"Mine sheds consistently so the lightness and suction power makes it easy to do a few quick pickups a day vs long, thorough cleans that last all of 2 hrs."
"Need to vacuum up sawdust and aluminum chips and plastic shavings and metal filings? The Dyson will do it."
"does a better job than our cleaner's vac"

"I live in a 2700 square foot cookie-cutter tract house. First floor is laminate with an office that has carpet. Then there’s the stairs which leads to 5 carpeted bedrooms, two tile bathrooms, a laundry room, and a walk-in carpeted closet. I can get all of that done one charge."
"being cordless and effective for what I need. ... For some the tradeoff for cordless, no bags, good suction, etal means we vacuum more than we otherwise would. ... I never would have thought I'd defend a near $1,000 cordless vacuum but I got one as a gift and will never buy anything different now."
"They always miss the entire point of a dyson, which is completely convenience. ... I don't want to lug around a bagged vacuum, I don't want to have to plug it in, dyson retains the build & performance but makes it cordless and quiet."

"My cordless Dyson lasted 3 years. ... not worth having to replace every 3 years"

"The thing would not suck up the bigger chunks of dog hair on hard floors bc the head sits too close to the ground, so it ends up pushing bigger debris out of the way. ... I kept having to lift it up then drop it on top of the chunks of hair to suck it up. ... Sometimes it would kick the dog hair out instead of sucking it up. ... I was getting so mad and was very tempted to drive 20 minutes to my place for my Shark."
"the amount of dog hair / ETC it can get out of the carpet vs the Dyson Cordless cannot be compared."
"the cordless Dyson isn’t that great for carpet/rugs ... I have the old school Dyson Ball vacuum cleaner and it’s sooo much better for rugs"
You won’t be able to buy a corded Dyson with power head but the rationale behind them discontinuing them because 1. They don’t make as much with a corded vac and 2. By popular demand people want portability and convenience. Sell what people mostly want and mark it up like crazy. Why anyone would pay $1000+ for a Dyson cordless stick vac goes beyond me. Rather than thinking that seeing the dust in the clear bin and then having to deal with the gnarly dust in the dust bin every time you vacuum focus on a vacuum that can really get the dirt out. Brands like sebo and Miele are constantly recommended here because they have incredible cleaning capabilities and the long term quality to boot. While you won’t be able to see the dirt that you certainly will feel it and the quality of the vacuum will be LIGHT years ahead of Dyson. Alternatively you can start hoarding some Dyson vacs now while they’re still kicking around but that takes up space and requires effort to find a good working example that you can store for future use. I have a Dyson V10 and mostly like it for its battery life and general suction power. What I loathe is the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. So much cheap plastic and non interchangeable parts between pretty much every generation of vacuum! Why can’t I use my DC35 accessory kit with my V10? Pretty much have to consistently repurchase everything over and over which seems quite wasteful. Let your tactile feel be your new psychological motivator. You CAN feel the difference with a high vacuum. I’d hold off until your Dyson completely does as sebo and Miele will be around for a long long time…. But when you really need one or keep you eyes open for a gently used one and save some money.
r/VacuumCleaners • My next vacuum cleaner ->No that’s not true at all. I have a Dyson v10 and it picks up sorts of things. Will it suck nearly as hard as my Sebo or central vac? Nope but it does a decent job of maintence cleaning. A relative of mine has two cats and two dogs and he has a v11 and it works fine there too in conjunction with his central vac.
r/VacuumCleaners • Are cordless vacuums really useless at picking up dust and dog hair? ->this is a great review and I share similar sentiments. I missed out on a lightly used Felix in white (even though I have a minty one in Onyx as one of our daily drivers). The vacuum albeit heavy and not very stable when using the hose (tends to tip over) that it is a crazy powerful vacuum cleaner that gets the job done and you can just FEEL the quality built into this thing. I would have ZERO hesitations recommendation Sebo vacuums and I'm not even a vacuum sales person - just someone that really enjoys the fine high quality engineering and build quality of their vacuums. While I admit that we also like our Dyson V10 absolute a lot for the day to day light cleanups that for the deep cleaning of the shag rug and hardwood floors that the Felix or his canister brother the D4 is always used to give everything a very very VERY deep cleaning. My spouse has suggested I get rid of one of our Sebos is "never in a million years will I give up the units we currently own".
r/VacuumCleaners • [deleted by user] ->I'm not sure if I agree that there isn't suction (there is indeed a decent amount of suction) and as a V10 and V11 user that while I actually dislike Dyson A LOT that their vacuums have their place. Permitted you got them on a deep discount then they're alright for light clean up jobs. I never agreed with their marketing to say they can replace a full sized vacuum or have more suction. They're cheaply built, have rather pricey consumable and worst of all they have the gross bin that puffs out a nasty dust cloud every time you empty them. I'm very much a SEBO user (have 3 + central vac) but the Dyson and even roombas are used for the quick pick ups and maintenance vacs.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->I bought a V10 absolute on Black Friday back in 2018 and it was used almost daily up until a few months ago. Battery is starting to show its age, but still holds at least 3/4 its original capacity. I’ve replaced the washable filter and the top canister gasket once each, and done a partial tear down to blow it out with compressed air twice. I’ve definitely gotten my moneys worth out of it
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->My Dyson V10 Absolute dates from Dec, 2019, and is still working with the original battery. True, the batter doesn't last as long now. But, overall, the vacuum works well on our hard surfaces (most of the house) picking up German Shepherd Dog hair. I have been, and still am, considering a bagged canister, but each time I start looking, my brain gets tired.
r/VacuumCleaners • Ive been trying to find a vacuum, I scoured the sub for hours. Conclusion? r/VacuumCleaners hate vacuum cleaners and apparently i should just buy a broom. ->I’ve had two. The Dyson v8 absolute. And the 10. Both are spectacular batteries have never had an issue. Have dogs and 4 girls. If you take care of them they take care of you. Clean them out once or twice a year. Sorry to hear about everyone’s bad luck. Maybe I got two well made ones not sure. But we used both daily and never had a single issue. Going on 8 yrs and they both still run great. Still same factory batteries. Old one went up to our camp when we bought the new one. Used the one at camp 3 weeks ago not a single issue. Sorry you all hate Dyson so bad but I’m on the other side on this one
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->The Dyson from V10 up are all great
r/newzealand • Best stick vacuum for pet hair ->I got the V10 after asking a similar question here and I’m obsessed, it’s great! And someone here said it’s better to have one with no display as it may cause issues.
r/dyson • Which Dyson cordless vacuum is actually worth it? ->I have had a V10 for 6 years now. I love it. It doesn't have the swappable batteries so that is a limiting factor. It works amazingly well otherwise. You are able to unscrew the battery and buy a Amazon battery and just swap them that way. They don't lock in place but the friction fit holds the battery in place. At this point the original battery doesn't last more than 5 minutes but the Amazon battery will last a while and only cost like $40.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Dyson Cordless Vacuum? ->I love my Dyson V10 stick. I have a cat who sheds like crazy and it gets it all up. I bought mine on sale a during the lockdown. I had an in-house vac in those days and a much larger townhouse. My black cat's favorite place to play was on my off white stairs. During lockdown I was doing all my own vacuuming and it was hard at my age. My steps were looking grey from Emma rolling down them as she chased her cat toys. I tried the Dyson V10 because it was on sale and it changed my life.
r/internetparents • Internet Mom/Dad, what're the BEST vacuums overall? ->When I originally purchased the V10 I was in a 3 floor townhouse with a mix of hardwood and carpeting. Now my condo is about the size of yours. With all hardwood floors and some rugs. I run it on max power especially over my Oriental rug which seems to collect most of the cat hair. I do like you do, alternating days to vacuum different sections. There are times when the kitchen is all I vacuum after cooking. The stick vac is great because where I am now the storage is very limited. I just happen to have a plug in my storage closet so that is very helpful. I hadn't heard of the Miele before but will check it out if this one should go. I know my cleaning lady loves Dyson. She brings her smaller one when she comes every other week incase mine doesn't last the entire time.
r/internetparents • Internet Mom/Dad, what're the BEST vacuums overall? ->The ball version Dyson is a beast. I purchased a Dyson stick V10 and was very disappointed with both battery life and performance.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->Get a Dyson cordless. They don't clog, but they're kinda pricey. I think mine is the V10 and it has been a game changer with the hair.
r/labrador • good vacuums for dog hair ->I have a Dyson V10 about 2 years. Soft roller head is great for hardwood floors, instead of plastic wheels would drive me nuts. I got the Dyson over the Miele stick vac because the Dyson can eject the dirt over the trash can so I don't need to spend 30 min cleaning out the canister and the crevices in the canister. The dyson has a ring that pushes out the lump of dirt into the trash can.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->I have a Dyson from 8 years ago.. cordless stick v10. Replaced the canister once cause my boy dropped it, and replaced the roller head once . It’s a great vacuum , sorry you had a bad experience
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->Here’s some general information from my personal experience with a number of various vacuums over the years. I’m based in Australia. Initially I had a top of the range Electrolux non-cordless, bagless vacuum, paid $650 was ok we used it for about 5 years but very heavy to pull around and had to empty it 2-3 times every time I used it as the container was small, I then bought a Dyson V10 cordless stick vac just to do quick jobs but it became our main vacuum for ease of use. The Electrolux got stored under the house. The Dyson had a motor problem at just close on two years but it was still under warranty. I called Dyson. Their service was incredible, they were like no problem will send you a whole new motor unit which is the main part of the vacuum, I’ve now had it for over 4 years and I think the battery is just about done, we still use it but not as much, will look for an aftermarket battery. As I also do property renovations so I bought a small cheap $200 corded, bagless vacuum from Bunnings, for really dirty and dusty post construction cleaning (plaster and tile dust kind of work) it actually worked really well for the price (Pirana Velocity but can’t find them around anymore), I eventually couldn’t find filter parts for it (either original or aftermarket) so it got thrown out I really liked it for the price. (A note here, I worked out this group https://hegroup.com.au/collections/brand-piranha?page=1 seem to manufacture the OEM vacuum cleaners and do the spares for lots of the different re-branded vacuums, you find around in Bunnings and other places, they seem to just slightly change plastic colours and designs you can see how many types are on their website, likely a model only gets parts supported for a short lifespan then you can’t get them anymore). Years later we pull the Electrolux vacuum out from under the house and use it to suck the air out of those vacuum seal bags that you use to compact down clothes and bedding, it kills the motor on what was a $650 vacuum, I take it to a specialist vacuum repair guy but it’s too old to fix as you cant get parts (over 10 years old now mostly spent under the house). I asked him what would he buy himself, he recommended a Miele bagged vacuum. Since at this time we also hired a cleaner (more friend of a friend as we needed to supply our own cleaning supplies) I bought a Miele C3 corded bag vacuum (and pack of 4 bags as it only comes with 1). I think the C3 model is just going end of life being replaced by their Guardian series when I got it August 2025). So to summarise my long vacuum epic. I’d buy a Dyson Cordless if I had a small house or apartment, easy to use, pretty reliable, parts easy to get and great after sales service. If you have a big house (we are now in a 5 bedroom across 2 stories and with 2 cats that shed hair) the Miele bagged vacuum is a good choice, German made (very reliable according to the repair guy who recommended it), feels like a powerful workhorse, both my wife and the cleaner also feel it’s really good, and I’m really amazed how infrequently you have to change the bags as the dust compresses in them (maybe months depending how often you vacuum), and it’s quick clean and easy to do vs bagless. There’s no fiddling with catches to open them, having to stick your hand inside to clean cat hair and dust from around the metal cylinder, or having to wash and dry filters. Hopefully someone finds this helpful.
r/VacuumCleaners • I've worked in a vacuum cleaner factory in China for over 15 years. Ask me anything about cordless vacuums! ->This might get me down votes but I will say it anyways. Getting a popular brand isn't always a bad thing. Why? Because there will be an absolute load of aftermarket accessories and replacement parts. Dyson may have its issues but it's super duper easy to find different replacement heads and replacement batteries. Their warranty is also fairly good, with them sending replacement pieces for free if it ends up breaking within that warranty (I recommend registering any vaguely expensive product you buy immediately after unboxing to make this process a billion times faster. I cleaned houses with my V6 and the only thing that sucked about it (pun not intended) was the battery life. God did I love that vacuum and, despite me using it probably 5 full charges every single day for over a year before I left Australia, it never lost an ounce of suction and was just really reliable. My family now has had two V10s for about 3 years now (thanks to us getting one for our house and one for my sibling before he moved back in when Canadian Tire had them on sale) and it's pretty damn nice to have a quick and wrist-friendly way to vacuum up since we have 4 people, 2 dogs and 4 cats in our home. I 3D printed a handle so you can hold it like a chainsaw and bought a third-party mini upholstery head for them and goddamn does that thing just pull so much sand and dirt out of our carpets. We have only ever killed one powerhead thanks to a carpet that destroyed the bearings and the 3rd party replacement head we got was only $35 CAD and came with a cool light to see dirt and stuff on the floor.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I threw out my Dyson v10 that couldn't suck up a wad of dust hair if it wanted too, with a Sebo Felix ET2 I found on eBay for half the price of a new model. This thing made me realize how bad battery vacuums are after it made my carpet look like brand new! I would seriously recommend any sebo product even used!
