I’m allergic to dust mites, so controlling dust has been a big thing for me my whole life. First off.. A good air purifier helps a *ton* with dust buildup by grabbing it out of the air before it makes it to your carpets/floors in the first place. After a lot of research, I went with the Winix 5500-2. Each unit covers a certain sq footage, but if you can place one in a spot where all your entrances are within its coverage area, a single unit can help with dust buildup in the whole house even if it’s large enough that multiple are recommended. Vacuum/floor cleaning wise – Count me as another vote for the Dyson! Also, the O-Cedar microfiber mop. O-cedar mop - The big flat one. Fantastic for hard floors under furniture and stuff, which is one area I find the Dyson a bit lacking. I use it dry like a swifter, and when I need to wet mop, I just grab a spray bottle and spray as I go. I was skeptical it would do a good enough job, but I haven’t felt the need to do the whole sloshing bucket routine since I got this thing. Get an extra microfiber cover (or three) right away so you can swap em out often and always have a clean one on hand. Dyson - I got the Dyson V6 “mattress” handheld >10 years ago. I don’t own a full size vacuum, use just this for my whole house and it’s still going strong. Stuff I’ve learned that might be useful for you: – Get an extra set of filters ASAP! You need to rinse out the 2 filters regularly, and having an extra set means you can just swap in clean ones instead of waiting for the one set to dry to use the vacuum again.. This is super important for me bc it helps me avoid the situation where I couldn’t vacuum when I wanted/needed/planned for some reason, now the floor is dirtier, I get avoidant of the task and it all snowballs.. – At some point, it WILL act weird or sound weird and you will freak out that it’s broken. >95% of the time, it’s either something stuck in the flap, or gunk built up around said flap keeping it from opening/closing properly. It’s easily disassembled to fix this (lots of instructions online), and I usually take the opportunity to do a thorough cleaning of the whole unit. – The smaller power brush attachment (meant for upholstery/mattresses) came with mine. It’s incredible for pet hair and really sucks the dust out from DEEP. Tons of crap builds up in upholstery/mattresses and keeping them clean is healthier and will help with general dust buildup. I don’t have carpet in my house, but i do use it on my rugs. – The wall mounted charging station. If yours doesn’t come with one, just go ahead and get it.
What a patootie!! Dyson hand held
Nothing wrong with using a shop vac as a regular vaccuum cleaner. it gets the job done. I think they are just designed to work in dirty messy shops, so they are bigger, and maybe don't have as good dust filters on them. When indoors, you want to avoid blowing dust and allergens all over the place by using a vaccuum with a hepatitis filter. You can use a regular vaccuum with hos attachments to suck up cobwebs and clean fan blades and stuff. Yes, we have two vaccuums. actually 3, but who's counting? A Dyson cordless handheld. and a Dyson canister vaccuum. We like having one on each level. I HATE dragging that thing up the stairs.
I have the Dyson hand held, the battery capacity drove me nuts. So I bought the 18v battery adapter, so now I use my Makita battery and can easily do the whole flat.
I bought used Miele older canister at local vacuum dealer. Owner didn’t want to talk about Dyson. I like Miele but not sure about canister vs upright. It’s quiet, & does a great job, & I will keep but still like the Dyson concept. I bought Dyson Animal 3 on sale last week. Also have Dyson cordless handheld & purifiers. I have original Dyson ball DC24, 15 years old too
Dyson er vel verd pengene ja. Lett å få reservedeler til også dersom noe skulle skje etter garanti/reklamasjon er gått ut.
Invester i en Dyson håndholdt med batteri. Den er vel verd pengene
I’ve got a Miele canister vacuum and Dyson hand held as do my friends. We all use the Dyson much more simply because it’s so convenient with being easy to grab, is always charged, lighter, and more maneuverable. My friends have pets and their Miele has had multiple breakdowns despite being the pet version. Hair clogs in the bristles and needs regular changing. Hair gets stuck where it shouldn’t and causes rollers to burn out. Connections don’t connect.
Look into the refurbished Dyson's. I have both a V6 and a V8 that are over a decade old and still are mint. I've only needed to replace the battery on the V8 besides regular filter maintenance.
