Hoover backpack vacuum. Gets under a lot but not everything. Cost around $350. I clean large houses so the filter is large enough to hold a ton without needing to empty it throughout the cleaning. Ive had it for a few years now and would probably have my first one still if I hadn’t dropped it. I love it

I have a Hoover MaxLife upright specifically designed for pet fur, with an extra filter insert that traps dander. It also picks up fuzz outta the carpet you had no idea was there. I've had pets all my life, and most of my vacuum-cleaners have been...adequate. This beast is bagless and powerful. Biggest drawback: the accessories don't have the same power and are annoying to use.  My other vacuum is also a Hoover but it's a commercial grade and carried on the body. It's meant for hard surface floors and upholstery, and works very well. I don't know if it's possible for a single machine to do everything that needs to be done regarding a pet home. It's hard enough keeping up with people-issued detritus.

For a second there I thought you meant the dog was the best vacuum. 🤣 I had a 20+ year old commercial grade Hoover and that thing was great for fur in carpets. We also have a small (handheld with attachments) Shark that does a good job, but we left the heavy stuff to the Hoover. I think Bissel makes one designed for pet hair (and not hugely expensive like a Dyson). I have a Bissel carpet shampooer which does a great job.
