Yeah this is sadly common. My v15 had the same issue and died just outside of warranty. A new cyclone unit was $150 which fixed the issue.

Is that possible? The v15 was released Mar 2021 and carried a two year warranty. The first out of warranty replacement would be in Mar onwards 2023. Each replacement carries its own one year warranty. So then the second replacement Mar 2024 and third replacement Mar 2025. That's assuming it dies 1 day after warranty. You must be the unluckiest person alive hah.

I have the V15 and am very satisfied with it. I think the V8 will serve you well for small pickups around the house. It’s very convenient to just grab a small vacuum like this to clean up small bits here and there. I cut my hair at home and this thing is awesome for cleaning up afterwards, as well as cleaning the messes that my boxer creates throughout the day.

We had a V15 that we had to replace twice due to power failures. Apparently a lot of the new versions have a board with capacitor issues that cause it to overload and fail after regular use. We just went to a V8 because of having to replace multiple machines because of this. The V8 uses an older board and so I am hoping it doesn’t have this issue

Dyson V 15 and Sebo owner with two super hairy shorthairs living in a cement floored warehouse with lots of Turkish area rugs. Not sure what your obviously perfect feline does but life with my kitties has its challenges. They are dirt attractants to say nothing of the charms of litter in bare fee. Couldn’t live without the instant availability of a cordless and the 15 is a solid performer in all areas. My rugs do look cleaner after a full Sebo experience but I’m lazy and place is big. I have come to realize you need more than one vacuum, unless you have only one flooring type , don’t have to carry up stairs or navigate a labyrinth of hallways and live in under 1000sq ft.

I LOVE our Dyson V15, however, I definitely don't think it is 'buy it for life.' I don't see it being a durable piece of equipment and lasting many years. Pieces of it have come flying off apparently with no way to fix (cosmetic things, thankfully). However, it is amazing.

I know this topic comes up often and it's always said that a cordless vacuum isn't BIFL. But damn if the Dyson V15 isn't life changing for me. I actually *like* vacuuming now. Lugging the cannister and cord around of my old vacuum room to room was such a chore. It's just so much easier and I like their little gimmick of showing how much dirt it's captured. Bought mine refurbished for a nice price and had it for around 1.5 years now. Granted I've never tried a Miele before, but I only have hardwood floors and a few spot rugs so I don't think I'd never the extra power or whatever else advantages it brings. Especially at the expense of lugging the cannister around with me.

I bought a V15 last year and thought it was quite powerful. But the power head broke within 2 weeks and replacements were out of stock. So I returned it and got a Samsung Bespoke Jet. The Samsung is strong enough on the min setting to do a quick touch up of the house (mainly pet hair pick up), which results in a long run time of about an hour. The combo head does not need to be switched when moving from hard floor to area rugs/carpets. The charging stand that comes with the unit will also empty the dust bin. For me, my reason for getting a cordless vacuum was for the convenience to do quick touch ups without dragging out the canister vacuum, and the Samsung fulfills that better than the Dyson.

Almost 3 years ago I changed my cleaning routine and started vacuuming (almost) daily. I bought the cordless Dysonv15 whatever that plugs in to charge but can run without a cord. And let me tell you it is a total GameChanger! It doesn’t make vacuuming fun per se - but it sure makes it a heck of a lot easier not having to plug and unplug the cord every 20-30feet. I can also get the whole house done in 15-20 minutes (2700sfish). And my OCD self loves not seeing hair on the floor. For Mothers Day this year, my sis and I went in on one for my mom. Not the same model but still a cordless one and my mom says the same thing now. That she loves the vacuum! If your budget allows, I highly recommend a cordless vacuum. It may just be a tiny piece that really improves your quality of life!

We have: Roomba - Used 2/3 times a week between cleaner being here. Only does downstairs. Had this for many years, would definitely replace it when it breaks, maybe with one that mops and empties itself. Dyson V15 cordless - wall mounted for easy jobs and quick zip around. It has the green laser so it makes it easy to see where to clean. It's really good, buttttt....It doesn't last super long though, and I'm not impressed by the battery. Used by us and our cleaner. If it broke I would probably buy a replacement. Dyson Animal corded - Super powerful, but a bit cumbersome. Mostly used by our cleaner. Has this for nearly a decade I think. Very good investment. If it broke I might not replace and leverage the other two.

We have a V15 and so far it’s been faultless, if you keep the filters clean and close the shutter on the cleaner head (some of them have a + - slider on it, slide it to ensure the shutter is closed when on carpet for maximum suction. I clean the filter once a month and it sucks hard enough that my partner struggles to push it along the floor.

When using Dyson try to empty when you get to MAX, I know it can sometimes clump on the top, try to vacuum a bit slower then. Regarding marking floors, it's probably rubber wheel on the head that makes marks, had the same problem with ours at first. Disappears when you wash the floor. Yeah, absolutely don't mention Dyson on this forum, and God forbid say it's good. They think here that Dysons been on the market for over 30 years making crappy products that don't last due to good marketing. And Sebo, brand hardly anyone ever heard of, makes the best vacuums in the world. I've had Felix in the past. It is a great vacuum, it will probably clean carpets much better than Dyson yes, but it comes at a cost, at least it did in my case. It is a bit top heavy, head kinda always pulls you forward so you need force to push vacuum about. It does swivel but despite what this forum says, it's not as good as Dyson Ball swivel. No wand was a huge negative for me. You have to bend down to get to corners etc. It was pretty average on hard floors and changing for parquet head was too much messing about. Bag can start smelling after some time. Funny cause guys here say Dysons stink. We've had our V15 for about 4 years, doesn't smell at all. Obviously if you vacuum something damp it definitely will but with Felix, it'll smell no matter what. And no, changing the bag won't make the smell go away. Another annoying thing, you can lift the main body to use the vacuum for stairs, car etc. it blows really hot air though so it's like carrying a portable heater, might be great in winter actually. I also always thought brush roll on/off on head was annoying. You really really hard to press it hard. Wonder why it wasn't implemented on the handle. Going back to Dyson, empty when you get to MAX, clean filter with water only roughly once a month, make sure it's completely dry and don't use it on Boost all the time. I'm based in UK and work in appliance shop, plenty of various customers. But definitely don't have customers coming back after a year saying their Dysons broke. Unless they've trashed the vacuum, and some actually bring vacuums that have never had filters cleaned or been used to vacuum something damp. Actually plenty coming back for a new model to replace 5 or 6 years old stick. So they can definitely last if you look after them. And not like they have to replace it cause it's all broken, usually battery or head doesn't work anymore. Yeah yeah I know, not 20 years that Sebo will give but I'd still prefer to get a new vac after 5 years that's really nice and easy to use.

