I've been using ultrawide monitors for 10 years now - 2015: Samsung S34E790C 3440x1440 60Hz, VA panel - 2019: LG 34GK950F-B 3440x1440 144Hz, IPS panel - 2024: LG 38WN95CP-W 3840x1600 144Hz, IPS panel and I really like the productivity gains I got with them. On my current monitor a browser window and IDE window can easily fit side-by-side.

I'm using a 34" Samsung right now and my texts don't smell, but my email smells atrocious! It might be a real issue with 34" monitors. I just purchased a Shark HEPA Air Purifier and I'm hoping it will help in the long run. YMMV though!

We have sweet Samsung curved monitors. They’re huge and display multiple things at once. I can get the NSN tomorrow if you’re interested.

Ah ok. I know they are 34” but not sure if they bought them on GSA or not. I’ll do some digging tomorrow and get back to you.

r/RocketLeagueD you play with a curved monitor?

Yes. Same experience I think but maybe if I went back I’d be able to tell. Have 2 Samsung 34.5” ultra wide curved. https://preview.redd.it/lxh9odk03mlf1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78f2acf2b08b48472b18ab36c0a6937c22735eb9

I did the same, also not wanting to deal with triple hassle, upgrading from a 34” Samsung 1440p. After one race I knew I should’ve gone triples instead. My 32s arrive tomorrow. They were half the price and will provide larger FOV vertically and horizontally. Hopefully the triple hassle is overstated, but so far the stand choice has been a hassle, given it seems to cost more than the monitors.

I've had zero issues playing full-screen on an ultra wide monitor. I use a Samsung 3440x1440 UW (relatively cheap one from MicroCenter, paid $200 for it) and have had zero issues with scaling. My characters scale just fine. No short and fat or tall and skinny deformations. My hot bars are a tad smaller, but not enough so as to be detrimental. edit - but the UW does give me enough screen real estate to spread out my hot bars laterally, so I can have 16 hot bars up and still have more than 3/4ths of screen for the action. As to what you asked about how the game renders the periphery in UW...for me, it renders it just fine. No warping the edges or other deformations. Just more being visible side to side. Not really all that helpful in DDO, but great in my fps games (pubg, cs2)

r/simracingThis monitor vs triples? Need recommendations

Nobody can give you the “right” answer. It just comes down to personal preference and hardware. If you have a strong PC and want full immersion, then triples will do the trick. If you’re not sure your PC can handle triples and you don’t want to have to sift through bezel corrections, then a single monitor is perfect. I have a 34” inch Samsung ultra wide and love it. Will probably upgrade to another Samsung ultra wide in the future. This monitor will do you just fine.

Was that the Samsung one? It was only 3440 x 1440 resolution.

Forgot to add, UW vs standard aspect ratio is a personal preference thing. I had a Samsung 34UW, and I liked it but I mostly play competitive shooters so I found myself turning my head more than I liked and sold it to go to the 32". It was fun for single player games and I liked the extra immersion I got from it once set up correctly, but I play shooters 90% of the time so UW was wasted imo.

r/AskTechnologyIs a 49" ultrawide monitor work better?

I have a Samsung 49 inch it’s nice for what I do with it. I don’t game I also have 4 34 inch screens Samsung Asus x2 Acer Predator It really comes down to what you’re going to use them for My son loves the 49in for his starfield game. But he does mention that it tends to make him feel nauseous sometimes. My wife has a 34 inch middle and a 27 inch curved on each side for work. Check out the used ones since I just bought 2 34inch Asus for $150 for both