r/VacuumCleaners • Alternatives to Dyson ->I used to work for Dyson. I will swear by my V10. Clean the filter when needed, take care of it, this one has lasted me 5 years so far. It is the best vacuum I’ve owned, and this is after I quit the job. I’ve bought one for my mother, and recommended one for a friend.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Dyson Cordless Vacuum? ->Only on V10 and v11 screw in types otherwise Dyson triggers don’t break. Performance is there - quality is questionable. Heaps of maintenance needed. I am the dyson reddit mod and a Dyson business owner.
r/VacuumCleaners • Best Cordless Vacuum ->Never had any issues with either of my Dysons, my upright is 7 years old and still going strong,
r/askcarguys • Good wireless car vacuum cleaner? ->I have a Shark that feels worse than the Dyson. Performance is fine, but it feels more fragile and has had more issues with the design itself having some major oversights. I had a Dyson v10 that was ~8-9 years old that my ex took when she moved out. It was still running strong. I’d have preferred to keep that one. I know there’s debate about what BIFL means, but Shark and Dyson are either both BIFL or they’re both not. They’re too similar in quality. For me, the 8+ years on the Dyson was pretty good. Maybe not BIFL, but it wasn’t done yet.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Dyson Cordless Vacuum? ->I've had my Dyson V10 since 2016 and it's still going strong. It works GREAT for pet hair! I would highly recommend
r/VacuumCleaners • What should I get to vacuum lots of cat hair? ->Get a used v10. I have one for daily cleanups and lug out the Miele c3 for deep cleans. Used v10 are fairly cheap, under $150 and replacement batteries are $40 on amazon.
r/VacuumCleaners • Which Dyson cordless vacuum is actually worth it? ->I have a litter mat that works well to catch the initial track and a Dyson V10. On the boost setting it works well to get the litter out of the carpet. This is the one I have. r/VacuumCleaners • Best vacuum for getting litter pieces out of carpet? ->Yeah, I’m on my third replacement Dyson V10 and I’m done. I’ll never buy another Dyson vacuum at this point and I can’t recommend anyone else do the same. It kills itself if you leave it charging for too long, and it kills itself if you use the advertised high performance mode.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I’m using a Dyson V10, 4 years and running, I think it’s good but pricey. When it spoils, I will likely just get another one But since you’re vacuuming daily, I would actually recommend a robot vacuum. Really amazing.
r/askSingapore • What vacuum cleaners are you using? ->$400 is steep, this model was launched in 2018 and really should be cheaper by now IMO. Also, cordless vacuums generally only last 3 to 5 years. If you're ok with dropping that kind of money for that kind of lifespan, it's not a bad performer. Alternatives I'd look for would be a miele duoflex or triflex. And ideally you'd have a solid corded vac in the side for deeper cleaning/when this breaks.
r/VacuumCleaners • Thoughts on the Dyson V10 Animal+ for $400? ->They're great as a secondary vac for quick cleaning, no doubt superior for quick run arounds. They should always be accompanied by a corded vacuum for deeper cleaning and reliability. I wouldn't call the v10 or any cordless dyson rock solid, the joints are really loose and get worse over time for one. Batteries fail. I had a v10 which failed a month after the measly 2 year warranty ended, and I took exceptionally good care of it. Plus random other failures appear commonplace.
r/VacuumCleaners • Thoughts on the Dyson V10 Animal+ for $400? ->Dyson's ranked at all. They are very poor performing. Didn't see any sebo in the first at least 10
r/VacuumCleaners • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Popular doesn't mean good. It means lots of marketing. As someone who owns a v10 and a Miele c3 complete, the Dyson is a toy
r/VacuumCleaners • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->When we bought a multi level house and had pets and small children around we wanted to "upgrade" as well. Any with a Dyson stick as they seemed to be good. We loved the portability over the old hover and thought it was great. After a few years it started to show the truth. Crumbs would fall back down the tube. Multiple passes over items would still leave them on the ground. We when went as far a getting the old Hoover back out and realized just how much the Dyson missed. That lead me down the rabbit hole of what is actually good. Ended up with Miele, it's remarkable how well it performs.
r/VacuumCleaners • Looking for the best Dyson cordless vacuum -help me sort the lineup? ->Had a horrible experience with a Dyson v10, would personally never recommend the brand. Mine failed under warranty and failed again, it’s just hanging in my closet as it barely works. For the price, absolutely useless.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Oof, classic Ryobi bait-and-switch. It is great for tools, terrible for vacs. If you’re looking for real performance under $500, start with LG CordZero, Tineco A11/A15 Hero, or a used Dyson V10/V11. If battery cross-compatibility isn’t a must, just get a vac that actually vacuums.
r/VacuumCleaners • RYOBI Stick Vacs Are downright awful, need advice on replacement ->Agree 100%, it's a pile of shite. No matter how many times I clear debris out of it and wash the filter, it'll still do that stupid suck, stop, suck, stop with a flashing filter light. When switching it to max. The only good thing I can say about it is the fun "Peeeeewwwwww! Boing!" Noise it makes if you quickly tap the trigger.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->Using the same as well for 4 years and it is good for everyday use. The regular floor cleaning attachment broke. The original part is quite expensive so I bought a Chinese 2nd source part which is compatible and considerably cheaper. A bit more noisy at the wheels but works well.
r/askSingapore • What vacuum cleaners are you using? ->Dyson 10 rechargeable, yes I have to dump it out a lot but not that hard to do. Also we have no rugs or carpet in house.
r/germanshepherds • Best vacuum ->I really like their vacuums. So much that I have two of them, the v10 and v11. Their customer service is excellent
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->dyson v10 def beats the samsung for carpets despite the dyson now having a dual use head i too didn't like having to mess with the filter every time i emptied the samsung bin i'd have gone for the samsung on clearance if it were better. it was on clearance for like two months. the dyson outsize is the only clearance dyson i've ever seen and it lasted less than a day
r/CostcoCanada • Any reviews on Shark vacuums? ->i'm comparing to the samsung here, and i can literally see the difference in their canisters doing the same bit of flooring. an additional point of difference is that the dyson stick compacts the dust it gathers in the bin a lot better i have yet to try the miele tri flex, they are not in warehouse and i don't feel like buying it online with no discount as for vacuum shops, it'd be more useful with % based stats but how tf they gonna do that without sharing data between retailers and yes yes we all read the coffee guy's ama
r/CostcoCanada • Any reviews on Shark vacuums? ->Any home model will do as they are all wireless and quite portable. Mine is quite old, probably a v10, but there are many newer models and I can vouch for Dyson. They are also top notch at hair dryers. You will never go back to traditional hair dryers 👊🏼
r/Detailing • Best Vacuum Cleaner for Car ->Very well and very durable.
r/Detailing • Best Vacuum Cleaner for Car ->I own a company that boards dogs. I only buy Dyson V10’s for our locations SOLELY because it’s the one brand that hasn’t crapped out on us in a few months. We have 6 dysons in use for roughly 1.5hr runtime EVERY DAY. We hardly do maintenance on them (basic filter swap, cleaning canisters) and they seem to continue just fine. I’ve tried every major brand including commercial and even the major Chinese Amazon brands, and I really don’t get how Dyson of them all is the one that’s lasting. But I am sorry you seem to be having issues
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->I highly recommend getting a refurbished one for much cheaper or even a used one for cheap. The new prices are kind of outrageous. There's a website called slick deals where they have the v11 on sale with a 2-year warranty as refurbished by Dyson for $250. This is a good deal! Just make sure not to drop the thing and to always leave it laying on the ground when not in use as they are very plasticky and can break. And don't use it on its high setting unless really necessary as it deteriorates the motor and battery life. And remember to clean the filters roughly once a month I don't recommend the V10. I recommend either the V8 for how lightweight it is or the v11 for its easy empty function. I would not recommend the V12 because it's connections and accessories aren't interchangeable with other Dyson V-series vacuums. Same with any other "slim" variants. Also note that the V6 had completely different attachments than all the other models. I' own three Dyson stick vacuums and recommended them to family and friends and they all love them as well. In my opinion, the V8 was an excellent combination of good suction, lightweight and cheap. Also starting with the v11, some variants of the v11 have click-in batteries that you can easily exchange with another one. But most of the v11 series has permanently affixed batteries that you have to remove with a screwdriver. Also want to add the vast majority of this subreddit is against Dyson vacuums and they're pro corded bagged vacuums. No need to pay more for the laser soft fluffy head when you can get a laser attachment on Amazon for like $20. Or AliExpress for like $5 I believe the best one is named "Bahuun dust cleaner display led" I definitely would not recommend paying a lot more for the v15 or Gen5. The benefits do not outweigh the increase in cost in my opinion.
r/VacuumCleaners • Which Dyson cordless vacuum is actually worth it? ->I have 2 cordless vacuums both work ok on hardwood floors and are terrible on carpets, Dyson v10 and a tineco, Dyson was $700 and is in my kitchen Cdn and the Tineco was $100 and is in my basement. When my Dyson dies I’ll replace with a cheap vacuum like the Tineco to supplement my Sebo.
r/VacuumCleaners • Ive been trying to find a vacuum, I scoured the sub for hours. Conclusion? r/VacuumCleaners hate vacuum cleaners and apparently i should just buy a broom. ->Forgive me if I'm wrong but the battery is replaceable on the V10, usually 2 screws to remove, one is behind the bin. Doesn't excuse how shit the battery is in the first place tho.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->I commonly see the claim that cordless vacuum cleaners cannot clean carpet adequately. To be clear, aside from the claim being entirely too general, there is no study or test that has proven that they do not clean carpet or hard floors effectively. In fact, we have reason to believe the opposite through observable performance. I think it is about time we stop peddling false or misleading claims on here. It takes away from valid criticisms of modern cordless vacuum cleaners. With that said, there are cordless stick models that are up to the task in performance and some that are not. I would avoid cheap, no-name ones off Amazon, for example. Most of them have the power of a DustBuster and are of shameful quality. There are some brands that are worth a look, though. If you can find them for something in or near your price range, Dyson makes the V8, V10, V11, and V12 that would work for your situation and be relatively close to your price range. Costco sometimes has great deals on them. The older models like the V8 and V10 fall quite a bit below the newer ones and some other brands in suction and airflow, but should be fine with hard floors and area rugs. LG cordless vacuum cleaners are also solid next to the competition, with models such as the CordZero and CordZero Kompressor that are on [LG's website](https://www.lg.com/us/vacuum-cleaners). Samsung also has an intelligent design department and sells powerful models such as the Jet 75, Jet 85, and Jet 90. I am partial to the LG models since I have more experience with them and they seem to hold up to abuse fairly well, but Samsung sells a fine unit too.
r/VacuumCleaners • Are there any cordless sticks worth it? ->I changed the battery (get a 3rd party off amazon) and it worked as day 1.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->I have a few Dyson cordless (V8, V10, and V11). I don't think they are worth anywhere near retail price, and I've only ever bought mine on Marketplace for well below (still NIB). The trigger on my V11 broke, but I managed to install an aftermarket replacement that I got from Amazon. Aside from that, they've worked well for me. However, I am only ever sweeping dust and dog fur from hardwood and tile. It's probably the easiest job for a vacuum. These are lightweight machines for lightweight use. Basically just very expensive "dust busters." I've never owned one of the corded models.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->I bought a V10 and had brand new hardwood floors. They market the regular brush head as being safe for all flooring. I found out the hard way, that it was removing some of the finish by some of the beveled edges. So I bought a V15. Thought the fluffy would be safe. It was not. Returned both to Costco.
r/VacuumCleaners • I got a Sebo Felix for FREE! ->I have had a very heavy Electrolux Epic 8000 canister for 19 years. Bought a Dyson thinking it would work well for in between, and thought it would work well for all the Golden hair on my NEW hardwood floors. The V10 Dyson head was taking the finish off of the tops of some of the beveled edges! I liked the convenience of it, so bought a V15 thinking the fluffy head would not damage my hardwood floors, but it also was doing the same. Returned one V15 thinking it was a fluke. Bought another V15, and the canister seal broke after a month. Returned again to Costco, and never again for any Dyson! My 8000 needs a new hose, and debated on getting that or looking at the store. Vac store had Miele and Sebo, both of which are highly recommended here. Vac store let me take home 2 models to try, the Sebo K3 and E3. The parquet wood floor brush has a better shape than the floor brush for my 8000. I found the smaller size of the K3, and the smaller hose, to maneuver better than the E3. Wish it had a larger bag and a headlight for the carpet brush. Overall happy with the K3. Bought an unused open box unit for $749. My local store recommended the Sebo over Miele, saying the warranty was better. I did not try any of the Miele models. I also like the fact that the Sebo canister models have bumpers around the edges, so they can’t damage furniture, corners, etc. The Sebo K3 would be a bit higher than your price range, and the E3 would be more. Hopefully your local store sells both Sebo and Miele.
