no issues. If i went OLED i would’ve probably encountered some issues by now. For gaming, expect some games to lack ultrawide support without mods unfortunately. For productivity it’s a god send, you can multi task super efficiently as you can basically have 4 windows open with full view of controls, taskbars etc… Pairs really nicely with a smaller monitor on top too
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Recommendations for a Ultrawide Monitor ->this guy is whack. if you are doing any kind of productivity or like your taskbar showing, have a HUD or crosshair get the VA or NEO, the neo is awesome on par with the OLED but won't have its pixels melt like the OLED will
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 49 inch monitor for gaming and productivity? ->I had a Neo g9 before and currently use G8 oled 21:9. Ultrawide is good fun for a while but I always ended up playing with the standard 16:9 ratio in the end. The image is stretched on UW, which makes it difficult to read the player's movement sideways. If that makes any sense. Good usage of the right stick beats ultrawide any day
r/RocketLeague • Question for players playing with (ultra)wide monitors ->I have a Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo (5160x1440) running at 240hz on my Studio 2 Ultra and it looks great. Any higher res and the text is too small. It can go higher res, but I keep it at default.
r/macmini • Mac mini and ultra wide monitor ->I currently have the 49 inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 and while it is gorgeous, it's size is a bit too wide for competitive FPS gaming. I play CoD daily and often finds myself having to move my head a little to catch movement at the periphery of vision. The smaller size of the LG GX9 should better fit the whole of the action within my PoV without my having to adjust my seating position. So I would say that 45" would be a fantastic sweet spot for a sub 32:9 aspect ratio wide screen monitor.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I just bought it a couple days ago Arrived today and set it up. Already have so many complaints. 1) the blooming is very bad. The local dimming zone on high makes it terrible so I have to turn it off to have uniform lighting. White on black text is bad. 2)it’s so hot. I literally feel the heat emanating off it at arms length. 3)the games I tried to play do not support this and are all distorted, rivals and poe2. Cyberpunk worked really good tho. 4)I feel really sick using it. It’s been on for only a couple of hours and I’m feeling really sick already. I don’t know what it is. 5) random screen flickering. In games the brightness kinda flickers. It’s very very noticeable in game menus like cyberpunk. Not as big of a problem in games. Still a problem Probably gonna return it and go back to my multi monitor set up. This was a total bust.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->Honestly it’s really good for productivity. It’s not a gaming monitor. It’s ass for gaming it’s so y optimized. But I used it for work and it was very very good. I love it for that 10/10 the text clarity and such is great. I’m a software developer and the goods from productivity outweigh the horrific bads from gaming. I wanted it to work out the box but it didn’t and I’m gonna have to get used to it. There are workarounds
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->I have mine hooked up to a Samsung G9 49” @240hz with no issues.
r/macmini • M4 Mac mini compatibility problems with ultrawide monitors? ->As an owner of the 49” ultrawide monitor Odyssey G9, I believe the sweet spot for the ultrawide monitor is between 39” to 45”, 5k resolution with at least 120 hz refresh rate. Anything bigger is too big and anything smaller defeat the purpose of ultrawide concept. Of course in order to take advantage of this, you need a high end system with a 4090 or higher video card, which I currently have.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I use a 49” Samsung Odyssey G9 with a M2 Pro Mac mini at 5120x1440. Works fine, with no blurred text under macOS and Windows 11 on VMware Fusion (which is now free for personal use, BTW).
r/mac • An ultrawide curved monitor suitable for a Mac – does this exist at all? ->I have both, i prefer the g9 as it works every time, no tweaking settings and i get a bigger fov. I do miss the depth perception and elevation changes so i understand why people can’t go back to screens. Running at 200fps is incredibly smooth and everything is clearer than you’ll ever get in vr so I’m happy with my decision.
