I have a Bissell pet pro with the retractable cord and it works very well and the freaking cord rewind is my favorite feature. If and when I ever replace it the cord retraction is pretty much a non-negotiable
DogIsBetterThanCatWe got the same brand, on sale for $70, at Sam's Club..about a month ago. It sucked the dog hair right out of everything - rugs, stairs, thick and light carpet. Wish we got one years ago...just been using a Hoover that did half the suction.

ellemae93I like my Kenmore Intuition Lift-away which was about $200. I recommend it only if you have a lot of stairs. A lot of pros here will rec the Shark Navigator and I can’t argue against that, its a good vacuum as well. But for your pet hair I’ve also found the Bissell Pet-Hair Eraser to be very good. Very powerful, not too heavy, and comes with better attachments than my Kenmore. It’s about $230. If you’re really looking to go deluxe, I have found new Miele’s online for $350-$400. Miele’s are excellent, but imo they are better suited for larger homes with maybe more floor space than 1400 sq ft.
Ambitious_Use_9578Hey, you might as well get the bissell Pet Hair Eraser, that's a good price. But these are all throw away vacuums that are engineered to last for 250 hours usage. Better quality ones are designed for 1000 hours and have better quality everything, which is why the budget vacs are hated around here. Still if that's your budget, at least the Bissell brush roller will turn off for bare floor vacuuming , etc. Good luck.
CommercialJust414Can you get a robot vacuum to do some of it? My dog sheds a ton and I just swiffer and I got a Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum and it works great. Muddy mats that you might see advertised on tv actually do a great job of absorbing the dirt they bring in from outside
It’s been good so far about being “tangle free”…. The hair doesn’t get all caught up in the roller. The canister is a little small, but easy to empty. I’ve only been using it about 6 months but I’m liking it better than the Shark I had.
