"But I got 900 miles out of one pair of Lone Peaks on the PCT, and 750 from another pair."
"I had issue with Klymit losing air in cold temps and Tensor has been awesome."

"They always miss the entire point of a dyson, which is completely convenience. ... I don't want to lug around a bagged vacuum, I don't want to have to plug it in, dyson retains the build & performance but makes it cordless and quiet."
"I love how light this thing Is you can flick it to next week! ... it's only 59g, so it's super light ... at first it was weird and I didn't lime it but it soon swooned me and I can't even use another mouse they're too heavy haha."
"after shifting to deathadder 59g feel much better."

"I live in a 2700 square foot cookie-cutter tract house. First floor is laminate with an office that has carpet. Then there’s the stairs which leads to 5 carpeted bedrooms, two tile bathrooms, a laundry room, and a walk-in carpeted closet. I can get all of that done one charge."
"being cordless and effective for what I need. ... For some the tradeoff for cordless, no bags, good suction, etal means we vacuum more than we otherwise would. ... I never would have thought I'd defend a near $1,000 cordless vacuum but I got one as a gift and will never buy anything different now."
"One thing I really love is how it came with two batteries. ... Never have I ran out of a charge."

"Does fantastic with dog hair."
"it's designed so well, it's a joy to vacuum 2x daily (concrete floors/live at the beach with a long-haired GSD, I vacuum constantly)."
"it's a dream/works so well. ... I am shocked (kinda disgusted at times!) at how much it picks up."

"The first one lasted five years, which was good enough for me, considering the price & the intense use. ... Two dogs (one a husky), two cats, and my thick, long hair. I vacuum daily, hardwoods and carpet."
"I’ve had a Dyson absolute V8 for 10 years replaced battery once.. Still goes strong."

"I have KEF Q150 with a 150 euro amp. They sound drastically better than a Sonos Move 2. They're different products but for the same price you have way better sound, it's not even close."
"costing $1000-$1200, respectively ... can't, in good faith, recommend a high-end Garmin to anyone who isn't rich"
"Addressing the Move, it’s a nice speaker and overpriced for what it does. ... I feel $250-300 is really what it should cost. ... If I reviewed it, it would get hammered on its value."

"The dust bin broke 3 times. ... The wand broke 3 times. ... The red clip button broke 4 times. ... The battery broke once."
"I had the stick and the ball versions and both barely lasted a year"
"The Dyson battery was internal so you can't swap out a battery if it dies on you."

"99% of first gen and second gen eventually become faulty after 1 year. ... I had 4 Mila, they all died the same way, replacement had the same fate, I gave up and threw all 4 of them away."
"I went through 11 or 12 Milas (originally bought 5) that all had bearings issues or capacitor failures."
"Cheap parts"
I’ve had 2 Dyson stick vacs break and honestly the manufacturing seems to get cheaper not better. Just switched to shark and happy so far but when you’re in the $400 range you are buying a short term vacuum anyhow.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->Yes. I use my cordless Dyson daily for small messes and use it as my main vacuum. It’s so convenient. I love it. I also got it on sale at Costco.
r/homemaking • Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house ->Yes, being cordless and effective for what I need. They have HEPA filters, at least mine does. The no bag is a feature for some of us not a defect. It's all a tradeoff. For some the tradeoff for cordless, no bags, good suction, etal means we vacuum more than we otherwise would. I dont make a mess emptying it vs making a mess swapping bags - cause I overfill it. That's a me thing but it's a consistent me thing and I dont have to worry about it with the Dyson. I never would have thought I'd defend a near $1,000 cordless vacuum but I got one as a gift and will never buy anything different now.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Same - Though Reddit seems to hate them. We got a Shark as a gift, lasted 1 year. They replaced it for free. Lasted about 2 years. We’ve had the same Dyson stick over 10 years with no issues. A charge doesn’t last long as long as it used to, but suction is still excellent. I can save you the trouble, Reddit will recommend you buy a $1300 corded Miele/Sebu. If God forbid you must have a cordless, $1000 Miele or $200 shark. I just don’t think it’s worth it for something where the bar is “does it get my floors clean?”. It reminds of certain hobbies like Mountain Biking where anything other than enthusiast-level ($$$$) is ‘junk’. Okay but I had fun riding my ‘junk’ the last decade while saving 8K. PC gaming, too - nobody has enjoyed a game with 12GB of VRAM, apparently.
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->Don’t know how often you’d use or charge yours but after having to replace the battery on my Dyson twice when it died the third time I got a black and decker instead - swappable battery means there’s no wait for recharge an I don’t need a place to plug it in - I also had a ton of the batteries for other tools already. Oh, and it works great for a cordless stick, as well as the Dyson did an we use it on floors and rugs (still use an upright on the thick pile rugs weekly but it does the job for a quick tidy on them)
r/Cleaningandtidying • Stay-at-home mom here: which cordless vacuum is actually worth it? ->I have the rechargeable #2 on the list Dyson stick and I LOVE IT! If you have carpeted stairs, it’s no challenge dealing with those. I live in a 2700 square foot cookie-cutter tract house. First floor is laminate with an office that has carpet. Then there’s the stairs which leads to 5 carpeted bedrooms, two tile bathrooms, a laundry room, and a walk-in carpeted closet. I can get all of that done one charge.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I have one of the cordless animal dysons… it fills up insanely fast and I have to empty countless times when I vacuum, but I keep up with cleaning all parts and pieces and haven’t had any issues!
r/husky • Best vacuum for husky owners? ->> Dyson make the best cordless vacuums. Good one! As a Dyson owner I wish I'd got a Shark or Miele. Dysons are average at best.
r/newzealand • Briscoes sale - vacuum cleaner recommendations please!! ->Miele are great pieces of kit all round. The Karcher WD2 is an inexpensive vacuum that does a great job without trying to be clever. We also have a Lidl wet and dry for 40 euro for back up. Cordless, a good Dyson model with pet hair attachment. Just handy to have around for quick jobs. But even with the few quick jobs it needs regular filter cleaning and are quite expensive as a 'quick job' handy tool.
r/AskIreland • What vacuum cleaners do people recommend? ->Reiterating what some have said…Dyson. Our house is full of hair with three large dogs including a St. Bernard…wish I had gotten it sooner. We bought ours on eBay as certified refurbished and it came with an Allstate warranty that we have used and was pretty simply. I believe we bought it close to Black Friday a few years back so I’d start looking.