r/iRacing • Should I switch from VR to Ultrawide ->32:9 of 2 27’ monitor no compromises xD
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What size of ultrawide is big enough to justify dropping dual setup? ->I use the Samsung g9 but not OLED
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What size of ultrawide is big enough to justify dropping dual setup? ->Don't get an OLED, as good as it is for gaming and movies it is bad to read texts on. Samsung odyssey g9 or lg UW dual qhd, both are great
r/Monitors • Please reccomend an ultrawide monitor with good text clarity ->I’ve had one since it came out and I love it! I was badly messed around by Samsung customer service when I ordered a G9. It’s got a better burn in warranty and some great anti-burn in technology. The MSI OLED care that pops up after 4 hours of use is a bit annoying but I have no regrets at all that I didn’t go Samsung.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • This is the cheapest 49'' OLED monitor ever. Any downsides or caveats? ->I'm not going to tell you what to do, just share my experience I've moved from a reverb G2 to a G9 ultra wide and setup head tracking with my webcam and open track and I'm perfectly happy to have left VR in my rear view. Image clarity, frame rate and the lack of fucking around optimising VR are all worth it. I use a playseat trophy and have the monitor mounted right over the top of my wheel
r/iRacing • Should I switch from VR to Ultrawide ->Would be great to upgrade from an AW3821DW. Tried a g9 odyssey and returned it. Sweet spot is definitely 40".
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->Triples are least expensive and give best FOV if you have the space. The Samsung 49 inch G9 is more expensive, but it’s an easier setup and gives a very good FOV, but a bit smaller than triples screen. The Samsung Arc is massive, heavy and way expensive if you are just thinking using it for a sim right now. I got mine in sale and I’m happy with it. But it’s smart device, a great entertainment device/tv if you use a game console, it can even act as a game console, and it’s good for doing work but I’m not sure I could use it with my rig. It you want to go that big and your use case is only sim racing, just get a big regular monitor or tv.
r/simracing • Is a super ultra wide monitor worth it? ->I’ve had a G9, moved to triple screen for racing. Triples are better if you have the space.
r/simracing • What super ultra wide monitor is best for sim racing? ->Very personal opinion: 38” is the sweet spot for productivity and gaming. I had a giant mega 57 and it was way too big, I like having the entire monitor in my view at all times. Maybe it was my desk setup, but i sold it and replaced with an alienware 38” and fucking love it for coding and gaming a few hours at night. On a Mac I can have 3 good sized vertical windows with Amethyst window manager, or two full sized ones. One with code and one with the program open. Coming from 2560x1440 it’s the perfect size. For gaming it’s also better because yeah a mega giga 57 inch can be really immersive, but like I said it felt like a better experience being able to see the whole thing without having to move my head or neck. There’s definite value in the giant ones and you may love it, but consider getting a nice 38” or 40-something OLED top of the line one (144hz, GSYNC, etc). For reference i have an alienware A3821W. Had the samsung G9 for the giant one
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The best ultrawide for home office (80%) and gaming (20%), budget: open. ->I have a non oled g9 and it serves me well
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best non-OLED ultrawide ->I was really happy with my original g9 for sim racing, but since I got a quest 3, I don't think I've done any racing without vr since. Total game changer for me imho. Also the quest 3 is so much cheaper than a super ultra wide 😜
r/simracing • What super ultra wide monitor is best for sim racing? ->I have issues screen sharing with my G9. If you can share just a window it solves the screen sharing issue, but if your going to share the entire screen, others will have issues and need to zoom in on an area.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 45GX950A Review – 5K2K OLED Is the CRAZIEST Gaming Monitor of 2025! ->Playing on Samsung odyssey G9. Advantage: * You can see from tier 2 to tier 1 tower in one screen and have more information available to you * You have no space for a second screen with youtube that distracts you Disadvantage: * It can be too much information, which can make you lose focus on the closer things or in general be overwhelming (especially at the start, you will get used to it) * The shop is quite far in the corner, smart shopping is neccesary (key binds or multiple items in shopping queue) * Basically you cannot shop and look at your hero at the same time if your camera is centred Overall it is pretty good but nothing ground breaking. I wouldnt pay the high price of such a monitor for dota. They shine more at atmospheric games with good graphics, imo. But Dota 2 does work better than some games as you have no black bars but a real full screnn. Many other games (eg PoE 2) dont tolerate the 32:9 but only go to 21:9 with black bars for the rest
r/DotA2 • Are there ultrawide monitor gamers here? ->32:9. I cant go back. There's so much information you can see. I have an Samsung odyssey g9.
