Yeah i recently got the 40 inch G7 5k2k only for office work running of M1 Air. The extra screen and being able to open 4 excel sheets is amazing. I can do my work so much faster without having to switch between windows. PPI is the thing you need for office work. Other option is the Dell Ultrasharp but those are insanely expensive as well as LG 5k2k monitors.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Ultrawide 34 recomendation for work and games ->Based on what i have heard, the alienware is a better option with better warranty. If you arr getting it solely for productivity, you wont feel too much of a upgrade going from dual 24" to a single 34" in terms of screen real estate. Plus you also need a high resolution to get the highest PPI possible for best text clarity. The 5k2k panels on the market are the go to for producivity such as the Dell Ultrasharp, LG 5k2k, Samsung G75F. I got the 40" G75F 5k2k recently for my office and it is amazing to open 4 excel sheets side by side. The extra screen is a big boost for my productivity.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Need advise on 34" curved monitors ->If you are fine with 40 inches, there is the new Samsung G7 5k2k panel which is amazing for productivity. Should be good for gaming but i use it for work specifically in my office.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Monitor Suggestion for Office/gaming ->I have this monitor, coming from a QD-OLED G80SD. This is going to be a polarizing product for folks, and that’s fine. It’s a very niche use-case monitor. 40 inch 5k2k is absolutely the sweet spot for productivity. I’ve owned 4k32, 1440p 34 inch and 49 inch 1440p and by far this one feels the best. The right mix of more horizontal and vertical space. I have a thunderbolt dock so the appeal of the Dell and LG 5k2k models is less than for others probably, and their lackluster game performance is a deal breaker. I may only get a few hours a week to game, but I want to enjoy those hours, and I feel like I get that here. Yes it’s a VA panel but it’s a very good one. I am not overly sensitive to smearing so I don’t really see it, but maybe others will. Overall picture quality is very good. Is it objectively as good as OLED? No, but it’s much better than any IPS screen by a long shot with contrast and blacks. Colors to my eyes are good with a few tweaks. I do photo editing so I have a Spyder to calibrate with as well. HDR performance is decent (using RTX HDR I got better results than windows auto HDR). Text definitely feels better to read than on the G80SD despite the same pixel density. At this price, I think this is good value. I don’t feel like I need to babysit the monitor anymore which is really quite nice when working after having done it for the past year on the OLED. I’m quite happy with it. I’m probably 80/20 productivity and gaming, sometimes 90/10 or 100/0. My two cents anyway.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor]Samsung Odyssey G7 (G75F) 40" 5k2k Ultrawide Monitor - $749.99 - all time low ->I’ve shared my feedback on other posts but will reiterate here given there aren’t many reviews or real world experience users out there to share. For context, I’ve spent the last couple of years on OLED, first the Alienware 3423dw, then the MSI mpg321urx and a Samsung G80sd. I’ve also tried (and returned) the MSI and Samsung 49 inch super ultra wides. I “downgraded” to the g75f 40 and it’s been a pleasant surprise for me. I like it way more than I thought I would and giving up perfect blacks was a lot easier to do. Part of that may be because I don’t play a lot of really dark games, but I think part of it is this monitor has really good contrast. Colors seem great and calibrating with my Calbrite went well. My use case is 80% productivity and 20% gaming, maybe 90/10 or 100/0 on really busy weeks. I can’t understate how much easier it is on my eyes after a 10 or 12 hour day of spreadsheets and legal memos. Not having to set low brightness to avoid burn in helps with that I’m sure. Not having to hide taskbars, keep a bland black background are pluses for general usability/ enjoyment. The 5k2k and 40 inch form factor feels best for productivity, and while the Dell or LG IPS monitors have more productivity features, most of their convenience is covered by my work issued thunderbolt dock. Viewing angles aren’t nearly as good comparing to OLED but in practical use I’ve not had any issues. On occasion at the farthest edge of the screen I can see slight brightness / gamma shift. But otherwise, I sit in front of my monitor and haven’t found it problematic. Overall, seems to strike the right balance of productivity, gaming, and peace of mind for my admittedly very fringe use case/needs. At $676 all in with Samsung EPP through my work, I feel like I get good value out of it. Not worth it at retail or really anything above $850 in my opinion. I know the “OLED or die” crowd will pan it as poor value and for the gaming enthusiasts/ priority buyer, I’m sure it is bad value. But if you fall in a similar use case as me, I’d recommend giving it a shot if you get it on sale, you might be surprised. Worst thing that can happen is you don’t like it and return it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • G75f is a winner ->Just know that if you're trying to do a split screen with dual inputs, expect one side to go off often. Its a known problem with the odyssey series
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor]Samsung Odyssey G7 (G75F) 40" 5k2k Ultrawide Monitor - $749.99 - all time low ->I would look at the Samsung 40 g75. It’s not as feature rich. But it’s half the price. Or the innocn. But if you’re planning on having the monitor for a long time. It’s worth the money and a good investment. I have the Samsung and I love the size compared to my previous 34 ultrawide
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Getting Dell U4025QW. Did i pick wrong one? Productivity only ->I just picked mine up for $675 as well!