r/VacuumCleaners • It is time for a new vacuum cleaner, and now that I am almost 40 I will not be buying it from Walmart. Suggestions?! ->I have a Sebo K3 and an old reliable Electrolux Epic 8000. I bought a Dyson V10 and a V15. Both were returned to Costco. Yes, they are convenient, but otherwise they are crap. Not gentle on rugs or wood floors either.
r/VacuumCleaners • Anyone not like their Miele? ->I’m surprised that all these responses. I was so hesitant to get a Dyson V10, but I did so because multiple people in my family said they were obsessed with theirs. I’ve had mine for four years and LOVE it. Will it have the longevity like a brand like Miele? I don’t know. BUT - in terms of ease of use and effectiveness it is awesome. I think Dyson gets a bad rap because of the price and maybe it won’t last as long as a Miele - but for me even if my Dyson broke today and I got four years out of the 400 dollars I spent I would consider that a win and I would buy another. It will make your everyday life so much easier, and it will make your house so much cleaner because it’s a cinch to use. It has multiple levels of suction and I’ve never had any problems vacuuming anything up. The suction is SO much stronger than my Shark Professional Liftaway I had before the Dyson. It is SO lightweight and I love LOVE not having to wrestle with my heavy and clunky upright, vacuum and deal with moving a cord. I can just zip around my house with the Dyson and it fits into every nook and cranny and no cord to deal with. The battery life is decent and even after four years, I can still vacuum my entire 2600 square-foot house with it. The charging system is so nice… My husband put an outlet in a closet for it, so I can just mount the Dyson on the wall in the closet and shut the door. The attachments for the Dyson are really great as well… I don’t need to use them a lot, but I do use the Dyson for dusting upstairs and it’s so much more effective than using cloths or a Swiffer. The lightweight and cordless thing makes it so great. I have stairs, and I used to absolutely dread having to haul out the corded Shark - especially up the stairs, wrangle the cord, etc so cleaning happened a lot less. For me SO worth it. Yes, I know that for the same price I could be buying Miele that would last me 20 years. But the joy and lightness and quickness and ease of use for the Dyson means that my home just automatically gets vacuumed daily, which I would not do dealing with a clunky corded vacuum. That’s the reality, no one wants to take those things out every day.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->I have a dyson v10 or something. there are two different roller heads, one for carpet, one for hard floors. Every person whose house I have visited does 0 maintenance on their dyson and this is likely the cause of these issues. you need to take the filter off and wash it once a month and take the roller heads apart and remove the hairs that build up on the wheels once or twice a year. I really like it, it's worth buying although it's pretty overpriced.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->Have a smaller one stick vacuum v8 and a big 10 on large jobs I'll use the 10. Rare tho. The V8 works fine for 4 door vehicles
r/autorepair • What have you found to be the best portable solution for vacuuming your car? ->Nothing can compete with Vorwerk, I own one that has almost 20 years and still rocking. I am pretty sure there are many from 80' still working. Source: I have a Dyson v10 and a v8
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->We have hard surfaces on 1st & 2nd floors, Our Dyson stick V8 & V10 (one per floor, oldest is like 8 years?) is great for those; but I'd never rely on it for carpets. For that I have a 25 year old Hoover Windyunnel bagged that is repairable and running well.
r/VacuumCleaners • Alternatives to Dyson ->I have a Dyson cordless v10 that’s just turned 2 years old. The battery wore down about 6 months ago and I tried to get a replacement and they were out. They said I had to call back and they couldn’t just send it when they were in. I called back a few days ago and they said I was out of warranty lol. I did end up getting them to ship a new batter for free. Literally the day before, the join on the head just cracked it half. I couldn’t afford the $150 head replacement so I got an aftermarket on Amazon and it works well so far.
r/VacuumCleaners • My original Dyson lasted me 19 years. Are Dysons any good still? Or should I switch to a Sebo? Have carpet upstairs and on the stairs. Roomba takes care of the tIle downstairs. ->My V10 is doing great so far. Bought it second hand for £10 as spares and repairs. Just needed a new battery. 🪫
r/dyson • Which Dyson cordless vacuum is actually worth it? ->I have had my Dyson v10 for 7 years. It is still as amazing today as it was when I bought it. There is a lot of hate for Dyson on this sub, but it’s really fantastic. I have replaced the hepa filter twice but thats about it. It was cheap and my filter had drywall dust which was my fault. The dyson animal 3 is great for my house’s carpets but honestly its such a pain to use a corded vac, we rarely use it. Get the dyson, wall mount it somewhere convenient and itll be great. I got mine as a single guy, and now use it daily still with two young kids and a wife. No maintenance whatsoever.
r/VacuumCleaners • Should I just buy a Dyson? ->Man I can feel for you I have a V10 and replaced roller motor battery filter after 1 year of use and the unit works on and off for around 30 sec and stops . To get around this I have to connect it to the charger for 20 sec when you do this the vacuum still shows fully charged. I cleaned it for obstruction hair etc replaced the filter. No difference. I will no longer spend anymore money on this piece of garbage!!!!! Never invest in product do yourself a big favour!!!!
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->I'm generally not a fan of Dyson. But, overall they have the best stick cordless vacuums. I know you had the version 7 and was not happy with it. They have lots of sales on their website and you should be able to get one for under $400. Maybe a V8 or even a V10 model. Since you only have hard flooring I would absolutely recommend the fluffy upgrade--we have 2,400 ft² of wood floor and that's what I use. The V8 model is particularly interesting because it can be upgraded using a Milwaukee 18 volt battery eliminating a lot of issues.
r/VacuumCleaners • What's a nice stick vacuum that doesn't cost an arm ! ->I would second this. I've been looking into alternatives as our Dyson V10 is a bit broken now (combination of operator error and appliance age) but I just can't find anything that seems like it will do as good a job.
r/AskUK • What cordless vacuum cleaners are actually worth buying, but don’t break the bank? ->I like it better than my Dyson V10
r/ryobi • Any opinions on this Vacuum? ->As long as my filter is clean, my Dyson V10 will suck itself to my office carpet so hard I have to adjust the setting on the head. I have no other issues than the filter clogging up quickly in a dusty environment.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->Love my Dyson v10 I’ve had it for about 5 years and have replaced a few parts on it but otherwise it’s a gem
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Nee, verschil is niet zodanig groot dat het een wereld van verschil maakt.
r/zuinig • Goedkope koordloze (electrische) stofzuiger tips ->There's a lot of hate for Dysons, but I love mine! Works great! Dyson V10 Cyclone stick vac. Friend has a Dyson stick vac that is still kicking and is ancient- I've never seen one that old.
r/VacuumCleaners • Are there any cordless sticks worth it? ->i have a v10. i like the cordless nature of it cuz it has a stand. i dont vacuum normally, but because it's right there, i can grab it and vacuum for 30 seconds. that usually ends up with me doing the whole room, or my whole place.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->I have a dyson v10 stick vac. That thing really only sucks basic light dirt. Its good for a quick surface level clean up and leaves much to be desired. I also have a ball animal 3. That thing will suck the carpet up from the pad. There is no comparison in suction power between the two. Id put the ball animal 3 up against this sebo any day of the week strictly talking suction power. Thats why i got the animal 3. I wanted corded power. Cordless vacs just dont have the suction power to deep clean.
r/VacuumCleaners • Took the plunge, bought the Sebo Felix Premium! ->Stick vacs in general will never touch canisters or uprights. They just cant because of the limitations of batteries and sustained voltage. Dyson is notorious for the quality of their stick vacs. However, their uprights (some of them) are ok. I have the ball animal 3 upright and its a beast. Ive had it for a few years now with no troubles at all. I also have a v10 stick vac ive had since they came out and the only thing ive had break on it is one of the bin seals on the basket. Its usable without it still. Never had problems with it otherwise, though it is starting to show it needs a battery. Ive also got several dyson fans, one of their heaters, gotten my gf their air wrap thing for hair, etc. Never had an issue with any of them actually. My heater fan runs 24/7 in fan mode. And has for several years. Ymmv i guess.
r/VacuumCleaners • Why are neither Dyson vacuums nor stick vacuums in the recommended vacuum cleaners list ->Amazing the Dyson is so high up there. I have one, I wouldn’t recommend it. I love the Miele. No comparison. FWIW we have 4 air purifiers from Dyson as well… I wouldn’t recommend those either, they make a high pitched sound. I will never buy another Dyson product. They are wildly expensive.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I bought the cheapest Miele I could find (I think it was around 200 bucks… it’s so much better than the Dyson Stick (V10) that cost 700. Dyson is so overrated.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I can say what isn't good. Dyson. Had such high hopes for their cordless V10. It's shite. Note to Dyson: Having a single, non-replaceable battery that only lasts about 12 minutes on max setting is a bad idea...
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->In a long hair household going from a Dyson (v10) I had to give a haircut every room or face the consequences of hair not being picked out of the carpet as well to a Sebo (D4) that I didnt even realize had hair on the roller until I was putting the machine away... antitangle is not really on my mind with the much more powerful machine. Plus being able to pop the whole roller out in a second without a tool it matters to me even less.
r/VacuumCleaners • Anti-tangle canisters vs cordless ->I’ve had a v10 a few months out of warranty replaced bin and big body once each in warranty. Replaced filter twice. It has been an excellent fine dust cleaner and has enough battery for all my weekend routines. No issues with attachments. The brush bristles are quite resilient. Bought the v15 HEPA a few months ago and it’s been great. More power, info and a tad quieter albeit a tick heavier. I love the handheld format. The laser soft roller brush is very nice on hardwood.
r/dyson • Which Dyson cordless vacuum is actually worth it? ->i had the v10 dyson and honestly hated it. it would constantly die while vacuuming even on medium power. the canister was also too small you’d constantly have to empty it. i returned it and got the v10 and man it’s a world of difference. never dies and the canister has massive capacity
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Sister has V10 and I have V11. Both have internal trigger broken as they use a really thin shitty plastic piece for the only part that actually gets used continuesly. Fortunately it's not too difficult to fix yourself, but the customer service made me want to give up on life snd most people would probably just buy a new one.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->I’m in the UK and looking to replace my Dyson v10. I love that it’s cordless and lightweight but I hate pretty much everything else about it. The suction is terrible, I keep having filter light issues where it pulses and then turns off even though the filter is clean, the vacuum blocks up after nearly every use and is really hard to get the dust out of. Can anyone recommend any other vacuum brands that do a cordless lightweight one that doesn’t have the same issues as Dyson? What do you guys use and enjoy?
r/VacuumCleaners • Best cordless vacuum cleaner? ->Just picked one up on fb market place with a boat load of attachments for $120. SV27 which should be the v10 animal or absolute. I know batteries so I plan to rebuild the pack or run an adapter for m18 batteries like i’ve done on older models (not advised) once the cells wear
r/VacuumCleaners • Thoughts on the Dyson V10 Animal+ for $400? ->While I fully agree the Sebos are built to last longer, my D4 is a freaking tank, the Dysons aren't as bad as people say for cleaning. The repairs for the higher end ones are impossible as Dyson won't sell or release parts. My V10 Dyson (manual height+suction level) can do my 1900 square food house on two charges including the stairs and hard floor. If I used my Sebo D4 behind it, there's little to nothing caught. The Sebo is quieter and can be nearly as mobile and it's lighter on my arm in use but not a major thing for me. I use a little Velcro cable tie to keep the V10 going longer than just holding the button. Mine i got new from Costco when they came out and I have had to do some minor repairs and clean it quarterly. When the battery that's built in fails, I'm slapping a M18 Milwaukee Battery on it too
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->It's an interesting place. I use our commercial carpet cleaner once a year. Have a lower pile carpet (2-3 on Sebo) and some rugs that can be done on 1-2 even. I can do the room slowly with either split down the middle or used one after another with very little crossed. I do have 2 people in a household. A Shiba Inu for the dog fur and a Basset + Long Haired Retriever mix. The Sebo is quieter and I wear noise cancelling earbuds to listen to podcasts or music. The Dyson is noticable but the difference is more noticed by my S/O or dogs while I'm cleaning. I bought the Dyson new and got the D4 Sebo second hand, refurbished myself (I build computers and combustion engines, vacuums are easy) for $400 it's a phenomenal vacuum with the E1T head. I wouldn't break the bank to buy one unless you like it or are hard on vacuums. I don't go thru as many bags as I expected but the bagless is nice for a lower consumable cost AND I can charge it during off-peak times for my power usage. The usage isn't minor but if you are a penny pincher it's a point for battery against the wall outlets
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I can't compare to other brands, but I have the Dyson V6, V10, and V15 so I can tell you about my experience with those. The Dyson V6, the plastic clip on the bin broke so it became useless. For the V10, the plastic clip on the bin-runner broke. Took it to a Dyson store and the repair guy replaced it (for free if I recall correctly -- probably under warranty). Still use that one. Honestly, Dysons seem kind of flimsy for how expensive they are, but I liked the convenience and felt the power was fine. The battery lives of those two was pretty sad though -- maybe 5 minutes on the max setting. Maybe they've improved those batteries since their first release, but who knows? I was able to buy the Dyson V15 for about half off, so I jumped at it. I haven't broken that one yet, thankfully. The battery life is excellent (haven't run out during a vacuuming session yet), the auto-detection selects the amount of suction for me, and I love the green light that lets you see dust. The light alone is game-changing. HOWEVER, this green LED light can be [purchased separately](https://amazon.com/s?k=vacuum+led+dust+light) and slapped onto literally any vacuum. Whatever you get, I would recommend getting the light.
