Thought this was r/ultrawidemasterrace and was wondering why everyone was commenting on just the screen size. 😂 Glad it’s supported. I play on a G8 so I have more support than you in general but sometimes devs make terrible decisions. (Looking at you, square enix)
r/Battlefield6 • Perfect Super Ultrawide support. ->I'm happy with my Samsung G85SD, matte panel coating, but "only" 175hz. AW3425DW (240hz) should be the best out there if you find it cheap, from [dell.com](http://dell.com) you should get -10% using DELL320 code. But OLEDs are not future proof as pixels get slowly dimmer in time...
r/Monitors • Best OLED ultrawide under $900 CAD for gaming + Photoshop? ->Both gen 1 and gen 3 versions are amazing monitors. I have the Gen 1 G8 and to me it's no big deal using the micro ports for HDMI 2.1 but I could see why some people complain about it. Gen 1 G8 HDR performance is still bright and good enough for any games. If you're buying new get the Gen 3 no questions asked it's just the better panel and full connectors for HDMI 2.1 and Display Ports. Also the Gen 3 panels have all the improvements for text clarity and the improvements for HDR so it's all win win there. Actually now doing some research not really sure if it has the Gen 3 panel lol. Since those are the 240hz and yeah the panel coating differences. All I can say is the glossy on the gen 1 is damn beautiful for any content way better than LG's nasty matte coating. Haven't tried the new panel on the refresh on the G8 so i cannot really comment on that.

r/OLED_Gaming • Thoughts on buying a Samsung G85SD OLED Ultrawide. ->UPDATE: I ended up buying the Samsung G8 34inch OLED and I gotta say that it was definitely the right choice! The immersion in games is massively increased with the ultrawide and I don't know how I would go back to normal screens now. Thanks for the comments :)
r/buildapc • 4k 27inch OLED or 2k 34inch curved ultra-wide for gaming ->I went back and forth between this and the samsung G8. Go with this. The OS software on the Samsung monitor is dumb af. I regret not sticking with this AW instead.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] Alienware - AW3423DWF 34" QD-OLED Curved 165Hz .1-ms Ultrawide FreeSync Gaming Monitor - $649.99 (Best Buy) ->Mini ports don't matter to me. Set it up once and never touched it again. When I bought them they were within 50 bucks of each other. Mine was 698 new from best buy.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] Alienware - AW3423DWF 34" QD-OLED Curved 165Hz .1-ms Ultrawide FreeSync Gaming Monitor - $649.99 (Best Buy) ->It comes with a mini DP cable, so you're good there. My main gripe is that it shows the "standby" screen constantly when starting up, or changing monitors or anything. I have to restart my pc after I start it up to get into bios. If I ever need to get into my bios immediately cause windows isnt working, I'll have to go grab another monitor.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] Alienware - AW3423DWF 34" QD-OLED Curved 165Hz .1-ms Ultrawide FreeSync Gaming Monitor - $649.99 (Best Buy) ->I have the g8 and its great. Fwiw
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does anyone have this monitor and recommend it? ->I have the G8 ultrawide (so one step between that one and a 16:9). I love it for productivity and am really happy with it for games (except for those that don't support ultrawide which is an annoying thing). My biggest gripe is the UI and I don't know if the interface for the G9 is the same. I'd guess it probably is because it feels so lazy that I imagine they just slapped it on yours too. If you're not switching inputs or unhooking and reattaching a laptop all the time then you probably won't notice. But if you are you'll find there are a lot of annoying menus that you can't permanently get rid of and too many extra steps to do simple things like changing inputs. All in all I have been tempted to find a monitor with the same OLED tech but by a different brand in the hopes that they do interface stuff better. But I've also used it for about two years now so I guess it's not a total deal breaker.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does anyone have this monitor and recommend it? ->You make a valid point. Most monitors seem pretty good but I don't honestly know the difference between a productivity monitor and gaming. I've got a Samsung G8 34" Ultrawide OLED, but that thing is terrible to read text on. I would absolutely not recommend it for your use case. I'd prob recommend reading reviews. I tend to think most monitors are pretty good these days. There's a sub "buildapcsales" that lists deals and all sorts of things. slickdeals is also a great website just for the comment section on items.
