I own a Dyson v15 with the green laser - #2 on that list. (I have Tile floors). It is soooo good. Even compared to other top rated Dysons. Worth every penny.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Yea a lot of people hate on dysons but I’ve loved mine. Got a cheaper model but bought the laser head and it makes vacuuming so convenient and gross lol. I plan on replacing the battery when it dies out but that will be a problem on all stick vacuums
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I have the Dyson V15 detect and totally love it but it's not a bifl vacuum by any means. It's just the best of the available cordless vacuums. Bifl is more like a kirby imo. They're overbuilt and made to be worked on. I've worked on plenty of them and always really impressed at the quality of its build.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->V15 detect. Bought from Costco for their warranty and service. LOVE the vacuum! Vacuuming has become a fun pastime instead of a chore.
r/dyson • Best Dyson Stick Vacuum ->Got a refurbished detect from Amazon and it’s worked perfectly for the year I’ve had it 🤷♂️
r/dyson • Best Dyson Stick Vacuum ->I have the V15 Detect and it’s been great. The laser is a blessing and a curse. You will see every spec of dust or debris if you have tile floors. The problem is that if you have pets or live in a dusty area, not long after vacuuming you will see the new dust that has accumulated and you will question why you bother vacuuming so much lol. I switched to the regular non-laser head and it works great and the floors pass the “eye test” for being clean without the laser “sounding the alarm” for every new piece of dust and I’m less stressed this way lol.
r/Costco • Which Vacuum Cleaner to buy? ->We love the v15 detect. The green light and the 2 main heads work great for different flooring. Handheld attachments are solid too Just hoping it doesn’t die out like I’ve seen about with other Dysons
r/Costco • Which Vacuum Cleaner to buy? ->I have a Dyson V15 Detect. It is a great cordless, battery operated vacuum. The only issue with Dyson is that the quality is cheap. Cheap plastic parts everywhere. The dust bin broke 3 times. The wand broke 3 times. The red clip button broke 4 times. The battery broke once. I also had to order an extra battery and an extra filter because the battery runs out very fast and the filter needs an entire day or two to dry out after cleaning. I have 2 cats and 2 kids. 3 floors in the house. Mostly hardwood with a few rugs. The Dyson does a great job on hardwood floors. It does an okay job on carpets. For the price I paid, $700, it does not feel like a $700 machine. For $700 I expect good quality, and I expect it to not break like it does. This is what makes Dyson a bad brand. However, I have yet to come across a better cordless stick vacuum. If anyone knows a better one I’m ready to listen. Nobody can name a single better cordless stick vacuum than the Dyson.
r/VacuumCleaners • Suggest some of the best cordless DYSON vacuums ->I really like the v15 detect. The laser light feature with the hardwood floor roller is nice.
r/dyson • Which vacuum should I buy? ->I got the V15 at costco on a sale two years back. That green laser feature seemed like a gimmick but my Lord it makes me enjoy vacuuming so much more. being able to see all those layers of dust and then seeing them disappear is incredibly cathartic and that alone makes it worth it for me
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I gave up on Dyson after seeing damage to my less than 2 year old solid hickory wood floors. The fluffy head sits too close to the floors on the laser side. As it moves back and forth, it sometimes scrapes the beveled edges. Exchanged one V15 after that happened, thinking it was just that one that was defective. Second one ended up doing the same, and the canister seal broke after a month. Returned to Costco, never will buy another Dyson. Just bought a Sebo K3 which comes with a parquet floor brush which is gentle on hardwood floors.
r/VacuumCleaners • Best Vacuum for Hardwood Floors and Carpet ->I just returned a V15 because the seal in the canister broke after about a month. Also the laser fluffy brush sits so close to hardwood floors, and the laser side was scraping on some of my beveled edges of my hardwood floors which are less than 2 years old. I just bought a Sebo K3, which comes with the parquet brush for wood floors.
r/VacuumCleaners • what is best vacuum for rugs and wood floors? ->I have to agree with this. Returned my V15 because the fluffy brush was not gentle on my less than 2 year old solid hickory wood floors. Bought a Sebo which is gentle on my wood floors as it comes with a nice parquet floor brush.
r/dyson • Best Dyson Stick Vacuum ->I'll prob get downvoted for this bc dyson but woot is currently selling the v15 detect factory reconditioned for $350. I bought this same deal about a year ago and it's been really great. It was basically brand new and is the best vacuum I've ever owned. r/VacuumCleaners • Vacuum cleaner recommendations ->I own two Dysons and a Miele C3. I've had the Dyson Ball for about 12 years. I hated emptying the thing because of all the dust, etc, forcing me to always take it to the outside trashcan, which cut down on vacuuming in the winter and in the rain. Based on many, many recommendations I got the Miele and the powerhead jammed with pet hair within the first few minutes. "Not a problem, I'll just pull the roller and cut the hair off", I thought. The damn thing is not designed to be serviced except by a repairman. Seriously, even for hair wound up on the roller bar. After spending a couple of hours taking apart and putting it back together, I 3D printed an adapter to accommodate my Dyson tangle free turbine, which handles pet hair with practically no issues. That is a pretty good combination, to be honest, but that Dyson head is only about 4 inches wide, resulting in a lot of push/pull over the carpet. Plenty of suction from the Miele which, other than the servicing issue, I think is a good vacuum, but seriously over-priced--just like most Dysons. But after 5 years of the Miele-Dyson combo, I researched to see if the was anything new to tackle pet hair and found Dyson had improved things while Miele appears stuck. Enter the Dyson V15 Detect. I have not touched the Miele since I got the V15 a year ago. Good battery, good suction, handles pet hair way better than the old tangle-free turbine head and I can pull the roller bar, clear the wound up hair and be vacuuming again in less than 5 minutes. I still have the Miele and I should probably do a test with a clean bag and see how much of anything the V15 is missing (since the V15 will get all the pet hair). There are definite advantages to being corded and using bags, but those same things are also negatives in many circumstances. With the V15, I am less reluctant to vacuum and tackle patches of pet hair with vigor. With the Miele, I am pretty confident it is removing plenty of fine dust with the HEPA filtering and changing a bag is cleaner than emptying the V15 (which is far better than the old Dyson ball canister). I like my V15 for now. I'd love to see something better for pet hair from ANYBODY in the next 5 years, but especially from the robo-vacuum folks.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Dyson v15 detect! The laser helps a ton with seeing all of the hairs
r/goldenretrievers • Any recommendations on good Vacuums pretty please ->My V15 Detect died after a year and they've had my dead vacuum for over a month now. Customer support is a joke. French rep literally told me the service in English sucked and that's why they couldn't figure what's going on.
