Costco sells an 8 gallon DeWalt shop vacuum that is around 65 decibel, stainless steel and 8 gallons. I used to use ear protection with an old one growing up, this new one is comfortable without. Also, Costco has the Dyson V15 currently for 600 bucks. My friend, and then later I bought a Miele canister vacuum and we've both had multiple problems. His was new, the pet one, and had the brush burn out once or twice needing replacement. I got mine refurbished on eBay and the first one had a defect in the roller, the second one worked mostly good but the lid didn't close correctly on the bags so they leaked. Both our partners dislike the Miele canister vacuums because they are cumbersome. My friend got a Dyson V10 or something refurbished online for under 300 bucks and they both love that and it's their primary vacuum. I then got a V15 a couple years after and my partner loves it. Dyson sticks are much more convenient and easy to use. I had also bought a cheap, 100 buck refurbished Shark stick vacuum from Amazon, that's poor quality and I don't recommend a cheap one like that. The Dyson contains almost all the dust in the canister and the HEPA filter doesn't really plug up. The cheap Shark uses the filter for dust and it plugs up quickly reducing the suction.
I use the Dewalt wet/dry vac because spills happen in weird places in the van. The small version, there’s 2
Miele Guard M1 Parquet. It’s part of the family. Also a big Dewalt shop vac for any house work or construction. Also part of the family.
I have a Dyson Animal (v6 I think) that has lasted me almost 10 years, although I had to replace the battery once. I mounted the charger in a small closet where I keep my cleaning stuff and it takes up next to no space, which I appreciate and I would have loved when I had a studio apartment. Mine is cordless/bagless and I wish I could cover larger spaces before having to empty the canister…but 3 cats create a lot of tumbleweeds. I like it, but for full disclosure I turn to my DeWalt Shop Vac for larger/heavy duty vacuuming.
I was really thinking about this shop vac, but in the end I bought a plugin DeWalt for a lot cheaper since I have the Ego Powerstation if I don’t have an outlet near by.
i have their corded little wet/dry. only dewalt thing i own and love it.
