"We've had our Dyson V8 for almost 6 years and it still works amazingly."
"The first one lasted five years, which was good enough for me, considering the price & the intense use. ... Two dogs (one a husky), two cats, and my thick, long hair. I vacuum daily, hardwoods and carpet."

"I live in a 2700 square foot cookie-cutter tract house. First floor is laminate with an office that has carpet. Then there’s the stairs which leads to 5 carpeted bedrooms, two tile bathrooms, a laundry room, and a walk-in carpeted closet. I can get all of that done one charge."
"being cordless and effective for what I need. ... For some the tradeoff for cordless, no bags, good suction, etal means we vacuum more than we otherwise would. ... I never would have thought I'd defend a near $1,000 cordless vacuum but I got one as a gift and will never buy anything different now."
"I ’ve been spoiled by cordless vacuuming, especially since my house was built in the 20s and has few options for outlets."

"the amount of dog hair / ETC it can get out of the carpet vs the Dyson Cordless cannot be compared."
"the cordless Dyson isn’t that great for carpet/rugs ... I have the old school Dyson Ball vacuum cleaner and it’s sooo much better for rugs"
"It wasnt good enough though with our new house with carpet upstairs"

I had a Dyson V8 Animal + for 5 years, but I'm not happy with the building quality and battery life. Are there any cordless stick vacuums on the market with a good building quality and battery life? How are the newer models like Samsung Bespoke Jet Plus, Miele Triflex HX2, ...? I dont want a Dyson anymore.
r/VacuumCleaners • Good quality cordless stick vacuum cleaner ->We've had a Dyson V8 animal for about 4 years and it's great. Bonus, if you have Ryobi One+ batteries you can buy an adaptor off Amazon for like $30 so you don't have to worry about the inbuilt battery going flat, I absolutely love it
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • Best stick vacuums?! ->Could be a case of they don't build them like they used to. Bought the original entry level yellow Dyson back in the day. Ran good for about a decade. The beater stopped working and we gave it away. Replaced with a Kirby. Bought a V8 Animal stick vacuum when they first came out and the battery died about 2 years ago. Got a kit from Amazon to convert it to my DeWalt tool batteries. Runs great. Recently the door for the waste broke a clip. Now we just tape it up. Not sure what I will replace it with.
r/VacuumCleaners • Whatever you do - never buy a Dyson ->My experience with Dyson was not good. Purchased 4 from Costco. One battery failure, one canister seal broke after a month. The laser fluffy head was taking the finish off some of the beveled edges of my less than 2 year old hardwood floors. Looking at other cordless, none of them had a brush head I would trust with my wood floors. My other vacs are a very old but reliable Electrolux Epic 8000, and a newly purchased Sebo K3. The floor brushes with horsehair bristles are the only thing I can trust to not damage my hickory floors. Or a swiffer.
r/VacuumCleaners • Reviews Are So Mixed ->Get a used V8 Animal on eBay with the motor head wand and tools Replacement Battery is easily available online if knackered Reason: My v11 has broken down twice in 1 year. Newer does not always mean better My v8 is still going after 8yrs
r/dyson • Best Dyson wireless vacuum on a budget with pets? ->I have a Dyson V8 animal. I’ve had it for years and years and years. I was gonna get rid of it because I didn’t think it worked all that well and so I tried a Dyson V 15. The thing has a ton of suction. If you have a strong back, you might like it. I hated it. It’s too hard to push on the carpet. The shark vacuums and all those cheap ones are terrible. Anyway, I ended up taking my V8 and I looked online and watched a YouTube video and I tore it completely apart. All of the parts I washed and dried. Put it all back together and the thing works like a champ. I will tell you don’t buy the V 15. Get the V 10. As far as battery life. The newer Dyson’s have a removable battery so you can get more than one, but for a cordless vacuum don’t expect great battery life on any of them in turbo mode. If you want a strong vacuum to clean a whole house then get a plug-in upright.
r/VacuumCleaners • best cordless vacuum that actually has strong suction? ->I have some area rugs, unless they’re really heavy, the stick vacuums cause them a bunch up. I have a Dyson V8 and when I go over the area rugs I turn it down so that it’s not on it. Super suction mode. That being said a robot vacuum works really well. I have one of those too.
r/VacuumCleaners • ISO Stick Vacuum for Area Rugs ->Dyson refurbished store on eBay is the only way to go. They replace any clear plastic and filtering parts for sanitary reasons and are factory refurbished with new parts. Just picked up a V8 kit for a little over $200 for my mom
r/CleaningTips • Are Dyson vacuums really worth it? V11 is now under $400 and I'm tempted ->I have Dyson Animal I think it’s V8 and works well for me
r/samoyeds • Best vacuum for fur? ->I have Dyson Animal I think it’s V8 and works well for me
r/samoyeds • Best vacuum for fur? ->Hm well I’ve never used Shark so I wouldn’t be able to compare. My boss has a cordless Dyson that clogs as well but it’s a different model than mine. I don’t think the one I have is the greatest vacuum ever but it works well enough for me and doesn’t clog!
r/samoyeds • Best vacuum for fur? ->Seven happy years with my Dyson v8 Animal. Regularly wash the filter, and it's a happy machine.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Vacuum for Pets ->I have love hate relationship with my Dyson V8 pet. The attachments are the best I've ever used of any vacuum but the unit itself shuts off and the battery has a short life span. I have a corded Henry that has way better suction. If only I could use the Dyson animal hair attachments on it.
r/dogs • Best vacuum for pet hair? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