r/simracing • 21:9 or 32:9 ultrawide for simracing? ->What about a OG G9 or the 49”Neo with Mini LED? Can you find those where you are? I have a G9 I use for work and LOVE. Not as big a fan for games actually so got a Corsair Xeneon Flex for that.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I want a super ultra wide for work and gaming... but everything is OLED now? ->if the 57” was oled id give up my g9
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What is the best ultrawide in your opinion? ->I have a satechi 6in1 dock/adapter on my 15in m2 air with a usb c to display port cable from Best Buy connected to the dock and it just works on my g9 won’t do full resolution with 240hz but it does full resolution with 120hz no apps needed. I have my mba on a verticals stand and just keep it behind the monitor plugged into MagSafe
r/macbookair • Use with a super ultra wide monitor ->Biggest downside is PPI (Pixel Per Inch) density. For some jobs, it matters. I do software development so I want the sharpest text possible if I am staring at Visual Studio Code 8-10 hours a day. No ultrawide comes close to a (true) 5K or 6K monitor. I have a G9 Oddyssey and it actually hurts my eyes right after I use my two LG 5Ks. It has the same PPI as a 15 inch 1336x768 cheap Office Depot laptop at 108 PPI vs 219 PPI on a 5K monitor or 265 on my laptop. if you insist on an ultrawide, I suggest some of the 5K2K. It comes close to a true 5K but still not close enough. Always pull the PPI stats or calculate them (there are online calculators)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Want to switch to an ultrawide for work… are there any downsides? ->Samsung G9 and EVGA 3090. Dial everything up to maximum. It is glorious. VR still brings it to its knees though.
r/EliteDangerous • CMDRs running Ultrawide monitors, what Monitor and Graphics cards do you use? ->G9 is still the most sold 32:9 monitor, but i wouldnt call it the king. there is too much personal preference when it comes to monitors to even crown any monitor the best. there are a lot of people who really dislike 32:9 and also many, like myself, that really dislike 800r curve. than there is WOLED vs QD-OLED and Matt vs glossy. its a whole religion already and guys will debate for hours and hours only to agree to disagreeing. for me, i tried matt WOLED for a few months, switched to glossy QD-OLED and couldnt be happier. every single little thing that bothered me just disappeared. but that doesnt mean its the same for everyone else.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide Gaming Monitor in 2025? ->i would also never get a WOLED again, QD-OLED is just superior in basically every aspect. switched from an LG WOLED to the samsung G9 and the picture quality of QD-OLED is just so much clearer and better. (i am really picky when it comes to displays, so im definitely not the average user and ive been selling TVs for the last 18 years, so ive seen basically every tech stage from ctv to oled with all their ups and downs over the years)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 5k2k — day 1, not feeling it :/ ->I switched from VR to a 48 G9 Odyssey to triple 32s. I would've stuck with the UW but it died two months into owning it
r/iRacing • Should I switch from VR to Ultrawide ->Yes. I bought a Samsung Odyssey G9 49” for gaming. Even though the OLED display and 240Hz refresh rate are top notch, I couldn’t adjust to 32:9 for games. Not a fan of black bands on each side of a game ( most ). I prefer gaming on a LG C9 55” 4K (@120Hz) Now, the Samsung G9 is used solely for productivity. Excel is great on one third of the screen. Teams open on another 3rd of the screen; and the last third of a screen a browser open for AI/etc and I am rockin and rollin.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does the perfect Ultrawide monitor for productivity first and gaming second exist? ->For programming you want a high vertical height to have a good overview over your code. For gaming, you want a wide horizontal width in order to improve immersion. Theoreticaly, those requirements contradict each other. Now, there are different solutions to this. One solution would be a smaller and lighter widescreen than can be turned easily to be used vertically alongside your laptop for work or horizontally for gaming. This is the cheapest solution, but it can be annoying to readjust your screen twice a day. Another affordable option would be going for a non-ultrawide screen that is more flexibly in its use. Currently, my SO is using my old 32:9 Odyssey G9 Ultradewide for coding.... Let's just say, it wouldn't be comfortable for me. Too much vertical scrolling. Of cause, a good old two monitor setup should also be considered. It would also be cheaper than premium widescreens. Now, that being said - if you are willing and able to pay a premium price, the new LG 950 5k 2K would meet all your needs. Its massive screen size makes it highly immersive for playing and for work, with grwat clarity The screen (1m wide, 46cm high) can be segmented into multiple windows, e.g. one simulated vertical widescreen on the left for programming and two horizontal widescreens on the right for JIRA and TEAMs.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • UltraWide for Programming on a Mac and gaming on a PC? ->This review just made up my mind for me. Ordered. Thanks!
