😬. I just bought the 517b... But half of what I bought it for was putting fluid systems under vaccum while I remove hoses or sensor or whatnot. No spills. I figure it should be fine for that. About to go try it on my car.

After a thurough annual cleaning of my car, I have no complaints. It sucks. It fits regular vacuum attachments. A 5ah battery did about 5/6ths of my car (this was no quickie, did every fabric/carpet surface several times). Used a brush on a drill to help get all the dirt loose from the carpet. It's a mini battery powered shop vac. It sucked as hard as I expected it to. If I needed more of a vaccum I would have bought more, it's just what I expected.

I have the cordless DeWalt 1/2 gallon wet/dry and love it! If used with water, the filter will get waterlogged and you have to dry it out but once I got that worked out, it has exceeded every expectation.

I have the first one and it doesn’t get used much. Kind of a joke. The newer handheld one with HEPA filter actually works pretty good

I agree- this one is great. I install cabinets and use it every day. The filter does get clogged, but I clean it at the end of every day. It’s really loud though. The first one you show isn’t great, but it’s ok. It’s wet/dry so good for draining a toilet or if you have a flood.

Have the first one. It’s supposed to be a wet/dry vac. First time I used it wet to empty out the contents at the bottom of a decorative water fountain it stopped pulling in anything at all. The “float ball” gets stuck in the up position and just shuts down all suction. Even after thoroughly drying it out, cleaning everything etc it no longer will work as a vacuum at all. Wasted money.

If you’re already in their ecosystem, Dewalt makes a 20V version. I’ve got a couple of them, they’re decent vacuums.

I install flooring and saw a deal on the DEWALT 20V Vacuum and picked one up and have loved it for quickly vacuuming up the floor. My wife stole it and keeps it at the house now, uses it every day and absolutely loves it.

I have the first one, battery only version. My wife and I have found tons of uses for it. Might be our favorite vacuum.

DeWalt 20V cordless car handheld vacuum. My tools are already DeWalt so batteries aren't an issue. Lots of accessories in the box. Powerful, perfect for car and also for project clean up. It's like $149, but always goes on sale. Had it for years, no complaints yet. If you're a Milwaukee guy, and have the batteries already, they probably have an equivalent.
