I’d suggest nothing other than Dyson or Miele, for every reason you could possibly imagine, but unfortunately those would both exceed budget. They both last, have incredible and long lasting cordless power which is convenient, best airtight sealed HEPA filtration, good cleaning performance, brilliant on all floor types and is able to detect the difference and alter power, and Dyson is especially good with hair of all manner, got 3 cats and 3 long haired people and not ever a single one around one of my Dyson tools.
From Miele, Triflex HX2 Cat & Dog, or the Triflex HX2 Pro. They have around 60 minutes battery life, automatic flooring detection so it adapts to your hard floor in terms of brush bar power, the Pro comes with two batteries which is probably a bit overkill for a small flat, whereas the pet comes with a motorised brush bar pet tool, which the pet tool I can’t say wether it’s good or not because I don’t have that. I just know Miele do some very good quality and long lasting vacuums that everyone raves about. From Dyson, considering you’re in a small flat, you’d probably be best with the V12 Detect™ Slim, it has a smaller dust bin but would be fine in a smaller space, it also has 60 minutes run time, adaptive cleaning which changes suction according to how dirty an area is, the green light is brilliant and so much better than just a white headlight (as gimmicky as it sounds) it really does light up the dust, and the pet-like tool (it’s called the hair screw) has not once had hair around it on mine (and we have 2 long haired people and 3 cats), it’s always hair free because it’s cone like design the hair works its way down the cone and gets sucked up, I love the hair screw tool. And also I wouldn’t worry about changing from corded to cordless despite what people say, it’s the difference between a good and a bad one, the bad ones only last about 20 minutes, my Dyson boasts 60 but I can get a good 90 mins out of it, and if you’re in a small space then it will be ample anyways, I live in a 3 bed rather large flat with hard floor and carpet (and the carpet uses more power for suction and brush bar speed) but I can get everywhere done and still have battery left.
I second this. I have the V12 Slim Detect and it does a good job. But the bin is small so I have to stop and empty it out frequently when cleaning.
The Dyson V12 detect slim is amazing. It also feels like a toy in a fun way but still effective.
You can get older dyson vacuums like the v6 or v12 animal for relatively cheap and simply replace the battery for a really solid and easy to use vacuum. Pro tip: swap out the battery for an adapter so you can use it with milwaukee or dewalt batteries so it lasts hours instead of minutes.
I think the best option for you would be [this](https://www.amazon.com/Detect-Absolute-Cordless-Handheld-Cleaner/dp/B0B76XZZDT?crid=2I2RB5SI8ENJE&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.3__wKnwE2l6J7uroCRCNkA4AKMse_9Jd7IinLJycmDafAf_XI8dc6FXstGKdpxwTsFjms1eaV8JLzbV6F1VFScSHcTZ4J_UhqvSDSmoIflxx6VAu8vK4TjsfmCOTagBuy1Yls593kN1EvFN1v5j3V3ysRKhQNb4medQ_9fAP2ppGrhWKCza-cAzYjU_QhWSnx2O3QG9tQYLLsQuJQjazg3uBdHXwaMztX8JNHFu6YW4.DvPiZID56tHYlDi_hjfo1JJ59fv1NVzaJ8cdkE53mx8&dib_tag=se&keywords=Dyson+V12+Detect+Slim&qid=1770627917&sprefix=%2Caps%2C437&sr=8-1&linkCode=ll2&tag=grok43-20&linkId=324d38c2009b3d85a7827da3b03acb95&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl) from dyson. I think overall it is a very good option to go for. I think it will work pretty good for you. I would highly recommend it.The laser will make your cleaning sessions more effective because you'll *see* what you're picking up. Just be prepared to empty the bin after each session.
I'm biased toward Dyson because I'm the satisfied owner of a Dyson V12. My V12 is powerful, light weight and easy to maneuver. The battery and filters are easily replaceable. I would recommend either the V12 or something with a larger bin, such as the V11.
Personally, I'm only interested in the less expensive ones. I have a V12 Detect Slim that I got for $400. I don't rely on this vacuum cleaner. I just use it for quick pickups, cleaning upholstery, getting into corners, etc. I take care of the Dyson and use it gently. I clean it out, change filters religiously. So far, I've never had anything fail. But if something fails for any reason, I will simply replace the failing part -- OEM and third party spare parts are readily available on eBay and Amazon.