r/buildapc • Need Advice - Curved Ultrawide Monitor (<$600) ->You should wait for LG 39 inch version which i think will be released by April 2026. I have LG 45 inch 5k2k and it’s amazing for gaming and for watching videos (it feels like an IMAX for some reason), for productivity i still prefer my other Samsung oled 34 inch.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is LG 45in 5k2k worth considering if I don’t get game and just want it for productivity? ->Just got myself a 34" g8 oled. While that's a good monitor i feel like it's about perfect size for gaming BUT a bit small for productivity. I think my sweet spot is going to be somewhere between 38" and 49". While resolution is great I need to say that I'm spoiled with the higher pixel density of my macbook pro. Same comes to colors - they are great but until i start to compare side by side with the macbook screen. Doing 2-4 hours of gaming in free time + productivity/coding in work time
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->You sure? Is it connected via HDMI or DP? My G8 goes 165Hz via DP but only 100 via HDMI
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Samsung G9 49” OLED 144Hz ->I have the Samsung g8 oled 175 hz which at the time basically was the same panel as the Alienware dwf and there were a couple more. However, I believe since they have released newer models from more brands which support higher refresh rates, Nits and better safer panel technology. So if I were you I’d recommend looking around, I don’t think Samsung has a new one to replace my model yet but they might but the caveat of Samsung is they don’t give warranty on screen burn in. If you going oled though I typically set a plain back background, auto hide taskbar and keep no app icons on desktop with fallback screen sleep of 5 mins. Which reduces the risk of burn in dramatically but I think the newer panel models are a lot more resilient anyway. But yeah 2 years or so with this monitor and it was one of the best purchases I ever made. Once you go ultrawide you won’t go back and the vertical screen works a charm you can stack 3 apps reasonably comfortably with this format like discord, YouTube, and a music player or text document etc. once you go ultrawide though you will find yourself a lot less distracted by your side screen since it’s naturally more immersive. Right now though I don’t have my 27 inch vertical just next to it as hdmi loads after display port and I was doing bios tweaking and that sucks with vertical haha
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Looking for ultrawide monitor advice, is it worth switching from dual 27” 1440p? ->Yep, I'm aware. Just figured I'd share the sale with others in case anyone else values current deals over possible future deals. Ordered a G85SD a few days ago for $30 cheaper and decided to get this one as well to compare and decide which one I want to keep.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] Alienware - AW3423DWF 34" QD-OLED Curved 165Hz .1-ms Ultrawide FreeSync Gaming Monitor - $649.99 (Best Buy) ->Wish I could tell you, but I have the same dilemma. I bought the G85SD a few days ago and should have it on Wednesday. Purchased this shortly before posting and will pick it up from the local BB today.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] Alienware - AW3423DWF 34" QD-OLED Curved 165Hz .1-ms Ultrawide FreeSync Gaming Monitor - $649.99 (Best Buy) ->Yeah, I purchased a G85SD for $681shipped that should be arriving Wednesday and was actually at BB yesterday looking at an open box AW3423DWF that was $770. Ordered one for pick up when I saw this deal and will be comparing the 2 to decide which one I keep.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] Alienware - AW3423DWF 34" QD-OLED Curved 165Hz .1-ms Ultrawide FreeSync Gaming Monitor - $649.99 (Best Buy) ->Hey, I just got the G8 OLED, but saw this post. I’m using a MacBook Pro, but it looks like I can’t use HiDPI and retain the original resolution? Every time I’m on 3440x1440 and I try to turn on HiDPI the resolution changes down to something lower. I haven’t been able to figure it out. Would you happen to know? https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay/wiki/Fully-scalable-HiDPI-desktop I saw this on the GitHub. I have an M3 Pro, so the horizontal pixel resolution limit shouldn’t be an issue for me. I’m not too familiar with BetterDisplay and honestly unsure of how to fully use it, so any help is appreciated!