This is what just swayed me...got it last night, should I take it out of the box or return?

Can confirm dustbin is crazy small. I have a 500 sqft apartment with a dog and I have the empty it twice. Thinking about exchanging it for the v10 instead. I was more so excited about the wetmop attachment but that thing sucks

For me, with three long-haired cats, my Dyson stick saves my life. I got the one at Costco-V something. On full strength I use it on my few rugs , but I keep it on the middle strength for all my other floors. The battery life at full power is pretty short (20 mins) but at least 30-40 mins in the middle setting. I live on a single floor condo so it works perfectly for me.

I second the central vac. I just left mine behind when we moved house (I’ve had one in two of my homes) and I miss it so much. It was 20 years old and still going strong. I just bought a dyson at costco and after one week I already know it’s going back. Even on full charge at the highest suction the battery lasts 7 minutes!!! What the actual…who vacumes for 7 minutes? I hate it and can’t wait to get a new central vac installed in my new home.

Yep, can attest to this having had the V15 for a while (tried it before going for the Gen5) the difference even compared to the V10 is colossal. I’d be willing to say the V15 can, at times, be more powerful than the Gen5 under sustained load (boost) so the V15 is a no-brainer in this case. Also the V9 looks like a freak-of-nature money-grab.

For the love of vacuums Please don't. I've serviced and refurbed so many of these cordless Dysons. If you aren't willing too buy a phone and electronics screwdriver bit kit, avoid them. Dyson uses tiny t8and t9 screws, and the brushroll head is notorious for the little motor belt snapping. Also the parts are very expensive... They aren't worth the cost imo. On average the many ones I've serviced the factory batteries don't last more than a year or two.... The attachments break very easily, and replacing the drive belts on the motorized heads is a challenge if you havent done it before. They also start too smell bad very quickly if you don't sanitize the dust bin and aluminum dust shield built into the unit... I've also noticed the motorized heads scratch all flooring types very easily

OP don't get me wrong they are legitimately good vacuums.! They are just a huge pain too maintain in a way that keeps them performing close too new. My personal professional opinion though when I take the engineering and design concept into consideration is that they aren't user maintenence friendly.

Tragically the Dyson v9 has been my favorite and the first for me where the roller bar hasn't gotten tangled up in cat hair. If you can get one on sale, it's not so painful.
