I love my $150 Dyson V6 fluffy from 2018...in spite of its poorly designed dust bin emptying system...and the fact that if I run it on max power all the time, it will die in 5 or 6 minutes and my battery will need to be replaced every 2 years... But that fluffy head is the bee's knees on hard surfaces! I just use it on low power, after getting a warranty replacement battery right before the 2 or 3 year warranty ran out, and I don't use the wall mount anymore (maybe continuous charging zapped the battery?) - and I will keep it until it completely bites the dust! Then I'll get a new fluffy with the better designed bin. Yes, recommend - don't charge it all the time and don't use max power often and you'll be golden. Also, Dyson will price match on their site typically...and give you free accessories...
I’ve had my V6 Absolute for 10 years. It’s my main floor vacuum and I have 3 young children, so it gets a lot of use. The only thing I’ve had to replace was the battery in 2021. I bought a knock-off battery on Amazon, and she’s still purring.
Dyson V6 : was my first stick vacuum, didn't last long Miele HX2 : awesome, until it broke(not mechanical) and needed a proprietary part. Ryobi : lots of good reviews, wife complains too bulky and roller partially working. My work around was buying 2 old school used Dyson DC models and upgrading the battery packs with aftermarket. Heaps of parts around will never buy new again IMO Dyson = Apple.
I love my Dysons, I know this sub reddit hates them but if you get them on sale it's a great value. I've been using the stick vacs since the v6 and never had a issue...
We have a Dyson V6 that we got on special YEARS ago, still working. The brush is a bit worn though so I have one coming from Aliexpress for not much $$. Keep an eye on specials. I'll replaced it at some point with a Ryobi as if you register it, you get 6 years warranty. Being a stick vac makes it about 10000% easier to be motivated to vacuum compared to a drag around vacuum. Granted the suction won't be as good, it's a worthwhile compromise IMO.
Depends on the budget. I'm going to get a Ryobi one at some point, it's $450 with a 4amp battery. I already have the batteries so that's why i'm leaning that way. Register it online and net 6 year warranty (not on battery). They don't repair they just replace. We have a Dyson V6 that doesn't last very long now. I contemplated buying battery adaptor but keen for a new unit.
Odd. We bought the big upright yellow pet edition Dyson in 2018 and it’s had zero problems so far. We also have two of the long cordless V6 Dyson and both of those have been great as well. Three Dyson’s running strong and powerful, and I always recommend them.
