Dyson - V11 Animal

I’ve had 2 Dyson stick vacs break and honestly the manufacturing seems to get cheaper not better. Just switched to shark and happy so far but when you’re in the $400 range you are buying a short term vacuum anyhow.

Same - Though Reddit seems to hate them. We got a Shark as a gift, lasted 1 year. They replaced it for free. Lasted about 2 years. We’ve had the same Dyson stick over 10 years with no issues. A charge doesn’t last long as long as it used to, but suction is still excellent. I can save you the trouble, Reddit will recommend you buy a $1300 corded Miele/Sebu. If God forbid you must have a cordless, $1000 Miele or $200 shark. I just don’t think it’s worth it for something where the bar is “does it get my floors clean?”. It reminds of certain hobbies like Mountain Biking where anything other than enthusiast-level ($$$$) is ‘junk’. Okay but I had fun riding my ‘junk’ the last decade while saving 8K. PC gaming, too - nobody has enjoyed a game with 12GB of VRAM, apparently.

I like mine a lot, but the biggest thing that bothers me is the battery. It doesn’t last quite long enough to vacuum my living room, kitchen, and back room. And it takes like 5 hours to charge. So vacuuming takes planning and I can’t get it all done at once anymore. My next vacuum will be a ryobi cordless.

With the dyson stick cordless, the battery can be replaced. We did so on ours after 8ish years and it is like new.

When our battery started to go I had no idea it could be replaced. Needless to say I was very excited, lol

My husband ordered and exchanged it. I dont recall it being a pain in the ass. There seems to be 2 screws.

I have the rechargeable #2 on the list Dyson stick and I LOVE IT! If you have carpeted stairs, it’s no challenge dealing with those. I live in a 2700 square foot cookie-cutter tract house. First floor is laminate with an office that has carpet. Then there’s the stairs which leads to 5 carpeted bedrooms, two tile bathrooms, a laundry room, and a walk-in carpeted closet. I can get all of that done one charge.

We purchased a “renewed” Dyson Animal vacuum. It’s very powerful and works amazing on our hardwood, rugs, and carpet. It has a narrower brush area so suction is increased. When vacuuming our area rugs on the lowest brush setting, the suction makes it hard to move the vacuum, it’s that strong. It’s probably the best vacuum I’ve ever used.

Mine is definitely over 5 years at this point and the only issue is some battery degradation on max power mode. Ive used it almost daily this whole time.

Miele are great pieces of kit all round. The Karcher WD2 is an inexpensive vacuum that does a great job without trying to be clever. We also have a Lidl wet and dry for 40 euro for back up. Cordless, a good Dyson model with pet hair attachment. Just handy to have around for quick jobs. But even with the few quick jobs it needs regular filter cleaning and are quite expensive as a 'quick job' handy tool.

Ich hab mir nen Defekten Dyson V11 für 90€ geschossen und dann nochmal ca. 100€ für die Reparatur hingeblättert (Motor war Defekt aber es war nur die Komplette Griffeinheit erhältlich anstatt nur der Motor). Das Ding kam mit mega viele extras (Vorbesitzer hatte diese Animal Version oder wie die heißt). Bin ein absoluter Fan von der Saugleistung, vor allem den angetriebenen Bürsten am Saugkopf. Der Dyson wird primär verwendet um unser Sofa etc. zu reinigen, der Boden wird vom Roboterstaubsauger (Roborock S5 max) gesaugt. TL;DR: Ich bin mit der Dyson Qualität super zufrieden bisher, würde mir aber im Leben keinen neuen Kaufen bei den unverschämten Preisen.

Dyson pet version. Wasn’t cheap but good quality and does great easy to clean.