r/dyson • Best Dyson Stick Vacuum ->Anyone without the detect feature. My v15 detect has been nothing but problems. A lot of people would agree.
r/dyson • Best Dyson Stick Vacuum ->Mine was about a year and 2 months before it broke. I hope yours doesn't experience the same issue 🙏
r/dyson • Best Dyson Stick Vacuum ->I was having an issue where I would start the vacuum and it would cut power. Repress the trigger it would run for another few seconds then cut power. I spoke with support and the first time they sent a new battery. It made the problem even worse. Second time they said the body was defective and sent a replacement. Apparently it's a real common issue with the detect models as I discovered after the fact. Something to do with the detect sensor crapping out.
r/dyson • Best Dyson Stick Vacuum ->Dyson v15 Detect is superb for Labrador hardwood floors.
r/labrador • Lab owners, what’s your favorite vacuum? Ours went out and we need a new one that’s great for dog hair ->I resisted Dyson for years cuz they r so expensive and I don’t have time to vacuum everyday. I have roomba s9, but it just can’t handle pet hair on carpets. I was getting so frustrated. Finally I got Dyson v15 detect. What a crazy difference. I mean daaumn. I don’t mind vacuuming now at all. It’s sooooo crazy satisfying. Air quality is so much better now too. Nothing compares
r/labrador • Lab owners, what’s your favorite vacuum? Ours went out and we need a new one that’s great for dog hair ->We have a Dyson v15 detect and it’s awesome. But we have 2 kids and a hairy dog. If your house gets less dirty a lower model is adequate. Good thing about Costco is if it breaks or you don’t like it just return it. Easy.
r/Costco • Which Vacuum Cleaner to buy? ->That’s just not true. I had a V6 whose battery lasted for over six years. I finally bought a new V15 detect because my V6 got so incredibly gross. But it was still running just fine.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Do you have a mix of carpet and hard floors? If so, don’t get a Dyson unless you enjoy changing the heads for each surface. Otherwise, the regular brush will shoot out anything like pet food or cereal that you try to vacuum on a hard floor. Love Shark for their heads that have both a bristle for carpets and felt for hard floors on the same piece. Not sure if they’re vegan, though!
r/vegan • Looking for a vacuum cleaner ->Gen5Detect but the soft roller really makes it a stick clean so much better. Relying on suction alone isn’t ideal since they don’t have as much as stronger corded vacs.
r/VacuumCleaners • What is the best cordless stick vacuum on the market without a roller bar or comes with roller bar on/off option? ->Any cordless Dyson with the green laser on the front
r/husky • What vacuum do you use? ->I'm not sure it is BIFL, but I got a good deal on a Dyson v15 which comes with a bunch of attachments, one of which is specifically designed for picking up hair and works great on the couch. It also has a hardwood floor attachment also has a green light to show particles which I thought was a gimmick, but it turns vacuuming into a game like Mario Sunshine and I love it.
r/BuyItForLife • Best vacuum for pet hair on furniture? ->I LOVE our Dyson V15, however, I definitely don't think it is 'buy it for life.' I don't see it being a durable piece of equipment and lasting many years. Pieces of it have come flying off apparently with no way to fix (cosmetic things, thankfully). However, it is amazing.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I know this topic comes up often and it's always said that a cordless vacuum isn't BIFL. But damn if the Dyson V15 isn't life changing for me. I actually *like* vacuuming now. Lugging the cannister and cord around of my old vacuum room to room was such a chore. It's just so much easier and I like their little gimmick of showing how much dirt it's captured. Bought mine refurbished for a nice price and had it for around 1.5 years now. Granted I've never tried a Miele before, but I only have hardwood floors and a few spot rugs so I don't think I'd never the extra power or whatever else advantages it brings. Especially at the expense of lugging the cannister around with me.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->That Lazer thing it has seems so gimmicky but it's an absolute life changer.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->We have: Roomba - Used 2/3 times a week between cleaner being here. Only does downstairs. Had this for many years, would definitely replace it when it breaks, maybe with one that mops and empties itself. Dyson V15 cordless - wall mounted for easy jobs and quick zip around. It has the green laser so it makes it easy to see where to clean. It's really good, buttttt....It doesn't last super long though, and I'm not impressed by the battery. Used by us and our cleaner. If it broke I would probably buy a replacement. Dyson Animal corded - Super powerful, but a bit cumbersome. Mostly used by our cleaner. Has this for nearly a decade I think. Very good investment. If it broke I might not replace and leverage the other two.
