Hello all- looking for a new vacuum after my Bissell 2920 finally bit the dust and I’m overwhelmed by the options. I’ve done a little research and settled on a bagged vacuum so far, but besides that I’m a bit lost. I’m looking for something sub-$200 as that is what the budget allows for atm :) I live in a 2-story townhome/apartment with about 75% mid-high pile carpet & 25% hard floors. (Basically only kitchen and dining room are hard floor along with 2 1/2 bathrooms, and kitchen is mostly taken up by a giant island) Ideally I am looking for something bagged and good at grooming/agitating carpet. Also would love attachment for carpeted stairs and light dusting if possible. I live with 5 cats that shed a ton and it feels like I was emptying the canister of the bissell every 5 minutes it seems… Thanks!!

I’m definitely done with bagless vacs for now lol. It was an allergy nightmare taking the bissell bagless apart to repair it with the parts they sent.

Bissell-pet hair edition! Have a 9 yr old gsd and it has not let me down once! During The Sheddening, I do have to empty the container several times to vacuum the house, but its worth it! Just looked. It's officially a Bissel Powerlifter Swivel - Pet! Good luck. I know what its like to live in a snow globe of hair and I sympathize with you!

I have a Bissell Power Lifter Swivel Pet. I love it, use it daily for our German shedder lol. I also appreciate the lint roller attachment, we use it on our clothes before walking out the door. But overall I love the vacuum it blows the hair from under furniture and then grabs the hair up, awesomeness. And our carpet cleaner is Hoover.

If you live in a city with an Ocean State Job Lot, cruise by one and see what they have in stock. Many are refurbished, but does that really matter? See what they have, take a moment to google all the reviews, and likely one will meet your needs. My own is a Bissell Lift Off Pet Hair Something Something i bought refurbished for <$100, in 2017 ish. I just ordered a new collection tank and brush for $60, but i figure ~$13/year for the first 8 years isn't a bad investment.

I have 3 cats and have the Bissel “MultiClean Allergen Lift-Off Pet vacuum cleaner”. It sucks up a lot of cat hair and is still going strong after a few years. Cordless vacuums were never strong enough to pull the hair up off carpet and such. The bottom roller is super easy to access (just need to take off a few screws) to cut off any hair that gets trapped (my long human hair mainly). I do deep clean my vacuum every 2-3 weeks (completely empty and wash the canister, take out the roller and clean off all the hair) and I think that’s key to keeping the vacuum working well for a long time.

Just get a bagged vacuum from BISSELL they have either the standard kind that we all know is kinda annoying to maneuver with the cord but hey it works. They also have one that you can lift with 1 hand and carry around but the hose is a little clunky to use. Either way they SUCK hard. I was cleaning my keyboard and they sucked the keys right off. It’s intense and good for getting all the dirt off of whatever you’re sucking.

I have used them all. Bissell is by far the best. I personally like the clear view swivel power vac. I just wish the hoses would last bur i haven't had any problems except belts but they go our in every vacumm. Its works so well with hair. I also use the crosswave vaumm mop. They way i dont sweep my hard floors and push small fur in the air. Check em out... wont be disappointed I also have 7 huskies all indoor haha

I bought the Bissell pet hair/allergy upright and it's been great and very easy to use.