r/CleaningTips • Whats the Best Cordless Stick Vacuum to Buy with Powerful Suction? ->I have a Dyson V10 cordless. I had a shark cordless forget the name but it was the top range 2-3 years ago, and that was better then the Dyson. I have now got a shark corded vacuum, going back to corded was and unbelievably eye turning move, I will never get a battery vac again unless it's a robot vacuum, but I can highly recommend shark in general, but I would recommend corded over battery as the power difference and pickup on high pile carpet is much better
r/CostcoCanada • Any reviews on Shark vacuums? ->It's ridiculous how easy it was. Our V7 has finally given up after 4 years of hard labour (long hair cats and carpet do not mix) and I ordered a V10 this very morning along with another adaptor!
r/australia • Vacuum Recommendations? ->I would spend an extra $100 to get the V10 or LG Cordzero from Costco because you can return it when it breaks and don't have to deal with Dyson's nonexistant support.
r/VacuumCleaners • Is Dyson worth the price over Bissell (cordless). ->Went from a Dyson V10 to a Sebo Felix Premium and I’m never looking back. German built and all parts are replaceable, very repair friendly. :)
r/BuyItForLife • Best vacuum cleaner? ->I like the ones I’ve had a lot. My understanding is a lot of the other brands have good vacuums now. I stay with Dyson because I have all the attachments and I know they’ll keep working. You can get a very good Dyson v10 or 11 refurbished from eBay for like 300. Mine looked brand new and has been great c
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->Not going to say the Dyson V10 is the best, but it does a great job on my carpets. I love that it's always ready to go, bagless, and does a good enough job with our cats shedding everywhere. We back it up with a Hoover Powerscrub that we use every second month or so for a deep cleaning About the only brand I'll tell people to stay away from is Shark. Have had two of them die on me within the stated warranty period but then they didn't honor the warranty because it wasn't the actual motor that died. They left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not purchase any more of their equipment based on that service.
r/VacuumCleaners • Best Vacuum for Carpet? Need Something That Actually Works ->Yes, I’ve had multiple Dysons and they are okay, I have a v10 from 2020 and a v11 from 2024 and it all works fine still
r/VacuumCleaners • Should I just buy a Dyson? ->Shark cordless vacuum cleaners are not a type I would recommend. For the price, they have things about them that make them worse than a lot of the competition such as poor build quality and single cyclones. As for cordless, Dyson and LG, and sometimes Samsung, still make the leading mainstream ones in the United States. For Dyson, the V11 to current models are the best on carpet. The V8 is affordable, but lacks the run time and overall power to do a stellar job on carpet, at least in my opinion. Something such as the V15 smokes the heck out of a V8 and even a V10. Even the V12 is decent enough and good if you want something little and lightweight while still being powerful. Also read this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Reviews/comments/1ca9p62/vacuums_to_get_for_every_situation/
r/VacuumCleaners • Best Cordless Stick Vacuum To Buy? ->I got a Dyson v10 and think it’s great, had never bought into the fuss about them till I got one! I’ve steps too and cordless vacuums are so handy.
r/AskIreland • Best cordless vacuum cleaner? ->I have had my V10 for 6 years, not sure if BIFL yet, but seems good so far. Will convert it to take Milwaukee batteries in the near future.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (based on 1,821 users, in the past year) wdyt? ->Have a Dyson pet cordless for quick vacs and was going to get a Miele but have a Sebo and I love it! Also used in the Royal Household.
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->I have one of the original Animals, and it still keeps up with 2 cats who shed and track litter all over the place. I thought it was dying, but I replaced the big secondary filter. It's back up to speed now. I also have a cordless V8 or v10 that I picked up a year or two ago, and it's complete crap.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->Actually I got the Dyson pet specific vacuum and I’m not so happy with it. It is cordless which is great and daily I pick up so much hair but it’s not great for picking up other stuff.
r/CleaningTips • Im so tired of pet hair ->Miele are great pieces of kit all round. The Karcher WD2 is an inexpensive vacuum that does a great job without trying to be clever. We also have a Lidl wet and dry for 40 euro for back up. Cordless, a good Dyson model with pet hair attachment. Just handy to have around for quick jobs. But even with the few quick jobs it needs regular filter cleaning and are quite expensive as a 'quick job' handy tool.
r/AskIreland • What vacuum cleaners do people recommend? ->😂😂 my modern equivalent is the handheld Dyson.
r/VacuumCleaners • What would be the modern equivalent of this? ->Dyson - we've had 2 or 3 handhelds. OK day to day for the hard floors and pretty good for carpets occasionally. Fills up quickly and does a better job than our cleaner's vac but eventually bits break. Normally just out of warranty and parts aren't available directly so I end up on ebay. I'm not convinced it's worth the price tag TBH Shark - I'll look at this next time for price point on handhelds Henry - we've had ours for about 15 years. He's done several renovations, sucked up all sorts of horrible stuff including garden waste. That thing is bullet proof and if it eve does go wrong, it's simple enough to fix Miele - I'm going to look at this next time as it gets some good reccos here Father in law likes his Vax
r/HENRYUKLifestyle • Vacuum cleaner recommendations ->I just wipe it all down with a baby wipe. Tiny, excessive crumbs get vacuumed with the handheld Dyson we’ve had for years. But mostly, I can get it all with a wipe.
r/NewParents • What vacuum are we using to clean high chair/floor after eating? ->I've never had a miele, but i certainly don't buy dyson because it's convenient. They're expensive as hell. I buy dyson because they work reliably for years. I replace the filters every year or two, and otherwise i just don't even think about them. I have a handheld and a plug in dyson, and they have seriously won me over. There's lots of options that are similar on the market, but i've never found any other vacuum that works that well
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Great question! You’re probably in the best position to judge, having so much central vac experience. Personally, I have found our central vac to be more powerful than a top level handheld Dyson or a corded Shark so I feel the central vac is worthwhile. But if you’re sick of the hose (or anything else), the Dyson does a comparable job (maybe 85%?) without any cord. It’s easier to maneuver, quicker to take out and put away, but you have to empty frequently and the charge only lasts 12-15 mins! It’s trade offs all around. So maybe it depends on what you wound do instead of repairing? (Also, you can find used central vacs for cheaper than your repair cost if you’re willing to go that route)
r/VacuumCleaners • Replace central vacuum motor or get a regular vacuum? ->Dyson handheld is great for small tasks especially after the battery died and I put on an adapter for my Dewalt power tool batteries, lasts a lot longer now! We have an corded Shark convertible upright for around the house but it’s awful in so many ways. Tries to do lots of things and does none of them very well. When it dies we’ll get a sebo or a miele. We have a hetty for any DIY stuff but we’d never use it around the house as it’s filthy!
r/HENRYUKLifestyle • Vacuum cleaner recommendations ->Numatic Henry! Wat een topding! We hebben ook zo’n trendy Dyson stofzuiger, maar dat is gewoon best irritant
r/Nederland • Welke stofzuiger raden jullie aan? ->I call my Dyson an electric broom. Great for light cleaning but I count on my Rainbow to do the heavy lifting.
r/homemaking • Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house ->There truly is no solution other than daily cleaning. We are a multiple household and likely will be forever. Currently have one cat and one dog. Dog doesn’t shed but the cat makes up for it lol. My partner and I both have allergies so we need to clean a lot. Having a swiffer helps me (just the dry kind not the mop). I still sweep a lot, but the swiffer is helpful in clinging hair. You say you brush your pets semi regularly. That could be a huge contributor. All pets are different but some need daily brushing. The dog is more breed dependent, but I would brush your cats frequently to see if that helps. I agree a good vacuum can not be understated. I haaaaaate our vacuum but we can’t afford a new one. I am a nanny and will forever covet the Dyson V cordless vacuum line. If you have money for it, they are sooooooo great! So easy to use, great suction, easy to clean.
r/CleaningTips • Im so tired of pet hair ->Dyson cordless stick vacuum makes this chore so much easier. Best $ I’ve spent in a long time
r/CleaningTips • Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 ->I use my Dyson stick vacuum everyday. It’s a workhorse. I bought it on sale for $350. The other cheaper brands were $180 and died after two years and had cracked plastic parts. The Dyson is still going strong
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->Love my Dyson! I’ve owned 3 (1 upright Aninal from 2004, still ran when I donated it last year and only ever needed one belt changed) and 2 cordless sticks. No problems with any of them. The first Dyson I bought replaced a lemon Hoover that cost me as much as the Dyson. I’d never go back.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->The dyson we are just replacing is going on 9 years. We did swap out the battery for a bigger one. It still runs great, except it has damage from falling into the ground due to our child trying to vacuum and leaving it in strange place. But considering how many times it has been dropped its going okay.
r/CleaningTips • Whats the Best Cordless Stick Vacuum to Buy with Powerful Suction? ->Ours took a tumble down the stairs a few times too. So it has taken a beating and it is the primary vacuum we use so it hasn't been too bad.
r/CleaningTips • Whats the Best Cordless Stick Vacuum to Buy with Powerful Suction? ->I feel like cordless sticks are more designed for small flats. Like if I had a house I‘d never buy a Dyson stick. But I have a 30 square meter flat and there is immovable furniture in that space. I probably need to clean 10-20 square meter. The Dyson is amazing for that. I don’t need a battery that lasts more than 15 minutes.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->Well a lot of people own Dysons that are nearly 20 years old and still working fine. That’s good enough for me. Who knows what kind of technology we will have in 2040?
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->90% of the population aren’t real cleaners though and that’s fine. I have a 30 square meter flat. And I work full time, no pets etc. I just need something lightweight and that doesn’t need much space. Dyson is perfect for that. Just because professionals don’t use something, doesn’t mean it isn’t perfect for the average person.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->I have 3 Dysons, 1 corded upright & 2 cordless stick vacs. All operating fine with no issues as of yet. My 1st cordless from around 2006 is stir used weekly. Only I have had to replace the battery & brush accessory. But overall Ive been pleased.
r/VacuumCleaners • Never ever buy a Dyson vac. ->I had the cordless stick Dyson. It was average as far as performance and died within 2 years. I replaced with a Shark that has been doing great for 5 years now and still going strong.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->I’ve got a Dyson cordless and a Miele corded. The Dyson is great for everyday cleaning up after the kids as it’s a pain to drag the other one out all the time. But I wouldn’t want to rely on the Dyson as the Miele is so much more powerful. I think all cordless ones will be limited unless you don’t have any carpets or rugs.
r/AskUK • What cordless vacuum cleaners are actually worth buying, but don’t break the bank? ->I’ve got a fifteen year old Miele vacuum that could suck up a black hole and a cordless Dyson stick thing that has been absolutely fine. The Dyson one is great for everyday cleaning after the kids and the Miele is dragged around every couple of weeks for a deep clean. I also have a Henry that I got after buying the house as I wanted something to deal with the DIY mess. It does the job and is pretty robust but the Miele is much better but also cost a lot more.
r/AskUK • Hoovers. What are you using and why? ->I got an older cordless dyson for free and thought i hit the jackpot. charged it and it only ran for 30 seconds. no problem just bought a new battery for $30. ran pretty well until the brush stopped turning 2 months later. cleaned it, completely disassembled it and nothing. my parents had a kenmore bag canister they didn’t want. i kid you not my carpet changed color. i had no idea how much gunk was missed by my dyson. and the canister came with a bunch of different brushes and accessories and different floor settings. i will never use a cordless stick vac again no matter how much people rave about the dyson. they die pretty quickly and aren’t as durable and multipurpose.
r/VacuumCleaners • Why Are Bagged Vacuums Making a Comeback? ->Everyone in my house has long hair and I bought a Dyson a few months ago. It hasn't tangled up a single time yet, not a single hair stuck on the brush. But they are pricey!