r/HENRYUKLifestyle • Vacuum cleaner recommendations ->Lot's of strong opinions on Dyson in here... I've had my v15 for a year and have been using it with our Newf for 8 months. 4 of those months were on apartment carpet and the other 4 have been on hardwood. I have zero complaints about mine so far. I empty it frequently and wash the filter. I haven't noticed a lack of suction or anything else... it's been one of the best purchases I've made even at $700 (that initial purchase had me rethinking my sanity) and the vacuum we used prior was a $125 Shark Navigator which I didn't enjoy using. The Dyson was night/day to the Shark (I'd hope so at 5x the cost) but so far, I'm pleased. Dyson sells replacement parts, so I'm not too concerned with repairing if necessary. Battery has been good, I just don't use the MAX setting and keep it to Auto or Eco. Batteries are expensive to replace, but eh, it's the cost of the performance. If people lose suction, I'd first recommend trying a new battery as if it spits out a lower voltage (batteries fail over time), that could explain it.
r/Newfoundlander • Best vacuum for Newfoundland hair? ->I got a v15 detect for $500 at costco. Insanely good vaccuum so far. It has a replaceable battery which should come in handy as Ive seen the batteries go bad with older dysons.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I have a Dyson stick vacuum (had v15, long story but gave it to my mum, now have last year’s gen5 detect because it was cheaper than this year’s v15). Did see reviews from some that a stick vacuum isn’t strong enough, but I’ve had no problems and I like the convenience of a stick vacuum. Previously had used a Sebo canister vacuum (unsure of model, middle to higher end) that worked well. This question did get asked recently and a few people mentioned Roombas or similar. I think in general it just needs to be a slightly higher end vacuum to handle the fur (and long haired humans, myself included). If your kitty doesn’t like brushes just be persistent and bribe them with something they like (treats etc), or brush them when they’re asleep to start. My boy hated it for his first three years - I’d brush him once and he’d run away, complaining. He’s five now and will roll over for his belly to be brushed, and gets asked for brushes (and treats) daily. (A trip to the groomer, which he hated more than me brushing him, probably helped lol).
r/ragdolls • Vacuum recommendations? ->some areas of WDW resort custodial use the Dyson V15's and I gotta be honest, theyre the only ones that have lasted months instead of mere days like other brands. They are worked HAAAARD and they still work great. Every other brand thats been put in our hands has broken in a few days or couple of weeks, so the company splurged for the good ones and they have probably already paid for themselves.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I've had the v11 and v15. They are pretty similar. The v15 has slightly more suction. Anything from the v11 up will keep you happy. For me the main advantage is once you wall mount the dock in a central location for the house, (in my case it is in the hall linen cupboard) it just comes down to the convenience. You see dirt on the floor, you grab the vacuum and clean it up in real time. When I had a larger corded vacuum the barrier to cleaning was the effort to get it out and plugged in. The advantage of the Dyson over other cordless vacuums is the quality of the cleaning. Both the carpet and hard floor heads get right up against the skirting boards and remove everything. Another nicety is that there is a massive ecosystem of cheep spare parts and extra adapters. I mounted an attachment dock on the wall to hold all the extra heads etc (keeps things neat). The only real downside is the initial price. I agree that they are overpriced but I have so many friends that have got Dyson's and none of them regret their decision. The trick is work out what models you would like and then wait for one of them to come on sale. I just upgraded to a v15 with the mop attachment (fully backwards compatible with all my v11 attachments) and picked it up on sale down from **€**890 to **€**550. They seem to do major discounts fairly regularly (at leat in Australia).
r/dyson • Which vacuum should I buy? ->I think most people buying vacuums aren’t treating or looking at them as BIFL. Vacuum techs are going to crap on anything difficult to repair/maintain while your average consumer is only going to see the end result. I’ve owned a Hoover upright, shark upright, Dyson upright, and now 2 different Dyson sticks including the v15. I would never buy a canister vacuum due to what I deem as an inconvenience in pulling it around everywhere. When we owned a house with majority carpet the Dyson and Shark uprights were great. We have dogs and their brush roll was incredible at picking up pet hair. Our current house is primarily hardwoods and we still have dogs. The V15 is amazing, super light, and convenient. And despite how gimmicky the green light thing may look it really does work amazingly well for hardwoods with pet hair. It does ok on carpet and rugs but the old canisters feel like they would for sure outperform it. I don’t really expect a lifetime out of my vacuum especially if I’m buying a $150 Shark. If I get several years I’m pretty happy as the repair bill is near the cost of the Vacuum - it’s almost like the printers whose ink refills was more expensive than a new printer.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Cordless with enough power to actually clean and capacity to finish a job are a big deal. Beyond that, everything else is a very distant second. I'll say the v15 is a beast. And I'll never go back to a corded vacuum after having one.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->For my use with only hard floors,a small space and tons of heavy spot cleaning, having cordless mobility isn't optional. And I find it does a better job than the Dyson ball I used to have. Like most things the 'best' choice is extremely dependent on the specifics of use. There's no circumstance where a corded vacuum would ever be in consideration for me, so while I'm sure Miele makes excellent vacuums, they'll never work for me. That said, I only got it because it was on sale and at Costco. The full price is eye watering and a bit demented.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I mean the v15 is actually good. I had a animal at one point and that thing was crap
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Totally agree the v15 makes life with a golden that much better!