Indeed, the Dyson is ideal for everyday light cleaning in smaller spaces or apartments. A canister vacuum is more suitable for thorough weekly cleaning of a larger home. Unfortunately, I cannot afford both the SEBO I purchased and a €1000 Dyson. I might consider a robot vacuum for automated daily cleaning and mopping in the future, though higher-quality models are also quite costly, similar to the Dyson, and also made in Asia, which I prefer to avoid.

some areas of WDW resort custodial use the Dyson V15's and I gotta be honest, theyre the only ones that have lasted months instead of mere days like other brands. They are worked HAAAARD and they still work great. Every other brand thats been put in our hands has broken in a few days or couple of weeks, so the company splurged for the good ones and they have probably already paid for themselves.

I think most people buying vacuums aren’t treating or looking at them as BIFL. Vacuum techs are going to crap on anything difficult to repair/maintain while your average consumer is only going to see the end result. I’ve owned a Hoover upright, shark upright, Dyson upright, and now 2 different Dyson sticks including the v15. I would never buy a canister vacuum due to what I deem as an inconvenience in pulling it around everywhere. When we owned a house with majority carpet the Dyson and Shark uprights were great. We have dogs and their brush roll was incredible at picking up pet hair. Our current house is primarily hardwoods and we still have dogs. The V15 is amazing, super light, and convenient. And despite how gimmicky the green light thing may look it really does work amazingly well for hardwoods with pet hair. It does ok on carpet and rugs but the old canisters feel like they would for sure outperform it. I don’t really expect a lifetime out of my vacuum especially if I’m buying a $150 Shark. If I get several years I’m pretty happy as the repair bill is near the cost of the Vacuum - it’s almost like the printers whose ink refills was more expensive than a new printer.

For my use with only hard floors,a small space and tons of heavy spot cleaning, having cordless mobility isn't optional. And I find it does a better job than the Dyson ball I used to have. Like most things the 'best' choice is extremely dependent on the specifics of use. There's no circumstance where a corded vacuum would ever be in consideration for me, so while I'm sure Miele makes excellent vacuums, they'll never work for me. That said, I only got it because it was on sale and at Costco. The full price is eye watering and a bit demented.

Funny enough I just made a similar post but geared towards Sharks in specific. Like I understand that people want a professional vacuum, for some reason. In my opinion I feel like you only really need one of those big professional vacuums if you're cleaning for a living. Most people up would do fine with a battery-powered stick vacuum that hangs up and charges and you can just take down and use whenever you need to use it and then hang it back up when you're done. I bought an expensive canister vacuum and then ended up hating it because I was constantly having to lug it out and plug it in and do all these extra steps so I never really ended up using it. But then I got a stick vacuum and I use it everyday now because it's way more convenient and I think that that's what most people want. I understand the need for a large plug-in bagged vacuum for once in a while use or if you're a house cleaner but for the majority of people a stick vacuum is more than good.

Yeah also among the cordless vacuums there is this Dyson elitism which is so silly to me. I had a Dyson V15 and was constantly having to reach in the vacuum to pull the dust out. I returned it for a Shark that was $300 cheaper and came with a dock that empties itself and charges it. Also it intelligently switches from hard to soft floors, on my Dyson I had to put a separate head on it. I will say I only have carpet on my stairs and the rest of my 2000 sq ft home is hard floors. For someone with a lot of carpet maybe the cord and bag really has a place but for me I'm more than happy with a stick vacuum. When Miele goes on sale I will buy one just for days when I want to deep clean because you can get the C1 on sale for under $300

Just to chime in here, I had a Numatic Henry vaccum for about 10 years then moved to a Chinese branded stick vaccum, just last week I bit the bullet and went with the Dyson v15 and I genuinely was shocked at its incredibly good performance. My carpets were only visibly clean till I used the v15. It seems like this subreddit, in general, is entirely anti dyson or stick vaccum/cordless, so I wouldn't pass any remarks. It's like a vendetta or cult of folk out with pitch forks to tell you why you're wrong.

Only downside is being cordless has limited run time so I alternate days I vacuum up and down stairs or give a few hours to charge up It replaced my previous Dyson v7 wich worked great when i bought my house, shortly after getting my heeler it just couldn't cope. lol

This is absolutely a you problem. They sell millions, have done for decades. If you they were terrible, then a free-market economy would dictate that Dyson would no longer exist. You either refuse to, or dont know how to use it properly. There is a wealth of knowledge online, several videos by Dyson on how to use and maintain the product. I am millions of other people are happy with their disowns and they perform very well. This sent to say a Miele or Sebo arent good or better for some people. Ive had several Sebo models. They are also good, solid machine, but Ive had dyson for 10 years now. I still have my first purchase which works fine, and my v15 has seen very heavy abuse at my Airbnb. They are good machines.

Yes, as it looks like you are referring to stick vacuums. I got a refurbished V8 about 12 years ago. The battery started to crap out after five years, so I got a Tineco. I moved the Dyson to my second floor for quick jobs and kept the Tineco on the main floor for daily work (between wood kitchen floor, rugs and carpeted living/dining room). Then I realized I could replace the V8 battery. It came back to life and I was reminded how well it worked. I had to replace the Tineco battery after one year and then when it was dying again the second year, I gave up on it and got a new Dyson V15. It is awesome and worth every expensive penny. I have a Sebo canister vacuum as a "deep clean", but I have been underwhelmed with it. My two Dyson sticks do a great job and I vacuum pretty much everyday. I spent $200 on the Tineco that lasted two years and I hated it. I spent $200 on my 12yo V8 and replaced the battery once. I spent $700 on my new V15 and plan to have it last just as long as my V8 (which is still going strong). (Oh, I also should mention I don't have pets, but I have long hair and so does my daughter. The V15 is noticeably great at staying unclogged with wrapped up hair.)

I love my Dyson v15. I have a long haired cat and often I end up vacuuming after her twice a day. It’s just easier running around with a cordless, and it picks up so much hair. I had a v7 before this one and when I upgraded I vacuumed with the 7 and then the 15 just to see the difference. Couldn’t believe how much extra hair the 15 picked up. I did have an issue with the submarine head but they sent me a new one with no fuss.

We bought a dyson earlier this year and it's my favourite thing we ever bought. It just makes it all so much easier and now I hoover most days because it takes the hassle out of lugging the yoke around. I haven't used a Shark so can't offer comparison, but I really do love my dyson.

We got the v15, I think it was about €699 at the time (we had vouchers from our wedding, otherwise we'd never have afforded that!). If I was you, I'd spend the extra few bob for the v12, my opinion is usually to try get the best you can, rather than a lower quality model to end up buying another! I do use it as my main hoover, but to be fair I get a cleaner in fortnightly, so she does a big hoover and then I keep on top of it. I know the folks over in r/vacuumcleaners have a vendetta against dyson and claim you can't use it as your main hoover or your house will be dirty, but I reckon those people maybe have super high standards haha! I have a toddler and a newborn so it just suits my lifestyle well because I can do a quick run around during the day to keep on top of the floors.