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor]Samsung Odyssey G7 (G75F) 40" 5k2k Ultrawide Monitor - $749.99 - all time low ->I just picked on up and I love it. Price was right and it had almost everything I needed. Wish it had a thunderbolt/usb input. Otherwise - picture is great. Works nicely with my Mac and Pc. Mounted it clean.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • G75f is a winner ->Thanks for that insight. Ive been watching for price drops on this and finally pulled the trigger. Im coming from the 49 inch CRG9 and my need for the horizontal real estate dwindled over the years. I really wish they had a 45 inch but saw the 40 inch at Microcenter and think it'll be ok. I'm 80/20 productivity/gaming nowadays too.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor]Samsung Odyssey G7 (G75F) 40" 5k2k Ultrawide Monitor - $749.99 - all time low ->There's a fair number of folks who don't want an OLED for productivity and don't want the Dell IPS for gaming. This was way overpriced at launch and they have been consistently cutting this. I think this is a good price considering the lack of options in the 5k2k productivity/gaming niche.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor]Samsung Odyssey G7 (G75F) 40" 5k2k Ultrawide Monitor - $749.99 - all time low ->i tried it out alongside my 5k2k , it’s terrible.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 5K2K ultrawide for both gaming AND productivity? Direct side by side comparison between LG UltraGear GX9 5K2K 45" and Dell 40" U4025QW ->had that monitor , junk compared to my lg 5k2k . once you go oled you can never go back . but i get it for text clarity.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • G75f is a winner ->partner store is 1200 , g75f is 750 . that’s not double ?
r/ultrawidemasterrace • G75f is a winner ->It's a shame you don't like the Samsung GF75 because this is my current favorite monitor right now for both productivity and gaming. Yes the viewing angle is the worst compared to my qd oled and ips, but as long as you sit in front of it I think it looks fantastic. Blacks and contrast are so much better than my ips and it gets so much brighter than my qd oled. I own a qd oled, mini led and ips, and I've been using the GF75 more exclusively. I have a 4090 and it runs 5k2k fine and I use DLSS on all my games anyway.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What 5k2k ultrawide to get that has good colors for gaming with upcoming black friday sales current monitors ASUS ProArt PA32UCG-K and Eizo ColorEdge CG319X ->My GF75 has great blacks and contrast since it’s a VA and I’m quite happy with it. In fact I have a Dell AW32 qd oled and compared to it and was more than happy with the blacks that I decided to box my AW32 since it’s so dim and I prefer the GF’s brightness and uw format. Sitting straight infront of it you will really appreciate it. I own an AW32 qd oled, an Apple Thunderbolt Display and a Neo G8 miniled. If you’re color purist then yeah the GF75 might not be your best option and I don’t know your use case. I mainly use design tools like Figma and I have my Thunderbolt Display next to my GF75 and was able to adjust the settings enough to see if I can get it as close as I can to it and to me it was close enough that I was more than happy to use the GF for my Figma work plus the 5k2k resolution and UW is great to work on. Being able to work on Figma and have room on the side to have Reddit and video app running is such a great experience :)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What 5k2k ultrawide to get that has good colors for gaming with upcoming black friday sales current monitors ASUS ProArt PA32UCG-K and Eizo ColorEdge CG319X ->I have 40" 5k2k with 1000r curve and I think 800r might be better. I'm also close to 100% productivity use.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Looking for 5K2K with 1800R ->https://imgur.com/gallery/g7-plus-g8-nJzoLFe Center is the Samsung g7 40” 21:9 Left is the 32” neo g8 mini led The curve is 1000R so you may not want it but the picture quality is very good.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Black Friday, 21x9 38-45" recommendation low curve ->I’ve moved onto the G75F as my main monitor in the past month. It’s excellent, the text quality is noticeably sharper than my 32” 4K WOLED because of the standard subpixel layout. It’s edge lit so you can’t expect miracles with deep blacks, but for productivity it’s hard to beat, especially considering it’s a fraction of the price of other 5k2ks. The amount of desktop real estate you get with 5k2k makes it hard to go back to 32” 4K. It’s also 180hz compared to 165hz on the LG 45 OLED and vastly better PPI - ~140 vs ~110. The curve is a little aggressive but you get used to it quickly. I recommend it.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 5K2K ultrawide for both gaming AND productivity? Direct side by side comparison between LG UltraGear GX9 5K2K 45" and Dell 40" U4025QW ->Samsung G75F 40” 5k2k VA display. I’ll update my comment to clarify.