r/CleaningTips • Vacuum for long hair ->Ryobi’s parent company also owns Hoover. I think the future of cordless vacuums is going to look a lot more like the power tool model. One battery platform, many tools. The Dyson model of one battery (which may or may not be in stock on our website), one vacuum is obsolete.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->We use our cordless vacuum just for the hardwood floors and tiles. We used a bagged, corded vacuum to clean area rugs. If I run the Dyson stick over the rugs, I can run the 12 amp Hoover after and still suck up a bunch of dog fur the Dyson missed.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it?
r/nederlands • Over welke stofzuiger ben jij tevreden? ->I’ve had 2 Dyson stick vacs break and honestly the manufacturing seems to get cheaper not better. Just switched to shark and happy so far but when you’re in the $400 range you are buying a short term vacuum anyhow.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->Yes. I use my cordless Dyson daily for small messes and use it as my main vacuum. It’s so convenient. I love it. I also got it on sale at Costco.
r/homemaking • Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house ->Yes, being cordless and effective for what I need. They have HEPA filters, at least mine does. The no bag is a feature for some of us not a defect. It's all a tradeoff. For some the tradeoff for cordless, no bags, good suction, etal means we vacuum more than we otherwise would. I dont make a mess emptying it vs making a mess swapping bags - cause I overfill it. That's a me thing but it's a consistent me thing and I dont have to worry about it with the Dyson. I never would have thought I'd defend a near $1,000 cordless vacuum but I got one as a gift and will never buy anything different now.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Same - Though Reddit seems to hate them. We got a Shark as a gift, lasted 1 year. They replaced it for free. Lasted about 2 years. We’ve had the same Dyson stick over 10 years with no issues. A charge doesn’t last long as long as it used to, but suction is still excellent. I can save you the trouble, Reddit will recommend you buy a $1300 corded Miele/Sebu. If God forbid you must have a cordless, $1000 Miele or $200 shark. I just don’t think it’s worth it for something where the bar is “does it get my floors clean?”. It reminds of certain hobbies like Mountain Biking where anything other than enthusiast-level ($$$$) is ‘junk’. Okay but I had fun riding my ‘junk’ the last decade while saving 8K. PC gaming, too - nobody has enjoyed a game with 12GB of VRAM, apparently.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->I have the rechargeable #2 on the list Dyson stick and I LOVE IT! If you have carpeted stairs, it’s no challenge dealing with those. I live in a 2700 square foot cookie-cutter tract house. First floor is laminate with an office that has carpet. Then there’s the stairs which leads to 5 carpeted bedrooms, two tile bathrooms, a laundry room, and a walk-in carpeted closet. I can get all of that done one charge.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->> Dyson make the best cordless vacuums. Good one! As a Dyson owner I wish I'd got a Shark or Miele. Dysons are average at best.
r/newzealand • Briscoes sale - vacuum cleaner recommendations please!! ->I would never buy a Dyson if it wasn’t for Costco and their lifetime returns. We’re on our third Dyson cordless. They work well when they work, and then eventually they break. Maybe Costco gets cheap ones.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Have an older upright Dyson bag less vacuum, over 15 years old and it’s good. Bought a stick vacuum a couple of years ago for quick cleaning like after kids have demolished snacks, for the car etc and it’s been awful. Barely has any power compared to the proper vacuum, charge doesn’t last long, battery died last year and I had to go in to a store to get it replaced (at charge) then got home and after one use it stopped again. Turns out it was the power adapter/cord that was stuffed, and the back and forth to get them to just post me a new cord was stupid.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->Dyson stick vacuums are definitely powerful enough. Bagless and lightweight, too. Though you would need multiple batteries. A backpack vacuum would make you look like a Ghostbuster. That would be priceless.
r/housekeeping • Backpack Vacuums? Best Vacuums in general? ->Lots of people will shit on Dyson but honestly their stick vacs are great, relatively durable, very convenient and with easily replaceable parts. Very few vacuum cleaners are genuinely BIFL. Avoid Miele like the plague.
->Yep. I hated my cordless Dyson. I couldn’t even get through the living room because I have cats and used the deep clean setting and went slow to get all the hair. It would die after 15 minutes. I bought a corded Shark Rocket and love it as much as one can love a vacuum. The cord is super long so it’s not an unplug/plug situation.
r/CleaningTips • Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 ->The only correct answer. Millions sold and with very little advertising which is a testament to the brand. Been going for years without needlessly changing the design so you aren’t stuck with obsolete parts. Easily serviceable with inexpensive spare parts, all of which are readily available directly from Numatic and a decent range of attachments available too. Bought a Dyson cordless when I first moved in but it just felt a bit work shy and complained a lot. Replaced with a Henry and it’s a trooper. Does everything well with no fuss. I’ve used it in the garage. I’ve attached it to the mitre saw. It’ll ingest sawdust and nails like it’s nothing. Got one at the shop too, I’m sure it’s been there for at least 15 years and it’s used at least three times a week. Hasn’t seen a bag in years. What a fucking *brilliant* machine.
r/BuyItForLife • Vacuum that won't conk out on me after 3 years ->The Dyson sticks are highly overrated. To obtain adequate suction power, you need to use the high setting but your battery will only run for 10 minutes tops.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->We've a Henry pet that does wonders for pet hair on the carpet areas and would definitely get another but the thing just goes and as others have said they hold up to abuse from kids aswell We got a 2nd hand Dyson cordless on cheap a few yrs back - it's grand for a daily clean up on wooden floors - I wouldn't recommend one though if u have pets as it barely does anything on the carpets and I wouldn't go near them at the prices in the shops though.
r/AskIreland • What vacuum cleaners do people recommend? ->I LOVE my cordless Dyson. It felt like a splurge when I got it but it truly makes vacuuming easier around my house. When it dies, I will definitely be replacing with an updated unit or maybe similar style/cheaper brand. But the cordless is also a game changer for me.
r/CleaningTips • Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 ->I mean I have been happy with it. I did buy a replacement battery. But the unit itself is still kicking pretty good. So I’m hopeful to a few more years out of it
r/CleaningTips • Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 ->same here for the Shark Plug in model. the amount of dog hair / ETC it can get out of the carpet vs the Dyson Cordless cannot be compared. For purely hard wood / laminate (or very little rug or carpet) Dyson cordless stick vac is IMO is plenty. Good enough run time, and not heavy or unwieldy.
r/BuyItForLife • Can someone please recommend a good vacuum cleaner for laminate floorings? ->I mean I’ve had my Dyson stick vac for 10+ years, it’s been doing just fine with near daily use. They are surprisingly easy to repair or replace most parts. Just keep them maintained.
r/BuyItForLife • The BIFL Vacuum Market is Annoying Me: help! ->Literally buy it for life. Sweeping is an everyday job and with the Dyson, we vac the hard floor everyday for a few mins and get on with life. Worth the $2xx after rewards.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Call me crazy but my Dyson is still super strong after 4 years. Once the “beater bar” stopped working in mine, called Dyson and they told me to bring it to the Dyson repair place down the street. They gave me a whole new vacuum after 10 mins because they didn’t have a matching color brush head and didn’t want to send me home with a purple and yellow vacuum. When my cordless Dyson stopped working they did the same thing. I’m pretty lucky having an actual Dyson store down the street so I’m sure my experience is better than most, but they have taken care of me.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->Personally I despise the Dyson cordless vacuums, they do not clean well enough for high pile no matter what they say, the battery is garbage, and their customer service is rude.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->I keep mine on top of the washing machine, much better than the Dyson stick vacuum.
r/newzealand • Best stick vacuum for pet hair ->I love my Dyson cordless. Not having to faff around with outlets and cords is the best thing.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->I have a Dyson stick vacuum and I love it
r/Apartmentliving • What cordless vacuum cleaners have y'all had good luck with? ->I have the Dyson battery powered stick vacuum. The laser on the dust roller head is great for getting all the little tiny pieces of dust and debris.
r/litterrobot • Best vacuum for scattered kitty litter? ->I wish I'd bought a Shark instead of a Dyson cordless. I have to empty the Dyson after vacuuming a single area rug, and if I use it when it's a tiny bit too full, it regurgitates a bunch of debris. It doesn't have great suction at the best of times, regardless.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->Whoever has those Dysons clearly doesn’t have multiple long-haired, double coated pets running around. I had the stick and the ball versions and both barely lasted a year
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->We got ours through a friend who works at Dyson so it was more than 50% off and I still consider it an overpriced piece of junk. Of the 3 households I know with a dyson 2 had to buy new batteries, ours has been replaced by a Henry which is way better
r/BuyItForLife • Best Dyson Cordless Vacuum? ->We have a Dyson stick vacuum and I haven't vacuumed since my 3.5yo discovered it at 18months. All I have to do is hold it and suddenly I'm being screamed at until I allow them to vacuum. Needless to say, I'm a big fan.
r/homemaking • Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house ->The sharks are half the price at least and have nearly equal weight profiles as Dyson. Dyson warranties on cordless are just as garbage as everyone else's. Really need to talk to vacuum specialists that take care of vacuums and do maintenance for years. Not reddit consumers who never clean the filters, brushes, or tracks not to mention reviewing vacuums that have only been around for a few years
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->OMG I literally live and die by my Dysons. I have one mounted on my kitchen wall and another for the second floor. I literally use them like 3x a day bc it’s so easy. I will never use a corded again lol
r/homemaking • Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house ->I've had my cordless Dyson for 5 years now. I can never go back. You just need to make sure you take it apart and thoroughly clean it every 6-8 months depending on use. The ease of vacuuming with it makes me despise cord vacuums. I can never go back. Imagine trying to water your plants around your entire house with a hose versus a squirt gun that put out like a hose.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I’d go with another Dyson stick
r/VacuumCleaners • cordless vacuum recommendations? ->I had a cordless Dyson vacuum and I loved it. Someday I might buy another one. The reason I had to get rid of my previous one was not because it broke, but because the filters were no longer available for it on the Dyson website. They sell compatible filters on Amazon, but if you read the reviews, people are saying they are fake and don’t work at all, so I didn’t bother. So my suggestion to you is if you buy a Dyson vacuum, buy maybe four or five filters so that you will be able to use it for years to come. I ended up buying a Hoover vacuum and immediately regretted it because it’s very heavy and tires out my wrist and arm as I use it. Impossible to use on the stairs.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->we have a dyson and a shark. i hate my dyson. i LOVE my corded dyson, but the battery life in the stick vacuum is awful after a while. i like the shark a lot!! it does very well and i haven’t noticed a dip in battery life
r/CleaningTips • Whats the Best Cordless Stick Vacuum to Buy with Powerful Suction? ->I’m sorry, the cordless Dyson isn’t that great for carpet/rugs so I wouldn’t rank it that high. The attachments are excellent for their specific uses like couch/mattress, the nozzle for corners but I have the old school Dyson Ball vacuum cleaner and it’s sooo much better for rugs. Vacuum’s with cords for the win!
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I had a Dyson "stick" type vacuum. It didn't last nearly as long as the price tag suggested it should. The out of warranty repair cost was 75% of what a new one would cost so I chucked it. I replaced it with a **Hoover ONE PWR** at half the price of the Dyson. I've had it longer than I had the Dyson and it's still working great. It comes with 2 batteries so one lives on the charger, the other on the vacuum. Means I've always got a full charge. The Dyson battery was internal so you can't swap out a battery if it dies on you. I would avoid anything that's not a brand name. Before the Dyson there was a generic Amazon no-name special vacuum that I used once, packed it back up in the box, and sent it back. Absolute junk. Bad suction. Just bad all around. Some of them may be fine but I don't trust the Amazon reviews on the no-name ones. They have a "Fieety" brand stick vacuum for $159 with nearly 1000 reviews averaging 4.6 stars. Is it good? You'd think so. But I still wouldn't take a chance on it. Ironically, the vacuum I bought and have had nothing but good luck with has a very low rating on Amazon (only 3 reviews though), but it doesn't matter as it's no longer available since it's such an old model.
r/BuyItForLife • Can someone please recommend a good vacuum cleaner for laminate floorings? ->So, I'm not sure where all of the Dyson hate is coming from, but I love ours. We bought it two years ago and it's still performing like it did on day one. Also: No annoying bags. No hoses that pinch you like an angry crab. (I hate you, Shark.) Super easy to clean filters, including the HEPA filter. It's also relatively light, easy to use/maneuver and is very multifunctional. I will say, however, that if you go cordless and have a space larger than 900 sq ft... you're going to need a second battery (unless they've improved on this over the years), or clean your space in shifts.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Dyson Cordless Vacuum? ->I just took my cordless Dyson to the dump. Maintenance nightmare.
r/VacuumCleaners • Suggest some of the best cordless DYSON vacuums ->We have a Dyson cordless. It's been fine. We had it before we had the dog and it's still going strong 3 years in
r/corgi • Please share your Corgi Resistant Vacuum Recommendations ->I thought my Dyson was shite till I took it apart and cleaned it properly, turns out there was a couple of blockages that you couldn’t quite see. We also have Henry, he’s an annoying fucker but bloody brilliant. Dyson cordless for the everyday stuff, Henry for the once a week major clean!