r/Monitors • the Samsung Odyssey 49" G9 G95SC and my Review ->Got it and love it, but having a bit of trouble running the G9 and a Neo G7 together. I use the G9 for games that support ultra wide but find that when I try to play games on my Neo G7 now it constantly reboots every 30 seconds or so.
r/Monitors • the Samsung Odyssey 49" G9 G95SC and my Review ->What an awesome opportunity! I reckon 40-50 is the sweet spot! I've used a Samsung G9 and found it a tad too big so I reckon a 45" will be golden!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->If you have room for triples I’d just go there. I had the g9 and went to triples. Would never go back.
r/simracing • What super ultra wide monitor is best for sim racing? ->It is a bit noticeable when the picture switches between light and dark, like looking at shadows in game. It takes some getting used to but once your eyes adjust to it you kinda forget about it. The panel is great otherwise, it’s quite bright and feels responsive. I have recently upgraded to a Samsung odyssey g9, which is an oled panel, but the gigabyte panel can surpass its brightness in full screen. (The oled panel is still brighter in smaller windows though) I still use my gigabyte monitor as a secondary display
r/Indiangamers • Looking for a 21:9 Ultrawide Curved Gaming Monitor with 144Hz at least (under 40k) ->G9 has no more negatives than any other monitor has. If it was trash no one would own them
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide Gaming Monitor in 2025? ->Samsung G9, best monitor I’ve owned
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Monitor Ultrawide: Your suggestion? ->G9 odyssey, I can never go back.
r/webdev • What's better, 34 or 38 inch Curved monitor? ->I got the Samsung Odyssey G9 on Black Friday and let me tell you it is so awesome. You have to go PiP mode if you’re gonna play a console game on it but still doing video/animation work on the ultra wide is luxurious as can be
r/macmini • Mac Mini with an ultrawide monitor? ->I bought 49” g9 a couple months back. I’ve been happy with it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Can anyone reccomend some good Ultrawide monitors in 2025? ->Buy what you can afford with what fits your situation. I bought mine on sale from Amazon for $900cad. Now it back to $2000. If mine didn’t come down so low I would have never bought it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Can anyone reccomend some good Ultrawide monitors in 2025? ->I just upgraded to a Samsung G9 49", but was using an Omen 34c, which is a 34" 21:9 monitor that runs at 165hz. I was able to get it for about $400, and I plan to send it with my son for his college dorm room as a second screen. Are you connecting to PC or console, or both? What video card do you have? EDIT: i just did a search on BestBuy as a sanity check. You can get refurbished on clearance under $200. Any new 27" monitor at 144hz-240hz, on sale, with minimum res of 2560x1440, is running $200+ That said, there were some good monitors on sale.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Any not super expensive 240hz ultrawide monitor? ->I've been rocking a 49" G9 for almost 5 years now and I decided about a year ago that my next monitor would be 21:9. The 32:9 is great, but I don't feel like I'd be less immersed with the new 45" UltraGear
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Super Ultrawide user considering Super Ultrawide vs Ultrawide (G9 OLED vs LG UltraGear 5K2K) ->Which mac do you have? I'm also interested in what resolution are you running it on? I'm currently on a Samsung G9 49", which is fantastic because I can have 3 windows open at any given moment, but I really dislike the VA panel and the 1440p resolution with low dpi. I would be willing to sacrifice the 3 window setup to two window setup if I can get HiDPI, and enjoy a retina-like experience. I'm currently on a MacBook M1 Max, but it seems like it cannot handle the 120hz of the U4025QW, so I would probably upgrade to either MacMini M4 Pro, or a Mac Studio M4 Max when that comes, hopefully that would be capable of running this screen properly.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What is the best big wide screen for a mac mini m4 pro? ->45” may just be the sweet spot. I use a 49” G9 and a 38GN950 which are both brilliant but in the middle could be a great compromise
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I’m on a 49 inch Samsung G9 5120x1440p. My old build 5950 & 3080 held reasonably well but did struggle at times.
