I bought the digital slim from target. It came with one brush roller head which Dyson said will scratch hardwood floors. My floors were just redone so I need a soft roller. I called Dyson 5x and each time got different and mostly incorrect info. They told me they had a soft roller attachment for floors. Then the $100+ attachment they said would work they said would NOT fit my model. I love the vacuum- it’s light and goes for an hour+ without recharging. I took a chance and before returning it, I ordered a soft roller head from Amazon that did not say it worked with the digital slim model - but it looked like it might work. It worked!!! It even has a light so you can see the dust on the floor. Dyson customer service and communication sucks, but I am happy with the product and the $34 soft roller head for wood floors that I bought online

I got one and did a deep dive into it after It’s a Costco specific model that builds on their smaller “lite” version of a vacuum and also comes with a wet floor cleaner head The vacuum works pretty good but it’s such a small dust bin

I use my Dyson on eco mode for the washable rugs and it works! I can't use it on auto/regular or heavy mode or it sucks them up.

We have a German Shepherd Collie mix, and he sheds so much! We also had a white cat that shed a lot of visible hair. The hair becomes tumbleweeds on the floor. We purchased a robot vacuum that runs once a day, and we also have a Dyson with a special, fluffy brush designed to pick up pet hair. It's amazing! We also have a big lint roller brush that is not the plastic one, it's like velcro and picks up any fur on you or furniture. The dog sleeps on the bed with us, so I lint roll it once a day! If you have carpets, get a soapy bucket and rubber gloves and scrape the glove over the carpets or use a brush, it's amazing for getting rid of a lot of inbedded hair. Try that at least once a month. I hope this all helps you x

I have a Dyson Fluffy, which was designed for hard surface cleaning. It takes up very little room for storage and came with several attachments to choose from. Two of those are powered roller brush heads, one that is wider for floors and one that is only about 4 inches wide, which would work well for you on the outer perimeter of your area rugs. You can use the stick while standing up and vacuuming, or remove the stick and attach the head directly to the vacuum for a handheld doing those stairs, the interior of your car, etc.

Used a Miele for years and was very happy with it. Then for some unknown reason, I switched to Shark. It was OK if I used a dustmop first on the hardwood floors. There was some kind of robot machine here for a while.....Then switched to cordless Dyson Submarine - what a piece of junk! Am now very happy with my new Miele - advertised as the one for dog hair. I Love this machine! House feels less dusty. And I WILL NEVER USE A BAGLESS MACHINE AGAIN! WHAT A FILTHY MESS!

If you go for a Dyson or a Shark with the pet hair attachment, it’ll work very well. I also use a robot vacuum that I run when I leave the house, and that alone has cut down on cat hair and dust soooooo much. I got both on Amazon for half price as lightning deals and have been delighted.