r/AskIreland • What is the best hoover you've ever owned? ->I had a Dyson ball and a Dyson stick for the last 8 years and made the switch to a Miele C3 last year. I will never go bagless again. Whole house feels so much more clean. I did not expect that.
r/VacuumCleaners • Alternatives to Dyson ->I love my Miele. I’ve only had it about 8 years, but my parents has lasted over 25 years at this point. I also have two Dyson sticks and they work great
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I work in shops, and Dyson cordless vacuums are revered. Need to vacuum up sawdust and aluminum chips and plastic shavings and metal filings? The Dyson will do it. Sharks and similar seem to break in a month or two. The power tool branded vacs are tougher but don’t work as well. The only downside is the batteries, but you can buy a DeWalt or Milwaukee adapter and never worry about it again.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I can't recommend one, but I can say that my Dyson stick vac, besides not sucking well, makes an insanely loud screaming sound, whereas the Miele C3 I just bought to use instead, is much quieter, particularly on the lower settings (where it still creates more suction than the Dyson). Oh and it filters the exhaust air better. Something to consider with a baby..
r/VacuumCleaners • Are there any cordless sticks worth it? ->Dyson Animal Big Ball , plug-in. The pet hair attachment is great plus the main foot too. All the other attachments are ++ but for pet stuff they’re the stars Def not cordless. If I use my bf’s stick Dyson on the rug then use my Dyson there’s a noticeable difference!!! The stick is for quickies 😜
r/dogs • Best vacuum for pet hair? ->My friend with 2 goldens and wood floors gets very frustrated with their Dyson stick, I know a few yrs ago they'd sent it back a couple of times. They also have a miele corded thing, looked v basic but was quite powerful. They'd had it prob 15 yrs when I borrowed it. As for other brands of cordless things, my dad has a vac and I think I did a better job with the broom!
r/dogs • Best vacuum for pet hair? ->I love my Dyson stick vacuum but it ain’t cheap.
r/Cleaningandtidying • What is a good and cheap vacuum cleaner? ->I never pull out my corded vacuum. Use my Dyson stick all the time!
r/CleaningTips • Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 ->My Miele corded vacuum has lasted for over almost 15 years. Some of the attachments look worn down, but they still work very well. I also have a Roomba and a Dyson cordless vacuum, but I don’t feel like it’s a fair comparison, since battery packs degrade over time. I’ve had to replace the battery pack for the Dyson, and my Roomba seems like it runs out of juice noticeably faster than before.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I did not have reddit before buying a dyson but signed up just to warn others. It's a beautiful machine.... that works for a year and then breaks (at least the cordless one) But what makes it worse is for a "premium product" the customer service is up there in the worst I have received. My vacuum broke a month ago (it's only a year old and still under 'warrenty'). \- I have been 30 days without a vacuum (it will probably be 45-60 by the time it's sorted) \- I have spent over 6-8 hours with customer service PS. I reached out on every other channel to give them an opportunity to rectify/ sort this out and they wouldn't do anything about it. Which is why I am here warning everyone else haha I would only every by one again at Costco where you can return it right away. I bought directly from dyson and there is no honor or care for customers when working directly with them .
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->We have Dyson, Miele and Henry. Dyson cordless is the best for daily convenience but not so good for a deep clean and it's quite high maintenance with all the charging, emptying, filter washing, getting hair off the brushes etc. Miele is solid and the suction is bonkers but I wouldn't use it for building work etc as I want to keep it nice. Henry is the work horse for cleaning the log burner, mud, brick, sick. You can chuck anything at him but he falls over a lot.
r/AskUK • What is the best hoover brand that you have had/experienced? ->I have a Dyson and a Miele. The Miele blows the Dyson out of the water. It’s not even a competition. The Dyson is cordless and convenient, but when I really want the floor super clean, I need to use the Miele.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->I really have liked my dysons. I bought first one in 2008 (I had just got a second husky) and I just got rid of it last year. For the past 8 years, I used to like a shop vac of sorts in my basement (lots of fur). I’ve had one since then, still running well, it’s probably 10 years old. It’s in my new house in the basement for the carpet, and I have Dyson stick for main floor (hard floors).
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->Dyson stick. I've tried so many other brands. Dyson seems the best.
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->Exactly this! We hoover multiple times a day with a wild toddler. I'm very happy with the cordless Dyson
r/AskIreland • What vacuum cleaners do people recommend? ->I use the Dyson stick vacuum for pet hair daily and the Dyson animal ball weekly and I brush my dog and the cat who sheds every day and it’s honestly pretty manageable
r/CleaningTips • Im so tired of pet hair ->Dyson Dyson Dyson If somebody made me choose between a free Miele and my Dyson stick I would still choose my Dyson Stick. I cannot stand plugging in vacuums ever again. I can't stand heavy vacuums. I can't stand now vacuums. I can't stand the way the bag vacuum smell because the bag is always slightly permeable it's gross. Dyson. Hands down.
r/homemaking • Vacuum Cleaner Recommendations? ->Spent $600 on cordless Dyson that a piece of crap. Don’t love the corded shark either. Corded Dyson is probably the way to go
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->I have a Dyson cordless. It is amazing. Two Border Collies in the house 🤯
r/CleaningTips • Best vacuum for all floors, pet hair, and heavy duty use that is NOT bulky.
->I had this exact same experience. I bought one a few years back and would absolutely replace it immediately if something happened. I was never the vacuum person in my marriage, but the Dyson cordless vacuum changed that.
r/CleaningTips • Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 ->I feel like I must be the only person who loves their cordless dyson. I have a toddler and a baby and I have to hoover like three times a day.. if I had a big chunky corded thing, I definitely just wouldn't bother.
r/AskIreland • What vacuum cleaners do people recommend? ->I have had one of the OG yellow uprights for about 15 years now and it’s still going strong. Bought a Dyson stick vac last year for convenience and no issues there yet either.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->Kjøpte Dyson for 4 år siden.
->Accurate copy of a Dyson cordless then, in my experience!
r/AskIreland • Best vacuum cleaner under €200? ->We have the shark vacuum others have mentioned, a Roomba, and a cordless Dyson 😅 I still feel like I'm struggling to keep up with dog hair. We just got a new Dyson, but the shark vacuum is 6 years old and still working fine. I do have to replace or clean the filters pretty often though. Edited to add the shark one we have is the navigator.
r/corgi • Please share your Corgi Resistant Vacuum Recommendations ->I used to have a Dyson and just switched to a corded Miele. I loved my Dyson but the power ability on the Miele is waaay exceeding my expectations. I don’t struggle too much with the cord, it’s pretty long and has a nice retractable function. The cordless Dyson is so convenient but I like how much cleaner I feel my house is with the Miele
r/homemaking • Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house ->Purchased a Dyson stick vacuum 2 years ago. The suction power was amazing. The battery would last about 10 minutes on full power. Returned the product to the vendor. If Dyson supported snap in style batteries with a charging station, I would go back.
r/CleaningTips • Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 ->I have the C3 Marin with two cats and it's amazing. The Dyson I had to empty multiple times while using because of how badly the cat hair clumped in it. I also recommend replacing the HEPA filter with the charcoal one.
r/VacuumCleaners • Looking for a heavy duty vacuum for pet hair removal on carpet and hardwood floors ->I feel like there aren’t any bifl stick vacs because bags wouldn’t really be practical, and the better manufacturers know that bagless vacs generally don’t clean as well. FWIW, I have a sebo canister vac for intermittent deep cleans — the thing is crazy powerful, and *will* probably last forever — and a Dyson stick that I use for daily pet hair duty. The Dyson is kind of a joke next to the sebo, but the ease of getting it around the house makes it my go-to for quick cleanups. (The batteries do need to be replaced once in awhile.)
r/BuyItForLife • The BIFL Vacuum Market is Annoying Me: help! ->Not cheap but a Dyson cordless is great
r/Cleaningandtidying • What is a good and cheap vacuum cleaner? ->I've previously had a Shark Upright and now have a Dyson Stick. I think both are fine. Honestly the biggest thing that made me go with Dyson over Shark for my current vacuum is being able to maintain my vacuum. When looking online and in store it was hard to tell how I would clean the regular floor head myself with the Shark, while the Dyson is incredibly simple. Even the filter on the Dyson is washable, I don't have to replace any disposable parts all the time. If I can't maintain and clean my own cleaning tools they're doomed to be replaced sooner.
r/CleaningTips • Whats the Best Cordless Stick Vacuum to Buy with Powerful Suction? ->> The anti-Dyson sentiment in places like a vacuum sub always feels like sock puppets shooting them down to promote their own brand or people just being opposed to what is popular. This and "enthusiests" in any given segment will be willing to give up convenience and performance. They always miss the entire point of a dyson, which is completely convenience. I don't want to lug around a bagged vacuum, I don't want to have to plug it in, dyson retains the build & performance but makes it cordless and quiet.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Also a happy owner of a 20 year old yellow Dyson. I can't stand our cordless Dyson, but my wife likes it. Every 6-10 months I carefully wash the permanent filter, remove the hair from the beater bar, and rinse out the canister. I tried to figure out how to change the HEPA filter when it was a couple of years old, but couldn't figure it out and there weren't any YouTube videos at the time. Now the plastic is 20 years old and I'm afraid to break off a tab so I'm calling it a permanent filter.
r/BuyItForLife • Vacuum that won't conk out on me after 3 years ->100%. Pretty much veryone hates Dyson on these forums. I’d hate to lug my large Miele around with me everywhere I go to clean. I worked as a service tech on Miele and probably won’t ever buy one now. They are both designed for different situations. But the Dyson in my house gets used the most.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->Yeah I worked as a vacuum tech for years and sold Miele, Sebo and Dysons, But Mieles were in for repair probably the most. All the service techs including me hated them. Way over priced and a royal pain to work on/get parts. The Dyson cordless that that I’ve owned for six years now has worked flawlessly and still gets 40 minutes on charge easily. And also for all the Dysons I’ve recommended to people through the years have all worked amazing. Dyson blows the competition away when it comes to innovation, and the overall product experience, especially the cordless game. Will never go back from Dyson. I do really like Sebo! Just expensive and hate bags/low portability.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->Miele is the best but for ease a dyson cordless is good - maybe the pet hair one. I have both- dyson for small jobs and Miele for big jobs. After i upgraded the dyson battery it works better than ever after 6 + years.
r/CleaningTips • Best Vacuum For Pet Hair ->They are dotted around the house: One Shark, one Dyson cordless (on its way out), one Dyson corded. I think there's a second Dyson somewhere, but I use that to suck up spiders and gravel. And a Eufy robovacmop thing. Edit: and a Vax carpet cleaner.
r/AskUK • Hoovers. What are you using and why? ->I think the Dyson cordless is best for hard floors and area rugs. Wall to wall carpet is too dense and requires a corded vacuum. We have no carpet just area rugs and bare wood floors and it handles our dog hair great.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->Yes. Cordless Dyson is the way.
r/germanshepherds • Hardwood floor people’s… are you also vacuuming twice a day? 👀 ->I didn't think so, but I've only used their stick vacuum. It had issues, and when I was in the market for a new vacuum 5-6 years ago I had a couple of friends and also a couple of local vacuum shops recommending I avoid Dyson. I decided to go with a Mielle canister instead. I have two huskies and it does a great job with all surfaces. The canister is very light and not clunky at all to pull around (which was my biggest worry). I'd recommend checking this brand out if you're unsure about Dyson.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->We have a Miele, a Dyson stick vac, and a shark robo vac. We use them for different purposes, but all have their place in our house. Miele came first though almost 10 years ago and it’s never had any issues.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I love my Dyson stick vac for spot cleaning and smaller jobs - couldn’t recommend it enough.
r/VacuumCleaners • Are there any cordless sticks worth it? ->I have a cat and she sheds a lot! 😹 I used to have a Dyson but I hate to hold pressing the power button all the time. I love my LG.
r/Apartmentliving • What cordless vacuum cleaners have y'all had good luck with? ->Ha, I'm on the other side of this. Dyson cordless battery lasted 2 years, replaced under warranty, failed again after a year and a half so I pitched it. Back to a corded canister miele and I love it.
r/CleaningTips • Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 ->We have a Dyson cordless and I love it.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->Thank you I will look into that. I had a bad experience with Dyson - to me it was a piece of junk; only lasted a year. I really liked my two Orecks. In my dreams I want a really powerful robot vacuum but I don’t know if such a thing exists. They seem to be made for hard floors.🙄
r/dayton • Are Vacuum Cleaner Rentals Really a Thing? ->I have had my Oreck serviced 4 or 5 times Day Cin Vacuums. They are great. But at some point I have purchased a new vacuum in service fees.😊 I like upright vacuums but as I get older it’s harder to use it on my two flights of stairs 😹. Bought a Dyson stick vac a couple years ago - big mistake. They are not meant for people with carpets or pets and I have both.
