I have stick vacuums that are for pets. I recently purchased a Bissell from Walmart for around $60. My requirements were: no HEPA filter (an on going expense), a bag (to actually contain what the vacuum pulls off the floor/carpet), and a cord (for powerful suction). The difference in the cleanliness of my floors is amazing. A battery can't complete with an outlet for producing power suction. It has a couple of attachments.
I avoid work if possible. After a couple of years with cordless, I decided I'm willing to do the work (that is, paying attention to where the vacuum cord is and moving it as needed) to have a cleaner floor. Use attachments to clean smaller places and keep an eye on the cord.

I think its a good option to go for considering everything. It has a motorized brush roll for carpets/rugs and is easy to whip around on hard floors. It's easy to store and carry between floors.
my husband got me some type of bissell pet hair upright (corded). I looooove it. I’m not home to see the exact model. do you have a Costco membership? they have great deals on vacuums & if one craps out on you super fast, you can return it & get a new one! what type of vacuums did you have the issues with? stick vacs are ok for light cleanup between vacuums with a corded vac, but a stick will never be able to keep up with cat hair or dander. I’m always shocked when I vacuum either my expensive Dyson stick vac & then go back over the carpet with my corded bissell.

My husband bought- because of me - the Bisell Pet Hair Pro
We have one of these with 2 dogs. We’ve had it for 4 years and replaced the head unit 1 time bc of a broken belt. No other issue other than that
I have a plug in bissel pet hair eraser. It works great and hasn't clogged on me yet. I've had it over a year. I board dogs so it gets a lot of use
Dysons are convenient without a cord, but they do not run an extended amount of time. To get adequate power, my Dyson has a run time of 8 minutes. Corded vacuums are always more powerful and can run for a much longer duration. I swear by my Bissell Pet corded vacuums. They outshine my Dysons every single time.