r/goldenretrievers • Any recommendations on good Vacuums pretty please ->Dyson v15 works fantastic, got the green light on hard floor head, so I vac in the dark and see all hair and dirt. Carpet head works a treat, Power head is great for stairs and the car. Only downside is being cordless has limited run time so I alternate days I vacuum up and down stairs or give a few hours to charge up It replaced my previous Dyson v7 wich worked great when i bought my house, shortly after getting my heeler it just couldn't cope. lol
r/blueheelers • Vacuum Recommendations!! ->its a bit ridiculous but I have the Dyson v15 and I love it. I bought it because of their pet brush technology, mainly, I have very long hair and have destroyed a lot of vacuums with the tangling (iykyk). maybe there are dupes, but i really don't regret it and use it almost every day.
r/Apartmentliving • What cordless vacuum cleaners have y'all had good luck with? ->I own Dyson V15 and I don’t understand how people who have it hype about it. The only way to describe it is that it’s a toy vacuum cleaner not unlike the ones kids play house with. It has no suction power unless you go into turbo mode, which is still average at best, but then the time you can use it goes down to 5 mins or less.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I *love* my Dyson v15. It's lightweight, easy to maneuver, has pretty great suction, and for hardwood floors, there's a green light that illuminates any dirt/hair in its path, which is actually surprisingly useful and satisfying. The unexpected bonus is that this is the first vacuum my pup (2 y.o. golden) hasn't attacked. For some reason, the green light on the hardwood floor head seems to calm him. He can be jumping about, barking and being an overexcited adolescent, and as soon as the vacuum comes out and the green light turns on, he gets calm and follows me around, watching peacefully while I vacuum. I have no idea if the green light has the same effect on other pups, but I just thought I'd mention this curious unexpected effect. *Also, this is not a blanket endorsement of Dyson.* I had the v8 and it was lousy -- poor suction, and would only last for 6-7 mins.
r/goldenretrievers • Any recommendations on good Vacuums pretty please ->Just picked up a v15 and using it on hard wood and carpet. Was shocked by how much it picked up from the carpet.
r/dyson • What is the best vacuum for carpeted floors? ->I love my Dyson v15. I have a long haired cat and often I end up vacuuming after her twice a day. It’s just easier running around with a cordless, and it picks up so much hair. I had a v7 before this one and when I upgraded I vacuumed with the 7 and then the 15 just to see the difference. Couldn’t believe how much extra hair the 15 picked up. I did have an issue with the submarine head but they sent me a new one with no fuss.
r/newzealand • Briscoes sale - vacuum cleaner recommendations please!! ->I have the Dyson v15 and have had it about a year and a half and I still love it. 100% worth it in my opinion.
r/Costco • Which Vacuum Cleaner to buy? ->Funny. Have a Dyson V15 and hate that thing. Underpowered, always clogging. Got a cheap, lightweight plug-in Shark and love that thing. Handles everything and never complains. My only point being life rarely provides one right answer. Hope everyone finds their BIFL.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Shark cordless vacuum cleaners are not a type I would recommend. For the price, they have things about them that make them worse than a lot of the competition such as poor build quality and single cyclones. As for cordless, Dyson and LG, and sometimes Samsung, still make the leading mainstream ones in the United States. For Dyson, the V11 to current models are the best on carpet. The V8 is affordable, but lacks the run time and overall power to do a stellar job on carpet, at least in my opinion. Something such as the V15 smokes the heck out of a V8 and even a V10. Even the V12 is decent enough and good if you want something little and lightweight while still being powerful. For LG, the CordZero Kompressor models are the best for carpet because they are more powerful than the standard CordZero variants. The standard ones are fine too, I just prefer the Kompressor for primary use. It is more on par with the newer Dysons in performance and the compacting of the dirt inside the bin does help. The LG All-In-One is excellent, albeit very expensive. If you have money to spend, they are some of the best cordless and bagless things, though. Really cute design. Samsung sometimes has nice deals. I find their quality and support to be a little lower than LG and Dyson, but their units are designed fairly well. For power, to match the other brands, the Jet 75 and Jet 90 are their best deals. They also have the Bespoke Jet, which has some interesting features, but I am partial to the LG All-In-One direct competition. When choosing one, if possible, I recommend seeing them in person and holding them. Some stores such as Best Buy will let you do that. Certain models suit certain people better than others. For example, I love the Dyson Outsize, but some find them to be too heavy and bulky. You obviously want to like something in which you have invested a substantial amount of money.
r/VacuumCleaners • Which stick Vacuum cleaner to buy? ->Our Dyson V15 works great, haven't regretted the purchase at all. Super convenient to use, super easy to empty, saying that as someone with ADHD who absolutely despises cleaning. Battery life is great for our 2B2B home, can go over all the floors about twice after fully charging. We don't have pets, but my partner and I both have very long hair that gets everywhere and it's been great with that. Our home is half carpet and half engineered hardwood, so it's great it comes with different heads for different floorings. I have a love-hate relationship with the fluffy optic cleaner head that lights up dust, because on one hand it's so satisfying to see the dust and then see it get vacuumed up, but it also shows all the scratches on the floor left by construction lol.
r/vegan • Looking for a vacuum cleaner ->I swapped C3 with Dyson v15, apart from being portable, Dyson is definitely worse in every category.
r/dogs • Recommend me a vacum cleaner. (not robot vacum please) ->I know it's not even close to being on the list, but the LG CordZero A949 (with the charging/emptying base and power mop) is ffuuucking awesome. I ordered it and the Dyson v15 at the same time and returned the Dyson. Yes, the Dyson was better one-on-one if you only compare the suction and pure vacuuming power. But the adaptability and multi-functionality of something like the LG is just amazing for my house (1350 sqft house, usually end up using one of the two batteries for a quick clean).