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Dell Alienware AW3425DW - Unboxing / Mini Review / Ascension ->The Asus rog is a way better monitor than those ultrawides you selected. I had both the Asus , the Xiaomi and now an G8 ultrawide OLED. In picture quality and response time , the Asus was closer to the OLED than to the Xiaomi. So I would say , yes ultrawide is worth it, but don't cheap out on your choice.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is ULTRAWIDE actually worth it!!! ->The US version was on sale for the Thanksgiving holiday. Priced at $500 USD. Should have OTG style (mini) display in puts and running an OLED at 144hrz. Should have Samsung Tizen o/s. Samsung either has issues with the input board or this will be discontinued in place of another variant. I'd guess a flex version. I bought the G8. This would have been great, but the size was just too much for me.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Samsung G9 49” OLED 144Hz ->You should not be getting greyish blacks on a OLED. Anyway unless you are a console gamer go Ultrawide. The extra field of view is awesome and most games support the resolution. 4K is really demanding and imo not worth it. I have a 4K and Ultrawide monitor and I barely use the 4K monitor. In games the difference is not noticeable enough for me to sacrifice my field of view and performance. Btw this question is better for another sub. A lot of people on here just say 4K and a lot of them haven't even tried an Ultrawide lol Also OLED VRR flickering is a thing so I would do some research on whatever monitor you are thinking of getting. From my experience Samsung is great. I went with the G8 instead of Alienware and I was happy with my purchase. No VRR flickering and better looking picture then the Alienware that was out at the time. I also tried a Asus Ultrawide and LG and both suffered from VRR flicker
r/OLED_Gaming • Trying to decide between 34" Ultrawide vs 32" 4K ->New G85SD OLED user here and I can confirm, this is an excellent monitor, especially when configured in HDR 1000.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Recommendations for 3440x1440 at the moment? ->I’m using a Samsung G8 oled ultrawide and I’m getting 1440p with HDR no issues via HDMI. seems like Apple made these really pick with monitors…I can’t get proper refresh rate on my 4k gaming monitor on it
r/macmini • Mac mini and ultra wide monitor ->I’m using my base mini with a Samsung G8 OLED ultrawide 175hz refresh rate and HDR no issues
r/macmini • M4 Mac mini compatibility problems with ultrawide monitors? ->The g9 is nice. I have the 34 G8 , now I wish I went for the bigger one. Does it properly support the resolution or is it slightly stretched out?
r/Eve • Anyone play on an Ultrawide OLED screen? ->I have G8 Odyssey Samsung with the Tizen OS and honestly those speakers are pretty good better then on my TV. It's still worse then 60$ 2.1 speakers but loud and pretty clear.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide with Speakers? ->Get the Alienware or Samsung (same panel, just different 'software') 34" OLED, it hits all your requirements. Is usually 699-799 on sale.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is there a current go-to recommendation ultrawide that's 34 inch, 140+hz, IPS, FreeSync, with ~1ms response time? ->I’ve had mine roughly six months using 5+ hours a day doubling as both my work from home monitor and gaming monitor and have 0 burn in. Samsung has some neat anti burn in software, and I make sure to collapse the windows/osx bottom bar so it isn’t static. My only real complaint tbh is it struggles to switch between multiple sources, and the USB-C inputs effectively don’t work (so you only have the mini HDMI And DP).
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is there a current go-to recommendation ultrawide that's 34 inch, 140+hz, IPS, FreeSync, with ~1ms response time? ->youtube videos support if uploaded like that, netflix on the app within my monitor (g85sd) works perfectly fine and even works in 4k. only app ive had issues with is disney+ in which it was playing as a little square and i had to use the monitor sided fill option
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I wanna try 21:9, convice me please. ->Upgraded from a Dell 27" IPS Gsync to an Odyssey oled G8 ultra wide. I love the widescreen but dealing with bugs or non support for games is frustrating. Also not inherently a widescreen feature but the G8 is basically a smart TV which can be a huge PITA, I miss the old monitors that just worked as monitors, you turn it on with desired input and it just works.