r/pcmasterrace • Advice on (ultrawide) OLED monitor ->I almost went with an OLED, but I decided I didn't want to baby my display all the time and worry about burn in. I had a 49" Samsung Odyssey G9 previously. When it went out, I couldn't get myself to go with a smaller size and I really liked the 1000R curve, so I bought this year's version of the 49" Samsung G9 that Best Buy had on sale for $799.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Ultrawide monitor for someone scared of burn in ->I’m currently rocking the 49” Samsung Odyssey G9 which is a nice monitor and great for work. I love the space and it’s very nice for gaming. I’ve been considering this monitor because the down side of the G9 is I don’t have much space for monitors in the side. I have one stacked above it and it’s like cracking my neck every time to look up. Knowing the aspect resolution is smaller is enticing to me from a gaming perspective, most likely more frames. I have a 9800X3D and a 9070 XT. Would you still recommend this monitor for my use case? I literally just searched for reviews and found yours last night 😂
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 45GX950A Review – 5K2K OLED Is the CRAZIEST Gaming Monitor of 2025! ->Why would you have 143 fov? Are you sitting 6 inches from the screen? I have the same monitor and use 108
r/iRacing • Advice on PC Build for iRacing on a 49” Ultrawide Screen ->When I get that close, my eyes get crossed up lol. No idea how you can manage that but props to you
r/iRacing • Advice on PC Build for iRacing on a 49” Ultrawide Screen ->Get as big of screen as you can afford. I went from the 49" g9 to tripples and it's such a big difference. The 49" was good but still preferred vr since I couldn't see apexes. Now I have tripples I hardly use vr.
r/simracing • What super ultra wide monitor is best for sim racing? ->I would always go bigger. What I program (travel systems) isn’t important for resolution, but even with 49 G9, 27 portrait, and 55 (tv on wall behind), I could still go for more screen estate
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Choosing an ultrawide monitor for programming (and occasional gaming) - 49" vs. 57" dilemma ->I use my M1 MacBook Pro with my odyssey G9 at 5120x1440 and it handles it perfectly. I see no reason the m4 mini would have a problem.
r/macmini • How Mac Mini M4 works with ultra wide 49" screens (5120x1440)? ->I play on Borderless Display mode 2560x1440 240fps on my Samsung Oddyssey G9 UW. Playing on full screen just feels too much. Easier to focus on 16:9.
r/RocketLeague • Question for players playing with (ultra)wide monitors ->It would feel too short. The 49” G9 is a 27” 16:9 display in vertical height. The LG 45” 5k2k is a 36” 16:9 display in vertical height.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What is the best ultrawide in your opinion? ->Like the others said here, your monitor is too far imo. I have the same one above my wheelbase and its decently immersive. Maybe try that first!
r/simracing • Triple monitor advice ->I have no issues using my Samsung Odyssey G9 QHD with my Mac mini M4 Pro. It’s connected via Thunderbolt to DisplayPort, running 5120x1440 at 240Hz.
r/macmini • How Mac Mini M4 works with ultra wide 49" screens (5120x1440)? ->I went from 27" 1080p triples to a 49" G9 ultrawide. Only stayed on the ultrawide for a few months before upgrading again, this time to 32" 1440p triples. It's a night and day difference, not even close. The 49" is perfectly fine but it pales in comparison to triples.
r/simracing • 43" tv or 49" ultrawide monitor? ->Before buying my 49" inch G9 I heard the same kind of reviews from various sources - that the curve of the screen is difficult for the eyes to get used to, among other things. I did enough research to come to the conclusion that those reviews were total bullshit. After receiving mine, I now think that those reviews were *surely* paid by competing companies as the 49" G9 is literally *perfect* for the eyes. I suspect that the same thing is happening here.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->Yeah I dunno, the 49” has the same sort of thing going on with sort of flat ends. It’s not noticeable and it’s probably intentional to improve UX.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->49” G9 with M4 mac mini running display port connection works nicely when it works. The constant disconnecting from the back USB C port is a giant pain.