Dyson v15 detect with both fluffy and total attachments! This is what I have and really love to use. I also have a Miele C3 which is an acceptable vacuum in this group, but I really only like to use the Dyson v15. The Dyson even vacuums all the newfoundland dog hairs from sisal carpets which Miele miserably fails to do. As a bonus I like to vacuum dust and crap from sofas and tabletops and ceilings etc. which I would never do with Miele. So I recommend you go for v15. I have older Dyson models as well and cannot recommend those.

I see the appeal of a stick. I have a V15. It’s about 3 yrs old. It’s primary role is for in-between cleans, small messes. Touch-ups. But, if I am going to vac our main living areas or the entire house, I can get the job done a lot faster with my Miele. If I am going to deep clean the carpet, I don’t pre-vac with my V15. I use my Kirby. If I am going to detail a vehicle, Miele. If I am going to use attachments for deep cleaning, Miele.

What is your budget? Dyson Outlet Store online sells factory-remanufactured V15 vacs for $409. You won’t be able to tell the difference between one of those and a “new” V15. I paid almost double that for mine a few years ago. No issues with it.

How much can you spend? Poor cleaning and filtration performance would be my main concern with cordless, not quality. You might be inclined to vacuum more often with a cordless, but what’s the point if it can’t remove the bulk of the fur, dirt, etc? Perhaps you don’t know, but there are differences between cleaning performance and filtration (2nd most important aspect) between vacuums. In other words, a cordless vacuum gives you convenience but will leave your home not as clean as you might think it would. I have a Dyson V15 which is one of the best-cleaning and filtering cordless vacs available and it still leaves dirt and fur behind in our carpet, couch, etc. We have pets, dogs and cats, and bad allergies in my home. The cordless vacs I’ve used just don’t cut it. Even if we lived in a small apartment, it would still leave fur and dirt behind and that is the stuff that causes allergies, breathing issues, odors, and other problems. Another thing is that when cordless stick vacs are used as main vacuums consistently, that is when they start to break. Cordless sticks have always been intended to be used as in-between clean vacuums. There are some cordless uprights, but they still don’t have the power of the better corded uprights and canisters. I think you should consider buying a corded sealed-system bagged vacuum with a long* cord and then buy a cordless sealed-system vac to supplement usage. You can get corded vacs with automatic retracting cords so you don’t have to wrap it up after each use. You can get them with cords long enough that you don’t have to plug them in but one time, and most uprights have a cord hook that you can turn to let the whole cord down at once so you don’t have to slowly un-wrap it. You can avoid cord tangling by wrapping them in a figure-8. Hoover Commercial makes some cordless uprights, including one called the Hushtone. They use paper bags, though. You ideally would like a bagged vac using HEPA or high filtration cloth* bags. Riccar makes a super light weight cordless upright that filters well but it’s mainly for carpet. I’d look into a Kenmore 600 Series if budget is a concern, or one of the other bagged corded Kenmore models. Then, look into a sealed-system Dyson stick for supplemental usage. I’m not as familiar with sticks from other brands but Shark may have one that is competitive in performance. They didn’t when I bought my V15 but that was several years ago. If budget is not a concern or you can spend more if you really decide it’s worth it, look at Sebo Dart, Felix, Sebo canisters, Miele C3, Lindhaus, Riccar, Rainbow, etc. Miele makes a decent stick but only the base model HX1 is worth it.

V15 - ours is 3 - 4 yrs old. No problems. Our Shark needed a new power nozzle in less than 6 of use because the brush roll ripped, and it’s not replaceable by itself. You have to replace the entire power head. On the Dyson, way more individual parts are replaceable including the brush roll, so it’s definitely more serviceable and repairable. Therefore, the V15 is the most dependable. Just make sure to fully charge it before turning it on. Wash the filter monthly, replace annually. Wash brush rolls, dust bin periodically, blow out cyclone periodically. It has more suction than 99% if other vacuums and the carpet cleaning is admirable - impressive for a stick.

There really isn’t a whole house cordless vac that will hold up. Cordless stick vacs are meant for spot cleaning, maybe a whole room. Beyond that, they wear down really fast. My favorite stick vacs are the HX2 Triflex and V15. They’ve got a similar level of airflow but my Triflex overall feels higher quality. I don’t like the flimsy looseness of my V15, but they both clean pretty well for stick vacs.

The Dyson V15 and Gen5Detect are the most powerful cordless stick vacs. I believe they’re worth owning, but they aren’t worth being the only vacuum someone has. In other words, a good corded main vac is still necessary for deep cleaning.

The Shark is corded, but it is awesome and powerful.  The Dyson is great but it's more for smaller jobs.  The tank is so small and the battery doesn't last long for big messes in high power mode.  I would look at Shark models if I were in the market to solve your problem.

> It's not terrible, but you can spend a little more and get another brand that is much better. I would say the value comparison isn't that simple. Performance-wise, the Ryobi didn't do great, but those are difficult tests. How often do any of us vacuum a cup full of sand out of our carpets? I would expect much less of a performance gap doing typical household vacuuming. I think it would be fair to say the test shows this specific Ryobi (I've heard the newest model is better) is not a good choice for anyone who hopes for it to be their only vacuum for a home with lots of carpet (although arguably no stick vacuum is a good choice as the only vacuum for a home with lots of carpet). As a convenience complement to a corded vacuum or as the primary vacuum for a home with all hard floors, however, a lower level of performance may be pretty satisfactory. You are right that the top scorer, the Dyson V15, clearly performs much better in every category, but it doesn't cost "a little more." It's currently almost 3x the price (I see $560 at Costco)! For that, you get a single battery, which I think is 54 Wh (21.6V V x 2.5Ah), plus a very slow charger (4.5 hours). If you want a spare battery to be able to swap out to keep going, or as eventual replacement, it's $150. The Ryobi comes with 180 Wh worth of batteries (although the 2Ah is probably not ideal for use with the vac), and a charger that can fill a 4Ah battery in about 2 hours for $199. In the OP's case, the cost difference is even bigger, because he's going to return the batteries and use what he already has. $97 vs $560? I think you have to very clearly need the better performance to justify such a big leap. Obviously the comparison is closer versus some of the other models. Of the models that beat the Ryobi, the LG seemed like perhaps the best value ($278 at Home Depot). Perhaps that is close enough to reasonably characterize as "spend a little more and get much better" compared to $199 for the Ryobi. But still less so compared to $97 for the Ryobi.