r/pcmasterrace • Ultrawide screens yes or no? ->Ok so I have a few Models in mind. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 is a really good one. Costs 650 bucks. If You want a better one with HDR tol Theres the LG UltraGear OLED 34GS95QE. That one is 800 bucks. Or comparable the Alienware AW3423DWF, wich has less refreh rate, but has more Vibtant colours, but a glossy Display wich means they LG has less reflection. That one is also 800 bucks. Those are all oleds and if You don't really need one VA's would be much cheaper, but also much worse ofc. Let me know what you think.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Monitor Recommendations for coding & light casual gaming? ->I personally ended up downgrading from the g9 to the g8 ultra wide as I kept getting neck strain from the aspect ratio. I was also using some side monitors for media and discord but did not like the vertical setup.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Just bought the 49" G9 OLED. Having some serious buyer remorse. ->I just bought a Samsung Odessy G8 34inch and I can't fault it. It's also like a smart TV with apps etc
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I'm looking into getting a 3440x1440, 34 inch ultrawide; and am looking for recommendations. ->(It's not this monitor, I assume the op is referring to the g8 ultrawide which does have smart stuffs, although I personally haven't had any real issues with the smart bits)
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] SAMSUNG 34" Odyssey G5 Ultra-Wide Gaming Monitor 1000R Curved Screen 21:9 165Hz VA Panel [USED - LIKE NEW] - $153.79 via Amazon Resale ->Yeah it might just be my particular use case but idk, the ability to have proper stream quality (thanks streamers for nuking browser video quality) and Bluetooth is v nice since I don't have the space/need for a tv
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] SAMSUNG 34" Odyssey G5 Ultra-Wide Gaming Monitor 1000R Curved Screen 21:9 165Hz VA Panel [USED - LIKE NEW] - $153.79 via Amazon Resale ->I have the g8 and has good speakers
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide with Speakers? ->I have g8 which i plug both my mac and pc and on both operating systems they look crisp so I don’t agree with you about macos.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Asking about pixel density on a 34 inch 1440p ultrawide. ->I have 2, 21:9 monitors. An old Acer Preditor X34 which is an IPS 100hz and a new Samsung Odessey G8 OLED which is 175hz. The Samsung is the same panel as the Alienware that everyone recommends as the best monitor, but also doubles as a smart TV effectively. (I don't use any of the TV functions, but they're there if people want them) Personally I've found majority of the games I play support the 21:9 display no issue, Skyrim requires modding, but newer titles all natively accept the resolution. Some games, FFXIV, Minecraft etc I've had to adjust HUD sizes and stuff to make it more ledgible and manageable, but that's just in game settings, I haven't used a 4k monitor, but I have used a 4k TV as a monitor and it requires the same adjustments. Titles out in the past year such as Palworld or Black Myth Wukong, you can just open and play, full support and correct scaling straight on opening. All in all I ld recommend the resolution, it's great for gaming, and it's wide enough that doing a 50:50 left right split allows 2 very usable windows so makes it great for productivity / Web browsing etc
r/ultrawidemasterrace • I wanna try 21:9, convice me please. ->Samsung OLED G8 is better because of the coating, but people like to hate on it because of the brand, panel OS and lack of burn-in warranty. This will probably be downvoted to hell, but at least i have used it next to the AW3423DW, and i did not like what the coating did to the HDR result.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The 25 most recommend Ultrawide Monitors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jun 2025) ->I didn't like it at start, because it was hard to find the HDR settings, but i don't use it anymore and like the remote. Obviously i don't use the TV stuff, why would i?