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 5K2K ultrawide for both gaming AND productivity? Direct side by side comparison between LG UltraGear GX9 5K2K 45" and Dell 40" U4025QW ->Brightness is the same as the G8 at 350 nits. It’s not going to compare to the 1200 nits peak brightness of the titan army, but I have no complaints with the brightness personally. Colours are not quite OLED level, but still pretty great. Blacks are not excellent but it’s edge lit, so that’s expected. Blacks are much better than I’ve seen on IPS but still a step back from pixels literally off with OLED.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 5K2K ultrawide for both gaming AND productivity? Direct side by side comparison between LG UltraGear GX9 5K2K 45" and Dell 40" U4025QW ->I have this monitor and bought through work at even a bigger discount. (675\~) I feel this is THE monitor for 60/40 or 80/20 gamers who want a good static content productivity monitor, but also something that is immersive for the casual gamer. OLEDs with burn in just don't make sense. I get that pixel shift and preventions have come a long way, but its still guaranteed to burn in, and some of productivity users cannot function efficiently without split window, taskbar always showing, etc.... This monitor solves all that. Yes, there is the 57 inch neo from Samsung but the 40 inch G7 is probably better for most people as its cheaper, less massive and honestly supported way more for games and apps due to the 21:9 aspect ration (vs 32:9). The only reason I would recommend the 57 inch is if you consistently need 3 windows open side by side. I had a 49 inch and found I actually wasn't utilizing it to its full potential (other than in sim racing games) The VA panel was my big concern, but after a few days of use I can confirm its probably the best VA panel I've owned. I have owned TN, VA, OLED (49 inch), and IPS. I would say IPS is still the best but with response time on extreme, I have had no downsides when it came to text clarity or text shadowing compared to the IPS (other than sunlight glare is slightly worse). Are the blacks as inky as OLED?....no. Is the smearing noticeable in fast paced FPS games? ya kind of... but you get used to it. I think the complaints of VA panels are from people who are used to the older models or are going from a daily use OLED that haven't tried out new Samsung models. I truly believe that this monitor is THE sweet spot when it comes to a productivity/gaming monitor. The only downside is the price but Samsung has been very generous with sales on this. So get it while its still under the radar!
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor]Samsung Odyssey G7 (G75F) 40" 5k2k Ultrawide Monitor - $749.99 - all time low ->Funny enough I'm considering the 40" for home for gaming and want to use it to replace my 49". I prefer the vertical space to the horizontal. The added horizontal on the 49 isn't worth the lack of vertical for me! But, I also know that because I have a 38" I use for work so I can see what a 40" would look like. I currently have my 49" listed. Just my 2 cents since I have screens of similar sizes to both to compare it to.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 5k2k 40" vs 5k 1440p 49" for productivity - resolution vs physical dimensions ->I just bought it for $675 Samsung EDU. The deal was too good to beat.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The nightmare that is finding an IPS in 2025 vs VA and OLED. ->I saw someone post about $1,200 with Samsung EDU/EPP. I went with the G7 40" 5k2k for $676 and I'm pretty happy.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The 57” Neo has changed everything for me. ->I just bought one of these 2 days ago and I'm loving it so far. Like others said, this might be the only 4k+ non-OLED monitor on the market with good refresh/response times (and a large enough size to not require desktop scaling). It's perfect for people who want good gaming performance but still want to use the monitor for productivity the majority of the time. And best buy actually refunded the difference between what I paid and the current sale price.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor]Samsung Odyssey G7 (G75F) 40" 5k2k Ultrawide Monitor - $749.99 - all time low ->The G75F is 180Hz. The G9 is 240Hz. Same response times, though.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor]Samsung Odyssey G7 (G75F) 40" 5k2k Ultrawide Monitor - $749.99 - all time low ->I would have went with the G9 if it wasn't so big. The 49" would have barely been acceptable if it wasn't OLED.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor]Samsung Odyssey G7 (G75F) 40" 5k2k Ultrawide Monitor - $749.99 - all time low ->Coming from my old Seiki se39uy04 (custom firmware), it feels pretty good. I've seen better, but it's totally playable. I played ARC Raiders on it last night with my RTX 2070, and I didn't notice any smearing. I probably wouldn't recommend it for hardcore gamers, but they should be using OLED anyway. This monitor is primarily for productivity users who want to casually play games with it.