I gave up on Dyson after seeing damage to my less than 2 year old solid hickory wood floors. The fluffy head sits too close to the floors on the laser side. As it moves back and forth, it sometimes scrapes the beveled edges. Exchanged one V15 after that happened, thinking it was just that one that was defective. Second one ended up doing the same, and the canister seal broke after a month. Returned to Costco, never will buy another Dyson. Just bought a Sebo K3 which comes with a parquet floor brush which is gentle on hardwood floors.

I have had a very heavy Electrolux Epic 8000 canister for 19 years. Bought a Dyson thinking it would work well for in between, and thought it would work well for all the Golden hair on my NEW hardwood floors. The V10 Dyson head was taking the finish off of the tops of some of the beveled edges! I liked the convenience of it, so bought a V15 thinking the fluffy head would not damage my hardwood floors, but it also was doing the same. Returned one V15 thinking it was a fluke. Bought another V15, and the canister seal broke after a month. Returned again to Costco, and never again for any Dyson! My 8000 needs a new hose, and debated on getting that or looking at the store. Vac store had Miele and Sebo, both of which are highly recommended here. Vac store let me take home 2 models to try, the Sebo K3 and E3. The parquet wood floor brush has a better shape than the floor brush for my 8000. I found the smaller size of the K3, and the smaller hose, to maneuver better than the E3. Wish it had a larger bag and a headlight for the carpet brush. Overall happy with the K3. Bought an unused open box unit for $749. My local store recommended the Sebo over Miele, saying the warranty was better. I did not try any of the Miele models. I also like the fact that the Sebo canister models have bumpers around the edges, so they can’t damage furniture, corners, etc. The Sebo K3 would be a bit higher than your price range, and the E3 would be more. Hopefully your local store sells both Sebo and Miele.

I like my dyson V11 and V15, but they aren't exactly BIFL. While it might be technicaly possible to get some parts if something breaks, parts are often out of stock for months, and you might end up replacing most of the vacuum if what should be a minor part fails. E.g. most of the stick vacs have a small plastic tab that keeps the dust bin attached when you're emptying it over a trash can. That tiny tab broke off of my V11, and the bin flys off if I'm not careful when emptying it. To "fix" the tab, you have to replace the whole "main body and cyclone" assembly, which is basically 90% of the vacuum and costs > $100. With that said, they do seem to pick up dirt pretty well in my experience on rugs and hardwoods, and they are light enough to easily maneuver and the battery lasts long enough to do our whole 1500 ft\^2 house. I also got mine refurbished so they were far less than retail price.

My husband bought a v15 Dyson with all the attachments. It's nice but emptying the bin after every other use is annoying. Cleaning the after filter is messy and annoying. Blowing out the cyclone part of the filter is messy AF. And for people who live in apartments or similar would be impossible. However my Kirby is self propelled and I get about 2-3 months on a bag. Belts last forever and it has huge amounts of suction. Like it lifts the carpet up kind of suction. And I don't have to worry about running out of battery or hurting the battery.

We got a V8 many years ago for the kitchen to vacuum crumbs daily, pretty soon we stopped using the corded vac and got rid of it. We got the v15 a couple years ago and our V8 was still running strong. We actually sold it for like $80 used. You can buy cheap adapters for Dyson to use power tool batteries. I will probably buy one when the battery starts to go, but right now we still can do the whole house on a single charge with juice left over. Buy the vacuum you will use. If any part of you thinks the cord will annoy you, go with a stick. Some vacuum action is better than none

I have a version of the v15 I believe. I love it tbh. I owned a shark cordless before but it's not the best suction imo and super loud & there were part of the vaccum that are impossible to clean and it looks nasty fast. The Dyson has amazing suction, easier to clean parts vs the shark, good battery imo (2bed2bath apt, great on hardwood and carpet (90% hardwood for me). When my light detect wasn't working I contacted them and they immediately responded and sent me a new vacuum head. I was concerned too as they had a bad rep online but usually the bigger something is, the more hate it generates. It's stronger than my corded Bissell I owned. And idc that the charge doesn't last 178383 hours. I vacuum everyday, and don't vacuum for hours anyways, cordless or not 😭 I will say I purchased it officially off the Dyson website! I prefer to buy larger appliances direct from their sites for warranty reasons or Costco.

We got the Dyson V15 (not technically EU though). It cost a lot but it is amazing. It’s packed with two batteries, it’s not very heavy and it has long enough battery life so I can vacuum the whole house in one go. My spouse works for a competitor so the first cordless vacuum cleaner we got was one from her company and it was clunky and heavy and it broke down after half a year. Then I decided to go premium and I have not been disappointed.

For hard floors any model will be suitable, just make sure it has the Fluffy floor head. The newer models like the V15 and Gen5 really shine when it comes to carpet cleaning and are the only models I’d recommend if you’ve got carpets.

I was a Dyson Animal ball vacuum fan but durability became an issue. I love the Dyson V15 for our hard surface floors. Bought a Sebo Felix last year and it does great on carpet. However, it’s a heavy machine compared to Dyson, Shark, etc. As a CR subscriber for decades I can attest to a decline in their rating quality. It may be that their shift to algorithms that weight other factors differently.

So far I really love my V15, but I'm more of a hardwood floor, living room rug and car interior cleaner. I've only ever had extremely shitty vacuums before this, though, so maybe my standards are low. But it gets my cat's fur right out of the rug and is very useful for nooks and crannies. Maybe the green light thing is a gimmick but it helps me spot crap on the floor I would not see otherwise. I believe I bought it in March of '22. So far no issues (knock on wood).

I've had or have all 3 (well a V7 instead of a V8/V9) Tineco: It cleaned ok but you have to service the pre motor filter after every use. And really flimsy. The battery catch broke on normal use, I returned it after a month or so and got a V15 instead on sale. V8 vs V15: Get the V8 if you are stuck between the two. I've had less issues (maintenance) and it is seemingly the same power when you run it on max mode. Which is what you gotta do with either to effectively clean carpets. Still have the v7 but the handle cracked (DIY repair) & I had to convert it to run on dewalt drill batteries as the factory battery died. But... Like the general consensus around here is going to be, look at Miele, Sebo, or Lindhaus if you really want a machine that will clean your floors. Yes they have bags, but that is a good thing. The cord thing admittedly isn't fun to deal with. The "bags cause suction loss" is nothing but a Dyson marketing ploy. Maybe 20 years ago before bag tech improved. Now they only lose suction when completely full. Trust me (and most on here..) on this, the bags are a ton less maintenance than bagless models, and you aren't exposing yourself to all the dirt and dust when you dump it. You gotta dump the bagless when it gets about half full, or you'll really have fun cleaning the machine out. For instance, my house would take 4-5 dumps per each floor cleaning (1700 sq ft or 160 m2), but get about a month out of a bag doing the whole house (3400 sq ft/ 320m2)