r/macmini • Mac Mini with an ultrawide monitor? ->I have this monitor along with a 7800x3D and a 4090. With nearly max graphics and depending on the number of other cars on track, I average 170-220 fps at about 143 fov. So based on what you’re wanting, I’d say this is the hardware you want. There is no future proofing with that monitor running 240hz. Basically the next gen of chips/gpus (9800x3D + 5090) will be future proofing, because by then you’ll be maxing out your 240hz monitor.
r/iRacing • Advice on PC Build for iRacing on a 49” Ultrawide Screen ->Yeah not sure. I also have the g9 49” and absolutely love it. I also have the crg9 49” and the lack of curve is pretty noticeable. Much prefer the g9. Sounds like the 57” might be somewhere in between. I’d like to see one in person but can’t find it anywhere.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Why I'm returning my 57-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 ->I mean it really depends on what your standards are here. You're looking at like somewhere around 110 PPI which is pretty average and on par or better than most standard monitors you'd see in cubicles at companies that people work on every day. Perfectly serviceable but in this day and age we are spoiled with 300+ PPI screens on some of our devices so now we can notice the difference in text sharpness especially between the two so that's either something that bothers you or it doesn't. I'd say you're absolutely fine. I use the G9 5120x1440p and that's 110 PPI and is text blurrier than my phone or iPad? Yes. I can notice it if I pay attention and look at it but it doesn't bother me and I think it still looks great.. another person would see the density and never unsee the less than perfectly crisp text.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Asking about pixel density on a 34 inch 1440p ultrawide. ->Id vote samsung, 1000r is awesome and I trust them more then asus.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Which 34" Ultrawide would you pick? ->I recently went through this when upgrading my screen about 6 months ago. Do I want an ultrawide? Absolutely. Would I design on an ultrawide? No I would not. Most ultrawides have too aggressive of a curve to be suitable for design work in my opinion. If it's a mild curve >1500R it might be okay. I tried experimenting with a 1000R Samsung and just couldn't hang with the amount of distortion. I ended up getting a non curved 32" 16:9 4K instead. It's right at the edge of what I consider comfortable as far as seeing the far edges of the display. I do absolutely love the increased real estate of using a smaller GUI scaling.
r/graphic_design • Has anyone got experience using an ultrawide monitor? ->Yes that 49" Samsung G9 is the best monitor out there. You can nicely fit 3 windows next to each other. Sometimes I will even do a 2:1:2 split With docs, terminal, code, preview, devtools Sometimes I wish the radius was slightly curved less because I like to sit close to the screen but then It is wider than my field of view. The more shallow version had much worse specs though. Still awesome though. I couldn't believe they had them on sale for $800 \~2 years ago. PS the 55" ARK and the new one look interesting as well but I don't know about the aspect ratio. They are closer to a TV panel.
r/webdev • What's better, 34 or 38 inch Curved monitor? ->Exactly what I think. There is so much room for activities.
r/webdev • What's better, 34 or 38 inch Curved monitor? ->I have a MacBook Air M3 and I use it with my Samsung G9 49inch monitor by connecting it from USB-C to DisplayPort and it works like a charm. Warning: not every cable works with the M3 chip so be aware to buy a good one. Tip: install the free program called Loop for your window management.
r/macbookair • Use with a super ultra wide monitor ->I second this. I use the same set up and essentially split the screen into 3 monitors. As my main layout I have the main center area take up about ~40% and the side areas take up ~30% each. Fancy zones also lets you have different layouts so the percent values actually change depending on what I’m doing but generally I have it as described above. Side note for OP, gaming can be wonky on a 49 inch ultra wide
r/VisualStudio • Visual Studio and ultrawide monitors ->I have a Samsung 49" wide, curved, gaming monitor (5120 x 1440) I also use for work. With Windows PowerToys Fancy Zones, it's a great way to lay out windows.
r/VisualStudio • Visual Studio and ultrawide monitors ->49” Samsung odyssey
r/AskProgramming • Thoughts on Ultrawide monitors for coding ->I have a mac mini M1 on a 49" 5120x1440 monitor and i am never going back.