I think it's good to get a good bagged corded canister or upright for regular cleaning (primary) and a stick vacuum for quick pickups, above floor cleaning, getting under furniture (secondary). I have a Dyson V12 Detect Slim that I use as a secondary to my Sebo and Lindhaus uprights and am happy with this combination. I think that most of the inexpensive Dysons are fine, including the V8, as secondaries. I think that some of the inexpensive Bissells are good too, for example the PowerClean FurGuard or FurFinder. Shark also makes some good inexpensive sticks.
I would suggest a bagged corded canister vacuum with a powered head for regular cleaning -- these are best for carpets. And for quick pickups between regular cleaning, I would suggest lightweight cordless stick vacuum. I think Miele and Sebo make the best canister vacuums. The Miele Classic C1 Cat & Dog PowerLine is powerful, has good filtration and a very good head, and is has a compact footprint. For a stick, I would recommend one of the lower priced Dysons. I have a Dyson V12 Detect Slim -- very light weight, lots of attachments, good battery life.
I have a Dyson V12 Detect Slim that I use for spot cleaning, upholstery, etc. I got it for about $400. I prefer it over the V10 because it has an on/off switch, not a trigger, and because it weighs less. Also, the V10 has a fixed battery and the V12 has an easily replaceable battery. The V10 has a larger bin, however. Both are excellent machines though.
I have a Dyson V12 Detect Slim for quick pickups -- I use it every day, sometimes several times per day. I use my Lindhaus Valzer L-Ion cordless bagged upright when I want to clean a large area.
I have a Dyson V12 Detect Slim. Very light weight, powerful and easy to use. Works great on carpet with the included Motorhead. Works well on stairs if you use it without the wand. Super easy to maneuver. This machine does require that the filter be washed frequently in order to maintain performance, but the machine itself tells you when to clean the filter and it's easy to do. I paid about $400 for mine, and it came with lots of useful accessories -- wand, crevice tool, fluffy head for hard floors, mini motorized brush for upholstery.
Lots of hate for Dyson here, but I (and many other people) have had very good luck with Dyson stick vacuum cleaners. I really like my Dyson V12 -- very light weight (motor and handle assembly is about 3.5 lbs), easy to use, quiet, effective attachments. The fluffy head, for cleaning hard floors, does have a light on it. For those concerned about longetivity, it's very easy and cost effective to find attachments and replacement parts, both Dyson OEM and third party, for Dyson cleaners on amazon and eBay. I have purchased third party batteries, a battery charger, a dusting brush, a hose, filters, clear plastic bin for very little money. I have even purchased a spare motor unit. Nothing has ever failed, but I know that if for any reason it does, I have a spare part on hand. There is also a lot of hate for Bissell, but I know people who like their Bissell cleaners. In fact, I gifted a Bissell PowerClean FurGuard 280W Self-Standing Cordless Vacuum to a friend a few months ago and she really likes it. This machine is light weight and does have a light on the motorized brush head. In my opinion (and I'm expecting to be contradicted), this is a good unit at a very good price. Good luck in your quest.
I have a Dyson V12 Detect, which I purchased for about $400. Very light weight, maneuverable, works well on carpet (has the powered motorbar head) and hard floors (motorized fluffy head). Parts, both Dyson OEM and third party, are readily available on eBay and amazon -- you can get batteries, chargers, filters, wands, attachments, hoses, canisters, wall mounts, and so on. The parts availability for Dyson is truly outstanding -- better than other brands. If you keep the bin and mesh clean and clean/change the filter regularly, it will last. Warning: Lots of hate for Dyson in general and this machine in particular. My unit has worked flawlessly.
I have a V12 Slim detect 3 years old. I’m looking for a new cord vacuum next. It’s just not doing the job on carpet that my old Shark used to do.
Hmmm beg to differ. I have a V12 Detect Slim and I don’t ever want to go back to using any other vacuum. The green light + the dust counter display just makes a boring task more fun to do, and it looks super slick!