Lots to unpack there, gonna try to keep it short. Miele's have the (or one of the) most expensive bags/filters. If recurring costs are a consideration, look at Sebo and Lindhaus units too. Get the powered brush roller, then wait and see on extra accessories if you actually need them. Bags: Generally speaking a box a bags will last you \~ 1 year Any bagless machine is going to have lots of maintenance, or a very short lifespan... None of them are going to perform well on low/medium settings for carpet. In my limited experience with them, Dyson's don't clog the filters often, but the cyclones can get stinky (pet stink), and they are almost impossible to clean out (gotta disassemble, you'd better be very well versed in technical matters and have the right tools). After my Dyson experiences I would consider either the LG L9, or possibly the Henry Cordless, as it has bags. LG L9 has a removable cyclone assembly for easy cleaning; the Henry you should have minimal maintenance because it has bags. Unless you want to wash filters after every use, stay away from the 'budget' models. Personally I have a Dyson V7 (V8), and a V15. I would strongly suggest the V8 over the V15. Less/easier maintenance, and the V7 has never gotten stinky unlike the much newer V15. Performance wise I can't tell a difference, when in max mode. (the auto detect mode on V15 is admittedly nice) Battery life: Just don't expect you can use any cordless to really clean, quick pickups are where they shine. Performance wise, to come anywhere near close to a good corded unit you need to run it on 'max' mode, which generally equates to \~10min worth of use.

My Dyson v15 does a very good job on the the hardfloors. I use it multiple times a day as I have little kids and dogs. It is fantastic to just pull it off the wall and quickly clean the floors. My Miele C3 comes out on the weekend for a deep clean, especially the carpet and furniture. If I didn't have carpet I'd probably have gotten a C1. For the charge, my house is similar size but 50/50 carpet and hardfloors and the V15 has no issue cleaning it all in a single charge. Not sure how quickly it recharges TBH since when I'm done it stays in the charger for at least several hours before I need it again.

Most people here will tell you to stay away from Dyson. Like everything else, everyone's experience is different. I have a Dyson Animal upright that's a decade old and still works like new. We've always had a stick vacuum for the convenience, but both Shark and Samsung models we had weren't even worth the convenience. We dropped the coin for a V15 and honestly it works even better than the upright. My only problem with the V15 is the battery is not removable, and of course anything with a battery is not going to be BIFL. But in my experience Dyson makes a great product. Bagged vacuums will definitely have better longevity odds but if I'm getting even 10 years out of a vacuum, that's good to me.

I am owned by 2 cats myself and currently vacuuming like mad, fighting a flea infestation. Now fleas get everywhere and you need to vacuum not just the floors in the rooms, but also bedding, stairs, and anywhere else the cats possibly go. Currently using a borrowed Sebo upright teamed with a Dyson V15 handheld thingy. The V15 is out of price range (unless used?). Comes with many tools, among them is a small powered brushbar that's excellent for use on stairs themselves. With no hoses or cables, you can clean the stairs very quickly. Even if the V15 is way out of budget, there are the older models like the V7 which to be honest fill the role just as well and are less heavy on the wrist. Now, the Sebo (being a mains powered upright) is a lot more powerful and cleans the rooms nicely but it's much more prone to having the brushbar clog up and the short hose makes it useless on stairs. It's fairly light though and not too bad to carry up and down stairs. It makes a lot of sense as a main vacuum, but it can't do everything. Based on my experience, I suggest you split the budget and get two vacuums; an upright to do the bulk cleaning, and a decent handheld for the things the upright can't do so easily. I wouldn't recommend a handheld as your only vacuum, but for certain situations they are helpful and quick. I use it on the stairs, on furniture, and occasionally to do the floors with it when I need to be quieter or can't be bothered to get the sebo out.

Why? I use a C3 as my garage vacuum(because there's no reason to bring it inside), there's nothing to write home about. Use a V15 with fluffy optic for the house and there's no reason to plug the c3 in. The Miele is fucking annoying and likes to roll over. I've had the older dysons and yes they were much worse/trash, but for a V15 vs C3 there are no advantages to make me want to plug and be attached to a hose.

Shark cordless vacuum cleaners are not a type I would recommend. For the price, they have things about them that make them worse than a lot of the competition such as poor build quality and single cyclones. As for cordless, Dyson and LG, and sometimes Samsung, still make the leading mainstream ones in the United States. For Dyson, the V11 to current models are the best on carpet. The V8 is affordable, but lacks the run time and overall power to do a stellar job on carpet, at least in my opinion. Something such as the V15 smokes the heck out of a V8 and even a V10. Even the V12 is decent enough and good if you want something little and lightweight while still being powerful. I have a Dyson V15 and love it. It's light enough for my 66-year-old worn-out self to handle. However, I have a small 1000sqft condo with wood flooring and some scattered rugs, so it's not as hard on the battery as all-over carpeting would be. Plus, I alternate vacuuming different rooms on different days of the week. I don't think I could do my whole place on just one charge. If I had a larger space, especially with all-over carpeting, I would not expect this Dyson to be able to handle it over the long haul. I bought it last year, so I guess I'll find out how long it will last. If it doesn't last, it'll be a Miele for me. For ease of use, I am completely sold on cordless stick vacuums.

Idk man. I read reviews and Reddit posts for weeks and noticed reddit has an extreme bias towards sebo and Miele canister vacuums. But I didn't really get it, as so many of these models don't even come with a power head for carpets unless you get the tip top model, they have similar suction as a quality stick that runs on battery (Dyson v15 for example), they have the same level of filtration as a stick with no need to purchase bags, and they're harder to use (at least in smaller homes like mine). Most of the time these vacuums don't come with a powered carpet cleaner head, or you need the premium hard floor head, and don't get me started on the 24 different variations of packs with differing attachments and pieces using coded names like the STB-305-3 (wtf man). Tell me why the fuck this has to exist: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/EhG-SIwgp6E/maxresdefault.jpg So I decided I would go with the Dyson v15 instead. Maybe it won't last 15 years like everyone claims these others do, but it has swappable batteries, and my last Dyson V8 has held up just fine from 5 years of abuse now so.. plus, the V15 is 200$ off for black Friday at 799 best buy.