r/dayton • Are Vacuum Cleaner Rentals Really a Thing? ->I have used Dyson stick vacuums for almost a decade and I don’t regret it at all. I have never had any issues with them and the aftercare from Dyson Australia has always been fantastic. I think it’s absolutely crucial to maintain your Dyson to keep it running smoothly.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->Well, just making sure I clean the filters regularly, like once a month or so. And cleaning out the bin part every so often and also the turbo brush. And not over filling the bin. That’s just been my experience, but I acknowledge others have ran into issues with their Dyson.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->I love my Dyson stick vacuum. I stand by Dyson as my brand of choice for vacuums
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Best stick vacuums?! ->The batteries on the Dyson stick vacuums, well, they suck, and not in a good way. They last about as long as a short fuse on a firecracker.
r/CleaningTips • Whats the Best Cordless Stick Vacuum to Buy with Powerful Suction? ->The problem is not that the battery runs out during normal use, it's that EVERY SINGLE TIME you use max suction mode, it shortens the life of the battery. The user manual might say to only use max suction mode in short bursts, but it still doesn't change the fact that max suction mode is so bad for the battery that it shouldn't even be an option.
r/CleaningTips • Whats the Best Cordless Stick Vacuum to Buy with Powerful Suction? ->Our cat loves to get worked over with the Dyson cordless, but he’s kinda special.
r/Frugal • Cat parents - What vacuum do you use??? ->I have bought Dyson cordless for years and they are so good.
r/CleaningTips • Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 ->Can’t live without my dyson!
r/CleaningTips • Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 ->I really wanted to love the Dyson cordless vacuums, but I couldn’t get over having to press the button down the entire time vacuuming. Plus, the stick vacuums are a bit top heavy as well so it just felt super awkward to maneuver. It could just be because my hands are super hypermobile and so it’s ridiculously uncomfortable. I’m researching other cordless/stick brands.
r/VacuumCleaners • Suggest some of the best cordless DYSON vacuums ->I can say the Miele C1,2, and 3 bags or like $45 for the XL ones and it’s 8 bags or for you, a year supply. though you might only go through 5-6 cause they do compact the dust pretty well. And it comes with 2 pre motor filters and 2 post motor filters. So you get to change it’s primary filter every time you change bags, the pre motor filter which is what keeps the motor clean and running for a long time every 4 bags and the post motor filter which is the the last stand filter for anything that might have made it through every 4 bags. Also air flowing through a MERV 13 filter several times is the equivalent to a hepa filter cause they filter the same .3 micron particles and hepa filters 99% and MERV 13 filters 75-85%. So this would be close if not better than “hospital grade filtration.” And if you must they sell a hepa grade post motor filter as well for most models. So bagged would be great for your needs, and for an extra $45 you get a machine that will last at least twice if not up to four times as long as any baggless vacuum. I also own a Dyson stick for the past 2 years and my dad owns a Dyson animal ball for the past 15 years and they work pretty darn well. Shark might not last as long but the don’t leak dust either and is cheaper from what I’ve seen so its also is a viable option. Best of luck!!
r/VacuumCleaners • Do you recommend the bagless Miele vacuum cleaners if I have dust mite allergy? ->I love mine, a Dyson. It lives in our pantry and I use it multiple times a day. It’s definitely not meant for heavy duty vacuuming, I still like a regular old plug in one. But it’s SO nice for a quick clean up with two toddlers and a dog.
r/homemaking • Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house ->Dyson, it’s a larger up front cost but I still had one of the old school yellow ones and it’s 20 years old and still going strong. I also have one of their stick vacuums and its awesome abs had that about 6 years now.
r/BuyItForLife • Vacuum that won't conk out on me after 3 years ->I'm on my second Dyson Animal upright purchased in 2018. Still works great. I also have a Dyson stick vac and use it daily for touch ups. I love Dyson.
r/homemaking • Vacuum Cleaner Recommendations? ->A Mighty Mite, a Henry Pet, or a Dyson stick, depending on the jobs. I’ll occasionally use a client vacuum but generally they’re not maintained well.
r/VacuumCleaners • Looking for a new vacuum, price no object ->Very happy with our Dyson, and also wouldn’t want to lug around a 4ah battery on a stick vacuum.
r/egopowerplus • I'd love to see an Ego Vacuum cleaner ->4 cats Dyson stick vacuum!
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->I’m genuinely not sure what this sub hates Dysons so much. I’ve had an upright for 15 years now and have never had an issue. And I’ve had a Dyson stick vacuum for 5 years and no issues.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->I’ve had a Dyson upright for going on 15 years now and have never had an issue. I’ve also had one of their stick vacuums for about 5 years and again, no issues. 🤷🏻♂️
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->We have had a few Dyson stick vacuums, they are fine but the batteries always seem to die after a year or so (replaceable). Moved onto a Samsung stick vacuum - much better and still going strong after 2 years use. Great for picking up pet fur.
r/newzealand • Best stick vacuum for pet hair ->Yes I found with the Dyson it was great to start with on max power but fairly quickly the time you could use it shortened before the battery ran out. The first we owned we got a good two or more years out of the battery, the next two we owned we only got a year. I have found with the Samsung that after 2 years there has been no decrease in power and there doesn’t seem to have been any decrease in the length of time it can be used before it needs recharging. Wouldn’t go back to a Dyson.
r/newzealand • Best stick vacuum for pet hair ->I have a corded Dyson. My daughter briefly moved in w us and bought a cordless Dyson. So handy! But not as much suction on the carpet living room. But I loved it for the rest of the house and want one. Not being tied to a cord. That part alone meant I was vacuuming more often!!
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->I bought a Dyson cordless vacuum in 2018, so far no issues but then again it’s only been going on 7 years. But I’ve been spoiled by cordless vacuuming, especially since my house was built in the 20s and has few options for outlets.
r/zuinig • Goedkope koordloze (electrische) stofzuiger tips ->I bought a Dyson cordless a few years back and the first week I had it i new it was a mistake it will only stay charged long enough for me to do one room I call Dyson and they said that was the way it was the battery only last about 15 minutes a waste of money I bought a sharp I can leave it off the charger for one day and go back the next day and it is still charged amazing how much a Dyson cost and not worth a dine and a sharp half the price and ten times better I would never recommend a duson
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->I was very skeptical but after that I only used dyson, very neat and really fast, recommended especially for older people because it's pretty light!!!
r/CleaningTips • Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 ->I also have Dyson vacuums (upright plug-in and cordless) and both have served me well, but I have had to replace the battery on my cordless (under warranty) as well as replace the trigger button (time-consuming but only $20).
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->I also have pets and got a Miele C1 Cat and Dog. The suction is fantastic, but due to the fur tumbleweeds and tracked in dirt, I vacuum every other day or so. For that I find myself reaching for my backup Dyson stick - the canister is just too much of a pain for a quickie rug pass. Miele is the weekly “CLEAN ALL THE THINGS” tool. So if you are a chronic vaccunmer, I’d suggest either getting a Miele (or comparable) stick vac, or if you go canister, get a cheap backup for quickie fur jobs.
r/VacuumCleaners • Anti-tangle canisters vs cordless ->Buying the upper range of Shark corded is definitely better. I've owned both. I like Dyson stick vacuum products but wouldn't own one as my primary vacuum in a large residence. In a smaller residence with no pets I could see a great argument for a primary stick vacuum and a shop vac backup for glass breaks.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->Really like the dyson cordless! Didnt buy the fanciest. Bought a shark corded and absolutely hate it after using the other.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->I have both Dyson corded and cordless vacs. They both excel at shedding plastic parts all over the house. Junk.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->if I could jump in, my dyson just died after two years. Need a cordless vac for a three bedroom townhouse. Any recs? for tiles and wooden floors. In australia. No special needs bar some messy kids
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->Cordless Miele is worse compared to cordless Dyson. I have both.
r/CleaningTips • Whats the Best Cordless Stick Vacuum to Buy with Powerful Suction? ->Im in US and LOVE my cordless Dyson vac. Its super easy to get hay clogs out of. Do they sell Dyson there?
r/Rabbits • (Europe) Best cordless vacuum cleaner for 4 rabbits? ->Right. The life of a Dyson Stick is a hard one. It’s not a bagged corded cannister, it’s a lightweight battery powered hard surface sweeper. Miele’s cordless stick isn’t great either.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->Dyson isn't what they used to be. I use one of their sticks at work. It was great initially but I've been watching it literally fall apart over the last few years (first the dust canister kept coming apart, then one of the wheels fell off, then the button that holds the stick in fell off). It gets a little abused, but it's not exactly tossed around. The suction is good. Everything else leaves something to be desired. Your money is probably better spent elsewhere.
r/VacuumCleaners • Is the Dyson worth it? ->Dyson is average compared to miele
r/australia • Vacuum Recommendations? ->Running out of battery while you're vacuuming it so frustrating
r/australia • Vacuum Recommendations? ->4 years for a vacuum is terrible value for money ae. Expectations are so low these days for product longevity. Dyson are supposed to be the most premium vacuum, and it lasts about a year before it starts going down hill. After that you have to buy cheap Chinese battery adapter's to even use them. The filters are impossible to wash, and suction is below average.
r/australia • Vacuum Recommendations? ->Dyson stick. We have 3- one for each floor. They’re amazing. We had a shark and it wasn’t nearly as good so we gave it away and got another Dyson. We have a roomba which is great for daily use but not for deep cleans. We also have a plug in something that we never touch bc it’s such a pain.
r/homeowners • Best house vacuum ->dyson stick vacuum, its the best
r/askSingapore • What vacuum cleaners are you using? ->My experience with Dyson stick. Worked ok first time. Next time wouldn’t work on high, cleaned it out, washed filter, let it dry 24 hours. Next day, won’t work oh high, barely works on medium, low is worthless. Cleaned again, washed filter, let it dry 24 hours. Next time high won’t work, medium pulses and barely sucks. So basically I vacuum carpet, litter gets pushed around room, when I turn off vacuum everything it has collected falls onto floor and I vacuum it up with a hand held ryobi. In researching Dyson problems, best advice on how to fix a Dyson was to throw it out and get something else. Good luck.
r/VacuumCleaners • Dyson v8 plus worth it ? ->We got a Dyson stick for quick and spot cleaning. We got a corgi that sheds like crazy. It helps with maintaince of the fur. A Miele canister is BIFL and will hold up with per hair.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->Did the same. After 2 dyson stick vacuums, I realized they are crap. My miele canister vacuum is a beast.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->They can be replaced w off brand batteries from Amazon for bout $30-60 a pop and stronger/longer lasting. Two screws and the battery pops out and you pop the new one in. No wires or anything.
r/CleaningTips • Whats the Best Cordless Stick Vacuum to Buy with Powerful Suction? ->I did buy the wrong one at first but then just returned it to Amazon without an issue. My tip is to Take a photo of the back/underside of the current battery, it has all the info you need! Then when you get a hair to sit down and Amazon; just look up the photo. The newer and bigger battery made using my Dyson stick a pleasure again.
r/CleaningTips • Whats the Best Cordless Stick Vacuum to Buy with Powerful Suction? ->Yeah I had a piece crack on my cordless Dyson when I dropped it, and they sent me a replacement no problem. While I was on the phone with them, I mentioned the battery was draining pretty fast and it wasn’t sucking as well as it used to, and they sent a new battery and filter as well. Also, it was outside the warranty period, so I was pretty happy with the customer service.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I have two dogs, my husband and two kids at home. Couldn’t handle the mess without my cordless Dyson. I have one for upstairs stored in the master bathroom and one for downstairs. Game changer and back saver! If you can swing it, get it.
r/CleaningTips • Vacuuming my house every day has changed my life ! 💝 ->Dyson en dan denk je Ja die dingen zijn megadur op Marktplaats op zoek gaan die het niet meer doen waar het bijna zeker is dat de accu kapot is accu omwisselen voor een nieuwe en je hebt hem goedkoop
r/zuinig • Goedkope koordloze (electrische) stofzuiger tips ->I agree. We went through two cordless Dyson vacuums in 4 years and that’s not cheap considering they were $600+ each
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->The stick Dyson is crap, not the ball.
r/VacuumCleaners • Never ever buy a Dyson vac. ->My Dyson was the best purchase I’ve ever made but I haven’t tried any of the others that have been mentioned to compare.
r/housekeeping • Need your best vacuum recommendations ->I agree. We have a Dyson and it gets used every day for little spills here and there. Occasionally it’ll take it out to the car for a quick vacuum because… kids. The battery life is abysmal though. I’ve heard great things about the Shark cordless.