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The 25 most recommend Ultrawide Monitors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jun 2025) ->The G8 is glossy, and looks much better than the matte.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The 25 most recommend Ultrawide Monitors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jun 2025) ->From what i have seen with my G8 and friends AW3423DWF, G8 really pops in HDR, AW looks bland. We tried for an hour to fix it because we thought it was his settings, nothing changed the result.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The 25 most recommend Ultrawide Monitors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jun 2025) ->What a great opportunity. Thank you, LG, for reaching out to the community and for giving us a chance to try out this beast. To begin with, I have been a fan of ultrawide monitors since some of the first flat panels to hit the market - I owned an Acer Predator X34 for about 7 years, for which time it served me very well. About only a year ago I purchased Samsung’s 34" Odyssey OLED G8 (which has the same panel as the Alienware’s widely popular AW3423DW/ AW3423DWF monitors) and it has been my main monitor since then. On the TV side, I also own several OLED TVs (my first one was a LG 65” C6, which still serves me to this day - the last OLED 3D TV generation by LG and the only generation to be OLED 4K while supporting 3D and Dolby Vision). I also have a LG 77” C1, which has insane picture quality (I’m sure the newer ones are even better), though I still miss the 3D features since I still own a rather large 3D movies library. I researched extensively OLED TVs before I got my first one, so I knew their pros and cons very well - and despite loving the infinite contrast and the pure blacks in movies and games, I was very much afraid to get an OLED panel for a PC monitor as there are just so many static images, like the bars on browsers and other applications, the HUDs in games and so on. Since I got Samsung’s G8 monitor, I have changed a lot the way I handle monitors - I have my screensaver set to start after 1 minute of inactivity and be pure black, my wallpapers also change every 1 minute, I have hidden my Windows desktop icons and made my task bar hide automatically as well. This, so far, is working well and I love that panel, although the weird quirks this particular monitor version has, especially with the DisplayPort, can be very frustrating at times. Even after many firmware updates, it still does not recognize, for example, the BIOS screen on startup, which was extremely frustrating when troubleshooting PC issues. I am not a professional reviewer; I’m a tech geek without an endless budget, so I usually research purchases based on a lot of reviews, both written and from YouTube before I get anything, and I usually try to get the best thing for a good price and don’t upgrade too often - I get a new GPU every 2-3 years, a full new PC every 5-6 years, a new monitor every 6-7 years, and so on. This is actually the only reason I am not actively looking to purchase LG’s new 45” 5K2K GX9 monitor, which I love so much on paper - it is finally a meaningful upgrade for the Ultrawide 21:9 community with a larger resolution and display size to stay in **that sweet spot** in terms of PPI while providing a larger screen size and more pixels compared to the heaps of 3440x1440 34” monitors, while having an OLED panel with more Hz than my eyes could (probably) ever notice, but as I got my current monitor just a year ago, splashing out on a new one so soon is not something I usually do. I am reading and watching a lot of reviews though, to make up my mind on whether to have it on my bucket list for the next few years. In addition, I have a Z790 PC with EVGA 3080Ti FTW3 GPU and I am in the process of picking up a new GPU for my build, I also own an old-ish MacBook Pro, an Apple TV 4K, a PlayStation 5 and a lot of games for console and PC - [my Steam library is over 4400 games](https://steamcommunity.com/id/mm3n/), though I wish I had more time for gaming as I am working full time from home as a Software Quality Assurance specialist, and I am also studying for an Undergraduate Advanced Diploma in IT Systems Analysis and Design at the University of Oxford. Movies are my passion, and my love for them made me stick to the 21:9 Ultrawide format that my Acer X34 had, instead of get a wider screen option at 32:9 AR like Samsung’s G9, because it would only be useful for productivity and gaming and would be moot for movies. Many games don’t support that aspect ratio out of the box, and productivity for an OLED monitor is not the main purpose to drive me into getting it – if I was spending the majority of my day on that monitor for work, I’d rather it wasn’t OLED as it would significantly shorten its lifespan for the gorgeous picture those panels otherwise have. On the other hand, movies in 2.39:1 format look like they are made to be watched on a monitor in this aspect ratio, and games are still widely immersive – pun intended. I’d be very interested to test out how 4K movies look on the new LG 5K2K monitor, which sports a higher resolution than the 4K discs specs, and also see how many frames I could squeeze on some popular games out of my current 3080 Ti GPU, though I realize for a proper gaming experience on over 11 million pixels, I’d probably have to upgrade to a 5080 or 5090 to run everything well. Last but not least, I love taking photos and I own a decent, albeit old Canon 7D Mark II along with an iPhone 15 Pro and tripods, so I can take some good pictures of the monitor if I am lucky enough to be able to try it out. :)
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I've been in the same boat as you. Wanting an ultrawide but already have a 4k 32 inch as my main. The LG 5k2k is tempting but I think it may be too big so am waiting for a 39/40 inch 5k2k monitor so that my current monitor would fit nicely next to it as a secondary monitor. My partner has a G8 oled ultrawide and while the colours are good, the text clarity bothered me too much.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Switching 4k to 21:9 ->Just recently went from a samsung g9 to a g8 and I'm pretty content with it!