There truly is no solution other than daily cleaning. We are a multiple household and likely will be forever. Currently have one cat and one dog. Dog doesn’t shed but the cat makes up for it lol. My partner and I both have allergies so we need to clean a lot. Having a swiffer helps me (just the dry kind not the mop). I still sweep a lot, but the swiffer is helpful in clinging hair. You say you brush your pets semi regularly. That could be a huge contributor. All pets are different but some need daily brushing. The dog is more breed dependent, but I would brush your cats frequently to see if that helps. I agree a good vacuum can not be understated. I haaaaaate our vacuum but we can’t afford a new one. I am a nanny and will forever covet the Dyson V cordless vacuum line. If you have money for it, they are sooooooo great! So easy to use, great suction, easy to clean.

Yes, being cordless and effective for what I need. They have HEPA filters, at least mine does. The no bag is a feature for some of us not a defect. It's all a tradeoff. For some the tradeoff for cordless, no bags, good suction, etal means we vacuum more than we otherwise would. I dont make a mess emptying it vs making a mess swapping bags - cause I overfill it. That's a me thing but it's a consistent me thing and I dont have to worry about it with the Dyson. I never would have thought I'd defend a near $1,000 cordless vacuum but I got one as a gift and will never buy anything different now.

Same - Though Reddit seems to hate them. We got a Shark as a gift, lasted 1 year. They replaced it for free. Lasted about 2 years. We’ve had the same Dyson stick over 10 years with no issues. A charge doesn’t last long as long as it used to, but suction is still excellent. I can save you the trouble, Reddit will recommend you buy a $1300 corded Miele/Sebu. If God forbid you must have a cordless, $1000 Miele or $200 shark. I just don’t think it’s worth it for something where the bar is “does it get my floors clean?”. It reminds of certain hobbies like Mountain Biking where anything other than enthusiast-level ($$$$) is ‘junk’. Okay but I had fun riding my ‘junk’ the last decade while saving 8K. Been going for years without needlessly changing the design so you aren’t stuck with obsolete parts. Easily serviceable with inexpensive spare parts, all of which are readily available directly from Numatic and a decent range of attachments available too. Bought a Dyson cordless when I first moved in but it just felt a bit work shy and complained a lot. Replaced with a Henry and it’s a trooper. Does everything well with no fuss. I’ve used it in the garage. I’ve attached it to the mitre saw. It’ll ingest sawdust and nails like it’s nothing. Got one at the shop too, I’m sure it’s been there for at least 15 years and it’s used at least three times a week. Hasn’t seen a bag in years. What a fucking *brilliant* machine.

I wish I'd bought a Shark instead of a Dyson cordless. I have to empty the Dyson after vacuuming a single area rug, and if I use it when it's a tiny bit too full, it regurgitates a bunch of debris. It doesn't have great suction at the best of times, regardless.

The sharks are half the price at least and have nearly equal weight profiles as Dyson. Dyson warranties on cordless are just as garbage as everyone else's. Really need to talk to vacuum specialists that take care of vacuums and do maintenance for years. Not reddit consumers who never clean the filters, brushes, or tracks not to mention reviewing vacuums that have only been around for a few years

I've had my cordless Dyson for 5 years now. I can never go back. You just need to make sure you take it apart and thoroughly clean it every 6-8 months depending on use. The ease of vacuuming with it makes me despise cord vacuums. I can never go back. Imagine trying to water your plants around your entire house with a hose versus a squirt gun that put out like a hose.

I had a cordless Dyson vacuum and I loved it. Someday I might buy another one. The reason I had to get rid of my previous one was not because it broke, but because the filters were no longer available for it on the Dyson website. They sell compatible filters on Amazon, but if you read the reviews, people are saying they are fake and don’t work at all, so I didn’t bother. So my suggestion to you is if you buy a Dyson vacuum, buy maybe four or five filters so that you will be able to use it for years to come. I ended up buying a Hoover vacuum and immediately regretted it because it’s very heavy and tires out my wrist and arm as I use it. Impossible to use on the stairs.

I’m sorry, the cordless Dyson isn’t that great for carpet/rugs so I wouldn’t rank it that high. I had a Dyson "stick" type vacuum. It didn't last nearly as long as the price tag suggested it should. The out of warranty repair cost was 75% of what a new one would cost so I chucked it. I replaced it with a **Hoover ONE PWR** at half the price of the Dyson. I've had it longer than I had the Dyson and it's still working great. It comes with 2 batteries so one lives on the charger, the other on the vacuum. Means I've always got a full charge. The Dyson battery was internal so you can't swap out a battery if it dies on you. I would avoid anything that's not a brand name. Before the Dyson there was a generic Amazon no-name special vacuum that I used once, packed it back up in the box, and sent it back. Absolute junk. Bad suction. Just bad all around. Some of them may be fine but I don't trust the Amazon reviews on the no-name ones. They have a "Fieety" brand stick vacuum for $159 with nearly 1000 reviews averaging 4.6 stars. Is it good? You'd think so. But I still wouldn't take a chance on it. Ironically, the vacuum I bought and have had nothing but good luck with has a very low rating on Amazon (only 3 reviews though), but it doesn't matter as it's no longer available since it's such an old model.

So, I'm not sure where all of the Dyson hate is coming from, but I love ours. We bought it two years ago and it's still performing like it did on day one. Also: No annoying bags. No hoses that pinch you like an angry crab. (I hate you, Shark.) Super easy to clean filters, including the HEPA filter. It's also relatively light, easy to use/maneuver and is very multifunctional. I will say, however, that if you go cordless and have a space larger than 900 sq ft... you're going to need a second battery (unless they've improved on this over the years), or clean your space in shifts.

I work in shops, and Dyson cordless vacuums are revered. Need to vacuum up sawdust and aluminum chips and plastic shavings and metal filings? The Dyson will do it. Sharks and similar seem to break in a month or two. The power tool branded vacs are tougher but don’t work as well. The only downside is the batteries, but you can buy a DeWalt or Milwaukee adapter and never worry about it again.

I can't recommend one, but I can say that my Dyson stick vac, besides not sucking well, makes an insanely loud screaming sound, whereas the Miele C3 I just bought to use instead, is much quieter, particularly on the lower settings (where it still creates more suction than the Dyson). Oh and it filters the exhaust air better. Something to consider with a baby..

I did not have reddit before buying a dyson but signed up just to warn others. It's a beautiful machine.... that works for a year and then breaks (at least the cordless one) But what makes it worse is for a "premium product" the customer service is up there in the worst I have received. My vacuum broke a month ago (it's only a year old and still under 'warrenty'). \- I have been 30 days without a vacuum (it will probably be 45-60 by the time it's sorted) \- I have spent over 6-8 hours with customer service PS. I reached out on every other channel to give them an opportunity to rectify/ sort this out and they wouldn't do anything about it. Which is why I am here warning everyone else haha I would only every by one again at Costco where you can return it right away. I bought directly from dyson and there is no honor or care for customers when working directly with them .