r/macmini • Mac Mini with an ultrawide monitor? ->It's not tall, it is just really really \*really\* wide (whole width of my desk), which is amazing for how I work. Would not work well as a TV at all ;)
r/macmini • Mac Mini with an ultrawide monitor? ->I have a Samsung 49" 5120x1440. Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB DDR4. I used to have a 2080ti which could get 60-100FPS in space, 30-40 FPS on the ground. A mix of settings per the guidance from the nVidia GeForce Experience app. I upgraded to a 4080 and am now locked at 120FPS in space, and 60-75FPS on the ground. Weirdly, when on the ground and not hitting the 120FPS cap, none of my components are bottlenecked in any way (I'm running an Aida64 sensor panel on another screen). GPU Power, RAM, frequency, VRAM, utilisation, all well below max. No CPU thread more than 25-30%. I don't know why it can't run at the full locked FPS.
r/EliteDangerous • CMDRs running Ultrawide monitors, what Monitor and Graphics cards do you use? ->I use a Samsung 49" and dell ultasharp 27 " best to open ArcGIS pro on one monitor, and connect both windows and Mac and still have additional monitor. But that might go over $400.
r/gis • Monitor Suggestions ->my current desk is 55.1" x 23.6", a bit off from your dimensions i used to run dual 32" for content consumption and gaming(both console and PC), i did run dual monitor arms for the displays and to me it didn't feel like they both were too wide for my desk with them going over a bit on each side. gaming and web browsing were the priority for that setup. next setup was with an 49" Samsung(for gaming and productivity), the dual 32s' mounted to the wall atop the 49" were for things like discord, emails and web browsing. though i enjoyed all the screen real estate, it didn't last long and thoughts of sizing down became paramount. i thought "how about" an single 34" but having 32" displays it didn't feel right, then i thought 45" LG Ultragear OLED but after owning the 49" (to me) that was still a tad bit wide for what i wanted. i ended up with an newly purchased(earlier this month) 39" LG Ultragear OLED. FOR ME it checks all the things i was looking for as far as size, specs and use. I use it for photo/video editing via my new mac mini m4 and def for FPS gaming(again console and PC). HDR when gaming has been an eye opener and game changer on this display. in my opinion, the 39" compliments MY desk's dimensions. On an monitor arm and positioned directly in the middle of the desk at arms length. haha, sorry for the looong read. good luck with whatever you decide.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best size ultra-wide monitor for a 48” x 30” desk (Work and gaming)? ->This company started off making high end portable oled monitors, I used to have one. This particular one is just the samsung 49" panel with their electronics powering it. Should be reliable.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Has anyone ever herd of this brand before? Anyone actually own this monitor? Seems like a great deal for a 32:9 OLED. ->Agreed I would go 57" I have had a Samsung 49"curved and now a philips 49m2c8900.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Choosing an ultrawide monitor for programming (and occasional gaming) - 49" vs. 57" dilemma ->I use a 49 inch samsung monitor. For regular gaming: its great and very immersive. Games that support it look great. Mechwarrior with it looks great because you really feel like youre in the cockpit. Downside of having such a big monitor is that the UI sometimes goes to the very sides of the screen, which is really annoying when you need to see the data on the screen. It makes you move your eyes off the center where the main focus should be. Some games like armoed core 6 actually centered the UI towards the midde instead of having the HUD on the edges. It was a great surprise when i was playing it. Also, some games dont support the full resolution and will give you black bars on the side. Examples that come to mind is Street Fighter and Diablo 4. As for sim racing, its very immersive but you still dont get the complete FOV triples would get you. Another trade off is the verticle height of the monitor. Ultrawides are usually wider, but not taller. Taller monitors can give you a little more distance in the window, a better view of the approaching hill. If that makes any sense…. However, the good thing is, its only 1 monitor to run. So not too bad on performance. Easy to set up and takes less space than triples would. Personally, if i had a massive amount of space, i would build a dedicated sim rig with a triple screen set up. But for now, i use my 49inch with a wheelstand on my desk, sonce thats all the space i have. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions!
r/simracing • Is a super ultra wide monitor worth it? ->I've played it on both my Gigabyte 34" screen, as well as my Samsung 49" display. It's absolutely glorious to look at.
r/starcitizen • Ultrawide screen for SC, any recommendations? ->I have an Ultrawide curved 49in Samsung monitor and it’s awesome.