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The 25 most recommend Ultrawide Monitors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jun 2025) ->I switched to ultrawide more than 5 years ago, never going back to 16:9. Gaming feels way more immersive, and it's also really nice for movies too. Currently using the G8 OLED with a 3080. Performance is fine, even in never games, tho it's mostly thanks to DLSS, but I think you'll have a pretty great experience with the 7900 GRE.
r/pcmasterrace • Advice on (ultrawide) OLED monitor ->Been an avid 21:9 user for like 4yrs and can't go back, only drawback is that I'm still in the OG 3440x1440 group and want a bit more crispiness to the text (OLED) and a smidge more screen real-estate. So far I've had the LG UltraGear, the Alienware one, then the Samsung G8 (current). Been eyeing a 5k 2k for a long time and curious to hear other reviews (if I get sent one LG, I will deep dive so hard into the things that I look for in a panel so be warned lol). OLED brightness, HDR, VRR, color banding are things that are very important to nail so praying ya'll nailed it. I used a Dell 32:9 (forget the model) and returned it within a week. Tried to make it work, but didn't like that it's a huge performance hit for the added peripheral you technically never use and for normal day to day, hurts my neck moving windows around. And thats before I get into getting games to do 32:9 was a nightmare vs 21:9. So sweet spot if you're a gamer imho is 21:9 -- perfect FOV to performance for modern mid-high end+ GPU's.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • [Real-User Invite] LG UltraGear 5K2K GX9: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of UltraWide OLED Gaming Monitor ->I do a lot of software programing as well (and don’t game), but 49” was just too big for my desk/workspace. I’m used to dual monitors though, so I went for the 34” Odyssey G8 OLED. Not too big, text clarity is great - we’ll see about OLED burn in though. Contrast and image quality is fantastic. I have another small ZenScreen (IPS) next to it, that I put all my static displays on (logging windows etc).
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best Ultrawide of 2025 ->Great review! I currently run a G8 glossy and love it also contemplating on the LG but the fight for me is going from colorful glossy to matte not sure how much of a change it would be from the G8 ultra wide but for sure increase in Hz would be nice. Still indecisive if I should try it or if it's not worth it even in comparison to the G8 as far as gaming goes.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG5K2K Review (Samsung G9 OLED Owner) ->All opinion based. I just went from a Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED Ultrawide 21:9 to the Asus ROG PG32UCDM 4K 16:9 And honestly I’d rather the 4K resolution at 16:9 Each to their own, there is no right or wrong.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • 21:9 is the sweetspot for gaming! (Comparing all display ratios) ->Yes it is. I love my ultra wide it’s just the perfect width. Not ultra ultra wide but just ultra wide. I do want an UUW tho for my racing rig setup at some point but for now this is good for everything from single player games to fps games.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is ULTRAWIDE actually worth it!!! ->Specifically for curved monitors, it doesn't have the option to filter by curvature. I have a Samsung G8 and I'm trying to find another 34" ultrawide with the same 1800R curve without dropping another grand on a 2nd G8.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 34WR55QK-B Ultra wide Monitor - Any Experience? ->I've seen 34" monitors with 800R, 1000R, 1500R, 1800R, 1900R and 2500R...unless the specs are listed with errors. OLED G8 is listed at $1200, but it goes on sale down to $800-900 pretty often.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • LG 34WR55QK-B Ultra wide Monitor - Any Experience? ->Samsung G8 Oled Ultrawide. I've been using it since launch, and it's amazing.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best productivity (70%)/gaming (30%) monitor at the moment 38-40"? ->Usage: 8am to 7pm work (turn off for 15 mins every 4 hrs when I take breaks) 8pm to 2am Gaming, no breaks or screen off. So far, no burn in or any other issue