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor]Samsung Odyssey G7 (G75F) 40" 5k2k Ultrawide Monitor - $749.99 - all time low ->I’ve had this for about a month and it’s fantastic for productivity. I haven’t had a chance to game on it yet but for work, it’s been great. [Samsung 40” Odyssey G7.](https://a.co/d/2Pzt0bb)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The nightmare that is finding an IPS in 2025 vs VA and OLED. ->Picked one up two weeks ago and have been pleasantly surprised. I usually prefer 2x 27s for work, but this is nearly a perfect monitor for downgrading to one ultra wide. Text is very clear, haven’t gamed on it at all yet but the picture is great. I’m currently using it as one monitor, not using PBP. Setting that up was giving me issues with my dock, so using it as “one monitor” and just rearranging windows works fine.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • G75f is a winner ->Height, this is smaller than a 32". 5K2K is a 21:9 aspect while 'typical' is 16:10. I personally think it feels smaller than a 32" as a result, being more comparable to a 27" or 28" but easier to read across databases and large spreadsheets.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor]Samsung Odyssey G7 (G75F) 40" 5k2k Ultrawide Monitor - $749.99 - all time low ->Same here, I am remote half the week and work 10-12 hours per day on my LG and no issues at all. My last monitor was a Neo G7.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best 5K2K ultrawide for both gaming AND productivity? Direct side by side comparison between LG UltraGear GX9 5K2K 45" and Dell 40" U4025QW ->Where did the list come from? This was provided from your employer, or you generated this based upon the budget allowed? If you are staring at this for work.... well..... I would take a screen that will make that easier, and gaming second. The new Samsung 40" 5k2k is pretty nice (even though it's a VA panel).
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Need Help Choosing an Ultrawide for Gaming & Work – Employer’s Hooking Me Up ->Have a G9 49" OLED stacked on top of a 57". Contemplated going with the 45" LG as a replacement, but to be honest, the 57" is pretty amazing. I'm actually going to switch out the 49" OLED for the new Samsung 5k2k 40" since I mainly use it as a secondary info monitor. My issues for the 45": the curve for productivity is too much.... and for a 1300 to 1900 dollar monitor, it should have had KVM and a better DP built in (only supports UHBR13.5). TL;DR: I would go 57" for productivity >= gaming. 45" if gaming >> productivity.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Let’s talk LG 5K2K OLED ->The display itself of the 49" is top notch. The "smart" software is absolutely annoying, with a very annoying blue screen reminder when about to sleep, and reminders about smart home BS all the time. I only use it as a second screen thankfully, so I'm not hit with some of the other owner's frustrations. Also the 49" only has a dumb USB hub; KVM should be a no brainer at this price point and intended use.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Let’s talk LG 5K2K OLED ->Nope. Hence why I'm taking mine back today and trading it out the the 40" 5k2k Samsung that was just released.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Let’s talk LG 5K2K OLED ->it is not actually. It's a VA panel (albeit a good one apparently.) Previous thread: [https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/comments/1msmrfj/has\_anyone\_bought\_the\_new\_odyssey\_g7\_40\_5k2k/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/comments/1msmrfj/has_anyone_bought_the_new_odyssey_g7_40_5k2k/)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Let’s talk LG 5K2K OLED ->What are you going to be using it for? If you are going 32:9, then the 57" is a no brainer. If you are going 21:9, then either the lg 45" 5k2k, or the Samsung 40" 5k2k, depending on budget and curve pref.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Just bought the 49" G9 OLED. Having some serious buyer remorse. ->Id vote samsung, 1000r is awesome and I trust them more then asus.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Which 34" Ultrawide would you pick? ->I recently went through this when upgrading my screen about 6 months ago. Do I want an ultrawide? Absolutely. Would I design on an ultrawide? No I would not. Most ultrawides have too aggressive of a curve to be suitable for design work in my opinion. If it's a mild curve >1500R it might be okay. I tried experimenting with a 1000R Samsung and just couldn't hang with the amount of distortion. I ended up getting a non curved 32" 16:9 4K instead. It's right at the edge of what I consider comfortable as far as seeing the far edges of the display. I do absolutely love the increased real estate of using a smaller GUI scaling.
r/graphic_design • Has anyone got experience using an ultrawide monitor? ->I can’t go back from 49’. I bought a MacBook to work when I’m away from my desk but could not gel with the small workspace and so much scrolling…. I started with 34 on the path of Ultrawide with the predator x34 and the all the Samsung odyssey monitors. I look forward to LG’s 5k2k monitor.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is 34" ultrawide.. dying? ->Yeah you'll be fine, I'm running an odyssey and it smashes anything I throw at it. And I think my processor is a little slower than yours. Oh and my gpu too 😂
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ?
->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
