I have a Bissel Pet canister for quick, everyday use. It is fairly light and effective. I've had to change the belt and roller a few times. I bought a Dyson ball that i thought would replace the Bissel that was getting old. I only use it for deeper cleans. It is *heavy* and the wand is unwieldy. Plus, the clog points are many, but it does have serious power. It also does well on hard flooring because you can turn the roller off.
r/homeowners • Best (cost/performance) vacuum cleaner? ->I use the Dyson 360 Vis Nav Robot vacuum. It is a square-ish shape and has side suction so it gets right against the walls and baseboards and under kitchen cabinets to clean. It has the most powerful suction of any robot vac. All robot vacs have middling ratings at best because the technology just isn’t there yet, and people expect too much. But I think it still beats manually vacuuming, especially on hardwood floors. I don’t think Dyson is worth it for their non-robot vacuums. I use a Bissell Power Pet with a retractable cord. It’s a workhorse for far less than a Dyson. I also had a corded Shark Navigator for years that was great. However my Shark Duo cordless batteries are trash and can’t keep a charge after 6 months. Also look into a maid. A weekly clean might cost less than you think, and you don’t have to have everything perfect like you do with a robot vacuum that will break if it sucks up the wrong thing.
r/homeowners • Any easy & frugal way for vacuuming multiple floors in your house? ->Tbh I'm glad I'm not the only one that monitors my end product of vacuuming so closely. I have a Bissell pet pro with the retractable cord and it works very well and the freaking cord rewind is my favorite feature. If and when I ever replace it the cord retraction is pretty much a non-negotiable
r/CleaningTips • When you get a new vacuum and are shocked by the results. ->We typically use Bissell pet branded vacuums! Nothing super "official" type, very consumer grade, but our maintenance dept tends to get most of those kinds of supplies for us from our local Lowe's anyhow! I love those big ole types of vacuums though, my grandfather has one and fixed a belt on it, turned it into a self driving BEAST 🤣
r/Custodians • What kind of vacuum cleaners do yall use ->I just replaced my bissell pet vacuum (2-1/2 years old and busted) with a Miele C1 after researching here and in r/buyitforlife there’s some good information in both but you’ll have to do some digging based on what works best for the types of floors you have.
r/VacuumCleaners • Looking for the Best Vacuum Cleaner that Actually Lasts? ->We always choose Bissell vacuums geared toward Pets! They seem to hold up better than our Shark brands and honestly, better than our pricey Dyson
r/Newfoundlander • Vacuum Recommendations? ->Everybody recommends sharks. In my experience they only last a year or two and then they die. I have had the best luck with the Bissell pet vacuum. The thing is a beast it picks up literally anything. It has little bristles along the sides that get right up next to the edge of the floor so you don't need to go around with the hose in the edges. And best of all they're like $120
r/housekeeping • Best vacuum for the job? ->God, Bissells are hot garbage. Our last one (The "For Pets" model) ate a belt about every 6 months. The beater was at the correct height and I was meticulous about cleaning it. Just a bad, bad vacuum cleaner.
r/VacuumCleaners • Why am I going through a vacuum cleaner every 2 years? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