r/homemaking • Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house ->I love all the ryobi products i've purchased except for this. Bought to replace a dyson stick and it was far worse and we returned it. Clunky, loud and poor suction. Ended up fixing the dyson stick vacuum
r/VacuumCleaners • Wondering if anyone here has experience or knows of the Ryobi ONE+ Stick Vacuums and could help with advice on if I should get one or not, Ryobi tools have held up for quite a while and one of my favorite brands here in Australia. (I hate the pull along canister vacuums) ->We never tried the shark. Ultimately, we bought some aftermarket parts for our dyson and it works good as new. I love the dyson stick vacuum for quick pickups. We also have a Miele for the whole house
r/VacuumCleaners • Wondering if anyone here has experience or knows of the Ryobi ONE+ Stick Vacuums and could help with advice on if I should get one or not, Ryobi tools have held up for quite a while and one of my favorite brands here in Australia. (I hate the pull along canister vacuums) ->I've replaced like every part except the motor in my Dyson stick vacuum over the last 10+ years and it works great. Being able to get cheap replacement parts is a huge benefit
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->If you don’t care about budget then a Dyson stick vacuum, if you’re on a budget I like my shark stick vacuum
r/CleaningTips • Best vacuum for all floors, pet hair, and heavy duty use that is NOT bulky. ->hahah not sure how acurate that analogy is, but I love it. as I love my dyson, never in my life am I going back to corded vacuums
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Yes, but you need to remember to always return it to the charger, otherwise it will be dead all the time & frustrating when you want to use it. The nice thing about Dysons, too, is a new battery is extremely affordable, so if the battery dies, you can replace it for under $40. I’ve had my Dyson cordless for 6 years, & I had to replace the battery once. I use mine daily. It’s been one of my favorite household “investments”.
r/homemaking • Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house ->I do unplug mine when it’s charged, but I have found that I cannot vacuum my entire house unless it’s on a full charge so it needs to always be “fully” charged. I unplug it when I “close down” the kitchen before bed.
r/homemaking • Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house ->I liked my stick dyson. Made a terrible mistake of throwing it out bc it fell over and I cracked the battery. Turns out you can put any battery on them that's compatible. So, don't be like me lol. ▪︎ Mount it to the wall ▪︎ batteries are an easy fix
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->I literally just finished vacuuming with our Miele. We have 3 kids, 2 cats and a dog and this thing is the goat. I also have one of those cordless Dysons, which are good for spot cleaning here and there, but if I run the Miele immediately after the Dyson, it still picks up dirt! They go on sale sometimes, too. I bought ours from a small local vacuum place in BC called Big Gary’s Vacuums. They were matching the sale price at Costco.
r/AskACanadian • Canadians, I need a vacuum recommendation. 😋 ->Invest in a Dyson. I wasted so much money over the years on cheaper vacuums. I've had mine for 5 years and it's as good as new. It's cordless and I can do my whole apartment on a charge.
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->I think you have had some trauma from older vacuums regarding batteries. Modern vacuums will last double that without losing too much power. It is no different than laptops. Those batteries used to die or be useless in 3-4 years but these days 5-6 is easily achieved, same for phones, and vacuums aren't discharged and recharged nearly as often. To illustrate, my 4 year old Philips vacuum has lost 0 of its charging capabilities. And while I agree that Dyson has good suction, they are reliability nightmares. I had two. I replaced the first after 3 years because it just stopped performing and no amount of cleaning did anything to change that. The second developed the same issues in about 2 years. I managed to convince support to send me a new motor but by then I was so pissed off with the brand (expensive and unreliable are a hateful combo) that I will never buy Dyson again (much of their stuff looks fancy but are outright scams). My Philips 8000 is as mentioned 4 years old and it has lost some of its suction power but will run about 40 minutes on a charge, same as when I bought it. Not super enthusiastic about the suction performance going down in 4 years but it has been better in pretty much every way compared to the Dyson (which refused to hoover up any of the cat litter on the floor eventhough it had much better suction, and it was FAR quieter too). Never again Dyson. Look up Dyson and Scam on Youtube and watch a few vids before you buy anything.
r/CleaningTips • Whats the Best Cordless Stick Vacuum to Buy with Powerful Suction? ->I have used the shark stick and the Dyson stick. I like the shark better.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->I have a sebo d4 canister the motor blew and I got it back within a week from warranty during that time I was using my Dyson cordless it's rubbish
r/VacuumCleaners • Alternatives to Dyson ->I use a Dyson stick vacuum, I do have to empty the canister multiple times for each area but it works great on both hard floors and carpet
r/greatpyrenees • Please help me with a quality (dog hair) vacuum recommendation ->My cordless Dyson lasted 3 years. Recently got a new corded vacuum not worth having to replace every 3 years vacuum cleaners should last 20
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Go to Walmart and buy the Hart $100 stick vacuum. I have had 2 dysons and while they're nice the batteries are trash. I have tried factory and cheap replacements, and not much difference. Bought a cheap Walmart one for the garage and it worked great. Battery lasts forever. It works so well that the Dyson has gone to garage and the hart stays in the house. I've had it for 3 years now, still original battery working just fine. I'd get a year tops out of a Dyson battery. Dyson wins the looks award, but Hart beats it in performance.
r/VacuumCleaners • Used Dyson v8 Absolute ->I bought one of their stick vacuums and the battery died in less than a year. Couldn't just send me a new battery, sent me an entire unit and all the accessories. That one died even faster but they wouldn't replace it as it was "outside the original warranty period". They offered me a discount and I said never again. Found this sub and bought a Miele. Best vacuum ever.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->Can you elaborate what you mean by maintain? I’ve had my stick for a few years and it works ok, but I am completely ignorant about the maintenance.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->Thank you! I have literally not done any of these (other than overfilling, I always empty it after every use). I’ll start following your suggestions.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->I know vacuum fans/experts hate Dyson, but my Dyson has been working great and it actually makes me want go vacuum. I don’t like dragging a cord around. It’s easy to use, my kids can use it too, they love it and take turn to do it.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I got one of the Dyson stick vacuums where you can change the head and neck. It's expensive but I needed the convenience, I love it
r/Bunnies • Vacuum recommendations please? ->I have a lower end Miele as my main vacuum and have had it for 10 years and it is like new... however I did supplement with a Dyson cordless for awhile and it went through a battery every year and I had to replace several broken plastic bits on the cannister.... also those make a mess when you try to empty them..... No cordless vacuums are BIFL.... HOWEVER we did get a Samsung Bespoke Jet cordless vac 2 years ago and I love that thing. Pricy for a cordless but it is way better quality than the Dyson and has a charging base that also contains a vacuum/bag that sucks the dirt out of it into a bag... so completely mess-less. It also has two batteries that can be swapped in seconds like a power tool. The second battery mounts to the dock in a second charger. It is also quieter than the Dyson and the Miele.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I love my stick Dyson! Works great on all types floors thru the whole house. Picks up pet hair & kids messes easily.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums worth it? ->Get yourself a quality bagless stick vac. Super convenient to use, you'll find your house way cleaner because you'll use it way more often. Dyson would be my choice.
r/VacuumCleaners • What is the best vacuum to buy of these 3 options? ->I'm on year 5 or 6 of my Dyson... biggest complaint is the battery seems to not last as long... plenty of use with pets.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->We’ve had our cordless dyson for 5 years but it’s honestly not the best compared to a rainbow or other brands at this point in its life.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Vi har Dyson batteri til daglig bruk.
->I hate my cordless Dyson and had to use the warranty 3 times in the first year. My corded one is fine.
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->YES. I hate vacuums. The noise is awful. My Dyson stick vacuum is tolerable- I can do a quick 5 -10 minute vacuum everyday. (Small house) Otherwise, I’d never vacuum.
r/homemaking • Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house ->I have 3 dogs and 3 cats, we got a Dyson stick vacuum and it fucking rules. We have lvp floors and rugs and it's been great with both. I really like the head that has the laser on it, it shows you eeeevery hair and speck of dust so you don't miss anything. She pricey but she worth it
r/CatAdvice • Can someone recommend me some a good vacuum to buy that can actually handle my 3 cats hair?! ->I pull both Mieles and Dysons out of the trash. These days I only grab the cordless Dyso9ns, but in the past have done the upright models. They are usually work after cleaning up. Maybe half the cordless examples I get need a new battery.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I got Dyson and I love it. she does hard and soft floors, she’s light enough for cob webs, car cleaning, you can lower the suck so if you spill crumbs at night it’s quiet. you can get unbranded acsessories so I got alsorts of things to help clean cars, keyboards, I got clips for the tube to hold more nozzles, I got a big bendy tube so stairs is a breeze. the filters are washable, I got a load of unbranded so I can swap them out more often. any breakages you can buy most spare parts online which is super handy also you just twist the end and the rollerbar pops out which makes long hair cleaning so easy. I used to hate sitting on the floor with sicciors cutting hair off the bar. I don’t miss trailing cables or the bulk of the Hoover.
r/VacuumCleaners • Ive been trying to find a vacuum, I scoured the sub for hours. Conclusion? r/VacuumCleaners hate vacuum cleaners and apparently i should just buy a broom. ->In another life I was a Kirby service tech and I serviced machines on a number of occasions > 40-50 years old. At the time they had parts available for all machines. They ARE expensive (and the sales process leaves a lot to be desired) but are generally built like tanks. If there's a weak point, it's the fan. Even if it is Lexan, hard/heavy enough debris (eg bolts) can shatter the blades. The nice thing about the design is that instead of putting the bag inline with the fan, the bags fill from the top so it's able to maintain airflow. We have one (though it was a gift) but generally use our Dyson cordless day to day.
r/BuyItForLife • What’s the best corded vacuum of 2025??? ->Honestly as an ex appliance engineer, the cordless Dysons are great for use but terrible when something goes wrong. We used to just write them off if it was anything more than a blockage. Dyson are also very difficult to deal with to get parts etc.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I didn't mean consumer end I meant b2b they were difficult to deal with i.e. sourcing the parts for the customer and general support.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Dyson cordless , shark robot and Bisseli dry/wet corded vacuum…what I use for 1000sq with a Saint Bernard …I use Dyson and the robot daily and the bisseli weekly
r/Newfoundlander • Vacuum Recommendations? ->I bought two dysons thinking they were the best. Canister vacuum motor burnt out right after the two year warranty. Stick vacuum battery died, which was fine to replace but still annoying. We’ve been limping along with just the stick vacuum for two years now brutal!
r/VacuumCleaners • Never ever buy a Dyson vac. ->Dyson stick vacuum cleaners are the easiest to use and the best design for domestic use IMO. I had a miele in the past, and dragging around a cleaner on little wheels and replacing bags is terrible: I don't care how long they last.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I think I’ve had my Dyson cordless for longer than five years. I had to replace the battery once. I was told if you are constantly using it on Max, it will go through batteries like candy.
r/VacuumCleaners • Never ever buy a Dyson vac. ->🧹 Broom.and mop are the best . I put a few drops of Clorox and a few drops of dawn to a bucket 🪣 full of warm water( 🧤 )😂 I have a cordless shark vacuum for over 8 years now and it works just fine I also have a cordless Dyson for the days that I don't feel like grabbing the dustpan We are really making our life harder with so many artifacts and I am guilty of that
r/VacuumCleaners • Alternatives to Dyson ->I made the switch from a bagless upright Dyson and a stick Dyson to a Kenmore Pop N Go canister, based on the advice of this sub. I could not be happier. I have three shed monster Australian Shepherds that have killed several Dysons over the years. I am THRILLED not to have to stop and empty the Dyson every 5 minutes. Changing the bag on the Kenmore is a lot less messy than emptying the bin on the Dyson. I wish I bought a canister 20 years ago. The canister is much easier to use on the stairs. It works miracles on cleaning my blinds, which the Dyson was absolutely useless for. It actually gets my carpets clean, which the Dyson failed to do after about a year. Also, the Kenmore is a hell of a lot quieter than my Dyson.
r/VacuumCleaners • Why Are Bagged Vacuums Making a Comeback? ->I’m surprised to see you say Dyson is difficult for parts. I’ve been buying their cordless vacs for 10+ years and any time I need a part they either overnight for free or they charge a fair price.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I’ve only had 2 over the 10+ years. Someone broke my first one and then I replaced it with a newer model.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I have a cordless dyson for 7 years. The battery crapped out halfway through but the batteries for powertools(which we have) also fits. So we use those. Now I dont know if the original battery is shit or not because I dropped the vacuum mulitple times so that might be my fault. But hey after dropping it so many times, it still works!!
r/VacuumCleaners • DO NOT BUY A DYSON (I wish someone had told me this) ->I love my Dyson. Works well, I’ve had it for 4 years and have done zero maintenance to it. Sleek and easy to use. Mine is cordless and I find I use it more often because it’s easy to just whip out and then put it away. Is it the most powerful vacuum? Probably not, but I don’t need that. I have a cleaning service that comes by biweekly. I’m more about convenience and spot cleaning when needed. They have sales often so definitely keep checking for one so you don’t have to pay full price.