We have Dyson, Miele and Henry. Dyson cordless is the best for daily convenience but not so good for a deep clean and it's quite high maintenance with all the charging, emptying, filter washing, getting hair off the brushes etc. Miele is solid and the suction is bonkers but I wouldn't use it for building work etc as I want to keep it nice. Henry is the work horse for cleaning the log burner, mud, brick, sick. You can chuck anything at him but he falls over a lot.

Kjøpte Dyson for 4 år siden.

I feel like there aren’t any bifl stick vacs because bags wouldn’t really be practical, and the better manufacturers know that bagless vacs generally don’t clean as well. FWIW, I have a sebo canister vac for intermittent deep cleans — the thing is crazy powerful, and *will* probably last forever — and a Dyson stick that I use for daily pet hair duty. The Dyson is kind of a joke next to the sebo, but the ease of getting it around the house makes it my go-to for quick cleanups. (The batteries do need to be replaced once in awhile.)

I've previously had a Shark Upright and now have a Dyson Stick. I think both are fine. Honestly the biggest thing that made me go with Dyson over Shark for my current vacuum is being able to maintain my vacuum. When looking online and in store it was hard to tell how I would clean the regular floor head myself with the Shark, while the Dyson is incredibly simple. Even the filter on the Dyson is washable, I don't have to replace any disposable parts all the time. If I can't maintain and clean my own cleaning tools they're doomed to be replaced sooner.

This and "enthusiests" in any given segment will be willing to give up convenience and performance. They always miss the entire point of a dyson, which is completely convenience. I don't want to lug around a bagged vacuum, I don't want to have to plug it in, dyson retains the build & performance but makes it cordless and quiet.

Every 6-10 months I carefully wash the permanent filter, remove the hair from the beater bar, and rinse out the canister. I tried to figure out how to change the HEPA filter when it was a couple of years old, but couldn't figure it out and there weren't any YouTube videos at the time. Now the plastic is 20 years old and I'm afraid to break off a tab so I'm calling it a permanent filter.

Yeah I worked as a vacuum tech for years and sold Miele, Sebo and Dysons, But Mieles were in for repair probably the most. All the service techs including me hated them. Way over priced and a royal pain to work on/get parts. The Dyson cordless that that I’ve owned for six years now has worked flawlessly and still gets 40 minutes on charge easily. And also for all the Dysons I’ve recommended to people through the years have all worked amazing. Dyson blows the competition away when it comes to innovation, and the overall product experience, especially the cordless game. Will never go back from Dyson. I do really like Sebo! The problem is not that the battery runs out during normal use, it's that EVERY SINGLE TIME you use max suction mode, it shortens the life of the battery. The user manual might say to only use max suction mode in short bursts, but it still doesn't change the fact that max suction mode is so bad for the battery that it shouldn't even be an option.

I really wanted to love the Dyson cordless vacuums, but I couldn’t get over having to press the button down the entire time vacuuming. Plus, the stick vacuums are a bit top heavy as well so it just felt super awkward to maneuver. It could just be because my hands are super hypermobile and so it’s ridiculously uncomfortable. I’m researching other cordless/stick brands.

I can say the Miele C1,2, and 3 bags or like $45 for the XL ones and it’s 8 bags or for you, a year supply. though you might only go through 5-6 cause they do compact the dust pretty well. And it comes with 2 pre motor filters and 2 post motor filters. So you get to change it’s primary filter every time you change bags, the pre motor filter which is what keeps the motor clean and running for a long time every 4 bags and the post motor filter which is the the last stand filter for anything that might have made it through every 4 bags. Also air flowing through a MERV 13 filter several times is the equivalent to a hepa filter cause they filter the same .3 micron particles and hepa filters 99% and MERV 13 filters 75-85%. So this would be close if not better than “hospital grade filtration.” And if you must they sell a hepa grade post motor filter as well for most models. So bagged would be great for your needs, and for an extra $45 you get a machine that will last at least twice if not up to four times as long as any baggless vacuum. I also own a Dyson stick for the past 2 years and my dad owns a Dyson animal ball for the past 15 years and they work pretty darn well. Shark might not last as long but the don’t leak dust either and is cheaper from what I’ve seen so its also is a viable option. Best of luck!!

I love mine, a Dyson. It lives in our pantry and I use it multiple times a day. It’s definitely not meant for heavy duty vacuuming, I still like a regular old plug in one. But it’s SO nice for a quick clean up with two toddlers and a dog.

I’ve got a Dyson cordless and a Miele corded. The Dyson is great for everyday cleaning up after the kids as it’s a pain to drag the other one out all the time. But I wouldn’t want to rely on the Dyson as the Miele is so much more powerful. I think all cordless ones will be limited unless you don’t have any carpets or rugs.

Yes I found with the Dyson it was great to start with on max power but fairly quickly the time you could use it shortened before the battery ran out. The first we owned we got a good two or more years out of the battery, the next two we owned we only got a year. I have found with the Samsung that after 2 years there has been no decrease in power and there doesn’t seem to have been any decrease in the length of time it can be used before it needs recharging. Wouldn’t go back to a Dyson.

I also have pets and got a Miele C1 Cat and Dog. The suction is fantastic, but due to the fur tumbleweeds and tracked in dirt, I vacuum every other day or so. For that I find myself reaching for my backup Dyson stick - the canister is just too much of a pain for a quickie rug pass. Miele is the weekly “CLEAN ALL THE THINGS” tool. So if you are a chronic vaccunmer, I’d suggest either getting a Miele (or comparable) stick vac, or if you go canister, get a cheap backup for quickie fur jobs.

Buying the upper range of Shark corded is definitely better. I've owned both. I like Dyson stick vacuum products but wouldn't own one as my primary vacuum in a large residence. In a smaller residence with no pets I could see a great argument for a primary stick vacuum and a shop vac backup for glass breaks.

Dyson isn't what they used to be. I use one of their sticks at work. It was great initially but I've been watching it literally fall apart over the last few years (first the dust canister kept coming apart, then one of the wheels fell off, then the button that holds the stick in fell off). It gets a little abused, but it's not exactly tossed around. The suction is good. Everything else leaves something to be desired. Your money is probably better spent elsewhere.

4 years for a vacuum is terrible value for money ae. Expectations are so low these days for product longevity. Dyson are supposed to be the most premium vacuum, and it lasts about a year before it starts going down hill. After that you have to buy cheap Chinese battery adapter's to even use them. The filters are impossible to wash, and suction is below average.

My experience with Dyson stick. Worked ok first time. Next time wouldn’t work on high, cleaned it out, washed filter, let it dry 24 hours. Next day, won’t work oh high, barely works on medium, low is worthless. Cleaned again, washed filter, let it dry 24 hours. Next time high won’t work, medium pulses and barely sucks. So basically I vacuum carpet, litter gets pushed around room, when I turn off vacuum everything it has collected falls onto floor and I vacuum it up with a hand held ryobi. In researching Dyson problems, best advice on how to fix a Dyson was to throw it out and get something else. Good luck.