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->My Dyson v15 was the best purchase I've ever made. I love that fucking bastard.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Dyson v15. Works extremely well, is very reliable, and the attachments make cleaning a variety of surfaces a breeze.
r/husky • What vacuum do you use? ->Dyson v15 works good for us since 3 years now, we like it since it’s wireless but we still got the pink Dyson animal pro of +10 years ago as back up.
r/bernesemountaindogs • Best Vacuum?! ->So far I really love my V15, but I'm more of a hardwood floor, living room rug and car interior cleaner. I've only ever had extremely shitty vacuums before this, though, so maybe my standards are low. But it gets my cat's fur right out of the rug and is very useful for nooks and crannies. Maybe the green light thing is a gimmick but it helps me spot crap on the floor I would not see otherwise. I believe I bought it in March of '22. So far no issues (knock on wood).
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->We have a Dyson V15 with a special head (??) for animal hair. Pros: cordless, fits nicely on a wall and is recharged, sucks fantastic, easy to clean, knock off filters work Cons: expensive, small reservoir, quite heavy
r/greatpyrenees • Best vacuum to purchase when you have a Great Pyr ->Dyson V15 n Eufy X8 Pro. I brush mine daily so the shedding through the day is not as much as it is without brushing.
r/husky • What vacuum do you use? ->I've had the Dyson V15 since th fall of 2021 and it's still going strong. Works as great as the day I got it.
r/Newfoundlander • Best vacuum for Newfoundland hair? ->Agreed! It’s the best and the fuzzy optic head is a game changer!!
r/goldenretrievers • Any recommendations on good Vacuums pretty please ->We've had Mieles, Dyson balls, and a Dyson V7 and animal. And I got to say the v15 does a noticeably much much better job of picking up fur and dust. Hesitated for a long time because of price, but really glad we have this now! 'edited for spelling Mila😅'
r/Newfoundlander • Best vacuum for Newfoundland hair? ->I have a Dyson V15 and love it. It's light enough for my 66-year-old worn-out self to handle. However, I have a small 1000sqft condo with wood flooring and some scattered rugs, so it's not as hard on the battery as all-over carpeting would be. Plus, I alternate vacuuming different rooms on different days of the week. I don't think I could do my whole place on just one charge. If I had a larger space, especially with all-over carpeting, I would not expect this Dyson to be able to handle it over the long haul. I bought it last year, so I guess I'll find out how long it will last. If it doesn't last, it'll be a Miele for me. For ease of use, I am completely sold on cordless stick vacuums.
r/internetparents • Internet Mom/Dad, what're the BEST vacuums overall? ->I have Miele C1 and Dyson V15. We use Miele when more suction is needed and Dyson for light duty tasks
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I never thought I would consider vacuuming an enjoyable process but the V15 made it possible.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Idk man. I read reviews and Reddit posts for weeks and noticed reddit has an extreme bias towards sebo and Miele canister vacuums. But I didn't really get it, as so many of these models don't even come with a power head for carpets unless you get the tip top model, they have similar suction as a quality stick that runs on battery (Dyson v15 for example), they have the same level of filtration as a stick with no need to purchase bags, and they're harder to use (at least in smaller homes like mine). Most of the time these vacuums don't come with a powered carpet cleaner head, or you need the premium hard floor head, and don't get me started on the 24 different variations of packs with differing attachments and pieces using coded names like the STB-305-3 (wtf man). Tell me why the fuck this has to exist: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/EhG-SIwgp6E/maxresdefault.jpg So I decided I would go with the Dyson v15 instead. Maybe it won't last 15 years like everyone claims these others do, but it has swappable batteries, and my last Dyson V8 has held up just fine from 5 years of abuse now so.. plus, the V15 is 200$ off for black Friday at 799 best buy.
r/homeowners • Best (cost/performance) vacuum cleaner? ->Also highly recommend the 15 for a stick vac. Much better specs than the 11 on this list. We love ours and use it daily with 2 large dogs. The front light is amazing for showing hair and dirt on hardwood.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->The chom chom roller is the best for couches. I never thought I’d be a Dyson person but I got the one with the laser hardwood floor attachment and pet hair couch attachment and it’s the greatest.
r/CleaningTips • Best Vacuum for Pets? ->Dyson Detect is crap. Worst $1k I’ve ever spent. Get a Miele if you want to actually CLEAN.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I have a Dyson stick vacuum and I love it
r/Apartmentliving • What cordless vacuum cleaners have y'all had good luck with? ->Whoever has those Dysons clearly doesn’t have multiple long-haired, double coated pets running around. I had the stick and the ball versions and both barely lasted a year
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I had a Dyson "stick" type vacuum. It didn't last nearly as long as the price tag suggested it should. The out of warranty repair cost was 75% of what a new one would cost so I chucked it. I replaced it with a **Hoover ONE PWR** at half the price of the Dyson. I've had it longer than I had the Dyson and it's still working great. It comes with 2 batteries so one lives on the charger, the other on the vacuum. Means I've always got a full charge. The Dyson battery was internal so you can't swap out a battery if it dies on you. I would avoid anything that's not a brand name. Before the Dyson there was a generic Amazon no-name special vacuum that I used once, packed it back up in the box, and sent it back. Absolute junk. Bad suction. Just bad all around. Some of them may be fine but I don't trust the Amazon reviews on the no-name ones. They have a "Fieety" brand stick vacuum for $159 with nearly 1000 reviews averaging 4.6 stars. Is it good? You'd think so. But I still wouldn't take a chance on it. Ironically, the vacuum I bought and have had nothing but good luck with has a very low rating on Amazon (only 3 reviews though), but it doesn't matter as it's no longer available since it's such an old model.