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Best productivity (70%)/gaming (30%) monitor at the moment 38-40"? ->The G8 sucks with the smart TV chip and UI. Only Samsung I'd get is the 32:9 G9 G93SC that's just a monitor (I got it). For 21:9 the new Alienware 3425DW is the same price as the older AW models but 240Hz and leas intrusive panel care.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What's the best option for a 21:9 resolution? The game I intend to play is limited. ->I also stumbled on this one by accident, and returned a Samsung G8 for this. The kvm and osd are so much better. I don't use Mac so no issues with scaling here.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Does the perfect Ultrawide monitor for productivity first and gaming second exist? ->I have the G8 and that OS... I really hate it. One of the reasons why I did pre order the LG
r/ultrawidemasterrace • The 25 most recommend Ultrawide Monitors according to Reddit (in the past year as of Jun 2025) ->I bought that monitor like 3 days ago. Absolutely beautiful and it is my first ever oled. Have no issues so far. 3 years warranty too.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • What's the best option for a 21:9 resolution? The game I intend to play is limited. ->For racing, it's nice because you have a wider fov. For standard games I don't enjoy it as much. I have a 34" OLED Samsung G8, and while it's beautiful, I don't like it for standard gaming, but it wouldn't be a bad option to race on if I wasn't already using a 65 inch tv. Now it's just sitting since I've replaced it with a 32 4k for more vertical viewing.
r/simracing • Monitor upgrade recommendations and experiences. ->Idk I'ma be so real ultra wide (if not used for office work too) is overrated and lame. 32 inch monitors are also over bewringly large. My advice as from someone who's owners odyssey G7 32 (16:9) , odyssey G9 32:9, and odyssey G8 QD OLED 34 (21:9). My best advise is just get a 1440 qd OLED monitor from Samsung or LG in 16:9. Hella fps, hella color, hella optimization. Just my opinion now if I were to still be a PC gamer. I own a Galaxy book 3 ultra 4079 and it has a 1880p screen 120 fps RR + gysnc and it's the best. It's my college laptop but when I wanna play planet coaster 2 or Toontown it's great.
r/OLED_Gaming • New 4K monitor absolutely wrecks FPS, should I “downgrade”? ->I had a Neo g9 before and currently use G8 oled 21:9. Ultrawide is good fun for a while but I always ended up playing with the standard 16:9 ratio in the end. The image is stretched on UW, which makes it difficult to read the player's movement sideways. If that makes any sense. Good usage of the right stick beats ultrawide any day
r/RocketLeague • Question for players playing with (ultra)wide monitors ->I had a 49” and now I’m down to 34”. In my personal opinion, 34” ultra wide is more than enough and the image does get as stretched out. I have the 34” odyssey G8 OLED. Curve isn’t super aggressive, 175hz, .03ms. Great monitor. Would recommend however, if you go this route, make sure you get the glossy screen for maximum color pop. Have fun with your search.
r/buildapc • What Ultrawide/Superultrawide monitor should i gofor? ->There’s no Gen3 ultrawide G8, the newer 240hz version has the same gen1 panel (subpixel structure is the same). Same text clarity and HDR performance (maybe better EOTF but same brightness level)
r/OLED_Gaming • Thoughts on buying a Samsung G85SD OLED Ultrawide. ->I'm using a 34" Samsung right now and my texts don't smell, but my email smells atrocious! It might be a real issue with 34" monitors. I just purchased a Shark HEPA Air Purifier and I'm hoping it will help in the long run. YMMV though!
r/macmini • Ultrawide monitor for Mac mini ->You will not regret an UW. Get it.