Yes, but you need to remember to always return it to the charger, otherwise it will be dead all the time & frustrating when you want to use it. The nice thing about Dysons, too, is a new battery is extremely affordable, so if the battery dies, you can replace it for under $40. I’ve had my Dyson cordless for 6 years, & I had to replace the battery once. I use mine daily. It’s been one of my favorite household “investments”.

I think you have had some trauma from older vacuums regarding batteries. Modern vacuums will last double that without losing too much power. It is no different than laptops. Those batteries used to die or be useless in 3-4 years but these days 5-6 is easily achieved, same for phones, and vacuums aren't discharged and recharged nearly as often. To illustrate, my 4 year old Philips vacuum has lost 0 of its charging capabilities. And while I agree that Dyson has good suction, they are reliability nightmares. I had two. I replaced the first after 3 years because it just stopped performing and no amount of cleaning did anything to change that. The second developed the same issues in about 2 years. I managed to convince support to send me a new motor but by then I was so pissed off with the brand (expensive and unreliable are a hateful combo) that I will never buy Dyson again (much of their stuff looks fancy but are outright scams). My Philips 8000 is as mentioned 4 years old and it has lost some of its suction power but will run about 40 minutes on a charge, same as when I bought it. Not super enthusiastic about the suction performance going down in 4 years but it has been better in pretty much every way compared to the Dyson (which refused to hoover up any of the cat litter on the floor eventhough it had much better suction, and it was FAR quieter too). Never again Dyson. Look up Dyson and Scam on Youtube and watch a few vids before you buy anything.

Bought a cheap Walmart one for the garage and it worked great. Battery lasts forever. It works so well that the Dyson has gone to garage and the hart stays in the house. I've had it for 3 years now, still original battery working just fine. I'd get a year tops out of a Dyson battery. Dyson wins the looks award, but Hart beats it in performance.

I have a lower end Miele as my main vacuum and have had it for 10 years and it is like new... however I did supplement with a Dyson cordless for awhile and it went through a battery every year and I had to replace several broken plastic bits on the cannister.... also those make a mess when you try to empty them..... No cordless vacuums are BIFL.... HOWEVER we did get a Samsung Bespoke Jet cordless vac 2 years ago and I love that thing. Pricy for a cordless but it is way better quality than the Dyson and has a charging base that also contains a vacuum/bag that sucks the dirt out of it into a bag... so completely mess-less. It also has two batteries that can be swapped in seconds like a power tool. The second battery mounts to the dock in a second charger. It is also quieter than the Dyson and the Miele.

I got Dyson and I love it. she does hard and soft floors, she’s light enough for cob webs, car cleaning, you can lower the suck so if you spill crumbs at night it’s quiet. you can get unbranded acsessories so I got alsorts of things to help clean cars, keyboards, I got clips for the tube to hold more nozzles, I got a big bendy tube so stairs is a breeze. the filters are washable, I got a load of unbranded so I can swap them out more often. any breakages you can buy most spare parts online which is super handy also you just twist the end and the rollerbar pops out which makes long hair cleaning so easy. I used to hate sitting on the floor with sicciors cutting hair off the bar. I don’t miss trailing cables or the bulk of the Hoover.

In another life I was a Kirby service tech and I serviced machines on a number of occasions > 40-50 years old. At the time they had parts available for all machines. They ARE expensive (and the sales process leaves a lot to be desired) but are generally built like tanks. If there's a weak point, it's the fan. Even if it is Lexan, hard/heavy enough debris (eg bolts) can shatter the blades. The nice thing about the design is that instead of putting the bag inline with the fan, the bags fill from the top so it's able to maintain airflow. We have one (though it was a gift) but generally use our Dyson cordless day to day.

Honestly as an ex appliance engineer, the cordless Dysons are great for use but terrible when something goes wrong. We used to just write them off if it was anything more than a blockage. Dyson are also very difficult to deal with to get parts etc.

I didn't mean consumer end I meant b2b they were difficult to deal with i.e. sourcing the parts for the customer and general support.

I bought two dysons thinking they were the best. Canister vacuum motor burnt out right after the two year warranty. Stick vacuum battery died, which was fine to replace but still annoying. We’ve been limping along with just the stick vacuum for two years now brutal!

Dyson stick vacuum cleaners are the easiest to use and the best design for domestic use  IMO.   I had a miele in the past, and dragging around a cleaner on little wheels and replacing bags is terrible: I don't care how long they last.

I think I’ve had my Dyson cordless for longer than five years. I had to replace the battery once. I was told if you are constantly using it on Max, it will go through batteries like candy

🧹 Broom.and mop are the best . I put a few drops of Clorox and a few drops of dawn to a bucket 🪣 full of warm water( 🧤 )😂 I have a cordless shark vacuum for over 8 years now and it works just fine I also have a cordless Dyson for the days that I don't feel like grabbing the dustpan We are really making our life harder with so many artifacts and I am guilty of that

I made the switch from a bagless upright Dyson and a stick Dyson to a Kenmore Pop N Go canister, based on the advice of this sub. I could not be happier. I have three shed monster Australian Shepherds that have killed several Dysons over the years. I am THRILLED not to have to stop and empty the Dyson every 5 minutes. Changing the bag on the Kenmore is a lot less messy than emptying the bin on the Dyson. I wish I bought a canister 20 years ago. The canister is much easier to use on the stairs. It works miracles on cleaning my blinds, which the Dyson was absolutely useless for. It actually gets my carpets clean, which the Dyson failed to do after about a year. Also, the Kenmore is a hell of a lot quieter than my Dyson.

I’m surprised to see you say Dyson is difficult for parts. I’ve been buying their cordless vacs for 10+ years and any time I need a part they either overnight for free or they charge a fair price.

I’ve only had 2 over the 10+ years. Someone broke my first one and then I replaced it with a newer model.

I have a cordless dyson for 7 years. The battery crapped out halfway through but the batteries for powertools(which we have) also fits. So we use those. Now I dont know if the original battery is shit or not because I dropped the vacuum mulitple times so that might be my fault. But hey after dropping it so many times, it still works!!

I love my Dyson. Works well, I’ve had it for 4 years and have done zero maintenance to it. Sleek and easy to use. Mine is cordless and I find I use it more often because it’s easy to just whip out and then put it away. Is it the most powerful vacuum? Probably not, but I don’t need that. I have a cleaning service that comes by biweekly. I’m more about convenience and spot cleaning when needed. They have sales often so definitely keep checking for one so you don’t have to pay full price.