r/BuyItForLife • Can someone please recommend a good vacuum cleaner for laminate floorings? ->Dyson stick vac thing. Get it and never look back
r/goldenretrievers • Any recommendations on good Vacuums pretty please ->I love my Miele. I’ve only had it about 8 years, but my parents has lasted over 25 years at this point. I also have two Dyson sticks and they work great
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I also used my Dyson stick vacuum for my 1000sf house, cleaned weekly plus as-needed clean ups. It’s still going strong 5+ years later. I’m only going to replace it because my ex took it in the divorce.
r/BuyItForLife • best bifl vacuum cleaner? ->Dyson stick vacuum works great
r/goldenretrievers • Any recommendations on good Vacuums pretty please ->I’ve got 2. I have a self emptying roomba that I love. I also have a Dyson stick that I also love. Just anything to keep up with the chaos. 😂
r/husky • What vacuum do you use? ->Second all the other Dyson votes. I like the stick ones. Mine sheds consistently so the lightness and suction power makes it easy to do a few quick pickups a day vs long, thorough cleans that last all of 2 hrs. I've also heard amazing things about Miele on the r/BIFL sub with people raving about it's effectiveness and longevity.
r/bernesemountaindogs • Best Vacuum?! ->I’ve had a dyson stick vacuum for about 3 months now, and while it works great now, i can already tell this thing’s days are numbered. i love the convenience of it, but next time i’ll inevitably need a vacuum i’ll probably do a little bit more research instead of buying what’s on sale at costco.
r/BuyItForLife • best bifl vacuum cleaner? ->I bought my mom a Dyson stick 5 or 6 years ago and other than the battery it's still like new. Bought a $20 battery on Amazon last year and it runs like a champ. That being said, I recently bought a shark for much less money and it runs longer and sucks better.
r/BuyItForLife • best bifl vacuum cleaner? ->We have a Miele, a Dyson stick vac, and a shark robo vac. We use them for different purposes, but all have their place in our house. Miele came first though almost 10 years ago and it’s never had any issues.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I love my Dyson stick vacuum. I stand by Dyson as my brand of choice for vacuums
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Best stick vacuums?! ->+1 Miele and Sebo vacuums are really really fantastic. They are on a different level of ability to vacuum. But they are not nearly as convenient, and unless you really really love vacuuming, a really good vacuum that is ridiculously convenient is going to be used a lot more than an even better vacuum that is less convenient. The Dyson stick vacuums are so convenient that you end up using it more, and you therefore end up with a cleaner place and more enjoyable living experience.
r/Costco • Which Vacuum Cleaner to buy? ->Coincidentally I did a lot of vacuum research recently. Here's a few things I learned. 1. Get a bagged vacuum. The convenience of bagless is a lie. The dirt ends up building up on the inside of the vacuum causing it to not work as well and for more of the dirt to be blown back into the air. Most people dont know that you should also replace the filter yearly which costs about the same as a box of bags for the year. And with bagged, you dont to worry about cleaning the vacuum so often or as thorough cause the dirt is in the bag. 2. Vacuums advertised as per vacuums are the same vacuum in a different colour and marked up. It's marketing. As long as it comes with a brush roller that is easy enough to detangle and clean out, you're good. 3. Cordless are really only good for quick jobs. When doing a good proper vacuum you want something that isn't gonna die on you halfway through especially on carpet that you gotta go over a few times because of the lovable floofs. A good pick is one with a long ass cord and is retractable with a push of a button. My commendation would be to get a Miele. There's a good deal at Costco for the Miele complete. As soon as I got ours and tried it, I laughed at our stupid stinky Dyson stick.
r/bernesemountaindogs • Best Vacuum?! ->I love all the ryobi products i've purchased except for this. Bought to replace a dyson stick and it was far worse and we returned it. Clunky, loud and poor suction. Ended up fixing the dyson stick vacuum
r/VacuumCleaners • Wondering if anyone here has experience or knows of the Ryobi ONE+ Stick Vacuums and could help with advice on if I should get one or not, Ryobi tools have held up for quite a while and one of my favorite brands here in Australia. (I hate the pull along canister vacuums) ->We never tried the shark. Ultimately, we bought some aftermarket parts for our dyson and it works good as new. I love the dyson stick vacuum for quick pickups. We also have a Miele for the whole house
r/VacuumCleaners • Wondering if anyone here has experience or knows of the Ryobi ONE+ Stick Vacuums and could help with advice on if I should get one or not, Ryobi tools have held up for quite a while and one of my favorite brands here in Australia. (I hate the pull along canister vacuums) ->I've replaced like every part except the motor in my Dyson stick vacuum over the last 10+ years and it works great. Being able to get cheap replacement parts is a huge benefit
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Dyson stick vacuum cleaners are the easiest to use and the best design for domestic use IMO. I had a miele in the past, and dragging around a cleaner on little wheels and replacing bags is terrible: I don't care how long they last.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Got an eight pound riccar that is a beast. Use it for most of our cleaning on a weekly basis on carpets and rugs. Dyson portable for daily cleaning around kitchen
r/BuyItForLife • best bifl vacuum cleaner? ->I have a Shark upright at home. Love it. Used a Dyson stick cordless vacuum for the first time at my sister's house last week when I was watching her dogs. The thing would not suck up the bigger chunks of dog hair on hard floors bc the head sits too close to the ground, so it ends up pushing bigger debris out of the way. I kept having to lift it up then drop it on top of the chunks of hair to suck it up. Sometimes it would kick the dog hair out instead of sucking it up. I was l getting so mad and was very tempted to drive 20 minutes to my place for my Shark.