r/mac • An ultrawide curved monitor suitable for a Mac – does this exist at all? ->2 different 49" samsung models both died on me in about a year. Would not recommend, neither was OLED.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide monitor? price not an issue. ->2 different 49" samsung models both died on me in about a year. Would not recommend, neither was OLED.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide monitor? price not an issue. ->Yep I use the Samsung G9 57 and the 49 before that. Picture By Picture works brilliantly for work and then I change to a single display for gaming.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Super ultrawide that acts as two true monitors? ->I started on the Samsung 49” for editing and loved it. Same real estate as 2 27” monitors. The curve didn’t bother me at all. I decided to splurge and got the Samsung 57” ultra wide and I love it even more. It’s equivalent to 2 32” 4K monitors side by side. I also prefer it to the 49” because it’s noticeably taller than the 49”. The 49” sometimes felt a bit narrow.
r/editors • Curved monitors? ->Got Samsung 49” monster, 1080p. It’s pretty good, I haven’t really encountered any problematic games aside from Souls, Elden Ring, Sekiro. And even those can be fixed via open source software. Surprisingly, all Resident evils, ( even RE5 ) are supporting the resolution. Can’t even imagine playing on anything else anymore. CS 2 is a bit of a wreck though
r/DotA2 • Are there ultrawide monitor gamers here? ->The only disadvantage is it’s heavy asf, and due to my table being from IKEA, can’t mount it with arm in fear of table giving in to pressure. Also the leg basically takes up the whole table
r/DotA2 • Are there ultrawide monitor gamers here? ->why not both? i have the samsungs 49in monitor next to my gigabyte 27in
r/excel • Two monitors or ultrawide? What is everyone using? ->I think Samsung probably has more issues than other brands, but it gets blown out of proportion. I've had a Samsung 49 since 2020 which my wife now uses and the Samsung 57 since it launched without any issues.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 57" Ultrawide? ->We have the 49” Samsung and love it.
r/simracing • 43" tv or 49" ultrawide monitor? ->I built a setup just like this and when I put it together I realized it was terrible. Returned the TV and got a 49" ultrawide Samsung instead, much happier with it
r/simracing • 43" tv or 49" ultrawide monitor? ->I ran a 49 Samsung and a 43 Samsung side by side. The curvature allows a lot more for your eyes to take in. I like being able to see a wider field of view in FPS games. Diablo 3/4 are also a lot of fun when you can see what would normally be off screen. https://preview.redd.it/obe5ikwbhmid1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65c17f44122b2d6e3f68b865079f367abf30a202
r/pcmasterrace • To gamers who game on ultra-wide monitors: why? ->I got it on sale for $1399 @ B&H. I probably looked at every other monitor above 34" out there. Test drove a 49 Samsung for a while, even tried the 57 but it was way too big for my desk.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Dell U4025 still the best productivity monitor? ->The Alienware for sure.... was in between that one, LG 45' and the G9. No regrets.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 34" Ultrawide now ? ->You could even go for the G9. But only AW has burn in warranty. And that's a real game changer.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 34" Ultrawide now ? ->I use the odyssey G9 32:9 1440 , First part is somewhat right, my postman thought its a mini fridge. it absolutely is bigger than a coffee table, one of the biggest reasons why I can't bring it to my girlfriends house, as there is no table there strong enough to hold it. it is very immersive, it's not a flat screen so when you're looking at say destiny 2, you would have your normal screen at 16:9 , but in the corner of your eyes the border wouldn't exist, it would be more screen, 50% more to the left and to the right.(32:9) If you're playing CSGO, you have a lot more advantage, in some cases when you see 1 door, I'll see 3 doors and the entire room. Racing games also super immersive. Added picture as example. https://preview.redd.it/5loc9833ylid1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c12eaf38f932263bf66fe2b48d14356ede42b5b6
r/pcmasterrace • To gamers who game on ultra-wide monitors: why? ->21:9 I got a 32:9 and I’m regretting it 😭. Going to return it anyway back to Samsung
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I'm running a Samsung Odyssey 32:9 at 3840x1080, graphics set to ultra. I have a Ryzen 7 3800X cpu with an RX 6750X, and 32 gb of ram. So essentially a 6 year old processor with a 3 year old gpu. I get right at 144 fps consistently in space and about 100-135-ish on foot.
r/EliteDangerous • CMDRs running Ultrawide monitors, what Monitor and Graphics cards do you use? ->
