Find a used FilterQueen Majestic. They're rock solid, very powerful, and they're kinda sorta a middle ground between bagged and bagless. They have disposable filter cones that are cheap to replace like bags, but the dirt goes into a container so you'll be able to see your accomplishments 😂

Well there is Filter Queen, Aerus Electrolux, Rainbow E2 series not the SRX, Kirby and Hyla. All those vacs last your whole life. The Rainbow and Hyla are water vacuums and Rainbow takes a Hepa in the back, Hyla on the other hand has made a separator that is so good you dont need a hepa in the rear. So you never buy filters in parts. I own one if each of these and have seen them last way up there in years. But honestly I love all these vacs. There amazing in there own way.

Reminds me of a Rainbow demo when I was a kid - the part where they use a light to show all the dust your existing vacuum spews. Only ours, being a Filter Queen, didn't spew any more than the Rainbow did.

I just vacuumed my bedroom, bath, laundry room, dining room, kitchen and living room in 20 min with my Filter Queen. I love that vacuum! It has incredible suction, 3 filters, a large dirt bin- necessary with three large dogs. I only empty it once every 3-4 months, and then it requires a new filter paper- available after market. New, these cost ~$2K, expensive. But you can often find them on eBay, used, and only a few years old, although the age is difficult to tell without the serial number. I saw one today for $400. The motors last forever. Last fall I bought a stick vacuum thinking I could use it in the kitchen, when the dogs drag in dirt after playing ball. It sucked up large pieces of dirt but didn't leave the floor dust free like the FQ. I've had a variety of other vacuums in the past, bagless, bagged, canisters, uprights, Shark, Eureka, Bissell, Kenmore, Hoover, but none clean like the FQ. I even had one of those water filter monstrosities. Who wants to pour out filthy water after every use? Most vacuums last only until something is caught underneath, and the plastic architecture melts. Not so with the FQ. I've had this vacuum for 15 yrs, and the suction is still incredible.

I think this is a pretty great idea. I like how durable Filter Queens are and they are very affordable on the used market. Downsides are they are heavy.

Dyson is junk! Miele is good- find an old filter queen or Kirby both way better!
