r/homemakingAre cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house

My aposen (x-mas gift) was great at being a hand vac for small spills. It's attachments weren't great. I used it until I broke it. I picked up another one (black and decker power series) that was more powerful as a mini floor vac. It's hand vac use is little less convenient of the two. It was just $120. My toddler (2) liked the first, but thinks the second is a little loud. I like them for cleaning up after him.

I think I have the same one. It is small but it works well with all the dog hair I need to clean up daily

I bought a cordless Black and Decker Powerseries+ on sale for about $100 a few years ago. The dirt cup is small and needs dumping a little too often. Otherwise I like it. It works well, battery holds a good charge and I can use the battery on my other B&D tools.

I empty the dust cup into the outside trash can, same as with the corded, bagless vacuum. I have not noticed any excess dust either. My stick vacuum has a thick spongy filter that needs routine cleaning so it must trap a lot of dust. We have a dog that sheds pretty much year round and this vac manages well enough. No, I don't have a link but I bought mine a few years ago at Kohl's. Try searching for it and I'm sure you will find a retailer.

r/VacuumCleanersStick vacuum vs handheld vs robot vacuum: which is best for what scenarios in real life?

This right here. I have a Roomba that is programmed to sweep twice a week, a Black & Decker stick vac with removable and rechargeable battery for convenient clean ups, and a Miele bagged canister vac with the electric floor brush for weekly deep carpet and upholstery cleaning. I also have a Vapamore canister steam cleaner for bi-monthly tile floor cleaning.

I agree with this. For the cordless vacuum, do not cheap out as the battery is crap. I bought 40 sgd was nearly useless. Less than 10 mins suction time and battery died less than a year. I went for a black and decker with a replaceable battery. The battery used in their power tool systems, a bit bulkier but at least you can swap battery packs.