r/Costco • Which Vacuum Cleaner to buy? ->I have a Dyson cordless stick vac. I really wish I'd bought one years ago. Soooo easy to vacuum without the cord, and it has great suction. I spent about $600 for mine. It's really hard to get one that does a decent job for $350 or less.
r/Costco • Which Vacuum Cleaner to buy? ->My Miele is 15 years old , has some paint scratches but works fine otherwise. This is the main vacuum. I also have Dyson cordless stick and that thing already on replaced bin ( original cracked) and third party batteries. As much as stick convenient in area without available outlets I don’t like that thing. Third thing I use almost daily is robot vacuum. I have pets and it makes life easier.
r/BuyItForLife • Best vacuum cleaner? ->Never thought I'd feel so strongly about a vacuum, but I love my dyson. It's the cordless stick version. After 5 years, the battery started to get weak. We just replaced that with an off brand battery and it works like new.
r/vegan • Looking for a vacuum cleaner ->Yes, being cordless and effective for what I need. They have HEPA filters, at least mine does. The no bag is a feature for some of us not a defect. It's all a tradeoff. For some the tradeoff for cordless, no bags, good suction, etal means we vacuum more than we otherwise would. I dont make a mess emptying it vs making a mess swapping bags - cause I overfill it. That's a me thing but it's a consistent me thing and I dont have to worry about it with the Dyson. I never would have thought I'd defend a near $1,000 cordless vacuum but I got one as a gift and will never buy anything different now.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I have the rechargeable #2 on the list Dyson stick and I LOVE IT! If you have carpeted stairs, it’s no challenge dealing with those. I live in a 2700 square foot cookie-cutter tract house. First floor is laminate with an office that has carpet. Then there’s the stairs which leads to 5 carpeted bedrooms, two tile bathrooms, a laundry room, and a walk-in carpeted closet. I can get all of that done one charge.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->> Dyson make the best cordless vacuums. Good one! As a Dyson owner I wish I'd got a Shark or Miele. Dysons are average at best.
r/newzealand • Briscoes sale - vacuum cleaner recommendations please!! ->I would never buy a Dyson if it wasn’t for Costco and their lifetime returns. We’re on our third Dyson cordless. They work well when they work, and then eventually they break. Maybe Costco gets cheap ones.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Cordless Dyson if you have hardwood floors. If our girl was ever on carpet I’d get a corded version but the run time on the cordless is sufficient and not having a cord to mess with means I actually use it
r/greatpyrenees • Best vacuum to purchase when you have a Great Pyr ->same here for the Shark Plug in model. the amount of dog hair / ETC it can get out of the carpet vs the Dyson Cordless cannot be compared. For purely hard wood / laminate (or very little rug or carpet) Dyson cordless stick vac is IMO is plenty. Good enough run time, and not heavy or unwieldy.
r/BuyItForLife • Can someone please recommend a good vacuum cleaner for laminate floorings? ->Literally buy it for life. Sweeping is an everyday job and with the Dyson, we vac the hard floor everyday for a few mins and get on with life. Worth the $2xx after rewards.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I regret my Dyson; you still have to clean the heads periodically because of the amount of cat hair that clog up the works! It’s light and manoeuvre able but it was very expensive and I wonder if an old schlol vacuu bag canister would be just as good and way cheaper
r/SiberianCats • Help! My vacuum cleaner broke. Recommendations? ->The sharks are half the price at least and have nearly equal weight profiles as Dyson. Dyson warranties on cordless are just as garbage as everyone else's. Really need to talk to vacuum specialists that take care of vacuums and do maintenance for years. Not reddit consumers who never clean the filters, brushes, or tracks not to mention reviewing vacuums that have only been around for a few years
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I've had my cordless Dyson for 5 years now. I can never go back. You just need to make sure you take it apart and thoroughly clean it every 6-8 months depending on use. The ease of vacuuming with it makes me despise cord vacuums. I can never go back. Imagine trying to water your plants around your entire house with a hose versus a squirt gun that put out like a hose.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I’m sorry, the cordless Dyson isn’t that great for carpet/rugs so I wouldn’t rank it that high. The attachments are excellent for their specific uses like couch/mattress, the nozzle for corners but I have the old school Dyson Ball vacuum cleaner and it’s sooo much better for rugs. Vacuum’s with cords for the win!
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I just took my cordless Dyson to the dump. Maintenance nightmare.
r/VacuumCleaners • Suggest some of the best cordless DYSON vacuums ->I work in shops, and Dyson cordless vacuums are revered. Need to vacuum up sawdust and aluminum chips and plastic shavings and metal filings? The Dyson will do it. Sharks and similar seem to break in a month or two. The power tool branded vacs are tougher but don’t work as well. The only downside is the batteries, but you can buy a DeWalt or Milwaukee adapter and never worry about it again.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->My Miele corded vacuum has lasted for over almost 15 years. Some of the attachments look worn down, but they still work very well. I also have a Roomba and a Dyson cordless vacuum, but I don’t feel like it’s a fair comparison, since battery packs degrade over time. I’ve had to replace the battery pack for the Dyson, and my Roomba seems like it runs out of juice noticeably faster than before.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->> The anti-Dyson sentiment in places like a vacuum sub always feels like sock puppets shooting them down to promote their own brand or people just being opposed to what is popular. This and "enthusiests" in any given segment will be willing to give up convenience and performance. They always miss the entire point of a dyson, which is completely convenience. I don't want to lug around a bagged vacuum, I don't want to have to plug it in, dyson retains the build & performance but makes it cordless and quiet.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I have cement floors (we mop once a week/once every two weeks) and \~1100 sqft. We used to have a cordless Dyson which I liked but it broke after \~4 years. I'm willing to spend that kind of money again (\~$500) if needed but also always down to save money too. Any recommendations?