r/graphic_design • Has anyone got experience using an ultrawide monitor? ->I have two monitors; lower is a Dell Canvas 27 at 2560x1440 (16:9) and top is 3440x1440 Samsung (21:9 UWQHD). It allows for tons of Adobe side-menu space, which is actually more useful than timeline work.
r/graphic_design • Has anyone got experience using an ultrawide monitor? ->Any Samsung panel will be a good one TBH. Mine is from a few years ago, so I am sure a newer better model exists at this time.
r/graphic_design • Has anyone got experience using an ultrawide monitor? ->Yep! Similar to mine; may even BE mine.
r/graphic_design • Has anyone got experience using an ultrawide monitor? ->We have sweet Samsung curved monitors. They’re huge and display multiple things at once. I can get the NSN tomorrow if you’re interested.
r/navy • Monitor recommendations needed for NMCI workstations ->Ah ok. I know they are 34” but not sure if they bought them on GSA or not. I’ll do some digging tomorrow and get back to you.
r/navy • Monitor recommendations needed for NMCI workstations ->I use a 34" curved Samsung monitor 3440x1440 plugged into my mac mini m4 with no issues whatsoever. I have a thunderbolt to displayport cable. I actually have it going to 2 monitors. The second monitor is just a 1080p monitor (I don't always have it on, just when I need some extra space), and again a thunderbolt to displayport cable. No issues whatsoever.
r/MacOS • An ultrawide curved monitor suitable for a Mac – does this exist at all? ->Yes. Same experience I think but maybe if I went back I’d be able to tell. Have 2 Samsung 34.5” ultra wide curved. https://preview.redd.it/lxh9odk03mlf1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78f2acf2b08b48472b18ab36c0a6937c22735eb9
r/RocketLeague • D you play with a curved monitor? ->I’ve got a Samsung 34” unltrawide and I run both an intlem Mac Pro 2019 and an M1 MBP on it and they both look fantastic, nice and sharp & no issues.
r/mac • An ultrawide curved monitor suitable for a Mac – does this exist at all? ->I just set up my M4 mini with an ultra wide Samsung 34” with the same resolution you are considering. I love it. It’s great for spreadsheets and for Logic and for what I need it for. However, it doesn’t save much desk space. I actually had more desk space with dual monitors mounted on arms that I could swing away if needed.
r/macmini • Mac Mini with an ultrawide monitor? ->Nobody can give you the “right” answer. It just comes down to personal preference and hardware. If you have a strong PC and want full immersion, then triples will do the trick. If you’re not sure your PC can handle triples and you don’t want to have to sift through bezel corrections, then a single monitor is perfect. I have a 34” inch Samsung ultra wide and love it. Will probably upgrade to another Samsung ultra wide in the future. This monitor will do you just fine.
r/simracing • This monitor vs triples? Need recommendations ->Was that the Samsung one? It was only 3440 x 1440 resolution.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Any other manufacturers planning a 45" 5k monitor? ->I have 2 34” Samsung Ultrawides running at 3440 x 1440 With no issues
r/macmini • Anyone using ultra wide monitors? ->Windows + alt + B. If you have an RTX gpu and you have no other monitors plugged into the GPU, just leave HDR on and enable RTX HDR. I also have the Odyssey ultrawide oled. This combo is good.
r/buildapcsales • [Monitor] Alienware - AW3423DWF 34" QD-OLED Curved 165Hz .1-ms Ultrawide FreeSync Gaming Monitor - $649.99 (Best Buy) ->I can’t go back from 49’. I bought a MacBook to work when I’m away from my desk but could not gel with the small workspace and so much scrolling…. I started with 34 on the path of Ultrawide with the predator x34 and the all the Samsung odyssey monitors. I look forward to LG’s 5k2k monitor.
r/ultrawidemasterrace • Is 34" ultrawide.. dying? ->Yeah you'll be fine, I'm running an odyssey and it smashes anything I throw at it. And I think my processor is a little slower than yours. Oh and my gpu too 😂
r/pcmasterrace • Gaming in 16:9 or 21:9, what’s your thoughts ?
->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
