Recently learnt this.. had a DC44 sitting in the garage for a few years due to failed battery. Replaced (and upgraded) the battery and cleaned the motorised head - works like new
yeah i've had a look at the sebo and its just a bit more than i'm willing to spend. there is a sale on the sebo website for a green e3 for £449.52 so it is something. i've seen the miele c3 for £250 or the dog edition for £300 we had a henry but its gone kaput. we've got a dyson dc44 which we used for small spills but need something permanent. we've just had new carpets put in all through the house so the henry never really got used on the new carpets.
I’ve got a Dyson that I bought in like 2012. Maybe earlier. I do virtually no maintenance because I’m lazy. It’s still trucking along, no problem. Edited to add: it’s lived through my long hair, my sister’s long hair, and a Great Pyrenees.
I love the Dyson animal cordless. It’s been an awesome little one. We got it on sale at Costco so we could take it back easily. I’d pay full price.
Cordless vacs are a real convenience, and a real compromise. Barely there power. - A Kenmore cordless stick vac was immediately returned, as completely useless. - A Shark here is barely adequate, with a pipe that broke in less than three months, and required replacement. - A Dyson Animal ran for a couple of years, but the very expensive batteries failed within several months. If you’re accustomed to corded uprights, you’ll be shocked at how much worse cordless vacs are. I use a cordless vac daily, because I really like the convenience and I’m not fussy. but it’s necessary to keep the upright on call. Definitely not up to heavy duty. Maybe okay if you have hard floors or very short carpet, and your mother-in-law doesn’t judge.
^^ This. It makes vacuuming so much easier and doesn't feel like a chore anymore. It's so simple to maneuver (actually quite cool how it swivels), quiet, empties quickly, and does an excellent job picking up dirt and hair. Well worth the money. And not having to deal with a cord to plug and unplug when going from room to room is heaven. We have the animal version. Another point to mention: it comes with a wall mount charge station, which was something I didn't want on display in my house. (We don't have any wall where it could be hidden). Don't let that dissuade you if you feel the same way. This mount is not mandatory for charging, and you DON'T have to use this. The Dyson charges with a supplied wall outlet cord, so you can just stand the vacuum in a corner to charge it, then put it back in the closet when it's fully charged.
I’ve had a cordless Dyson Animal for 6 years. I have 2 huskies and vacuum around 1000 sq foot of hardwood daily. The dogs aren’t typically in carpeted areas so I don’t vacuum them daily but they are still vacuumed regularly. I’ve also had smaller Shark vacuums (think like a dust buster) and it has been great also.
Dyson animal cordless great for the car and around the home. The only vac i have.
Our Dyson Animal cordless is still going strong and is about 10 years old. I replaced the original battery with a chinesium one off Amazon a year or two ago.
Same. Both of the Sharks (full sized and cordless) I had crapped out just after the 2 year warranty. For the cordless one, I splurged and got the Dyson handheld animal, which I've for 9 year now. I had to finally replace the battery on it last year. I have dogs that shed like it's their purpose on earth, and a long-haired cat. All of the parts for my particular model are available to buy to replace on the Dyson website, so at some point I might replace the cyclone, but not because it doesn't work well. After 9 years, even taking it apart to deep clean periodically, it still smells like dog, lol.