r/VacuumCleaners • Best vacuum for everyday cement floors + one rug ->I have a cat and she sheds a lot! 😹 I used to have a Dyson but I hate to hold pressing the power button all the time. I love my LG.
r/Apartmentliving • What cordless vacuum cleaners have y'all had good luck with? ->I really wanted to love the Dyson cordless vacuums, but I couldn’t get over having to press the button down the entire time vacuuming. Plus, the stick vacuums are a bit top heavy as well so it just felt super awkward to maneuver. It could just be because my hands are super hypermobile and so it’s ridiculously uncomfortable. I’m researching other cordless/stick brands.
r/VacuumCleaners • Suggest some of the best cordless DYSON vacuums ->Dyson!! The wireless stick is a the most used item in our house!
r/labrador • Lab owners, what’s your favorite vacuum? Ours went out and we need a new one that’s great for dog hair ->I bought a Dyson cordless vacuum in 2018, so far no issues but then again it’s only been going on 7 years. But I’ve been spoiled by cordless vacuuming, especially since my house was built in the 20s and has few options for outlets.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->Yeah I had a piece crack on my cordless Dyson when I dropped it, and they sent me a replacement no problem. While I was on the phone with them, I mentioned the battery was draining pretty fast and it wasn’t sucking as well as it used to, and they sent a new battery and filter as well. Also, it was outside the warranty period, so I was pretty happy with the customer service.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->hahah not sure how acurate that analogy is, but I love it. as I love my dyson, never in my life am I going back to corded vacuums
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Out of all the cordless I’ve had, Dyson was good. LG was bad. More recently I’ve seen the Ryobi recommended
r/BuyItForLife • best bifl vacuum cleaner? ->My cordless Dyson lasted 3 years. Recently got a new corded vacuum not worth having to replace every 3 years vacuum cleaners should last 20
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I know vacuum fans/experts hate Dyson, but my Dyson has been working great and it actually makes me want go vacuum. I don’t like dragging a cord around. It’s easy to use, my kids can use it too, they love it and take turn to do it.
r/BuyItForLife • These are the most recommended vacuum cleaners on Reddit (r/VacuumCleaners VS others) as of Jan 2025 ->I have a lower end Miele as my main vacuum and have had it for 10 years and it is like new... however I did supplement with a Dyson cordless for awhile and it went through a battery every year and I had to replace several broken plastic bits on the cannister.... also those make a mess when you try to empty them..... No cordless vacuums are BIFL.... HOWEVER we did get a Samsung Bespoke Jet cordless vac 2 years ago and I love that thing. Pricy for a cordless but it is way better quality than the Dyson and has a charging base that also contains a vacuum/bag that sucks the dirt out of it into a bag... so completely mess-less. It also has two batteries that can be swapped in seconds like a power tool. The second battery mounts to the dock in a second charger. It is also quieter than the Dyson and the Miele.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->Get yourself a quality bagless stick vac. Super convenient to use, you'll find your house way cleaner because you'll use it way more often. Dyson would be my choice.
r/VacuumCleaners • What is the best vacuum to buy of these 3 options? ->I'm on year 5 or 6 of my Dyson... biggest complaint is the battery seems to not last as long... plenty of use with pets.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->We’ve had our cordless dyson for 5 years but it’s honestly not the best compared to a rainbow or other brands at this point in its life.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I pull both Mieles and Dysons out of the trash. These days I only grab the cordless Dyso9ns, but in the past have done the upright models. They are usually work after cleaning up. Maybe half the cordless examples I get need a new battery.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->In another life I was a Kirby service tech and I serviced machines on a number of occasions > 40-50 years old. At the time they had parts available for all machines. They ARE expensive (and the sales process leaves a lot to be desired) but are generally built like tanks. If there's a weak point, it's the fan. Even if it is Lexan, hard/heavy enough debris (eg bolts) can shatter the blades. The nice thing about the design is that instead of putting the bag inline with the fan, the bags fill from the top so it's able to maintain airflow. We have one (though it was a gift) but generally use our Dyson cordless day to day.
r/BuyItForLife • What’s the best corded vacuum of 2025??? ->Honestly as an ex appliance engineer, the cordless Dysons are great for use but terrible when something goes wrong. We used to just write them off if it was anything more than a blockage. Dyson are also very difficult to deal with to get parts etc.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I didn't mean consumer end I meant b2b they were difficult to deal with i.e. sourcing the parts for the customer and general support.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I’m surprised to see you say Dyson is difficult for parts. I’ve been buying their cordless vacs for 10+ years and any time I need a part they either overnight for free or they charge a fair price.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I’ve only had 2 over the 10+ years. Someone broke my first one and then I replaced it with a newer model.
r/BuyItForLife • I analyzed the 25 most recommended vacuum cleaners on reddit ->I just asked about how often I’d be buying bags for a sebo with two high shedding large dogs, (similar probably too a gsd and 3 (if long hair cats) I would probably be replacing the bag every week. (Actually more than that because I didn’t tell people I also have 3 cats haha) Someone with a husky commented that they replace the bag 1.5-2 times a month. Calculating that cost for two dogs is another 210 a year in bags (probably more for me) I am taking that into account with replacing a vacuum that died (Dyson) but it doesn’t have a bag or a Sebo that has a 10 year warranty but I will have probably bought 2-3 dysons in that time period with the amount I’d be spending on bags. I haven’t decided yet 🙃 but thought I’d share the numbers.
r/VacuumCleaners • Need recommendations for a decent vacuum cleaner ->
